Flash


4.png is vital and for someone like Ashe who has no escapes, it is essential for positioning and defensive purposes. It can also be used for offensive purposes to secure kills but you have to consider whether it is worth putting your only escape on CD for 5 minutes in exchange for a potential kill.
  • If you are in trouble and need to Flash, try to wait until the enemy uses an ability to dodge it.
  • Try and position yourself near terrain you can blink over for a more secure escape.
  • Never Flash directly into the enemy team for a kill, especially in the late game.
  • Always be ready to react to enemies that Flash onto you.

Heal


7.png is your standard spell to take on ADCs and Ashe is no different. It is a useful defensive tool for not only yourself but your team as well. Similarly to Flash, but not as effective, you can use the extra burst of movement speed to chase down enemies.
  • Beware of 14.png as it will reduce the healing amount by 40%.
  • You can save a teammate if you are close by.
  • If you are in a close 1v1 encounter, you can use Heal to bait the enemy and use it at the last second.
  • In rare cases, you can use the extra burst of movement speed as an escape tool if Flash is unavailable.

Teleport


12.png can be a powerful option if used correctly. It will allow you to maximize your CS and split across the map where it would have been otherwise impossible. If you need 7.png then take it as 12.png is very situational and depends on your own and enemy's team composition.

On Ashe, you can use enchantedcrystalarrow.png from base and then 12.png to the lane you used it on. While this is not easy to pull off, it will generally result in a kill if you are able to land it.

Ranger's Focus (Q)


Ranger's Focus is your main damage steroid providing additional AD and AS. While you can use this on turrets, you cannot gain or lose stacks. I recommend saving this for skirmishes and team fights, it is also useful against Rift Herald/Dragaon/Baron but in some cases you will want to save your stacks in case the enemy team contests.

volley.png
Volley (W)


Volley is your main poking and harassing tool, it is also useful for kiting and chasing. In lane, if your enemies are hiding behind minions you can wait until they become low enough so that the arrows will continue through.

If you are going to harass with a basic attack, start with Volley first to gain triple the slow and then basic attack for additional damage. In fights, you will want to try and get as many as possible and reuse it when you can hit multiple enemies or your main target is out of basic attack range.

Hawkshot (E)


Use this to scout where the enemy jungler is in the early/mid game. It is also great for checking objectives and may deter enemies from continuing if they get seen. In the late game, always have charges ready for Baron/Elder Dragon or use to scout assassins that may be to your side or behind you!

Enchanted Crystal Arrow (R)


Enchanted Crystal Arrow is one of the most powerful ultimates in the game. A global stun can win you the game if you are able to hit an out of position enemy. In the early/mid game, you change the tide of your own fights or other lanes but I recommend not attempting to hit an arrow halfway across the map as the risk for reward is too high. You can also save it for defensive purposes but remember the stun will be miniscule when hitting an enemy at close range.

It is important you keep an eye out for 1.png and 3140.png as these will dispel the stun immediately.

Core Items


Your priority when buildings items should be: 3144.png --> 3153.png --> 1001.png --> 3085.png

This is the most effective build at the moment due to critical strike items being nerfed. This build will give more you extra sustain and AS but you will lack some damage, especially in 1v1 situations.

3085.png stacks with your ashepassive.png and asheq.png, as well as the passive from 3153.png.

Always buy a 2055.png whenever possible. It is everyone's job to ward.


As the game progresses your enemies will build armor against you for more surviabilitty and in most cases you will get 3036.png.

3033.png is only built if you require Grievous Wounds, which reduces all sources of healing by 40%. This is useful against champions such as 16.png who can heal others or 50.png who can heal himself. 3123.png can sometimes be a worthwhile purchase in the early game to mitigate enemy healing, upgrade when needed.

Situational Items



The decision to get a defensive item will always depend on circumstance, however; if you require more defense for any reason you should prioritize these items over more DPS. 
  • 3026.png is a great 5th/6th item that gives you a second life while still increasing your DPS.
  • Take 3140.png against hard CC when required, turn into 3139.png later.
  • 3156.png is great against burst mages and AP heavy teams. Build a 3155.png when required and upgrade later.
  • 3047.png is great against multiple AD threats.
3071.png 3031.png 3124.png

3071.png can be very powerful because of how the passive interacts with your asheq.png. Because asheq.png uses instances of physical damage, you can cleave them five times in one AA, stacking up to six. If you cannot get your asheq.png off in fights, it is not worth buying.

After the changes, 3031.png is better for Ashe when built later on rather than immediately but the DPS boost we get now compared to before is quite low considering the cost. When ahead, this item is great after the standard core but if behind, I would not bother.

3124.png and Ashe is something that naturally would not go together but her range as well as 3085.png makes her a great candidate, especially against melee heavy teams.

  • 3046.png grants additional mobility and defense against melee threats.
  • 3087.png is great for wave clearing and extra burst damage.

  • She is one of the only champions that outranges you naturally, so be careful or her ability to trade throughout the early game.
  • If she tries to play aggressively when caitlynpassive.png is up, use volley.png when she walks up to auto and trade, in most cases you will win because she will be forced to retreat.

  • If the Caitlyn feels threatened they will skill caitlynentrapment.png at level 2 and then caitlynyordletrap.png.
  • When paired with a CC support such as 12.png or 89.png, expect caitlynyordletrap.png at level 2.

  • If she is paired with a support with barely any CC, there should not be any reason for you to die. As long as you keep an eye out for where her caitlynyordletrap.png are and avoid her caitlynentrapment.png she should not be able to get a free caitlynpassive.png hit.179.png
  • caitlynaceinthehole.png provides no real power spike as it is generally used to finish someone who is low off, so the main threat will be their jungler and/or support.
  • caitlynentrapment.png should not be enough to dodge enchantedcrystalarrow.png, however; if you cannot kill her in the duration and she lands caitlynentrapment.png after the stun duration ends, be prepared for you or your support to take the damage.

Corki

  • Take advantage of Corki's short range and harass when possible.
  • He has great all in potential with carpetbomb.png so be careful if he is paired with a CC support.
  • His power spike isn't until level 4 so he does not really have any kill potential.

  • Be wary of phosphorusbomb.png harass, otherwise he should not be able to damage you.
  • At level 2 he will get carpetbomb.png which will primarily be used as an escape.

  • At level 4 (sometimes 3) most will get ggun.png which is only useful at close range but only takes one tick to apply the defense reductions.
  • You should keep your distance at this point if against a CC support.
  • If he is allowed to use ggun.png without having to use carpetbomb.png to set it up you will take a lot of damage.

  • missilebarrage.png will add a lot or harass potential and add to his wave clearing ability. In engagements, watch out for the "Big One".

  • This is, in my opinion, Ashe's toughest matchup.
  • Never trade autos with him, he will always win if dravenspinning.png is up/going.
  • Even if you are in the lead, he can still beat you in a 1v1 because he can output damage a lot faster than you can.
  • You have small gaps to harass him when he is trying to catch his dravenspinning.png.
  • Save volley.png for when to tries to play aggressively.

  • Unless you reach level 2 before they do, do not engage in a fight unless they jungler comes to gank.
  • In the scenario where they hit level 2 first, you will need to play passively and potentially be zoned until you do.
  • If you both hit level 2 at the same time, he will still have the advantage because your asheq.png will not be ready to use instantly.

  • At level 3 he will get dravendoubleshot.png and will punish you if you are too far forward, if you get caught by this, you will most likely have to use a summoner spell.
  • Always be ready to 4.png if need be.

  • Ezreal can excel at all ranges and is hard to pin down because of ezrealarcaneshift.png.
  • This matchup is all about positioning and avoiding his ezrealmysticshot.png using minions and that makes it hard to harass because you will generally put yourself in his ezrealmysticshot.png range to do it.

  • Level 1 is your best chance to deal as much harass as possible because he will not have stacks on ezrealpassive.png and he cannot escape with ezrealarcaneshift.png.
  • In a prolonged engagement he will win if he hits ezrealmysticshot.png multiple times.
  • At level 2 he will get ezrealarcaneshift.png which makes it almost impossible to kill him but also gives him the potential to be aggressive depending on his support.

  • ezrealessenceflux.png will normally be gotten at level 4 but generally does not make a huge difference in fights. The best case scenario for him is to hit enemies and his support as well.

  • ezrealtrueshotbarrage.png is global and can deal a lot of burst if you are the first hit.
  • enchantedcrystalarrow.png will be hard to hit as ezrealarcaneshift.png is almost instant and if you do manage to hit him and he has already cast it, he will still teleport to that location.
  • My recommendation is to save it for ganks and to use it after he ezrealarcaneshift.png which can result in a kill or force 4.png.

VS

Jhin

  • This matchup is all about dodging his abilities because he should not be able to hit you with anything unless he lands jhinw.png.
  • If he tries to play aggressively when the 4th bullet of jhinpassive.png is up play defensively or trade with volley.png. Your damage should exceeds his if you are full HP.

  • You should not be taking any damage here but you have to be careful of jhinq.png, especially if it has killed minions before it lands on you.
  • Attempt to harass while he is reloading.

  • Here is where things get dangerous if he is paired with a CC support. It will allow him to follow up with a potential free jhinw.png.
  • Stay out of range of the support if this is the case because the range of jhinw.png basically covers most of the lane.
  • Be careful of his 4.png+Q+AA combo. If you are around 25% health you can expect this to happen because the 4th bullet of jhinpassive.png not only crits but has increased damage based on how much HP the target is missing.

  • Watch closely for where he places jhine.png, which he will normally get a level 4.
  • The damage is negligible but it will mark and slow you so you can easily be snared by jhinw.png.

  • jhinr.png is easily countered by enchantedcrystalarrow.png. If you have it up and you are in doubt just fire it at his location.
  • Like Ashe, Jhin has no mobility so enchantedcrystalarrow.png will either land (or miss) or you will burn his 4.png.
  • If you do not have it up and you are within its range you can either 4.png out if you are too low. If that isn't an option you will need to try and dodge it.
  • The best method for dodging I find is running back and forth which will force him to guess but sometimes that isn't an option if you are being chased by others so try your best to be unpredictable.

VS

Jinx

  • Keep an eye for when she uses jinxq.png and swaps to Fishbones. Outside of fights, this is the only way she can harass you reliably.
  • If she gets a takedown on your support she can easily chase you down with jinxpassive.pngand will most likely have Glacial%20Augment.png?width=32, making it harder to escape.

  • Unless she has a support with CC, you should never be in range for jinxe.png.
  • jinxw.png is easily avoidable by standing behind minions.

  • jinxr.png is a very effective AoE execute. If you are below 30% will you need to 4.png to avoid the blast. Keep in mind that if you are not the primary target it will still deal 80% damage.

Kalista

  • kalistapassive.png maker her very mobile and will heavily punish you if you get caught out of position.
  • ashepassive.png and volley.png makes it very difficult for her to kite you, so it is vital you orb walk.

  • If you are caught out of position and she is able to consistently attack you, you will probably need to 4.png before kalistaexpungewrapper.png becomes lethal.
  • Keep an eye on your minions as a well timed kalistamysticshot.png can pierce through them and strike you.

  • If you use your enchantedcrystalarrow.png on her support, she can easily save them with kalistarx.png, so save it for her or defensive purposes.
  • kalistarx.png has a fair cast range so be careful not to get caught in the knockup or you may be forced to 4.png.

  • kogmawvoidooze.png is not the greatest threat but can be if placed where you are forced to run through it.

  • He is also very reliant on items so if you can beat him early it will be difficult for him to recover.

  • At level 2 and 3 he reaches a new power spike.
  • If he reaches level 2 before you, most will luciane.png in, proc lucianpassive.png, use lucianq.png and proc lucianpassive.png again. You need to ensure you stay a far distance back even at the cost of CS.

  • Before level 6, he is capable of decent burst damage if you are caught out of position using the combo above and with lucianw.png he can proc lucianpassive.png 3 times.
  • lucianr.png can be stopped with enchantedcrystalarrow.png.
  • If you are caught in lucianr.png4.png out. Depending on the distance he is from you, you may have to 4.png sideways instead of backwards. Remember, he can cast luciane.png without interrupting lucianr.png.
  • enchantedcrystalarrow.png can easily be dodged by luciane.png.

Miss Fortune

  • Some will focus on leveling missfortunescattershot.png first for increased poke and harass.

  • While standing behind minions is great for most abilities, missfortunericochetshot.png will punish you if you do, so you will constantly have to re-position yourself based on where she is.
  • To gain the extra damage from missfortunericochetshot.png, she will attempt to lower the caster minions so that the first shot will kill the minion and then bounce to you.

  • missfortunebullettime.png can be cancelled with enchantedcrystalarrow.png.
  • Alone missfortunebullettime.png is not a great threat as it can use 4.png to escape or simply run out.
  • missfortunebullettime.png with CC will most likely result in your death, especially if you are caught for the full duration so you will may to 4.png CC from the enemy support.

Sivir

  • Sivir is the best wave clearer with sivirq.png and sivirw.png so you will be last hitting under the tower unless you can match her.
  • I highly suggest started with 1054.png in this matchup to deal with sivirw.png and potential a poke heavy support.

  • Do not attempt to harass with volley.png as it will just give her free mana.
  • Using your own slows, you should be able to prevent her from hitting you twice when she resets her basic attack with sivirw.png.
  • While you can slow her, sivirpassive.png can counteract that especially if she is able to block volley.png.
  • She is capable of huge burst damage if you get hit by sivirq.png twice.

  • sivirr.png can be used to escape but is a very strong tool for initiating, especially with help from the jungler or other lanes.
  • enchantedcrystalarrow.png can be easily blocked by sivire.png so unless you know it is down, do not use it.

Tristana

  • Take advantage of Tristana's short basic attack range as tristanapassive.png scales with levels.

  • Never attempt to trade with tristanae.png is on you. Not only will it deal considerable damage at max stacks but she can use tristanaw.png twice if it detonates at max stacks.
  • tristanaq.png is not much of a threat early unless you get caught out. It will also help her reach max stacks of tristanae.png faster and has no mana cost.

  • enchantedcrystalarrow.png cannot be easily dodged by tristanaw.png but if she is able to cast it before it hits, sometimes the cast will complete.
  • tristanar.png can be used as a defensive tool or as burst damage to finish you off. If she has tristanae.png on you, the perfect time to use it is at the 3rd stack as she can basic attack you immediately after using tristanar.png triggering tristanae.png.

VS

Twitch

  • Twitch excels in long, drawn out fights to gain max stacks of twitchpassive.png so focus on poking and harassing him with volley.png and take advantage of his short range.

  • If it is level 3 or beyond and you do not see him in lane always assume he may be using twitchhideinshadows.png. This lasts a decent amount of time so back off if you notice him missing the his support suddenly playing aggressively while alone.
  • twitchvenomcask.png and twitchexpunge.png should not be any threat unless you are caught out.
  • If you have max stacks or close to of twitchpassive.png, you may need to 4.png out but if he is close by then you will most likely still be in range.

  • varuse.png is a great source of poke and can be deadly if you are hit with CC. Remember, it applies Grievous Wounds so do not use 7.png while in it!

  • varusr.png is very difficult to dodge and sometimes using 4.png is your only option.
  • If you are hit, you can still attack and use spells such as enchantedcrystalarrow.png but you will not be able to move.
  • If your support is hit, you will either have to retreat so it does not spread to you or make the decision to fight. 
  • Remember, varusr.png applies Blight.

VS

Vayne

  • Always be mindful of your surrounding terrain when playing against Vayne to avoid being stunned by vaynecondemn.png.
  • Vayne has short range so take advantage by constantly trading but things can quickly turn if you are hit by CC and she will be able to keep up with vaynepassive.png.

  • vaynesilveredbolts.png can deal considerable damage, especially if being maxed. When trading, always back out after one basic attack.
  • Apart from knocking you into terrain, vaynecondemn.png can be used to proc the 3rd vaynesilveredbolts.png.
  • vaynetumble.png is a decent damage boost on her next basic attack so keep that in mind when trading.

  • If vayneinquisition.png is used you will most likely not be able to contest her and may be forced to use enchantedcrystalarrow.png defensively. 
  • If the brush is not warded she may activate vayneinquisition.png and use vaynetumble.png which will give her invisibility and put her at very close range or in a position to vaynecondemn.png you into terrain.
  • At close range, vaynetumble.png should not be enough to dodge enchantedcrystalarrow.png.

VS

Xayah

  • Always keep an eye out for where her xayahpassive.png are.
  • You should be able to poke freely in this matchup but you need to keep your distance and ensure you do not get hit by CC.

  • At level 2, she may attempt to xayahq.png you and follow with a basic attack. At this point, she will have 3 xayahpassive.png and can potentially root you with xayahe.png.
  • If xayahw.png is activated, use volley.png to back off until its duration has expired.

  • xayahr.png can easily dodge enchantedcrystalarrow.png.
  • The amount of potential xayahpassive.png  will drastically increase at level 6 from 8 to 13. While is it not probable that you will get hit by all, you may need to 4.png to avoid xayahe.png after a xayahr.png is used. 
  • If you do 4.png, make sure you do not 4.png sideways as she can do the same and still hit xayahe.png.

Q: How does my passive change critical strikes, chance and damage?

  1. Critical strikes now critically slow, dealing triple the slow of ashepassive.png.
  2. Critical strike chance works the same as before and applies additional damage to ashepassive.png using the formula below.
  3. Critical strike bonus damage only applies additional damage to ashepassive.png using the formula below.

Additional Damage = 10% + (Critical Strike Chance x (1 + Critical Strike Bonus Damage))

Below is an example of how the formula is used:

  1. 1055.png3006.png1038.png3086.png
    10% + (20% x (1 + 0))
    10% + (20% x 1)
    10% + 20%
    = 30%

    With this build there is a 20% chance to critically slow and deal 30% additional damage with ashepassive.png.

The early game is critical to Ashe because it is very hard to catch up if you fall behind.


Once you get to lane after leashing you will find the melee minions almost all dead, I recommend using volley.png here to get all three while also hitting the ranged minions and/or enemy champions to ensure you get level 2 quickly and get some form of harassment.


If you are against a melee support with 3302.png make sure you punish them if they try to last hit any minions. I recommend saving volley.png to slow them and then basic attack them down as much as possible. Against champions such as 89.png or 201.png this will hurt their level 2 engage and/or for force them to use a majority of their 2003.png.


Your level 2 is weaker than most because we do not have the DPS increase that most other ADCs have. Take ashespiritofthehawk.png and use it across the enemy jungle aiming for the buff that is furthest away. Although this does not really help your own lane at all, it gives useful intel for your jungler and your mid/top lanes. In the case where the enemy gets level 2 before you do, you need to play passively.


You have no escapes apart from 4.png so make sure you have appropriate vision depending on where the lane is, most of the time this is dependant on your support. You can also use ashespiritofthehawk.png if you feel the enemy jungler is close by and you have no vision left.


At level 6, you generally will not win fights unless you have a support that has good burst damage. If you do decide to engage, make sure you have full stacks of asheq.png ready and you can land volley.png reliably. If you can get your jungler to gank it should result in a kill with enchantedcrystalarrow.png or a lot of burnt summoner spells. Every time you use enchantedcrystalarrow.png you should aim for a takedown or burn a 4.png. Sometimes, 1.png will be taken against you and it is not worth trading enchantedcrystalarrow.png for it.

Continue to use ashespiritofthehawk.png to scout out the enemy jungler. You can start to aim it at Dragon/Rift Herald if you have no vision. You will also need to keep an eye out for the enemy mid laner and potentially a 12.png from the top laner if constantly pushed.


The most important thing to do if you have fallen behind is to make sure you do not keep hemorrhaging kills. While this may sound obvious, you playstyle needs to adapt to the situation so you do not end up going to lane and instantly dying. In this situation, make sure you freeze the wave (only last hit) and if your enemy has frozen the wave and going to lane means death then go into the jungle with your support.


If you are ahead and have managed to take the turret, rotate to top lane and pressure the turret there. Generally, your top laner will rotate bottom at this stage. You should also look to pressure Dragon when ahead using ashespiritofthehawk.png to scout any potential steals.


When using enchantedcrystalarrow.png on other lanes I suggest to fairly close by and not attempt to cast from base or from other lanes because it is too high risk for potentially no reward. Always make sure the enemy has no vision from where you cast, if you are unsure, go further back in lane or go to an area that has recently been swept. In some cases, you will need to save it for yourself as a defensive mechanism. You will also need to continously look out for 3140.png. Like 1.png, it is not worth trading your ultimate for it.


If you do not have a support/team that can protect you, your positioning is vital to staying alive and 4.png is key to that. I also recommend building lifesteal so you can sustain yourself in fights.


Once again, vision is key, especially against assassins. If you fear that an enemy will come from behind, make sure you have ashespiritofthehawk.png ready to scout them out. If you are being targetted, which in most cases you should be, you have to rely on your team to react to any threats as enchantedcrystalarrow.png and your slows will not always be enough.


enchantedcrystalarrow.png can win you the game if hit on an out of position target or lead to objectives such as Baron or Elder Dragon.
