Summoner Spells Back to Top

4.png 14.png--> Most common summoner spells for Akali mid.

4.png 12.png--> Teleport is also a good option, but just less common for mid-lane Akali.

New Runes Back to Top

231.png
For Akali Mid, we want our Primary tree to be Domination; with Electrocute.png?width=32(Electrocute) since it works well with our kit and offers good burst, we then take Sudden%20Impact.png?width=32 (Sudden Impact) to gain extra penetration after we use our akalishadowdance.png (R). Following that, we take Eyeball%20Collection.png?width=32 (Eyeball Collection) for a little bit of extra damage for killing champions and clearing wards. Afterwards, we take Ravenous%20Hunter.png?width=32 (Ravenous Hunter) for a little bit of extra healing in combination with our akalipassive.png (Passive.) For our secondary tree, we take Bone%20Plating.png?width=32 (Bone-plating) for a little bit of added tankiness and survivability in lane. Following that, we take 5abd57da0f30230001f3edd9?width=32 (Chrysalis) which gives us a little bit of health to start the game, but after 4 take-downs is transformed into adaptive AP or AD, which is good since it helps us get through lane.

179.png
PRIMARY: Domination

Electrocute.png?width=32--> Electrocute works well with Akali's kit and combo's; and offers a good amount of burst in trades and all-in attempts.

Sudden%20Impact.png?width=32--> Sudden Impact gives us a little bit of extra lethality and magic penetration after we use our akalishadowdance.png (R) which helps us do a little more damage to a given target.

Eyeball%20Collection.png?width=32--> Eyeball Collection gives us a little bit of extra damage for killing champions and clearing out enemy wards.

Ravenous%20Hunter.png?width=32--> Ravenous Hunter gives us a little bit of extra healing from ability damage, and gives us a lot of sustain in combination with our akalipassive.png (Passive.)

179.png

SECONDARY: Resolve

Bone%20Plating.png?width=32--> Bone-plating helps us survive in lane by reducing our opponents damage output by just a little every so often. Given Akali's lane-phase isn't the best, this rune is super helpful for winning trades and surviving in lane.

5abd57da0f30230001f3edd9?width=32--> Chrysalis is a great option. Extra health that converts to adaptive damage is super good, plus we get the tanky stats bonus from running the resolve tree as our secondary.

PASSIVE: Twin Disciplines

Akali's first two attacks are empowered. The first strike heals her, and the second-strike deals bonus magic damage. Twin Disciplines will recharge itself automatically a short while after being used.

Akali passive.png
Akali's akalipassive.png (Passive) is our sustain and trading power in lane. Proper usage of our passive helps us survive in bad lanes, and snowball hard in favorable lanes. The second part of our passive can contribute to anElectrocute.png?width=32 proc, and that can be huge if manage our combinations and timing properly.

179.png
akalimota.png

Q-Ability: Mark of Assassin

Akali spins her kama at a target enemy to deal Magic Damage and mark the target for 6 seconds. Akali's melee attacks against a marked target will trigger and consume the mark to cause additional damage and restore Energy.

Akali throws her kama at a target enemy to deal 35/55/75/95/115 (+40% Ability Power) magic damage and mark the target for 6 seconds.Akali's melee attacks against a marked target will consume the mark to deal 45/70/95/120/145 (+50% Ability Power) magic damage and restore 40 energy.

Akali Q.png

Akali's akalimota.png (Q) is the basis for our trading. Proper usage of our akalimota.png (Q) and using it in combination with our akalipassive.png (Passive) and Electrocute.png?width=32(Electrocute) is essential if we want to do well on Akali. Our akalimota.png (Q) has a low cool-down, so we can constantly throw out akalimota.png (Q) in lane and threaten going in on them and proc'ing the bonus magic damage.
179.png
akalismokebomb.png

W-Ability: Twilight Shroud

Akali teleports to a nearby location, leaving a cover of smoke at her previous location. While inside the shroud, Akali becomes Invisible and gains Movement Speed. Attacking or using abilities will briefly reveal her. Enemies inside the smoke have their Movement Speed reduced.

Akali teleports to a nearby location, leaving a cover of smoke at her previous location that lasts for 8 seconds and slows enemies within its area by 14/18/22/26/30%.While inside the shroud Akali gains Invisibility and 20/40/60/80/100% movement speed. Attacking or using abilities briefly removes Invisibility.

Stealth - Invisible: Akali can only be revealed by nearby enemy Turrets or True Sight.

Akali W.png

Akali's akalismokebomb.png (W) is our survival and outplay tool in a fight or skirmish. Using our akalismokebomb.png (W) to wait for our cool-downs to come back up is important if we want to maximize our impact in a team-fight or in a side-lane, etc. We have an 8 second window (which is a long time) to setup and analyze our options in any given situation, so understanding what we need to do is important after we use our akalismokebomb.png (W.)
179.png
akalishadowswipe.png

E-Ability: Crescent Slash

Akali flourishes her kamas, dealing damage based on her bonus Attack Damage and Ability Power. When Crescent Slash kills a unit, it has a shorter cooldown.

Akali flourishes her kamas, slicing enemies for 70/100/130/160/190 (+80% bonus Attack Damage) (+60% Ability Power) physical damage. If Crescent Slash kills an enemy, its cooldown is refunded by 60%.

Akali E.png

Akali's akalishadowswipe.png (E) gives us added physical damage, which is good for mixing our damage output. This makes us hard to itemize against efficiently. Our akalishadowswipe.png (E) is our wave-clear tool and it can help us better manage the minion wave to benefit us. However, this ability has a low cool-down, so it can be spammed, just be sure you manage your energy properly.
179.png
akalishadowdance.png

R-Ability: Shadow Dance

Akali moves through shadows to quickly strike through her target, dealing damage and consuming an Essence of Shadow charge. Akali recharges Essence of Shadow charges periodically, max 3 stacks.

Akali quickly strikes through her target, dealing 50/100/150 (+35% Ability Power) magic damage.Akali stores an Essence of Shadow on kills and assists as well as every NaN seconds up to 3 total.

Akali R.png

Akali's akalishadowdance.png (R) is our main mobility and engage tool. We have 3 stacks to utilize, so we have a lot of charges to chase a target if they flash or something along those lines. A basic combo I like using for post-level 6 trades is akalimota.png->akalishadowdance.png->Auto Attack to proc the Q->akalishadowswipe.png to proc Electrocute.png?width=32and then we can disengage with our akalismokebomb.png.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

    Standard Start.
    More of a defensive start.

Core Items

    Standard damage build.
    High damage build.
    TF Blade's standard build.
TF Blade's build against AD-heavy compositions.

Situational Items

Not a bad options some games. More so against champions with a lot of healing or sustain.
Not a bad defensive buy over spirit visage if they have champions like Brand, Malz, Kog, etc.
Not super common, but not bad early against compositions with a lot of magic damage threats.
231.png
1082.png--> Dark seal is a higher risk buy, but it's great if we start snowballing and then eventually upgrade it into a 3041.png (mejai's.) The extra potion duration is super helpful for lane.

1054.png--> Doran's shield is good against poke lanes and lanes who can pressure you. HP, health regen, and a little bonus damage to minions.

3020.png--> Most common boots bought on Akali. Extra magic penetration and movement speed are valuable stats.

3047.png--> Ninja tabi is good against AD comps and AD threats. Reducing basic attack damage by 10% and giving us 20 armor is really good at handling and dueling AD champions.

3111.png--> Merc treads are great against CC and magic damage. The tenacity helps prevent you from getting locked down, and the magic resist is good against AP threats.

3146.png--> Gunblade is super important for Akali. The extra damage, sustain, and awesome active make it a perfect item for her.

3100.png--> One of Akali's other core items (if you're not going the TF Blade build.) Ability power, movement speed, cool-down reduction, and mana are all valuable stats. We also get the Spellblade passive which does a lot of damage and is good at taking towers and objectives.

3157.png--> Great buy for going deep into the enemy team and playing aggressive. We can hard engage and rely on the invulnerability as our team follows up. Ability power, armor, and cool-down reduction are all valuable stats.

3135.png--> Extra magic penetration is good at killing their front-line. It also gives us a bit of Ability Power.

3089.png--> Deathcap is usually bought later on (such as 4th/5th item, depending on the state of the game.) Lots of ability power which helps us output more damage.

3102.png--> Ability power, magic resist, and cool-down reduction are all good stats for Akali. Plus, the passive spell-shield is super good against other AP threats, and can offer outplay potential.

3151.png--> Liandry's torment gives us health and AP, and helps us cut through tanky frontliners with some burn damage.

3116.png--> Rylai's offers us tankiness and the slow which is good for chasing and engaging fights. Overall, the item is decent on Akali.

3026.png--> Guardian Angel usually rounds out our build (if we're going the defensive build against AD that TF Blade uses.) It allows us to go deep into the enemy team and cause mayhem while being able to rely on the revive.

Playing as Akali Back to Top

231.png
Early game: Our goal early game is to farm up and play for our level 6. Post-level 6, we want to try to use our akalishadowdance.png to snowball. We can do this via roaming or going hard on our laner. Make sure we ward and play smart throughout the early game so we don't fall super far behind pre-6 due to the fact we died to ganks or roams from the enemy teams laners.

Mid-game: Mid game we want to be active and going for plays with our team. We've most likely already completed a few items, so we should be pretty strong at this point. We can also go into a side-lane and split-push if we like, or we can stay with our team and team-fight. Continuing to farm is good, and making good plays in combination with your team is the way to go. Akali does very well mid-game, and using our item-spikes (such as 3146.png) to snowball from this point onward is ideal.

Late game: Late game Akali is a monster. She does a lot of damage in a very short amount of time, and has a lot of survivability with her akalismokebomb.png (W.) We need to utilize our damage and position correctly in team-fights so we can get the best entry onto their back-line and threaten their carries. Positioning is the big thing here; we need to be in a spot to punish the enemy team and or enemy carries if they walk too far forward or make a misstep, since we can gap close easily with our akalishadowdance.png (R.)

About me Back to Top

231.png
I began playing league around the start of season 4 and picked up Yasuo around March of that year, and have remained a dedicated main since then (My favorite skin is High-noon, and I like all of the chroma's). After a few months of dedicated playing, my main account hit platinum 2 in season 5 and my smurf had reached diamond. Following that, in season 6 I was able to cruise into Diamond smoothly on my main account and currently in season 7 (as you probably saw by my lolking link). I ended season 7 in Diamond 5 sadly because I didn't have a lot of time to grind out games, and because I was simply not good enough to climb to where I wanted to be. I did however peak Diamond 3, 100 LP (D2 promos), so while I'm not yet where I want to be, I know I can do it in the future.
