Summoner Spells Back to Top

As 34.png you always take 4.png because 4.png is the best summoner spell in the game, and you are the slowest champion in the game, enough said. other than that in the  slot you have 5 good options, i will rank them in order of personal preference.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------1----------------------------------------------------------------------
14.png is for aggressive game play and securing kills, which after killing you can go back to the home plate and shop/get back manna. It is also a good way of making healers useless as an added benefit. Use it on fed ppl like 420.png19.png75.png and 36.png in teamfights if they are healing to much, as well as any stupid adcs/drain tanks/lifesteal stackers who come into range.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------2----------------------------------------------------------------------
3.png is a great spell since it is on a lower cd than  and reduced damage dealt on top of movespeed. It can be used diversely to avoid 30% of an assassins burst, or to slow someone to make them unable to avoid  to make the followup combo devastating.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------3----------------------------------------------------------------------
12.png is taken for the same reasons it is taken toplane, but with a perk. It makes for better map pressure and better flanking/ganking, but has the added benefit of being able to save your egg in a pinch. i take this if i think that /will be to risky to use effectively, since this can be used defensively or offensively.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------4----------------------------------------------------------------------
21.png/7.png are for receiving health back/avoiding burst, but since  is not effective in a solo lane and  just lets you avoid 455 flat damage/heal 345 health exhaust is better since it will reduce all damage by 30%. however if up against an artillery mage (99.png101.png115.png ect.) barrier may be a better option since they all have a way to lock you down and blast you to oblivion from outside exhaust's range

Masteries Back to Top

I take this set because i like dft better than thunderlords for a few reasons.

  • dft has an indicator on spell hit, allowing you to use abilities to scout brush
  • dft deals more damage to people who take less than 3 damage procs
  • ult is a dot effect, so multiple reaplications in a teamfight,
  • as long as you have ~190 AP and keep DFT applied to your target it deals as much damage as a thunderlords proc in 15 seconds, with thunderlords at lvl 18. and since when do you have 190 AP at lvl 18. keep in mind there is no lvl scaling on DFT, just a flat 8, Plus 25% of your ap.
Still not convinced here are two graphs I made to prove my point, with thunderlords at its strongest, aka biased against dft, because the proc deals the most damage, and has its lowest cooldown that it can have.

for ratios and other stats see link below

Anivia_Q.png
-flash frost-
Q
a good utility spell, 1.5 second stun and 40% slow at its strongest, damage is considerably less than e but utility is amazing.

Anivia_W.png

-crystallize-
W
due to the fact that it deals a knock back it can actually be used to stop dashes, although it is probably better to use it after the dash completes to space the enemy from yourself. with the correct angling, it can be used to path your enemies straight into q enabling a nice combo.

Anivia_E.png

-frostbite-
E
Bread and butter spell, use it if the enemy has the iced debuff (which is not a cc so it cant be cleansed even if the cc applying it is)

Anivia_R.png

-glacial storm-
R
Due to its ramp up time you will have to predict team fights where the enemy will have to step in your ultimate to contest the objective, other than that defending it in a teamfight is important to make sure it is used to maximum potential.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Great start, extra sustain from the dark seal lets you take a little more damage, glory passive Is a great passive for if you get ahead.
Good start if you need better mana sustain.
Good start if you need heavy sustain and dodge potential/ms four pots also works although it costs more and is much worse in the long run

Core Items

This is your early focus. You should be able to get this on your first or second recall. to stack this efficiently pop your q as soon as u back activating it both times very fast then ult as soon as the passive cd is down, move to the edge of the fountain, buy your items/wait for full hp/manna, then turn off your ult and leave
amaising build with 2 slots worth of flexibility
for if u want dat 40% cdr.
This has a really trash cd now, so it is basically only good if you are ahead, or if multiple people get it to ward up the allied jungle.
elixir of sorcery is a great late-game buy, with rabadons it effectively gives 67.5 ap and the mana regen is great too.
THis item can replace liandry's but if you have it you should be stacking it with liandry's since liandry's synergies with Anivia so well

Situational Items

if you are uber-fed early and they are feeding/cant touch you this is great to snowball
If you don't wanna stack rod or like the active, grab this. for a comparison they have the same stats after 6 mins.
I don't really like this item, as it works best on people who have a spell that gives them some sort of auto buff, like ekko or mordekaiser, because it disables spells for .2 seconds after landing.
Get this vz ppl who can actually 1-shot u or who have long range cc with an indicator of some sort, so you can keep your ulti channeled, or not die in the assassin case.
great for pushing a tower when not in lane, given your insane zone control it can also be used to devastate your lane, and the resists do not go unnoticed.
    AP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
morellonomicon is an amasing item with ap cdr and mana, with a passive that makes sure you never run out of mana since it restores like 600 mana per kill/assist, i always get it if i dont need a defensive item in the slot

order for items is1082.png>3027_64.png>3020.png>3135_64.png>or<3151_64.png>3040_64.png>35.png36.png

reason being

1082.png-great starter, the mana is great and kills and assists give AP making you snowball harder every time

3070_32.png-a must-buy for first item, helps stack it into a seraphs embrace.

3010_32.png-because ur gonna be using spells and taking some damage this is great, lets you scrap with the best of em.

3027_32.png- better than hextech glp stat wise after 6 mins, also cheaper, but no active.

3020.png3158.png-faster = more map presence = more objectives = more wins.

3135.png3151_32.png-both increase magic pen, and have the same ap, void staff is better against stacked resistances liandry,s is better against max health - low resistance tanks, and squishes. buy depending on the situation.

3003_32.png-get this next and you will never run out of mana.

3040_32.png ^ alone it has 80 AP with its passive it gets about 94 more, active is op.

35.png - item slots, after the 4 item core the last two should be decided situationally based off the enemy and allied team comps

2139_32.png-buy 1 of these every time you recall when your build is finished

VS

Ahri

Hard

she has better poke ability from ahriorbofdeception.png than you with frostbite.pngglacialstorm.png and it is not easy for you to reciprocate because it gives her a speed boost, her ahriseduce.png dosnt cancel your ulti wich is a good thing, and her mobility is from her ult, so overall not the worst, but still hard.

VS

Akali

Easy

she cant reallt ouch you pre six, and post six her akalismokebomb.png is the same size as your glacialstorm.png at max scaled size, her burs is kinda to be feared later on. bait out her akalishadowdance.pngand when she uses it flashfrost.png behind yourself, it will get her.

VS

Annie

Medium

with infernalguardian.pngchanges she can actually mess u up if u let her into tibbers range, so make sure her stun is down before u harass, and if she infernalguardian.png use your wall to separate him from you, if its a stun tibbers, srry my man your dead, unless ur not. also moltenshield.png gives dmg reduction, wait it out before trading.

TL,DR: ez but stun tibbers has no counter play.

VS

Aurelion Sol

Easy

he is immobile, and loses his dash upon champion damage, your flashfrost.png cancels his aurelionsolW.png making him miss a valuable cool down and opening him up to a harass window.

VS

Azir

Medium

this is greatly dependent on the azirs skill level, a bad asir will use both azirW.png and follow up with a azirQ.png to your current location. if they do this walk towards them and give em a frostbite.pngglacialstorm.png to the face as their only option from there is to walk slowly away or azirE.png to your front-line. if htey are good they will use 1 soldier, if they do that they have to many options from thier so backoff.
TL,DR: ez if bad hard if good. so medium.

VS

Brand

Medium

this guy is pretty easy since he is immobile, and that is the dream, but make sure brandfissure.png never hits you, as it is his primary damage, and hurts a butt tonne. care for the brandconflagration.pngbrandblaze.png combo.

VS

Cassiopeia

Easy

this is pretty easy. you have no mobility abilities, so cassiopeiamiasma.png is basically useless. cassiopeiatwinfang.png deals no damage unless you are poisoned, and using flashfrost.png (since cassiopeiatwinfang.png makes her stop moving to use it) can zone her off while dealing considerable damage, even if she does get you poisoned. because a flashfrost.png on a target that cant move is perfect.

VS

Cho'Gath

Easy

He is literally the easiest thing to shut down, and as long as he is shut down he is killable.
rupture.png is decently easy to dodge feralscream.png is annoying but has a low range, and he is imobile meaning you can easily get him with a flashfrost.png

VS

Diana

Medium

she is basically ez but her dianaE.png is a nightmare, her dianaR.png can set up an e but is also able to be canceled with crystallize.png(see walling and mastering it section) and dianaQ.png is decently easy to predict, only rated medium because of dianaE.png if you don't get poked you will be fine, play passive you out scale her.

VS

Ekko

Easy

he is pretty easy to fight, his ekkoQ.png does less damage than your chilled frostbite.png and is his only poke and has a much higher cd, his ekkoE.png and ekkoR.png can be annoying, but are easily enough used defensively, which means if he isn't fed he is very easy for anivia, solely because he cant out trade her.

VS

Ezreal

Easy

dodge his ezrealmysticshot.png make him burn his ezrealarcaneshift.png and kill him while it is on cd. overall pretty easy if you avoid the poke, as you can kill him with 1 combo.

VS

Fizz

Hard

while his fizzjump.png is annoying and many consider him the anivia counter pick, he is melee and easy enough to bully in the early levels, if he uses fizzjump.png defensively, he is susceptible for at the least 4.8 seconds, so make him use that to dodge a small spell or an e with no crit, then followup if he goes ham. avoid fizzmarinerdoom.png at all costs and care for if he fizzpiercingstrike.png right after he fizzjump.png so u don't shoot your flashfrost.png in the wrong direction. on the harder side but artillery mages are harder to deal with than assassins, althogh as far as assassins go, he is the worst to face.

VS

Galio

Medium

he may be picked into you and stack mr, when he does this it is fine, you just wont kill him, but avoid his galioidolofdurand.png at all costs. it can be safely canceled from a distance using your crystallize.pnglook to roam for kill gold as you wont be able to kill him unless he is stupid.

VS

Gragas

Easy

ap gragas mid isnt that hard as he is squish, care for his gragasbodyslam.png and gragasexplosivecask.pnginto fully channeledgragasbarrelroll.png combo and you will be fine.

VS

Heimerdinger

Medium

his h28gevolutionturret.png is annoying his ch1concussiongrenade.png cancels glacialstorm.png and his hextechmicrorockets.png deals a lot of damage but if you kill his h28gevolutionturret.pngs with glacialstorm.png and hide behind the creep wave and you will be fine.

VS

Jhin

Medium

Ranged bully, if you catch him out he is dead tho. care for jhinW.png and jhinR.png

VS

Karthus

Easy
laywaste.png is spamy, but makes him stop moving, wallofpain.png and defile.png really do nothing against you and his fallenone.png is only scary if you don't have egg.

VS

Kassadin

Hard

his riftwalk.png spaminess is very annoying, and he takes reduced magic damage, his nulllance.png is a magic shield, and overall isn't a nice matchup, farm and ping on roams.

VS

Katarina

Medium

your flashfrost.png cancels her deathlotus.png, egg denies her passive, care forbouncingblades.pngas it is good harass, don't let her detonate daggers if they land near you, drop your ult on them, to force her to take damage if she tries .if she roams ping the crap out of the lane she went to ward brush to see her coming back and when u do see her, make sure to stay at least your e range away from her, as outside of that yo can ignore her engage.

VS

Kayle

Easy

even though she has kayleR.png it doesn't really matter as you out trade her, so she should only ever use it to prevent her death, if she tries to use it to enable her to win a trade, disengage immediately. other than that you will win, as if it is used defensively she can either give up levels or her life while it is on cd.

VS

Kennen

Easy

even though he is ranged, his stacking to 3 passive stacks requires use of kennenlightningrush.png, which needs him to go melee, which means you out trade him. care for his kennenshurikenstorm.png in ganks and team-fights. on the harder end of easy.

VS

Kha'Zix

Easy

this is an easier matchup, as he cant cancel your ult, but he use evolved khazixQ.png to kill an isolated egg solo, so don't get caught out....EVER!

VS

Kog'Maw

Easy

you can 1shot him but his kogmawbioarcanebarrage.png will let him deal about half your health in a worst case scenario before dying. if he is AP then his kogmawvoidooze.png and kogmawlivingartillery.png can hurt a lot, but then he cant really trade with you.

VS

LeBlanc

Easy

reworked Leblanc is pretty easy to fight off, just stay behind minions far enough away that a leblancslide.png has to be target selected at either you or the minions so the leblancchaosorb.png bounce doesn't get you, never plain out engage her because it may be an leblancmimic.pngleblancmimic.png clone and you will have blown valuable cool downs on her deception, and she may be lurking to get you while you have no cool downs.

VS

Lissandra

Easy

lisandra doesn't have a lot going for her i this matchup. her lissandraQ.png is the only thing that can easily hit you, and is blocked by minions, making it easy to avoid, and her lissandraW.png is pretty close to melee. if she uses lissandraE.png to engage then she cant get out of flashfrost.png and will die, unless she lissandraR.png's you, in which case she can at most pop your egg. overall you out trade her ez.

VS

Lulu

Medium

her lulue.png is bs which negates more than half of frostbite.png's damage, she can slow you with luluq.png and speed herself with luluw.png and her lulur.png makes 14.png useless, she cant solo kill you tho, so this is very static, and overall i would recommend avoiding it as it basically shuts you down.

VS

Lux

Hard

her luxlightbinding.png means that you cant approach for the frostbite.pngglacialstorm.png combo post 6, and her luxmalicecannon.png lets her finish you after a bad trade. her luxlightstrikekugel.png is pretty fast and her luxpassive.png means getting hit by anything sets you up for hella damage. luxprismaticwave.png isn't as bs as lulu shield at blocking combos but still is pretty bs, especially on a max range ally.

VS

Malzahar

Medium

accually pretty hard because his voidlings can rape u while he ults, but there are 2 saving graces, 1 you can snare him with your wall as he doesn't take the knock back sticking him inside it, and 2 he cant touch you without ult as his voidlings die in it.

VS

Mordekaiser

Easy

he really cant touch you, and your egg prevents him from  getting his ghost, if  he forgets about it, keep him zoned tho, his burst isn't to be laughed at unless he is full tank.

VS

Morgana

Medium

her shield means that your er combo is less effective, bus as it dosnt remove cc, if you slow her first, you can still crit, never get hit by her darkbindingmissile.png ever

VS

Nidalee

Medium

herjavelintoss.png is really bursty, essentially keeping you zoned behind your minions. ping when she roams and don't follow unless you are sure she has actually roamed and is not just waiting in a bush for you.

VS

Orianna

Hard

her orianaizunacommand.png out ranges your frostbite.png, she can instaclear withorianaizunacommand.pngorianadissonancecommand.pngorianaredactcommand.png in quick succession, and her orianadetonatecommand.png can disable your glacialstorm.png.

VS

Ryze

Easy

although he can burst you pretty damn fast, and synergies with the new 3027.png very well, you out range him and can stun him quite easily, beware realm warps with the full team, they can devastate you, but if your ult is off cd, you can place it on the warning indicator, and it will lock them into a fully channeled ult as a landing spot XD.

VS

Swain

Medium

he cant really harm you, although his healing is op, he really will never be able to 1shot you and you have the cc you need to get away, killing him will be hard, look for good roams.

VS

Syndra

Easy

her syndraE.png has decent range and cancels your ult, and her ability's do deal decent damage, but she cant accually kill your egg unless she is fed, she is immobile so this is a pretty easy matchup in lane.

VS

Taliyah

Medium

in this matchup, she can land taliyahW.png pretty easily, because you are immobile, but you both are, you also both have walls, and max damage combos. you are both quite similar, and really just punish each others mistakes, so make sure your not the one making them, also manage the creep wave with glacialstorm.png post six so she cant get off a full taliyahQ.png.

VS

Talon

Medium

this lane is all about mind games, he has stealth but if you watch the ground carefully chill leaves a trail on the ground, and he will shimmer to let you see where it starts, allowing blind flashfrost.png hits off of him ulting to you and going into glacialstorm.png, his taloncutthroat.png gives him extreme mobility, so never commit a 4.png unless it is for the killing blow.

VS

Twisted Fate

Medium

you outrange his autos, which means you already have a large advantage, but he has his destiny.png for flanking, and wildcards.png for ranged trading, but you can other than that pull off your trade combo outside of his range entirely.

VS

Vel'Koz

Medium

this guy is all about managing the creeps so he can fully stack velkozpassive.png, but, you can countermanage them with your waveclear combos, try to frostbite.pngglacialstorm.png when his velkozE.png is off cooldown, and other than that play it safe

VS

Viktor

Medium

being one of the stronger mages out there his deservs respect, but it is easier for you to damage him with an frostbite.pngglacialstorm.png combo than for him with an viktordeathray.pngviktorpowertransfer.png, beware his viktorgravitonfield.png because you are too slow to get out of a direct center hit.

VS

Vladimir

Easy

even tho he is ez, this guy is a pain, his vladimirsanguinepool.png makes him able to dodge your frostbite.pngglacialstorm.png, but at a high cost, and his vladimirtransfusion.png keeps him healthy. Even tho this is the case,he cant really one shot you, and doesn't have enough damage to be a relevant threat, beware ganks and avoid trading as he can as aforementioned dodge it, and also heal it off, but you can easily play the farm game and since 3152.png cant get over crystallize.png he can only escape that with 4.png.

VS

Xerath

Hard

this guys range is ridiculous, and he can clear waves like hek, avoid letting him auto you, because it quintuples his mana regen from his passive, other than that play the farm game.

VS

Yasuo

Hard

f this guy, his yasuoE.png has no cooldown, his yasuoW.png gives him vision so he can yasuoE.pngyasuoW.png over walls and yasuoW.png blocks your autos, frostbite.png and flashfrost.png, his yasuoQ.png is broken cooldownwise, and his yasuoR.png is a blink that makes u locked down for a whole extra second, which is anywhere from 50% to 500% more than the knockup effects time based on which league champ made u fly away, but with yasuoW.png down he really cant do jack vs you at range, so if you wish to trade do it then, also early on auto him to break his passive, or make him clutch yasuoW.png, because he thought it was an ability.

TL,DR:
He is a pain in the ass but with yasuoW.png down and him being a decent way away, without a nice path of minions to let him yasuoE.png onto you, he isn't that bad.

VS

Zed

Medium

your passive is the reason that this isnt a hard lane, he beats you in every sense, max damage from combo, base speed, speed he gets from meta items, and ability do dodge crap, your saving grace, is that your egg pops his zedR.png when it procs meaning if your under tower, he cant solo kill you. So avoid fighting him, a quick combo if he goes aggressive is fine but thats it, but other than that, AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS!!! also counter roam him, but safely, so make sure you have both brushes warded so you know where he went, so you can follow at a safe distance.

VS

Ziggs

Medium

He easily out ranges you, i mean he is an artillery mage, but still it is quite easy to oneshot him, just make picks and farm, and you'll be fine.

VS

Zyra

Easy

Post rework, mid zyra isn't really a thing anymore, because her damage was lowered in fovour of utility, but if you do see her just avoid being near herzyraW.png's and you'll be able to avoid her big damage combos.

Pros and Cons Back to Top

Pros
  • 6 second cooldown ult
  • 2nd highest base aa range(600)
  • wall lets you scout up to 2177 units away from yourself and if placed right on 2 sides of a wall and in a brush at the same time for 5 seconds
  • 3 cc abilities
  • 100% ap ratio on e if you set up properly
  • 2 abilities with aoe cc
  • ez to make choke points
  • good kite with slows stun and wall
  • very good if not best farm ability in game
  • good at punishing roaming assassins by taking their towers
  • egg means you can go aggressive early and win "both die trades" because you won't actually die
Cons
  • high mana costs, very mana hungry (negated by tear/morello/eternity passive from RoA)
  • stun is a skillshot
  • Q moves slowly(850 movespeed)
  • low hp pool(RoA)
  • very slow champ(325 base movespeed, which is the lowest in the game atm(other than unmounted kled).)

Survival Back to Top

Anivia is a hard to kill bird unless caught out, and even then unless its a master yi or fizz you can give your agressor a run for his money with your very potent cc and wall. tips to survive laning phase are:

  1. zone well and punish ppl 4 farming
  2. make shure you always have enough manna to stun
  3. ward!! 3361_32.png - if you don't do this you will die very fast to ganks. get a fiew control wards for objectives as well
  4. do not ever go ham, getting a recall is better than taking a large risk for a potential kill, especially if you dont know where the jungler is

Zoning Back to Top

these zones should be created to keep lane pressure (only seen from blue side, when playing on red team try to reverse(green all the way to the enemy walls))(when pushing a turret alone be prepared to pull out at any second, keep your stun available, and your wall available ward to make sure it is safe)

(ganks pull the green zone all the way back to your tower, so make sure to get back asap)

Key:

Green = safe zone for you, high pressure for enemy with neutral laneing

Yellow = enemy no pressure zone /extent of your power with neutral laneing

Red = enemy turret range use q to poke into this when you are pushing unless they can avoid it/punish you if you don't have it (after firing pull out or u will proc turret aggro) and when they are farming under turret so they are stunned and zoned, and their turret will take the last hits, post six use ulti for this purpose.

mid%28beta%29zoning.png

Last hitting and CS Back to Top

Anivia has a decent range and good autos for the early levels, auto a melee minion as soon as the wave arrives and memorize your damage number that pops off of its head, after this wait until it is just under this number and shoot. if there is high aggro use your e to secure the last hit.

post 6 drop an ult stun the cannon and as many melees as possible in it, if there is a cannon use e on it.

Warding Back to Top

Warding is very important for survival, you always want to ward the spots 3 and 4. 1 and 2 are optional for when you are being camped, and you expect the jungler is in that bush, and also for local pinks. The reason for this is, that 3 and 4 give the most vision control, and give advance warning of the approach of a jungler, when the jg is coming you wanna get under your tower, but if you are pushed up you need to see them from that far away or you will be flanked, and most likley die.

your wall gives vision when placed if you expect someone is waiting for you to overextend then place your wall on the wall of the river with one end in the brush, this placement causes you to be able to see most of the river and some jungle lanes without getting close enough to be hit by a skillshot. if there is no-one there go to behind the river wall and ward into the bush close to the wall.

try to put your control ward at baron or dragon wherever your jungler wants vision, if you dont need it, this is soloque after all, and your life is the most important. If you do however give the jg your pink, put it as close to being on a wall as possible so it is less likley to be noticed by a person just walking by, at dragon put them in the little waterfall closer to bot than mid it cant be seen by passers by and will notify you of any attempt to take dragon by the enemies (shown by pink dot). if the jungler is killing you 24/7 and can go invisible use your pink ward in spot 1 or 2 on the most frequent gank side over giving it to your jg, for sure.

the wards beside in the jungle lanes in enemy territory are for if an enemy champion who you know can kill you ez is somewhere but you don't know where, that way if he shows up you will have advanced warning so you can     stun-->ult-->wall-->kill or run away depending on the situation if they try to gank.

Remember, this is season six, the season with reduced vision compared to others, vision is important, it wins games, make sure everyone has pinks early, and if pinks aren't an option late then blues, but defend your pinks, and they will regen health, don't forget that.

If the jungler is a stealth gank jungler (28.png107.png29.png are best examples) who can approach the lane from stealth, ward their camps, that way you get an idea of where they are at all times even if they are avoiding all the wards, unless hey are not leveling up, in which case they are not a threat.

Note: if you are under siege ward the base gates, this way you will know when its safe to leave through them or not and/or gank through the jungle after the team fight initiation.

Walling and mastering it Back to Top

Anivia has some pretty self explanatory abilities. A skillshot that stuns upon reactivation or reaching max range, a single target ability that deals double damage to impared targets, and a zone of power that grows over 3 seconds. But one thing that isn't self explanitory is her wall. Her wall is a unique ability, kinda like a trundle pillar but since it is flat it also uses angles based off of your current location. it has a knock back aspect to it that is highly underrated, can snare people for 5 seconds if they don't have a mobility spell available, and one of the only abilities in the game that can kill your allies. I will go in depth into all its possible uses, some of which are flat out op.

The first use of this ability, the one that everyone knows about, and beginners often screw up, blocking off a path completely. This use alone is very strong, and very deadly, and requires a lot of skill to do just right. Due to the fact that it has a knock back (which we will go into the uses of later), it effectively completely blocks off a 50 unit radius directly around the center of the wall, so if someone is there it makes it a high pressure situation, seeing as if you are trying to keep them away from yourself a screw up of 50 units placement is the difference between them needing to use a mobility spell to keep up, vs you not having a valuable cd for when they do use it. Also it holds the same interaction for allies as it does for enemies, meaning that a small screw up could kill an allied locking them in with the enemies for 5 seconds. This does a lot and below there is a diagram of the different choke points you can make impassable but this is its most bland use, although definitely its most powerful (debatably). if you are chasing leave a small gap between the wall because you can cc the gap and that way if they flash you/your team don't have to flash to follow.

Walls that levels 1-3 in the spell can lock down will be represented in Teal.
Walls that levels 4-5 in the spell can lock down will be represented in Green.

The other most commonly known use is to make a choke point. This is achived by simply placing the wall at an angle making the quickest rout for the enemies contesting an objective or chasing you/your team to go straight into a very thin formation, making them vulnerable to aoe cc abilitys, a flank from a team member, or an optimal position for team members like brand to fight them in. with your new ult, a good use of it is to sit close to the area where the enemy team is sitting waiting safely to make a high pressure contest over an objective, into thier slaughter, should they still decide to contest it. With a fully grown ult nothing in the game but a lone master yi or olaf can make it through withought being slowed (Morgana's shield will be worn down if she tries).  This means that your team gets a free objective, and probably a few kills, and is debatably stronger then flat out walling off the choke point for a fiew reasons. The first is it allows you to position yourself diagonally away from the opposing team, second it makes using a mobility spell not completely negate the ability, as it gets them just a bit through your ult, and still leaves them slowed, and means flashing over the wall is a less likely option, allowing you to better set up your stun. In the context of chasing a wall can completly screw the enemy team either you make them waste precious seconds to keep their formation together, or you set up a q stun, making them wast precious seconds, overall it just makes them take longer, and sometimes gets them killed.

The next use, also debatably the most powerful aspect to this ability, is it can be used to cancel most channeled abilities, and cancel dashes mid flight. to cancel either you just cast the wall at the current location of the champion, which is harder in the case of the dash, but still doable. this is just amaising as it ads so much versatility to the way you play, as having a wall means you can cancel an assasins dash if they decide to go ham, and due to the fact it has a .5 second knock back, probably set up an ez q stun, turning all dash dives into a kill.

finally, one of my personal favorites, is the fact that it can be a five second snare (that doesn't cancel the ability to use dashes or start channeling tp, keep that in mind). if you find an unaware enemy you can do this due to the physics behind the wall. each wall has segments with a circular hitbox, meaning that they can both push simultaneously, putting the enemy champion in the direct center of 2 wall pieces. but if this is not far enough the maps wall takes precedence over yours and pushes their hitbox into your walls hitbox, and due to the fact that movement requires no hitbox collision with a wall, and it is a wall, they are rendered immobile for 5 seconds. this is almost always a kill when this happens, and is even better when they are melee as they physically cannot respond as long as they have no mobility spells.

on a very situational note people like Taliyah, Vayne, Poppy, Nautilus, Bard, and to a degree thresh can have thier wall interactions activated by your wall, so you can:
  • set up a Vayne/Poppy stun
  • block a Nautilus hook
  • grant Taliyah movement speed
  • give Bard his stun/let him make a portal.
  • stop a Thresh hook from taking you anywhere, seeing as i cant pull people over walls
  • any wall interactions i missed can also be done with your wall XD
That is basically everything you can do with your wall, and if you can do any number of those things on a regular basis, i would say you are a pretty good Anivia, and have mastered her wall.

Locking down a lane Back to Top

with a lvl 1 wall and your ult you can lock down a lane as seen in the picture below (this is helpful for stopping a massive push/kiting), if you predict you will have to make a stand, ult so it grows as seen below, and then drop a wall to influence pathing when the enemies arrive.

About Me And This Guide Back to Top

i am currently summoner lvl 30, lvl 7 anivia, and bronze II, if i mid i anivia(i got a ranked quadra on Anivia but not a penta before, still working on that XD)

My personal favorite skin is Blackfrost Anivia i got it with a legendary snowball of Demonblade Tryndamere and whistler village twitch for free, I didn't like it due to its cost and lore before but its animations are much smoother and it feels better to play with.

i update this guide regularly (summer doesn't count as i am on a lot of holidays and as such not often a WiFi connection) if you have questions plz leave them in the comments.

sorry for all spelling mistakes its hard to get them all but i make sure the important things are spelled correctly

Hope you all have a great day, and good luck on the rift.
