Amumu Overview

The goal with 32.png Amumu:

You ideally want to have a good early game jungle path to scale well without dying to enemy invades. He is a GREAT anti tank and it's important to pick him along with other ability power champions such as 134.pngSyndra or 8.pngVladimir on your team. This way you can apply your passive, amumupassive.png Cursed Touch with your other teammates and which applies 10% true damage with their magic damage sources! Ganking is amazing post-6, so every game it's ideal to path in the jungle well to get your Ultimate curseofthesadmummy.png Curse of the Sad Mummy as fast as possible. The Resolve Runes are to take the enemy team's late game out of the picture! 32.pngAmumu naturally gets tanky, so zoning the enemy team is a great pro that he has for teamfighting & grouping up. 8210.png?width=32Transcendence is a great rune choice for early Cooldown Reduction. Completing 3110.pngFrozen Heart grants you 20% cooldown reduction and scales well versus fed AD enemy champions who rely on attack speed. If you're versus critical strike ADCs such as 157.pngYasuo or 202.pngJhin,  3143.png Randuin's Omen is a great item to counter them with.

New Runes Back to Top

dot-pattern.pngResolve:

8439.png?width=64Aftershock is great since it gives you great tank and damage stats early on and scales throughout the game. It has a damage proc after immobilizing an enemy champion with a 35 second cooldown.

8463.png?width=64Font of Life is great for when you group with your teammates 5v5. When you impair enemy champions with your crowd control (ex ultimate on multiple targets) and they follow up with their damage, they will heal for a percentage of your maximum health.

8429.png?width=64Conditioning gives you really good Armor and Magic resit stats, however only after 10 minutes have passed in the game. It is a great choice if you plan to build Armor and Magic Resist, your tankiness will scale later on.

8242.png?width=64After casting a Summoner Spell, you gain Tenacity and Slow Resistance for 10 seconds! You also gain Tenacity and Slow Resistance for each Summoner Spell on Cooldown.

dot-pattern.pngSorcery:

8236.png?width=64Gain increasing AD or AP (adaptive) throughout the course of the game. 10min: +8AP, 20min: 24AP, 30min: 48AP, 40min: 80AP, etc.

8224.png?width=64Gain a Magic Damage Shield when you are taken to low health.

8234.png?width=64 & 8210.png?width=64 Are both decent options, however you have to stack both of these with more movement speed (Celerity) or exceed the CDR cap (Transcendence) to get the most stats. Personally I like Celerity more than Transcendence since you only get 10% at level 10, then you have to build full CDR to get the bonus AP (adaptive damage).

Cursed Touch

amumupassive.png
Passive: When you auto attack an enemy, the target is cursed for 3 seconds. Cursed targets receive 10% bonus true damage from all incoming magic damage, calculated before their magic resist reduction. AKA Tons of damage; this is why you should pick 32.pngAmumu when you have a lot of ability power on your team for maximum damage >:)

Bandage Toss

bandagetoss.png

Q: This is a very long ranged skillshot with a wind-up time, similar to Thresh's hook (Death Sentence). When landed, it stuns the enemy for 1 second and pulls Amumu towards them like a slingshot! You can get very tricky with this ability for engaging or escaping with minions and camps, as well as pathing quicker through the jungle and combining it with 4.png .

Despair

auraofdespair.png
W (Toggle): Amumu starts crying and surrounds himself in a circle of tears! They do damage over time (every half of a second) depending on the amount of ability power you have, along with more damage depending on the enemy's max HP. Despair auraofdespair.png refreshes your passive Cursed Touch amumupassive.png and drains mana fast, so keep this in mind when you're not fighting you'll need it later :)

Tantrum

tantrum.png
E: Passive: Amumu takes reduced damage from each and every physical attack.
Active: Nearby enemies are attacked by  Amumu's 32.pngheadBang. Tantrum's cooldown is also reduced by 0.5 seconds every time Amumu is hit by a basic attack.

Curse of the Sad Mummy

curseofthesadmummy.png
R: Amumu entangles surrounding enemies for 2 seconds, dealing magic damage and applying curse for [b]3 seconds. This is a CORE ability to land on the enemy backline that can turn games around town due to it's large radius :D It's great for engaging and disengaging fights.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Talisman Gives Mana Regen, These Are The Best Starting Items for Amumu!
Rush Cinderhulk, The best jungle item for Amumu 100%. Skirmishers Sabre + Runic Echoes is also a good smite choice if you want to get tricky ;)

Core Items

Deadman's Plate COMPLETELY DESTROYS enemy AD champions when you are ahead. Be sure to grab this item before Liandry's Torment if you are behind. Rylai's is a great item to buy while ahead, and these are the main core items that make you unstoppable!

Situational Items

This build gives you a lot of defensive stats, movement speed and pressure. I personally build these items majority of my games and have the most success.
