Summoner Spells Back to Top

Summoner Spells

Untitled-1.png

4.png Flash is the first Summoner Spell and I recommend always taking it when you're playing this champion. This is because Flash is the best Summoner Spell around. It is a really good and reliable Summoner Spell. It can be used offensively, defensively and is honestly, a really good Spell to take.

12.png Teleport is the second Summoner Spell that you should take on her. This Spell is really good because it can be used to get back to lane quicker and it can also be used to help your team. In the early game, you want to teleport back to lane after your first back. Then you should look for Teleport opportunities where you can help your team.

New Runes Back to Top

I believe that Domination is going to be a good page on Akali.

Electrocute.png?width=32 Electrocute is a good Rune because Akali can trade with abilities and auto enemies, especially melee ones. Akali has a high potential level 6 and can perform combos’ very quickly. I believe that Electrocute is going to be good on her.

cheap%2520shot1.png?width=32 Cheap Shot deals extra damage to enemies who are impaired- this works on Akali because your W is a slow and counts as an impairment.

Eyeball%20Collection.png?width=32 Eyeball Collection seems good on paper because you’re a mage and will be going for kills.

Ravenous%20Hunter.png?width=32 Ravenous Hunter is the only viable option of the three, and this counts as some sort of spell vamp.

For the second rune tree I recommend Sorcery

Celerity.png?width=32 Celerity is good because you’re an assassin and can get to enemies quicker.

Gathering%20Storm.png?width=32 Gathering Storm is good because free ability power…

Akali’s Passive is Twin Disciplines!

Akali’s First two basic attacks are empowered:

Discipline of Might | Akali’s First basic attack heals her.

Discipline of Force | Akali’s Second basic attack deals extra damage.

Screenshot_2.png

Akali’s Q is Mark of the Assassin!

Akali throws an object at an enemy taget dealing magic damage and marking them for 6 seconds. When attacked, the mark will detonate dealing bonus damage and restoring some energy.

Tip: You can use your Q to farm, especially in the early game. You can use it when last hitting under tower if need be. Whenever you use your Q make sure to Auto attack the enemy to deal extra damage.

Screenshot_2.png

Akali’s W is Twilight Shroud!

After a short delay Akali blinks to a nearby location leaving an invisible shield on the ground before casting. The area slows enemies in it, Akali gains movement speed aswell as being invisible. When she uses an ability or autos- she will become visible.

Tip: Your W can help you go over walls, doing it near a wall will make you more of a “ninja.” If you use this under tower, you will be seen. Your W is rather versatile and can be used offensively or defensively- beware of its energy cost because it can screw you over if you miss-use it.

Screenshot_3.png

Akali’s E is Crescent Slash!

Akali deals damage to all enemies around her in an AOE attack. If she kills an enemy, it is reduced by 60% Cooldown.

Tip: your E is on a short cooldown, however the cost is a lot. Be cautious of your energy levels and never spam it. You can use this to help push waves and should be used in conjunction with you other abilities to trade with enemies. When using this spell, make sure to deal damage to the enemy champions especially if they’re melee.

Screenshot_4.png

Akali’s R is Shadow Dance!

Passive: Akali periodically generates stacks that store up to three times

Active: Akali dashes to a target unit dealing magic damage and lands behind them.

Tips: Your Ultimate can be used on enemy champions, minions and jungle camps. When going for an engage make sure you have multiple stacks on your ultimate. This will save you if it goes downhill. I also recommend trying either the R Q combo, or Q R combo – read below for other combos.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

This is the recommended starting item for Akali
Take this if you're in a harder lane matchup
Dorans is good vs a heavy poke champion

Core Items

Your first major item will be Hextech Gunblade.
Next you should buy boots and upgrade them.
Your third major item will be Lichbane followed by Zhonyas .
deathcap and banshee are the final items for Akali

Situational Items

    Tank Akali Build
    Example Full Build

When the game starts you should see who the enemy toplaner is and then build your starting item off what they are and how good they are in lane. If you’re against a heavy poke champion such as Teemo- take Dorans shield or corrupting potion. The best start is The Dark Seal.

Your first major item will be Hextech Gunblade. Remember to use the active whenever you go for trades. This item grants Akali AP and AD which will works good on Akali as she is a hybrid damage dealer. The item also gives her healing.

Next you should buy boots. I recommend either Merc Treades, Sorcerer’s shoes or Ninja tabi. Buy the ones that she needs the most against the enemy team.

Your third major item will be Lich bane. This item will proc when she uses some of her abilities followed by an auto attack. The fourth item will be Zhonyas. This item gives Akali more damage and some defensive stats. This item will save us in a lot of situations and aid in helping us to survive for longer and deal more damage in team fights.

Your 5th and 6th item will be Banshee’s and Deathcap. These items give her lots more damage that will allow her to assassinate the enemies with ease.

Akali is very unique because she is both AP and AD. I recommend going a mixture of AD and AP with the build above. There are a lot of other items that you can build on her.

VS

Darius

Hard

Darius is hard to play against because of his auto damage and his passive. In this match up, I suggest playing passive and do not let him attack you for free. You will need to play safe, and not over greed or over extend. This is a terrible match up for you.

VS

Fiora

Medium

Fiora is rather annoying to play against because she is an AD champion and a fighter. In the early game you must not let her attack you for free, beware of her W as it can stop some of your abilities. In this lane you need to just farm and get ready for level 6 all in. If she is 6 and ults you, back off so she doesn't get the heal bonus.

VS

Gnar

Easy

This champion easy to play against however before level 6 Akali must not let him poke you down. He is rather squishy especially in the early game, so you must try to go for trades that are in your favor. For example, when he wastes his jump. This would be a good time to engage on him as he has no escape. You must not let him poke you down and put you behind especially early. Once you a level 6 his lane becomes much easier.

VS

Jax

Medium

If Jax uses his E then back off and usual W to escape. This is a frustrating lane because he is a fighter champion, try to poke him as much as possible with you Q auto attack combo. However do not let him trade if you long because he's an AD champion and we'll come out to her.

VS

Jayce

Medium

This matchup is hard because they have the Range advantage. All you need to do is Play safe and not get poked down by the enemy. At level 6 you should be able to all in them and have an easier time in lane. Try your best to not to get put down and fall behind, sacrifice CS for experience.

VS

Kayle

Hard

This matchup is hard because they have the Range advantage. All you need to do is Play safe and not get poked down by the enemy. At level 6 you should be able to all in them and have an easier time in lane. Try your best to not to get put down and fall behind, sacrifice CS for experience.

VS

Kled

Medium

In this match up you need to farm early and fight whenever he miss positions. If you can fight him where he goes into his second form then it should be easy kill for you. When he is Mountless, you should bust him down with your combo this is because he is less healthy and overall less strong.

VS

Malphite

Easy

This is an easy matchup because he is a tank champion. Akali does really well against tanks such as Malphite. Poke him early, and try to dodge his Out level 6. You can use your W to escape.

VS

Maokai

Easy

This is an easy matchup because he is a tank champion. Akali does really well against tanks especially Maokai because he is melee. In this match up you want to poke him and go for trades whenever possible, however be aware of his passive and do stay away from bushes as his saplings grow and will do extra damage if you're caught by them.

VS

Pantheon

Hard

Pantheon is hard to play against because he is one of the strongest early game champions in the game. For this lane, you need to play Safe and not over extend for farm. Unfortunately there is no easy way to win this lane except waiting for him to miss position and going out of mana. After level 6 this lane turns into your favour you just need to survive the early game.

VS

Quinn

Hard

This matchup is hard because they have the Range advantage. All you need to do is Play safe and not get poked down by the enemy. At level 6 you should be able to all in them and have an easier time in lane. Try your best to not to get put down and fall behind, sacrifice CS for experience.

VS

Riven

Hard

A good Riven will deny you as much CS as possible and abuse your early game weakness. To play against akali you need to outsmart the enemy and put yourself in a position where she hurt you for free. Whenever she comes to combo you, run away with your W. Try to poke her as much as possible and wait for her to out play herself.

VS

Ryze

Easy

This matchup is hard because they have the Range advantage. All you need to do is Play safe and not get poked down by the enemy. At level 6 you should be able to all in them and have an easier time in lane. Try your best to not to get put down and fall behind, sacrifice CS for experience.

VS

Sion

Easy

This is a tank matchup and easy for you. You must dodge his q, and not directly fight him. I recommend trying to poke him whenever possible. Try your best to gain a CS advantage, and to deny him as much as possible. You want to abuse your level six and go for extended traits. Pre-6 this is a farm lane. You can dodge his Q with your w or ultimate.

VS

Swain

Medium

This matchup is hard because they have the Range advantage. All you need to do is Play safe and not get poked down by the enemy. At level 6 you should be able to all in them and have an easier time in lane. Try your best to not to get put down and fall behind, sacrifice CS for experience.

VS

Teemo

Hard

This matchup is hard because they have the Range advantage. All you need to do is Play safe and not get poked down by the enemy. At level 6 you should be able to all in them and have an easier time in lane. Try your best to not to get put down and fall behind, sacrifice CS for experience.

VS

Vladimir

Medium

This matchup is hard because they have the Range advantage. All you need to do is Play safe and not get poked down by the enemy. At level 6 you should be able to all in them and have an easier time in lane. Try your best to not to get put down and fall behind, sacrifice CS for experience.

VS

Yasuo

Medium

This is a frustrating match up because he can run around you and deal lots of damage to you. Akali is quite weak early, so do not let him poke you down. Yasuo will win trades because of his Q, so you should try to dodge it as much as possible and do not let him trade with you for free always fight back however do not get too aggressive.

How to Play Akali in the Early Laning Phase (1-6) Back to Top

Akali's job early game is to just farm and try to be as productive as possible during the mid to late game where she shines. In the laning phase just farm up and go for trades whenever possible. Akali's Q is really good because it does extra damage if you auto attack the enemy as well- This can help you farm early. And your E will help you form to. Akali does not have mana so this allows you more freedom when using your abilities. Unfortunately, Akali is quite weak early game so you have to Sacrifice CS in lanes where you are not very strong. Playing against enemies who have a range advantage or a early game Fighters are hard to play against for Akali. When you are level 6, you usually have a much easier time in lane.

Unfortunately, Akali's early game is her weakest, and performing poorly in this period of the game will screw the rest of the game over for you.

Combo's Back to Top
