Summoner Spells Back to Top

4.png14.png Is really the only way to go. Explanation:

21.png- Your Passive is this but better

3.png- This keeps people close, but doesn't do squat if they flash away (which they most likely will try to do)

6.png- Your W is this but better

7.png- Again, you have your passive

12.png- He's fast enough with W to get back to lane quickly

Masteries Back to Top

It's really a toss-up as to which you want to use. Thunderlords allows you to trade better early, but Stormraiders enhances your late-game potential.

Edit- Seriously debating Stormraiders. After quite a bit of experimentation, I figure that Stormraiders may have more potential. With Thunderlords low AP scaling it becomes not as useful at later levels, which is where you need the most help. Stormraiders on the other hand allows you to get in and burst someone, then get out quickly.

rocketgrab.png - Your most important ability. It sets up all of your combos and there is no reason not to max it first.

overdrive.png - Your mobility tool. Ganking, returning to lane, getting to objectives, this ability does it all. At low rank, the speed boost is about equal to the slow, which is problematic. Maxing it second gets rid of this problem and just makes it a solid mobility tool.

powerfist.png- The only thing you get from maxing this is a slightly lower cooldown. Since rocketgrab.png will always have a longer cooldown, there's really no reason to max it at all.

staticfield.png- You basically become Thor. Call down strikes of lightning on your foes, obliterate them with your static power, this ability is absurd. For one, it has a 100% AP scaling. Two, it is a LARGE AoE. Three, its cooldown is basically nothing. These factors combined make for an ability that is very good at soloing slippery opponents, devastating a teamfight, or just clearing a minion wave during a siege.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Doran's provides AP as well as much needed mana regen.
Your first purchase. Sheen is what allows you to really start zoning and killing your opponent.

Core Items

This item is what makes blitz terrifying. Your E will do MASSIVE damage when combined with this.
Your core burst item. Provides MS too to make for speedier retreats or advances.
CDR is a must in some form. This is the best option as it is very cost effective and gives you only what you need.
More AP, what's not to like?
VS. Heavy AD, this is an absolute must.
Your abilities have high base damage. These allow you to abuse that.
MR reduction circle is the same size as your ult and hook. Go get em.

Situational Items

If your team really needs ganks all over the map, these allow you to do so.
Been experimenting with RoA. It gives you some really nice HP for surviving in lane, and its passive helps you scale better into the late game.

VS

Akali

Medium

If you can't burst her in one go, you're a goner. But if she jumps on you, you can shut her down with your staticfield.png and plethora of CC.

VS

Anivia

Hard

Her damage and range combined with her aniviapassive.png make this lane nearly impossible.

VS

Annie

Easy

Just don't grab her when her stun is up.

VS

Azir

Hard

Can zone you, push you back, and generally keep you out of his face. Not a fun time.

VS

Brand

Easy

VS

Cassiopeia

Easy

Don't get stunned and you'll be gucci.

VS

Diana

Hard

A strong, tanky melee mage. Will wreck you if you don't have a tower to help.

VS

Ekko

Medium

Ult is somewhat annoying, but generally not too much of a problem.

VS

Fizz

Easy

He goes in, you press R. If he wastes his E, ABUSE HIM.

VS

Heimerdinger

Hard

As with Azir, can zone you and protect himself with turrets. Though slightly easier due to his lack of escapes.

VS

Karthus

Easy

Literally take his lunch money.

VS

Kassadin

Medium

He goes in, you press R and combo his helpless soul.

VS

Katarina

Medium

Used to be easy before her rework. Now she can zone you with her dagger and has the repeated engage potential with her katarinaewrapper.png to really ruin your day. If you can make her wast her katarinaewrapper.png you are pretty safe.

VS

LeBlanc

Medium

Slippery, but if you can catch her on the way in with an staticfield.png, she's done.

VS

Lissandra

Hard

Escapes, slows, and self-invulnerability make this a hard one to.

VS

Lux

Easy

No escape, just dodge her Q and grab that booty.

VS

Malzahar

Hard

His spellshield makes your life a living hell. Also, all he has to do is ult you when you pull him and you're spare parts. Not enjoyable.

VS

Orianna

Easy

Show the other robot who's boss.

VS

Syndra

Medium

Other than her syndraE.png, she's a pretty easy nut to crack.

VS

Talon

Easy

Silence him with he E's to you. Kill.

VS

Twisted Fate

Medium

His range can be annoying, but he is squishy and has no escapes. Just don't get gold-carded.

VS

Veigar

Medium

Your silence stops his combo. However if you don't manage to do that, he will blow you sky high.

VS

Vel'Koz

Easy

Squishy, no escapes.

VS

Viktor

Medium

Other than his viktordeathray.png range and viktorgravitonfield.png stun, squishy and no escapes.

VS

Xerath

Medium

Long range makes this not fun. But if you can land a grab, he's toast.

VS

Yasuo

Medium
yasuoW.png is annoying as hell, but you can burst him if he goes in.

VS

Zed

Medium

Slippery AD caster that doesn't REALLY care if he's silenced.

VS

Ziggs

Medium

Long range and escapes make for a painful lane phase, but after you get lich bane you can just 1-shot him.

Combos Back to Top

Basic Lane Harass
rocketgrab.png + Auto-Attack + Reset auto with powerfist.png + Retreat (overdrive.png if needed)
The basic harass combo allows you to take about 1/4-1/3 of the enemy's health and get away while they are knocked up.

Kill Combo
rocketgrab.png + staticfield.png (to prevent flash) + powerfist.png (+ overdrive.png if chase needed)

Minion Wave Surprise
staticfield.png (killing minion wave, damaging enemy, preventing flash) + rocketgrab.png + powerfist.png (+ overdrive.png if chase needed)

Basically any mixture of abilities will work. These are just a few of the main combos.

Final Remarks Back to Top

Now that you've been entranced by the amazingness of Mid Blitzcrank, let me warn you of a few things:

1. Don't expect to win games by yourself

Mid blitz may have high damage, but if he can't burst someone in a single combo, he's useless. Pretty much any top laner these days can come waltz in and kill you, and you can't do a damn thing about it besides run away. Once his rocketgrab.png + staticfield.png are used, Blitz is a paperweight. If your team isn't there and you just grabbed an angry Renekton, say hello to the gray screen. HOWEVER: If your team is there and they can capitalize on your pull, you will win the teamfight.

2. If your team isn't there, and you can't kill it with 1 combo, don't grab it. (See above)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now with all this negative stuff I've been saying, you're probably second guessing playing AP Blitz. Well you haven't seen all of the story.

3. If it's squishy and you see it: GRAB THAT BOOTY and show it a real good time

There is nothing more satisfying than deleting squishies, and that is what Blitz excels at. If it has under 2000 HP, it might as well be a walking gold and xp dispenser, because you can just take it. Blitz has a niche role that he fills VERY well, and if you and your team can capitalize on it, many a kill and victory await.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for taking the time to read my guide. I may not be the best of players, but I strive to have fun, and that is exactly what Blitz delivers. I hope you learned something new from this guide, and if you have any questions or corrections, please leave them in the comments below.

Thanks,
SexualRobot
