Hello everyone, welcome to my Azir guide.
 As a main Azir with a non conventional play-style, I wanted to create a guide to help people getting better with him.

It's not 100% complete yet, as I want it to be VERY complete, I will often add some news. I will explain the difficulty against every matchup later, etc.

For the summonner spells, I will recommend the classical 4.png  coupled with 21.png or 3.png .

If you prefer to play safe, and survive at different situations then choose 21.png. It's the one I use the most. 
268.png has already a lot of damage in late, but once the late come, you want to be sure that you will survive a long time enough to deal the damage. Barrier can help you to tank some damage coming from far (Ez ulti, Lux ulti, high range adc, etc). 
It's very useful against champion with high burst or with high range like 63.png134.png99.png143.png161.png etc.

You can chose 3.png when you are playing against enemies with high burst but need to get closer, to reduce the incoming damage by 40%.
 It's very effective against 105.png7.png55.png238.png103.png69.png etc.
But you need to be confident with it, if you wait too much it won't be worth.

You can also use 3.png to play more aggressively, as it reduce the movement speed, it works very well with your soldiers. I play it against champ like 4.png61.png112.png163.png to get fed early and get my late stuff sooner.

Take 14.png only  when you really need it, when you are facing 8.png50.png. Otherwise 3.png is way stronger.

Masteries Back to Top

Thunderlord Will help you to burst enemies (easier to kill them while doing your combo with it). And it will provide a very good pressure, each time you get it, W azirW.png Q azirQ.png and 2 AA. It's very effective and from very far.


I personally chose "Bandit" over "Dangerous Game" because I harass a lot in line and the 3 gold every 5 sec are welcome, 30 gold almost each minute is like on more creep per wave (or 1 kill min 12). Of course you can't really AA every 5 sec against other distance mage, so take it only versus melee champ and don't let them farm.
 But 5% health and Mana restored for every kill or assist can be very useful in team fight, it's only up to you.

Classical spell leveling order, nothing much to say here. 

Maximize the Q first will provide you damage and burst.

You can try to maximize W first if you want to, as it provide attack speed at each level.

Starting Items

    The basics.
    Early items, choose one and finish your first item with it.
    You can take those against mage to be tanky enough and never get OS.
    Let me explain below.

Core Items

    The 3 must have.

Situational Items

    Defensive items that allow you to survive.
    I like this one against tank without burst.
    If they are mostly squishy and you don't need tankyness.
    My general full build.

Let's start with the boots. 

I know that people play with Sorcerer 95% of the time, as it provide you flat magic penetration, which is very strong but only in early.

After many tries, I found that Berserker give more damage.

As I said earlier, attack speed is very strong on 268.png (I will develop this fact later). And Berserker give you 35% (which is a lot) of attack speed and it's not that expensive. As getting a second offensive item that give attack speed will not be worth because you really need the other items, those boots provide the attack speed you need without sacrificing anything. 

Nashor's tooth + Berseker's boots + W passive give you enough attack speed to deal a lot of damage in a short time (barely 2 AA / sec) . So you can focus on AP and magic penetration with the other items.

The matchup is kind of easy before the level 6. You can outrange her and poke a lot. She can't really all in you because she don't have the strenght yet. 

But be careful because once she get her ahritumble.png she will just dash away from your soldier again and again, plus she can kill you from far enought to not get hit by your ultimate azirR.png.  Be sure to always keep a W azirW.png E azirE.png combo to escape.
