Summoner Spells Back to Top

Flash:

I would recommend always taking Flash on Sol. This helps you get out of a unfavorable situation and possibly avoid any hard CC (Hard CC cancels your passive and W). It also helps you get some distance and kite back from the enemy if they are aggro towards you.

Ignite:

This is my go to summoner when playing Sol. If you're against a high sustain laner, such as Cho'Gath or Volibear, I would highly recommend Ignite. This is because Ignite reduces their sustain, making it easier to kill them. Ignite is also really good if you feel you can snowball the lane using it.

Ghost:

Ghost is really good for chasing the enemy down with your Q/E combo. It also helps secure kills on the enemy by keeping up with them to finish them off with your passive.

Teleport:

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend teleport on Sol unless you are playing Top and want to help Bot lane out.  Other than that. I wouldn't recommend this summoner on Mid or Support Sol.

Exhaust:

I would recommend this summoner if against an unfavorable match up that could help give you an edge if they were to all in you. The movement speed debuff is also really good for finishing off a kill.

Masteries Back to Top

FEROCITY TREE:

Sorcery>Fury

Sol doesn't benefit from the attack speed, AP would be much better.

Feast

Helps sustain in lane a bit. Double edged sword is too risky since Sol is pretty squishy and doesn't have an easy escape. Expose weakness could be viable but I would rather have the sustain.

Natural Talent>Vampirism
Extra AP is a lot more beneficial in my opinion.

Oppressor>Bounty Hunter
The extra damage you will get from damaging an impaired unit  will come in handy with your Q+W or R+W combos.

CUNNING TREE:

Wanderer>Savagery

Wanderer is better to go to setup your E+Q combo stun, plus you don't really need the extra damage to kill monsters.

Secret Stash

This is the best choice out of Runic Affinity or Assassin. You don't really get much out of Runic Affinity if you are laning. Taking Assassin could be viable if you plan to try solo killing your lane opponent. But the safest option would be Secret Stash which is really helpful with the extra early game mana and health sustain.

Merciless>Meditate

Merciless is much better for finishing off kills, which is a better option than a tiny bit of mana sustain every 5 seconds. Plus, Merciless helps throughout the entire game.

Dangerous Game>Bandit

Bandit is more of a support mastery. Plus, you don't really AA much on Sol so you wouldn't benefit from the passive that grants gold on AA. Dangerous Game is much better for pushing the enemy laners wave to their tower after a fight.

Precision>Intelligence

Sol's cooldowns are already really short, with the exception of his E early levels, which makes the bit of extra magic pen good.

Thunderlords

Thunderlords is the best option here. You can proc it super easy with your W early levels to do a ton of damage, ensuring you win the trade. You would most likely be unable to proc Stormraiders and you would not benefit at all from taking Windspeakers.

aurelionsolpassive.png Passive (Center of the Universe):
Stars orbit around you dealing magic damage when the stars hit an enemy. This is your main source of damage and poke.

aurelionsolQ.png Q (Starsurge):
Sol creates a stellar core which expands over time. Also grants 10% movement speed while following it. The core will detonate when it reaches the outer edge stunning any enemies in the area of the core. Can detonate early for early stun. Max this ability second.

aurelionsolW.png W (Celestial Expansion):
Passively increases star base damage each time leveled up. When activated, will expand the stars dealing bonus magic damage. You will want to max this ability first because it is such a great ability to use whittling down the enemy's health bar with little effort. It is also pretty helpful for csing.

aurelionsolE.png E (Comet of Legend):
Passively generates velocity while moving in one direction. Taking damage resets the movement speed buff. When activated, Sol will fly over any walls across the map. This ability (both the passive and active) are extremely good for getting catches on enemies split from their team or just escaping a potential gank. I would recommend leveling this up last because Sol's Q and W provide more benefit. The only reason I would consider maxing this first or second would be if you planned on playing Sol in the Jungle.

aurelionsolR.png R (Voice of Light):
Voice of Light is an extremely strong ultimate. It deals a ton of magic damage at a 70% AP Ratio that not only knock backs, but also slows for a ridiculous amount. The slow decays over 4 seconds, which should be plenty of time for you or your team to finish off the enemy. This ability also knocks the enemies back into your outer limit, making it easy to chain CC them with your Q and W.

Starting Items

    STARTING ITEMS
    ALTERNATIVE START

Core Items

RUSH CATALYST FOR EXTRA MANA/HEALTH SUSTAIN IN LANE
WORKS REALLY WELL WITH SOL'S PASSIVE AND W. MAKES IT REALLY HARD FOR ENEMY TO GET ONTO YOU
ANOTHER ITEM THAT WORKS REALLY WELL WITH SOL'S PASSIVE AND RYLAI'S. YOU GET MORE PASSIVE DMG ON THIS ITEM WITH THE RYLAI'S SLOW
I USUALLY GO CDR BOOTS FOR THE SHORTER E+R COOLDOWNS, BUT SWIFTIES MAY WORK BETTER

Situational Items

IF THEY HAVE A LOT OF MR
IF THEY HAVE A LOT OF HARD CC ON THEIR TEAM (HARD CC CANCELS PASSIVE)
    AGAINST HEAVY AP
THE STASIS WORKS REALLY WELL WITH SOL'S PASSIVE AS IT DOES NOT CANCEL WHILE IN STASIS. CORE AGAINST HEAVY AD/ASSASSIN
    IF SUPER AHEAD
DECENT ITEM, HELPS WITH E+Q SETUP
NEVER GO THESE ITEMS, STACKS ON DARK SEAL/MEJIAS TOO EASY TO LOSE. WOULD BARELY PROC LICH BANE SHEN.
