bardpassive.png This passive is interesting. You pick up chimes and they give you movement speed (that stacks) mana (great sustain) xp and helps you with your meep damage. Roam to get these when you can but don't just ditch your laner. Make sure to tell them when you're leaving and leave health packs. The meeps do great damage which scales well into the late game as you collect chimes. As you play more bard you will become a chime addict like the rest of us, these are awesome little presents around the map just for you. Don't die for them though not worth.

bardQ.png This does good damage and is a wonderful slow or stun. It can be tricky to land but you can also land it against a wall, or get two champs. It does work really well in teamfights as there aren't usually minions around so you can get the stun off. Max this first.

bardW.png The heal. This does more if you leave it but does have an immediate heal too. It also gives some movement speed so it can be used to escape even at full health. The reason I get this at level 1 is to roam and leave health packs for top, mid and the jungler. It is just a little present for the other lanes but every few games it will save them, help them get a kill (and maybe you an assist), and just build some goodwill with your fellow players always good in low elo! Max this second for extra healing. If you are having a really hard lane then maybe put more points in w early just for the sustain.

bardE.png This is a great ability and allows you to set up some great plays with your jungler or the rest of your team. Be careful as the enemy can follow but if they do you can immediately get the stun off on the wall. Learning to use this takes some practice but it has huge potential to make plays, escape or do all that stuff. Make sure you dont miss cause there's a few walls where you try to go through and you end up making a very short and not helpful portal.

bardR.png This is the hardest part of Bard's kit to master. It has huge range and potential and huge ways to fuck up. This ability has the same effect on allies or enemies so very easy to screw over your team. keep in mind it's not instant to throw it a few seconds ahead of when you want it to land i.e someone running away is moving so throw it where they are going etc. Some uses (but not all) are: stopping an enemy from escaping, stopping an enemy from chasing you, freezing the enemy carries to kill their front line while they can't do damage, freezing the enemy tanks to more easily get to the backline (harder to not also freeze your front line), freezing your team to prevent big damage from hitting them i.e karthus ult, ziggs ult, or other big damage, freezing the tower to dive, freezing your tower so the enemy can't kill it, freezing the minions killing your tower to give you time to kill others, and tons and tons more. It has a billion uses but be careful not to do any of these in reverse to screw over your own team they will get mad and you'll probably lose the fight.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

This is your standard starting items. Make sure to throw out autoattacks on enemies often as it gives you gold (double with your meeps) and does free damage. Also works with your q but autos are free make sure to use them to get damage and gold. Very often i see low elo supports not using this item well and missing out on lots of gold.

Core Items

Sightstone should be your first buy (make sure to swap your trinket too). Then sit on that for a while make sure to use those wards especially if your going to roam ward first. Then with the upgrade you can either go ruby sightstone (my standard) because frost queens is a great active for catching people out (and landing your ult) and the 10% reduced cooldown on active items you make good use of. Otherwise go for eye for the extra item slot this is better if you are bad about using active items.
I will go mobies in most games as you wander a lot and they help you leave and get back sooner. Other boot options can work depending on the matchup.
These are both really good on bard. They give you tankiness and split pushing pressure. Make sure to put these in a side lane that no one is paying attention to so they can freely push. Use banner on cannon or caster minions. ZZ try to put in a bush near the lane and make sure to check the range there are spots where you can get all the way to inhib with it so aim for there.
This gives you a lot of tankiness and works great against autoattackers to slow them down, and it gives you tons of cdr
All of these are good as you generally want to go tanky on bard. You are good for your stuns, some heals, and the utility from your e and ult not really your damage. Being another tank for your team is great. Don't just buy 1 tank item though they are all good depending on the matchup. If their mid leblanc is fed then don't stack armor.
This better than banner for teamfights but I prefer banner for the split push pressure, but its up to you.
This works well on bard as it increases your heal and you do a good amount of damage to stack the passive quickly.
