Summoner Spells Back to Top

7.png is standard.

1.png is very situational, for when you are against champions that can disrupt you, such as Fiddlestick's fear or Veigar's E.

4.png is mandatory, considering you have no escapes built in your kit.

New Runes Back to Top

Masteries Back to Top

Ferocity

  • Allows for a sustainable laning phase.

Defense

  • Gives you a bit of survivability both in lane and in teamfights along with easier last hitting.

Resolve

  • Former Utility tree, it's now useless for Ashe.

I prefer to have E in level 2, due to my passive gameplay early on.

If you are more aggressive as a Ashe player, go with Q.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Core Items

This is what allows you to properly teamfight. At this point you can use your kitting, along with your Q and passive, to be nearly untouchable.
Build both. Chose which one you buy first, considering the tankiness or lack of it in the enemy team
Boosts your Q trigger and passive.

Situational Items

When the enemies can attack you. Its slow also helps you kitting.
When you get killed instantly in teamfights. Useful against a Zed or Veigar, for example.
When you are against a Thresh/Blitz or someone that can catch you offguard. This will prevent a "throw" late game. Also useful for its magic resist.
Gives you a free cleanse. Against heavy CC-disruptive teams.

Choose one situational item and replace it with boots.

VS

Caitlyn

Hard

This is the terror in laning. If he tries really hard, you'll be under such a pressure you'll only be able to last hit under the tower or using your W to farm.

Play passively and wait for your jungler's intervention.

VS

Corki

Medium

Careful with his all in. Try to poke him during your strong phase, which is lvl 1-2.

VS

Draven

Hard

He can 1v1 you, avoid trading auto attacks and harass him with your skills.

VS

Ezreal

Easy

Fairly easy matchup. Poke him with your W and auto attack during lvl 1-2 and wait for your 6 to guarantee a kill (use it after he uses his E).

VS

Graves

Medium

Same as corki, good all in. Beware of it and wait for the jungler to come.

VS

Jhin

Hard

He's a better version of Ashe in terms of poking. But lacks our ultimate, which is game breaking.

In lane, either push all the way against him or let him push and safely farm.

VS

Jinx

Medium

She has lot of poke, she is a very similar version of you, but more focused on auto attacks rather than abilities.

Hence, the best way to win the lane is to keep it pushed towards her tower so she can't harass you that much, thus, you can spam your W.

VS

Kalista

Hard

Her movement is insane and this is a con against your limited movement. She can easily 1v1 you and get into your face fairly easy, making your ultimate basically useless.

Either start a fight with launching the ultimate first or don't fight at all.

VS

Kennen

Easy

His stun is difficult to avoid when you are only focused in farming, so constantly look at how many marks you have and avoid farming till they're gone if you have 2. At lvl 6 you can all in him.

VS

Kindred

Easy

I don't know how she works as a adc. Any input is welcome.

VS

Kog'Maw

Easy

Lane is yours. Constantly harass him and try to zone him as he'll be as much as a threat  as you late game if he gets to farm.

VS

Lucian

Medium

It all depends on who's the best poker. He can poke as much as you and can keep the lane as pushed as you.

VS

Miss Fortune

Easy

Avoid standing behind your minions to avoid her Q to rebound on you. Harass her with W and wait for a lvl 6 to kill her.

VS

Quinn

Hard

She's very independent and in a 1v1 she kills you due to her blind. So key point is for you to be the one initiating with your arrow and trying to dodge her blind.

VS

Sivir

Hard

She's fairly hard to lane against as she has her E that blocks a skill. She can block your ult or your W's, so pay attention to when she uses it so you can initiate something afterwards.

VS

Tristana

Medium

Her E is a powerful harassing tool and her W makes it very hard to kill her in a all in. Wait for your jungler to intervene.

VS

Twitch

Medium

Avoid his damage and at lvl 6 you can kill him as he has no escapes.

VS

Urgot

Medium

Powerful harasser and with a shield to prevent your harass. Fairly tanky, so you won't be able to kill him at lvl 6. Call your jungler.

VS

Varus

Medium

He's a very similar champion, but he has superior poking. Avoid his skillshots and outsmart him.

VS

Vayne

Hard

In a clear 1v1 you lose, no matter which level your at. Try to harass her early game and constantly call for your jungler to prevent her from snowballing.

Synergies Back to Top

Good Synergy - Protective supports

12_64.png - One of my favorites. A good alistar will provide you so much safety that you'll be untouched. The minor heals help alot in lane.

432_64.png - Very versatile. His shrines are very good (especially early on for sustain) and allow you to have a good laning phase to carry late game.

201_64.png - Very much like Alistar, it will help you with a great utility both in offense and defense.

40_64.png - My favorite. No one can touch you, you'll get a AD boost shield and peeled for.

43_64.png - The poke she brings and the shield can keep you safe.

117_64.png - Poke+Safety for you? One of the best.

99_64.png - Double binds and a shield.

25_64.png  - One of the best supports at the moment for both defensive and offensive options.
She can be VERY useful at level 6, when she gets ulti to compliment yours.

267_64.png - Sustained heal along with a heavy CC at level 6 can guarantee you a kill.

37_64.png - One of my favorites. At level 6 it's just absurd what you can do with her.

16_64.png - Very passive, allows you to farm the entire game.

223.png - Like a big dog. He'll save you from your mistakes.

143_64.png - Perfect for harassing. Plants and frosty arrows are painful to watch.

Ok Synergy - We'll be ok after a while

53_64.png - At level 6 you can lock the carry that will get pulled.

9_64.png - Its fear is important, but the silence and a surprise ulti at level 6 can guarantee a kill.

89_64.png - Secured lockdown at level 6. If Leona gets her ulti to stun the AD Carry, it's a kill.

20_64.png - Once the bloodboil flows through mid/late game you'll be thankful.

44_64.png - He can burst the enemy support by himself at level 6.

412_64.png - Once the cage is activated, there's no escape with the amount of cc.

161_64.png - As long as he has his E he's useful, but he's rather squishy...and so is Ashe, so he'll be a great asset only towards the teamfighting. If you are laning vs a hard CC support like Leona, try to stay in the back.

Bad Synergy - We weren't made for each other

76_64.png - You probably didn't wanted to play support and want to try and carry the lane.

26_64.png - ^

60_64.png - ^^

Know your AD Carry Back to Top

Ashe isn't the normal AD Carry you see in SoloQ. She's more of a supportive carry, considering her kit and low damage during early game.

Don't be worried if you aren't getting many kills, focus on farming and avoid dying and you are set to carry late game.

Summoner Spells Cooldowns Back to Top

Don't neglet information you can have and can transmit to your other team mates (the jungler, specially).

  • Summoner's CD's

Flash.png

300 Seconds - 5 Minutes - Flash

7.png

240 Seconds - 4 Minutes - Heal

210 Seconds - 3.5 Minutes - Barrier

Cleanse.png

210 Seconds - 3.5 Minutes - Cleanse

Exhaust.png

210 Seconds - 3.5 Minutes - Exhaust

Keep timers of EVERYTHING. It doesn't hurt and it lets your jungler know when to gank for a kill - everyone likes having their food served in a plate.

Early game Back to Top

Ashe struggles during early game

Hide your weaknesses.

I, for one, prefer to early harass with my AA and W in order to:
  • Push the lane.
  • Harass the enemy carry/support.
  • Make the enemy carry lose CS under the tower.
  • Call their jungler in order to let top and mid have more freedom.
Of course, this doesn't always happen and sometimes you'll even be zoned from farming; but don't worry as I've been saying, you are a supportive carry. Focus on not dying (meaning, giving kills to the enemy ad carry) and farm. Even if the enemy carry has more 30 cs than you do, you'll be more useful due to your kit and utility.

Tip:
  • Once you reach lvl 2 harass like this: Auto attack followed up by your W. If your support is tuned in, this can make you have a easier time laning.

Mid game Back to Top

Looking to group up for objectives

During this phase you'll need to start being more cautious.

Things to avoid:
  • Moving between camps without proper vision.
  • Getting greedy and following a enemy to their jungle with no vision.
  • Positioning in the front line.
What to do:
  • Safely farm between camps.
  • Stay on the back of your team.
  • Initiate on a off-position carry with your arrow.

Teamfighting
The time has come. You were dancing around between drake and the enemy team decided to contest it. It's your time to shine.
Aim to hit your arrow to one of their carries. You don't need to say a word in team chat, that itself is a big "I got one of their carries, follow up team" and your initiator will immediately begin the team fight.
During the team fight be sure to be properly positioned and constantly use your volley (W).

Auto attacking:
  • Always auto attack what's closest to you. You are a Attack Damage Carry, meaning you have to put as much damage as you can into something. You also can't die early on, because that means your team will miss some of the most damage output.
  • Make sure your use your Q. Helps in kitting by applying your passive faster.

Late game Back to Top

Step up as a playmaker

Arrow to win.

Now you are off with your team, fighting for inner towers/barons. Any mistake will cause a loss, and you are the best champion, in the entire game, that can punish as hard as a guaranteed loss to whomever gets caught.
Ask for your support to extensively ward the enemy jungle (if you are the one targeting the enemy's inhib) or your own jungle (if you are being pushed back) - do help if you have a spare 75 gold and free slot: but at this point you shouldn't be helping in warding.
Your objective is simple: Correct positioning and using your arrow to whoever is out of position (yes, that means even if it's a tanky jungler - during late game respawn timers are high and going in a 4v5 is almost celebrating the win).

What if they're a organised team?
Rarely it happens, but sometimes in SoloQ a team can be pretty solid in terms of positioning and protecting their carries.
In that case:
  • Look to arrow whoever can hit you.
  • Do as most damage as you can to people closest to you.
  • Volley in order to deny some movement speed to everyone who gets caught in it.

Teamfighting: Attack and Move Back to Top

This is how I learned to properly teamfight (click)
It's very important to learn this trick, as it allows you to use as much auto attacks as you can and move away from the enemies that are coming for you.

Playmaking Back to Top

Ashe's arrow.

That alone can change a game. Imagine you are at the 45 minutes mark and both of the teams are doing the mexican stance near baron - this is when it's up to you to decide the game. Not some jungler/mid/top initiation, but you and your arrow.
Try to get a arrow on one of their carries. If you single him out right at the beginning of the fight, it'll be a 4v5. Of course, sometimes it's hard to get that arrow to hit because their carries are correctly positioned - but this is soloQ and people have no real communication other than chatting and watching their team mates movements which will cause someone to be out of position for a couple of seconds and that's when your arrow can - and will - make the game turn to your favor.

Advice for First Time Ashe's Back to Top

Simply train two basic things:

  • Avoid dying for that extra cs.
  • Put your pride aside - sometimes you lose the lane.
Understand that you are a supportive carry till late game because, until then, and unless you are fed, your damage output is very low. You'll be setting up kills with your slows to your fellow team mates.
Focus on safely farming and bringing your playmaking value to teamfights.

My example
Put me in any other AD Carry champion and watch me immediately become useless because my playstyle isn't fit to be a true carry. I'm more of a plan making person (hence the support main and some jungle presences) and will always try win a game by outsmarting the enemy team. This is the only AD Carry that I can play on a mediocre level.

Gameplay [Full Game] Back to Top

Mirror (faster loading):

I was lucky to have recorded this game, as this shows exactly how Ashe should be played. I was sort of zoned during laning phase - cs'ing at tower - but kept farming the most cs I could get. Managed to get a few kills and ended up co-carrying.
And the arrow, of course, like it was mentioned throughout this guide - several times - plays a important role in this game.

Introduction Back to Top

Hello.

I'm a player from EUW and I've started to pick the AD Carry position once I reached to Platinum, in the early season 3.
This resulted in me dropping down to Gold Match Making Ratio, but ended up climbing up due to Ashe's decisive ultimate and my improved gameplay.

Once I understood that Ashe isn't the standard AD Carry, I sky rocked back to platinum and peaked at Diamond V. I feel like I can, now, play a decent semi carry.
The way I see it Ashe works as a supportive carry during early game and half of the mid game. For the later game, she'll begin to be aware that can carry a game once she gets the right items and her damage becomes more absurd.
The fact that you can't carry early on is complemented by your kit (ultimate, once again) that can turn the tides and allow the rest of your team to snowball from it.

Hope you enjoyed the reading; Any suggestions are more than welcome.
