  • Surprise the enemy with a huge burst of damage with Full Combo into Ignite
  • Reduce Healing
  • Deal True damage to targets with lots of Magic Resist

  • Sorcery 5/5 - Brand has 5 Damage Abilities, this makes them do more damage
  • Fresh Blood 1/1 - Brand's Full combo involves at least 1 auto attack, and trades in lane usually involve auto attacking
  • Natural Talent 5/5 - Free AD & AP per Level
  • Double Edged Sword 1/1 - The trade off for doing more damage and taking more damage is easily worth it on Brand, most the time you won't be getting hit, and when you do, you are able to cast all your abilities before dying anyways.
  • Piercing Thoughts 5/5 - Percentage Magic Pen will help you later into the game when enemy targets get more than 1 Magic Resist item, it's like your free Void Staff.
  • Deathfire Touch 1/1 - After the nerfs to "Precision & Merciless" it's way more valuable to go into the Ferocity tree and get Deathfire Touch over Thunderlord's, Brand also makes use of DFT by only hitting 1 Ability, and DFT can apply to multiple targets as well easily equating to more damage than Thunderlord's


Wanderer 5/5 - Lets you get back to lane faster, position for skillshots easier, and move from one lane to another quicker.
Secret Stash 1/1 - You start with 3 Health Pots 2003.png this gives you extra value from them, for free.
Merciless 5/5 - More Damage to low targets, more damage.
Grandfather's Gift 1/1 - If you hit an ability out of a bush than it procs this giving you, more damage.

Every Ability you hit deals extra magic damage over 4 seconds, if you hit 3 Abilities in a row, you get an even bigger bonus creating a fire ring around the enemy, that detonates.

  • Hitting 1 Ability lets you cash in all 3 3303.png Stacks
  • Hitting 3 Abilities in a row triggers another damaging ability.
  • Applies to Multiple targets
  • When targets are affected by the Blaze Passive,brandpassive.png it empowers

Fires a long range, short width fireball

  • Good for hitting champions Bot lane Bush
  • Can be blocked by Minions or other Champions
  • Stuns targets hit when brandpassive.png is already applied
  • Try to be on the top or bot side of the Bot lane to lane this on enemies, can't hit it through minions so move around them.

brandw.png Pillar of Flame

Can be cast from long range, and creates a circle that denotates shortly after being cast, and all enemies hit take a good amount of damage.

  • brandpassive.png's targets take more damage 
  • Look to cast as the enemy ADC is going to hit a CS
  • Free hit if you Stun the target with brandq.png
  • Cast past the enemy caster minions to hit even the longest range ADC
  • Longest range and easiest ability to hit, so you should use this as your main poke ability.

brande.png Conflagration 

On click cast, can't miss, cost the most Mana, short range.

  • Does Least amount of damage out of all Abilities
  • Cost the most mana
  • But you can't miss it
  • Sets you up for Easy  brande.png > brandq.png Combo
  • Against Melee matchups getting in range to hit E might be to risky and should be avoided until you have poked them down enough with W brandw.png

brandr.png Pyroclasm

On Click Cast, Bounces from Champion to Champion, huge team fight damage when enemies are clumped
  • Applies brandpassive.png to all targets
  • Single target damage applies 3116.png
  • High damage and low cooldown, just drop it when enemies are clumped
  • When enemies clump together throw this on them

Spelltheif's Edge rewards you for damaging the enemy, a nice perk of brand is that Brand's Passive brandpassive.png applies all 3 stacks of 3303.png
2009.png You should look to trade your Health Pots for the enemy ADC's Health Pots.

3340.png You only get a Trinket ward 180 Seconds (3 minutes) so you need to have a good read on the Enemy Jungler potential location.


Once you get 2049.png Sightstone, you can switch to Sweeper, holding on to 3340.png is only beneficial if you are trapped on your side of the map.



Build path

3303.png > 3098.png > 3020.png > 2049.png > 2301.png > 1026.png > 1052.png > 1028.png > 3116.png > 3136.png > 3151.png > 3135.png
This is just an example you don't have to copy it exactly every single game

Generally, you want to building towards the cheapest AP option available

Delaying Sightstone is ok, sometimes you will get 2 kills or so before first back, and might be able to buy a full 3136.png or 3020.png  

Rylais or Landry's first? 

3116.png  Rylais - is cheaper and gives you more team fighting utility
3151.png Liandry's - Gives you much higher damage from Brand's Abilities

After that?

The likelihood of games going long enough for you to complete an item after 3151.png3116.png3135.png is pretty low, but if you do these aren't bad options
  • 3041.png Really Cheap and has potential to snowball off winning late game team fights
  • 3092.png Sell 2301.png for 2045.png and then buy 3092.png, the active lets you catch out targets and slow them setting up for easy CC, also pops Spell Shields

  • Watch out for his all in, Flash his headbutt.png
  • Don't cast abilities on him in lane, his base health is one of the hgihest in the game and starts with 3 health pots, so you will just be wasting your Mana
  • In team fights when he engages onto your team and you don't get hit, be ready to cast all your abilities on the enemy carries behind him.



  • Ashe will always be in rage to get hit by a brandw.png when CS'ing, so hit her with it.
  • Stand in Minions so you can't be hit by volley.png

  • Don't be afraid of him, cast abilities on/at him while he is attempting to hit a hook
  • When he misses hook run at him with auto attacks and abilities

  • Can wear him down over time in lane with brandw.pngbrandq.png poke, but all ins are really hard since he has braume.pngbraumw.png3.png
  • Be cautious of braumrwrapper.png during team fights
  • His braume.png only blocks damage from brandr.png to him, it still bounces 



  • Don't walk at her with auto attacks, she out ranges you and will easily do more damage
  • If all in-ing be ready to follow caitlynentrapment.png with 4.png brandq.png
  • Lane bushes will probably have caitlynyordletrap.png in them




Janna makes your life lame, roam mid or top lol 



  • In lane don't trade with him if his 4th shot is up
  • Watch out for jhinq.png bouncing off minions onto you
  • If you get damaged by any champion Jhin will look to root you with jhinw.png be ready to dodge it from a fairly long range


Lee Sin

  • If he lands a blindmonkqone.png expect him to ward hop and blindmonkrkick.png kick you into his team, be ready to flash that
  • brandw.png > brandq.png to areas he attempts to ward hop to for instant stun
  • brandr.png if you think he is trying to escape back to his team with blindmonkwone.png




Leona's engage is very easy for her to get onto you

During the laning phase stay to poking with brandw.png and keep your distance

Come Mid game don't be caught out in the jungle or fog of war in general alone or you an expect Leona and her allies to find you.

Try to start fights around objectives so you can get good ULTs brandr.png and snowball the mid game into late game.



sonaq.png poke can wear you down, if sona cast it from max range can be a problem
brandw.png has a long range and can hit almost any AD without being hit by sona 
If you catch sona in close enough or from the fog of war a full combo will most likely kill her brande.pngbrandq.pngbrandw.pngbrandr.png




Soraka neutralizes the laning phase since Brand and Soraka are very strong support laners, but come to team fights you can offer more by getting 5 man ULTs brandr.png and even damage soraka from long range with brandw.pngbrandq.png



  • Watch out for all in level 2 4.pngthreshe.png 14.png
  • Stand in your Minions so you can't be Hooked threshq.png
  • Anyone that you Stun he will look to save with threshw.png Drop an ULT brandr.png on them as they are traveling back, so it will bounce off them as they are trying to escape.

  • Aim Abilities towards the area he will land in after using yasuodashwrapper.png
  • Only attempt to land point blank brandq.png 's or he will block with Windwallyasuowmovingwall.png



  • Always tag with brande.png as he goes in, then get as close as possible to him so you don't miss and hit him with brandq.png to stun, and pray
  • brandr.png ULT Zed if he is going to go back to his shadow into his team after attempting an assassination
  • If he has 3ish kills around 15 minutes he can probably kill you with zedw.pngzede.pngzedq.png and 1 auto attack, just run 




Brand destroys Zoe support so long that you don't get hit by zoee.png 

brandw.png a few hit W's will put her at very very low HP, any full combo will kill her.

Don't be afraid to flash past zoee.png to land a brande.pngbrandq.png on her.

Early Game Back to Top

Early Game for Brand is pretty simple, damage the enemy while using as little Mana as possible, to setup for a kill once they are low enough, or force them off CS with your Health, Mana & Position advantage.

You want to avoid ganks at all cost, you will feel the pain of an early death for a long, LONG time on Brand especially if the enemy has a lot of CC from their Jungle + Support

Farming 3303.png Spelltheif's & Poking 

You need to manage casting your Abilities in relation to how many3303.png  Spelltheif's Stacks, if you only have 1 stack you don't have to drop a full combo on the enemy, by not casting abilities all the time as well, you sustain your mana for a longer period of time, while also cons

tantly applying damage to the enemy, wearing them down over time.

brandr.png Level 6

When you hit level 6 around (8 - 11) Minutes in you can use Brand's ULT pretty liberally, if you do this you will get better concepts of when you should use it, and then why you should use it during certain points of the game.
  • Enemies Clumped in lane
  • Teamfight around Dragon
  • Want to threaten them out of lane
  • etc..

Laning Phase Back to Top

Laning Phase is the Primary reason you pick Brand Support.

Brand's Ability to control & bully the enemy laners is very very strong

brandw.png Lets you punish an ADC standing in their minion line, while they go to last hit a CS.
brandq.png Lets you hit anyone on the sides of the minions,

 or standing in one of the bot lane bushes.

If you miss one spell, don't try to go all in, and start casting the rest of them, that waste too much mana and results in nothing, remember Brand's abilities get bonuses off each other, so cast one every time it comes off cooldown, or combo them all togeather at once to Stun the enemy, and get a huge amount of burst from brandpassive.png&14.png


If the enemy laner has a lot of sustain don't worry about it, poke a small amount just to farm your 3303.png Spelltheif's Stacks, and if an opportunity arises you can all in with 14.png

Against all in lanes (12.png53.png)

Don't play like you are scared of them, if you don't flash their key abilities (pulverize.pngrocketgrab.png) than you will most likely die, but if you do correctly then you will either kill them, or put them in a position of much less control.

Mid Game Back to Top

Mid game can be a lot less interactive for Brand depending on if you have a lead or not.

Having a Lead

When you do enter the Mid game as Brand with a Lead, you can't force much if you are only running down lanes expecting the enemies to come fight you, what you should be doing is looking to fight with your teammates with CC, most likely your Top Laner and Jungler, go to where they are and try to stay hidden on your way there, camp bushes and setup picks, if the enemy is stupid enough to run into you while you are sitting in a lane drop your brandr.png ULT on them.

Not having a lead

Stay behind your team, don't try to start fights, and focus on responding to fights or punishing enemy mistakes rather than trying to force literally anything.

Late Game

Depending how most games go you are going to be afking mid or dancing around Baron for a majority of Late Game, it isn't up to you to start fights, you either want to get a pick by sitting in a bush with a 2055.png Ward, or wait behind your team for a random fight to start.

In a perfect scenario, though, you should be baiting objectives and be waiting for the enemy to walk near a bush that your team is setup in, or be walking with your Jungler/Mid/Top laner to get your damage off brandr.pngbrande.pngbrandw.pngbrandq.png as they start a fight.

Don't get Hit

Most likely if you get hit by literally anything late game as Brand Support you will instantly be killed, since enemy carries should have a 3-4 level lead on you, so be ready to 4.png Flash literally everything

Team Fighting Back to Top

Team Fighting as Brand is pretty simple
  • Don't get hit by Stuns
  • Make sure to hit multiple CARRIES or Squishy targets (ADC,Mid,non tanks) with your ULT brandr.png
  • Hit a carry with Full Combo (brande.pngbrandq.pngbrandw.png

Most the time you will respond to fights, and you don't have to rush to catch up and instantly cast your full combo, you can wait to get into a prime position, where can actually hit the key targets on the enemy team with your abilities rather than just the front line.

brandr.png You can cast your ULT on the enemies front line if they are close enough to the enemy carries, so that the ULT will bounce onto them, it is very key that you get on your ULT on multiple people since it not only applies the damage but also applies 3151.png & 3116.png 's Passive onto them, gimping their movement speed, and inflicting % health damage.

Once you cast a full combo, you should be looking to reposition, or standing back and observing the fight, you don't want to commit WAYYYY into the enemy just to get an auto attack off.

Warding Back to Top

Warding with the 3340.png Warding Trinket

At the start of every game, your only options for warding before you get 2049.png Sightstone, is to use the 3340.png Warding Trinket.

The 3340.png Warding Trinket only gives you a 60 Second ward, that gives you a very small range of vision compared to a 2049.pngSightstone's Vison Ward.

The best way to make use of the Warding Trinket during the early laning phase, is to place it before the enemy jungler shows up, this will change every game depending on the enemy jungler, generally here are some good spots to trinket

Trinkets Outlined in Blue are for when you are on Blue Side
Trinkets Outlined in Red, hey you guessed it, are for when you are on Red Side.
Trinkets Outlined with both, work well on either side.

If you have full control over a lane, placing a trinket in the bot lane bushes isn't terrible as long as you play around the possibility of Gank timing windows properly.


3340.png / 3341.png
Once you get Sightstone, you generally want to switch to Sweeper, but you can make use of the trinket wards in a very extended laning phase, but after say 20 minutes, you will most likely NEED to switch to sweeper or you will be walking through enemy wards the entire game.

So when you get Sightstone the ENTIRE game changes. There are ways you SHOULD use, and ways you CAN use it.


Where to place a Sightstone Ward, has a LOT of  factors that go into why or when you should place a ward, hopefully, this makes it simpler:

When To place a Ward

  • If you know the enemy is likely to come from an area in 1-2 minutes.
  • If the enemy has the ability to jump over walls, ward over the wall they would come from ex (9.png64.png)
  • So you can spot enemy champions moving from one lane to another in the fog of war.

When not to place a ward

  • You are near a bush and there isn't a ward in it
  • When you are in a lane and afraid that someone is in that bush you are going to ward
  • When you already have vision of the target you are try to ward against

Mid - Late Game Warding

  1. Do you have advantage and 2-3 champions with you > get a ward in their jungle
  2. Is the game even / you have no ally champions to assist with deep warding > Ward river / entrances to your jungle
  3. Are you behind / multiple towers have fallen > Ward your Jungle.

Here are all easy Warding spots.



Mid - Late game, you shouldn't be going on solo missions into the enemies side of the jungle to get a useless deep ward, only to find 5 champions and a gray screen. Anytime you want to get a ward on the enemies side of the map, ping your laners / jungler to assist you with walking into the enemy jungle, who knows you might find a solo member of the enemy team instead and be able to pick up an easy kill.
