Summoner Spells Back to Top

The GOLDEN rule. Have one escape/gap-closer 4.png/6.png

The aim for this guide is that it should be easy to just copy pasta the runes/masteries ability choices and item building while you are in the middle of a game, But it should also be in-depth for anyone whom is interested in this amazing champion i fell in love with(playstyle wise ofc) within the first hours of playing this game. (sorry for my bad english, not a native english speaker, aswell as it being my first guide)

First off i will go through the summoners spell that you profit the most of in a League game to get the edge in your lane and in the teamfights.

4.png-Flash is just a no brainer for akali. You can use it to Close the gap for a akalishadowdance.png charge. It is also a perfect escape ability which can be used to flash over walls or just to Dodge crucial abilities such as stuns and silences. Be mindful to use 4.png as an escape and only use it aggressively if you have some sort of an idea on how to escape/survive the fight.

14.png-Is what I use as an secondary summoner spell almost 99% of the time when i play. It is a great ability to have as champions such as 36.png 50.png 19.png106.png8.pngor 23.png etc become killable again. 14.png is also very strong in the early to mid game when you are in a duel or in a 1v2. For the late game try to get the ignite on the target you will be sitting on. Which should be their adc/marksman(I will explain this further later on in the guide). The exception is of course when the enemy picks the golden 6 --> 36.png19.png50.png106.png8.pngor 23.png

3.png-So why exhaust? Well this should only be picked in very specific matchups and teamcomps. I only pick this if I am in a full premade team and when our support goes for the ignite and they dont have any of these:  36.png19.png50.png106.png8.pngor 23.png. It can also be good to have if you are a bit inexperienced with akali and is facing a high burst champion such as 238.pngand55.png. (of course switch this for the ignite)

12.png-An all good spell to switch for ignite if you are facing a really bad matchup. I dont ever use if it for the mid lane but for top it is alright. However, if you are in a full-pre it is worth picking up if you are the splitpusher.

21.png- Works well against champions as 99.png103.png238.png. However you are an assassin and with the build this guide will cover, barrier will not be necessary. However, if barrier is your bae go for it.

1.png-Works if the enemy team has a lot of stuns. But i still belive that ignite will do so much more for you to snowball and burst for the kills.

2.png13.png-There is a trinket for one and mana is not really a problem for akali...

7.png-I dont see a reason to go for heal as barrier is better if you really want some protection. Moreover, over 80% of the games the enemy mid laner will have ignite.

New Runes Back to Top

Masteries Back to Top

I will not go into these as much as its preety self explanitory. For example should you pick Savagery or Wanderer. As a mid laner or as anything not being a jungler you should pick "Wanderer".  One masterie that might be an argument is between the Bounty Hunter or Oppressor. But as an assassin you want to get kills. and the only slow you have to rely on is your W. However!!!! This guide is for soloque and in soloque you trust no one. You keep a good attitude and play your game. Thats how you win more games.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

All around good start. You invest in early item. Easier to dodge stuff
Good vs champions like zed to rush the zonyas. Works good vs all around ad champions. But for these cases dont rush the zonyas
Always buy pinks and put them in safe spots

Core Items

Really good to stay in lane. Dont forget to buy pots when backing.
Buy this before upgrading boots if u can do it on first back

Situational Items

    good vs heavy ap assassins
good to rush vs heavy ad champs

VS

Aatrox

Easy

Harass whenver he tries to farm. You burst him down easy after lvl 6

VS

Ahri

Medium

Watch out for her ahriseduce.png Try to bait out her ahritumble.png and use akalismokebomb.png and wait for her ult cd

VS

Akali

Medium

ur not gna play vs her in ranked. However keep a akalimota.png proc on her always so you win the trades

VS

Alistar

Medium

He is very beefy, Try to just farm up and do dmg after you got 3145.png However i dont see him much in the middle anyways

VS

Amumu

Medium

When he ganks try to use the R to juke and get distanse for his ult.

VS

Anivia

Hard

Watch out for her stun. After lvl 6 you will have a hard time to 1v1. Early game you just want to farm and survive in the lane.

VS

Annie

Hard

A hard matchup. Try to buy early 1321.png to survive the stun time easier.

VS

Aurelion Sol

Easy

Try to stand inside of his passive. bait out his ult before going ham.

VS

Azir

Hard

This birdie is very anoying to play against. Survival is key. Moreover, kill potential is low.

VS

Brand

Easy

Buy early boots. Dodge his stun combo and burst him down when you hit 6

VS

Caitlyn

Easy

She will bully you early game, You will be underfarmed if she knows how this game works. However, when you get the 3145.png and lvl 6. You can burst her down. Keep in mind that her traps are deadly

VS

Cassiopeia

Easy

Heavy poke. If you keep your hp high you can easily kill her and you can even minimize her ult with some fancy ult dodges. as always wait for 6 and then step up the spotlight

VS

Cho'Gath

Hard

This matchup is... something  i wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole. (southpark <3)

Keep away from the stuns and keep the hp high at all times with spellvamp and nearly none trading as you loose them in mid game. Try to go really aggressive early and hope that you can dodge the skillshots he has.

VS

Diana

Medium

If you trade properly and stack a Q before going in trading you should win lane.

VS

Dr. Mundo

Medium

Save the ignite. Even pop it if he ults and backs away so you can farm in peace. Try to stay behind minions and play safe. Bursting him down when you get hextech is easy.

VS

Ekko

Medium

This matchup is interesting. Keep an eye on his ult and you should have an even matchup with some nice farm early its easy.

VS

Ezreal

Medium

This lane is a pain if he plays aggressivly. It also depends on him being ap or ad. My advice is that you should belive in your dodge skills and wait for better days. Which means wait for hextech and lv6. Then make ballsy trades and back off with W to dodge his counter trade

VS

Fizz

Medium

If he is ap you can minimize his dammage a bit with good W. However, mid game he wins the burst. Buy aggressive, dorans works if you feel good about life. Bully early game for dominance and keep the snowball flowing

VS

Galio

Easy

Wait does he still exsist? (tbh only played against him once which was in season 2) Pay with style and dodge his dmg spells. Its a good matchup pre6. Keep even farm and youre fine

VS

Jhin

Easy

After lvl 6 he melts. Buy boots first and upgrade them if you do not have the skills of dodging.

VS

Karma

Medium

Keep away for her Q-R combo and just count down the time for her R cd. 50-70 sec. And do the trades when its on cd with R as an obvious gap-closer

VS

Karthus

Medium

Not much to say dodge the eggs. ult in to trade and ult out from his aoe. Never go in without 2 ult charges.

VS

Kassadin

Easy

Its a trcky matchup. Get lvl 6 and follow him if he roams. This is key. Otherwise its a preety easy matchup

VS

Katarina

Medium

You win the trades early on. Be very aggressive. If you loose your foot in the lane and give him the hp advantage you will have to back or wait for better days(which means lvl 6 and hextech)

VS

Kayle

Easy

Bait out her R knowingly and be ready to ult out for the counter attack. you should be able to win the lane with ease.

VS

Kennen

Medium

This lane is preety passive. Farm a lot and try to find the window. Ward enemy jungle and maybe pick them off.

Things to think about in solo-que Back to Top

1. People do not communicate as much as they should (even with riot adding pings) Use this to your advantage and ward enemy jungle and kill them at blue and red after lvl 6.

2. Even if ive said not to trust anyone in solo-que, Remember a happy team is a team without leavers. Do the dst method. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cz7TWpRXyRY (Ty sky for the awesome entertainment and advice thru life)

3. Gank and keep team updated on your opponents position. Gank when fed and try to snowball hard with towers as objectives.

4. Remember to use a Q and wait for the cd for another one and then jump in for maximum amount of dmg. which means akalimota.png wait 3-6 sec. akalishadowdance.png aa-->akalimota.png aa. With a hextech in the middle of the air with ult on them you will be able to kill any opponent. (Videos and pictures will come in time)

About me and why I am trying to teach you about akali (+STATS ~3days) Back to Top

I have been a gamer for as long as i can remember. Moreover, I always loved the challange and ive been compedative for a long time. When I started playing league of legends the first champion i bought was akali. I was always so astonished in how i could get kills and get several pentas with the little knowledge i had with the game. Furthermore, no one seems to be playing this carry champion at all. So i have about half of my games on my eune account as akali. It is a great pick and with a tanky build you can still burst down enemy adc and just be an ap bruiser which there are not many of. Moreover, These are some of the most recent games ive had with akali. some more sucsessful then others :) My games ive played during and after I started doing this guide___________________Screenshot_2.pngScreenshot_14.png
