Summoner Spells Back to Top

4.png

Flash is the most powerful summoner spell in the game that will save you from many early ganks. The summoner spell also allows you to play more aggressive in teamfights. On Camille this summoner is especially great as you can combo this with your Hookshot [E] camillee.png much like 98.png can with his Shadow Dash [E] shene.png. It's extremely vital to know how to pull of this combo, so practice it in sandbox mode. Despite the high cooldown, the raw power and flexibility of Flash makes other options feel underwhelming.

179.png

12.png

Teleport is another very strong summoner spell that is powerful and flexible throughout every stage of the game. In the earlygame, you will most likely use it for either getting back into lane quickly or using it to teleport behind the enemy botlane. However, before doing the latter you must be sure that your team will get something out of this teleport. If you don't feel like you will get drake, kills or a tower with this teleport then it's probably not a good idea to use it as you will be losing a lot of experience and gold from teleporting away from your lane. If your botlane offers a lot of crowd control and the enemy botlane is pushing too far, this could however be a great way to give your team an advantage. Camille is one of the champions that take a long time to ramp up, so teleporting without any gain will make you lose a lot.

In the mid and late-game, you generally want to use this spell to teleport to dragon and baron. You can alternatively walk to the objective and then teleport back to the opposite side of the map after the objective if the enemy team has a lot of catch potential. Using teleport as flank tool if you have a ward behind the enemy team is a situational and dangerous option, but it can work if your team is able to quick enough follow up with your play. If you're really far ahead in the splitpush, it's generally better to just stay on the sidelane if your team knows how to play 1-4. In lower tiers of gameplay it might be better to group though.

Constantly reminding your team when you have teleport advantage will alone increase your chances of winning.

New Runes Back to Top

Camille has a decent amount of options, but the best primary tree is Sorcery. This is mainly due to Arcane Comet Arcane%20Comet.png?width=32. This rune has great synergy with your camillew.png (and also camillee.png to some extent) in lane, giving your main tool of earlygame harass more power. It's not the best lategame mastery, but it will help you get to your powerspikes.

Manaflow Band Manaflow%20Band.png?width=32 is another fantastic earlygame rune. It gives you more incentive to take the Doran's items 1055.png1054.png instead of 2033.png due to you being less mana deprived. This rune will give you the ability to continuously spam your camillew.png in lane without running out of mana. Nullifying Orb Nullifying%20Orb.png?width=32 is also a great option if you're against an AP toplaner such as 84.png68.png.

While none of the Transcendence.png?width=32Celerity.png?width=32Absolute%20Focus.png?width=32 options are extremely good, but you can take either Transcendence Transcendence.png?width=32 or Celerity Celerity.png?width=32. Both are good options. I'd value Transcendence.png?width=32 more in difficult matchups (more cdr = more sustain) and Celerity.png?width=32 more in easier matchups (more movementspeed = more snowball).

Scorch Scorch.png?width=32 is the best rune here just because the others are pretty terrible. This simply gives you more harass in lane.

As stated earlier, Sorcery is fantastic for the earlygame and since your lategame is so strong already it's generally better to try to make it easier to get to that point. However, in very specific matchups you want to go into the precision tree. Since you wont make use of Arcane%20Comet.png?width=32 against very mobile fighters such as 24.png114.png39.png, going Press The AttackPress%20the%20Attack.png?width=32has a lot more value. It synergizes really well with your camilleq.png and scales a lot better than most other runes.  Triumph Triumph.png?width=32 is another no-brainer, but the next rune depends on the enemy team comp. Alacrity Legend%20Alacrity.png?width=32 is rarely the best choice on Camille as you're not very attack speed reliant compared to other fighters in the same role. TenacityLegend%20Tenacity.png?width=32 is obviously great when the enemy team has a lot of CC and you want to be teamfighting a lot. BloodlineLegend%20Bloodline.png?width=32 is fantastic when you're going to be dueling a lot and mostly splitpushing throughout the game.

The next rune isnt very obvious either. Coup De Grace Coup%20De%20Grace.png?width=32 is fantastic in good matchups whereas Last Stand Last%20Stand.png?width=32 is better in harder matchups. And since you'll be going in this tree against mobile fighters (who generally are good against Camille), going for Last%20Stand.png?width=32 is usually the best choice.

179.png
As for secondary tree, you don't have a lot more options. You'll be going into the Resolve tree as (once again) it gives you tools to survive the earlygame. Against an AD toplaner, such as 58.png126.png, taking Iron Skin Iron%20Skin.png?width=32 is a no-brainer. Against AP toplaners such as 84.png68.png you'll obviously be taking Mirror ShellMirror%20Shell.png?width=32 instead. Second Wind Second%20Wind.png?width=32 will be your 2nd rune. It's fantastic, especially against toplaners with a lot of harass such as 126.png85.png.

camillepassive.png

Adaptive Defensives [P]

This is a fun passive that rewards aggressive play. This gives you the ability to initiate trades without getting punished in a lot of matchups. Its not fantastic against some champions like 85.png98.png who have a lot of mixed damage, but its still a great passive for early trading. The shield amount scales with your HP which gives items like 3748.png3053.png more value.
179.png
camilleq.png

Precision Protocol [Q]

A very well designed and unique ability. This is where most of your damage will come from. Timing is key, and while its not too difficult to use (thanks to a sound cue), it takes some time getting used to it. If you miss the timing you will lose a very large amount of your damage, especially lategame. This cue is pretty much the reason why I don't listen to music while playing Camille. You can use 3077.png active to cancel the animation of the 2nd camilleq.png proc.
179.png
camillew.png

Tactical Sweep [W]

This ability is fantastic in lane. It gives you great poke and good sustain against matchups that would otherwise be very tough. It's a reliable way of dealing against annoying ranged champions. You can use it to catch up to certain champions or setting up your camillee.png. In the late game, casting this can slow down your damage output when you're fighting in melee range due to its long animation. You can use 3077.png to cancel the animation though.
179.png

camillee.png

Hookshot [E]

Hands down one of the strongest abilities in the game. The mobility it gives you is unmatched and allows you to flank carries and catch people out. It's not the best form of escape as the range is shorter when not cast towards an opponent. It's best used aggressively as it stuns your opponent, gives you an attack speed buff when hit, and gets an increased ranged towards opponents. You can combo this ability with 4.png much like 98.png can with his Shadow Dash [E] shene.png. It's extremely vital to know how to pull of this combo, so practice it in sandbox mode.

179.png

camiller.png

The Hextech Ultimatum [R]

While its not the strongest ultimate in the game, it's definitely a great ability to set up ganks, snowballing a sidelane lead, or isolating a priority target in a teamfight. You can also use it to dodge certain abilities, like 4.png Gold Card pickacard.png thanks to the split second you become untargetable during the cast animation. It's not the strongest ability when behind, but it can still be used to lock otherwise mobile targets like 38.png7.png down to protect your carries. In certain matchups like against 24.png and his Counterstrike jaxcounterstrike.png, its crucial to predict when he will proc it so you can dodge the stun.

127.jpg

In most melee matchups you want to be maxing camilleq.png first. After the rune changes, it's not a bad idea to take a few points in camillew.png early as it synergizes really well with Arcane%20Comet.png?width=32. If this rune gets nerfed however, I expect people to go back just putting 1 point in it before maxing out the other abilities. Against ranged matchups it can be worth to go for many points in camillee.png early on. Your overall damage would be lower against most champs as you wont be putting as many points on your camilleq.png, but you wont be using your camilleq.png realistically that much against ranged champs, so you might as well put some into camillee.png for more value.

STARTING ITEMS

1054.png2003.png

Against lanebullies such as 58.png126.png, this item has a lot of value. It will help in neutralizing the earlygame and gives a lot of regeneration against continuous poke. Very solid item if your main goal is to simply survive.

2033.png

This item is great for matchups where you want to play a little more aggressive and in matchups where you're not going to get poked out as much, and where your main way of harass is camillew.png. For example against24.png240.png this item will give you the most value.

1055.png2003.png

While this item is generally better to get after your first recall, and is rarely something you will buy as your first starting item. It can be a good first buy against some tanks, like 75.png where they won't be able to do anything to you early on.

1083.png2003.png

Don't get this as your first item unless you're against 27.png where you'll only be farming. This is otherwise a fine item to get when you're ahead and you just need to scale a bit.

127.jpg

CORE ITEMS

3078.png

This gives you the raw damage you need in order to win duels. It's expensive but has strong components which will help you scale. You always want to get this as your first completed item no matter what. The 3057.png component is especially powerful combined with your empowered camilleq.png

3074.png or 3748.png

Both are great items on Camille and grant her good sidelane control, but depending on the situation one will be more suitable than the other.
3074.png is great if you want to splitpush a lot or if the enemy team lacks burst damage. The longer the fight, the more value this item gets thanks to the lifesteal component. In a sidelane, this item will allow you to trade with the opponent, back out, and lifesteal back the HP that you lost from the trade and be at an HP advantage. You can also use its active to cancel animations from your camilleq.png and camillew.png.

3748.png gives you more raw health and damage. Great for teamfighting and against damage heavy teams with a lot of burst. Due to the health it gives it also synergizes with your passive camillepassive.png.

127.jpg

SITUATIONAL ITEMS

3053.png

This is a fantastic item against burst. Its also great for both teamfights and duels. The bonus AD it grants synergizes well with 3078.png. If you're forced to splitpush against a fed 91.png238.png, getting this item will help you survive their burst while also giving you offensive stats. Also synergizes with your passive camillepassive.png.

3156.png

Similar to 3053.png, this grants a shield when dropping low on health. This item is obviously only valuable against AP heavy comps though. If you're up against a fed AP splitpusher and the rest of the enemy team is AD heavy, just buy a 3155.png and upgrade it later so your teamfighting doesn't become garbage because you're only investing into splitpush (unless you're certain that you're only going to be splitpushing).

3026.png

As long you're not behind, this is a fantastic 3rd item. It gives you a great way to survive teamfights while dealing a lot of damage. Due to your high mobility, you're not as vulnerable as most champs are when getting out of the passive. Its passive scales with how far ahead you are, so the stronger you are the more valuable this passive is. Buy this to keep your snowball rolling.

 3065.png vs 3194.png

Spirit visage is a pretty good item on Camille if you bought 3074.png or 3156.png and its synergy with camillew.png. Its also a good item to pick up when you have healers on your team like 16.png or 37.png. If you compare the stats of this item to 3194.png, it's not all too shabby. If you're not up against champions like 68.png90.png, the bonus stats can be good enough for you to buy 3065.png. If you are against these damage-over-time based champions, getting 3194.png is usually better. You can even go both if you're up against a very heavy AP-based team composition. This will give you 40% and extremely good durability against magic damage. Keep in mind that 3194.png is a great item against 96.png as it will decrease the amount of damage you take from his kogmawbioarcanebarrage.png.

3075.png

Against auto attackers that heal a lot in duels, like 39.png114.png84.png, getting a 3076.png after your core can be a good idea, especially if you're behind. I wouldn't upgrade this item until lategame though as the healing reduction from 3076.png will be good enough for most stages of the game. The only exception to this is when the enemy team has a 429.png3075.png is fantastic against this particular champion.

3143.png

This is the best item to get when the enemy has a fed AD carry. The damage reduction you get from the critical hit reduction is extremely valuable when all you need to do in a teamfight is soak up damage from the enemy carry. The added slow is also fantastic when you're up close to the marksman as you'll make it harder for her to kite you.

3742.png

This is a good item to pick up when the enemy team isn't very auto attack dependent. It gives more stats and a great passive to give you more damage in fights. If the enemy carry isn't very strong or doesn't depend on crits/auto attacks, this is a good pickup. It gives you more power heading into duels against 92.png126.png than most other tank items.

VS

Akali

Medium
KEY ITEMS: 3155.png3057.png3077.png

Akali can sometimes pop up as an attempted counter to Camille. Her post-6 earlygame can be quite difficult to deal with. While your camillew.png should hold her in place in early levels, once she gets her Shadow Dance [R] akalishadowdance.png and more importantly 3146.png, she'll be at a pretty big advantage. You can cast your camillee.pngcamilleq.pngcamillew.png combo for some free damage. Unless you're pushed up, she can't really dive you too deep without either taking a lot of minion aggro or tower aggro back. She can however react with a quick Twilight Shroud [W] akalismokebomb.png as you attempt your camillee.png and win the trade. Try to save your camiller.png for when she's already used her akalismokebomb.png or she can pretty much stay hidden for the entire duration. You could go for a 3077.png before your 3078.png as its active will reveal where Akali is in her akalismokebomb.png, and it gives you much needed waveclear. While this decreases the amount of all-ins she can force (due to your favorable minion waves thanks to 3077.png) it will make you less powerful in duels.

The later the game goes, the stronger you get in this matchup. While the early-midgame is rough, your numbers are just higher later on and with a proper build you should win any all-in even if you miss half your spells.

VS

Cho'Gath

Easy
KEY ITEMS: 1083.png3077.png

Farm farm farm. You can't really play aggressive against this tradegy of a champion. He'll trade evenly with you and then just outsustain you. Your best bet is saving your abilities for when he decides to go aggressive on you. Only use your camillee.png defensively or when you're receiving a gank. Getting a 1083.png3077.png early on is recommended to neutralize his constant pushing, as it will still allow you to be present in the lane despite the fact that you can't fight him.

If you're not too far behind once midgame comes around and you have your 3078.png and 3074.png/3748.png you should be getting sidelane control over him. As long as you focus on not getting hit by his Rupture [Q] rupture.png the duels should be yours. If you realize that he's ahead, you can just play safe until you get more items. He doesn't really have a good way to force a fight as your mobility is far better than his.

VS

Darius

Medium

To an inexperienced player, Darius can be a bit of a bully for the mid-early game. He has a powerful lane, strong 2v2 and high kill potential. Your job as Camille will never be to destroy him in lane. You want to make sure he doesn't snowball or get a big lead on you. Farming safetly and not dying should be your primary goal. Using all of your abilities defensively and waiting for your jungler to aid you is the way to succeed in this matchup. You will outscale him later on and be more useful as long as you don't get completely destroyed early on. Be careful when using your camillee.png as he can cancel it with Apprehend [E] dariusaxegrabcone.png. Your camiller.png timing should obviously be to dodge his Decimate [Q] dariuscleave.png.

In the lategame, you'll be stronger than him in both splitpushes and teamfights. This gives you a lot of flexibility to do whatever you like later on.

VS

Fiora

Hard

KEY ITEMS: 3047.png

One of the harder matchups in the game. This is due to the fact that her play pattern in lane counters yours fairly well, her Riposte [W] fioraw.png is very powerful against all your abilities, and she's one of the few champions that can match your insane scaling.

In lane, she's going to try to poke your vitals with her Lunge [Q] fioraq.png. This gives you a window to use your camillew.png on her. If she's smart, she will keep this in mind and stay in melee range of you so she doesn't get hit by it. Therefore it's best to wait for her to be in range of it before using it. Using camillew.png when her fioraq.png is off-cooldown is very bad since she'll both be able to jump on you for free and have no fear of getting hit back by your camillew.png since it's now on cooldown. If she uses her fioraw.png to avoid the early harass from your camillew.png you can attempt to jump on her with camillee.png. Keep in mind that she can use a quick fioraq.png to dodge it however so it's never a risk-free trade. Never use your camillee.png when her fioraw.png is up unless you're both very close to a wall (this will leave her with a very short amount of time to react to it). You're pretty much never going to win a trade if she manages to stun you as she fioraw.png your camillee.png. She can even viably fioraw.png your 2nd camilleq.png proc. It's usually a good idea to save your camillee.png for when she uses her Grand Challenge [R] fiorar.png so you can jump away from it, so doing a camilleq.pngcamillew.pngcamilleq.png combo is generally never a bad decision.

In the lategame, you'll be more flexible in a teamfight whereas her power in a duel will be much better. If you opted for 3074.png, you'll be able to sustain her sidelane poke and survive a dive. It will however be favorable to force teamfights rather than sidelane, as Fiora is the queen of sidelane splitpush in the lategame.

VS

Galio

Easy
KEY ITEMS: 1083.png3077.png
Another tank, another farm lane. Your kill potential on him is pretty low in the early stages of the game. Getting an early 3077.png will help with sidelane control. He's going to continuously push waves and poke you down with his Winds of War [Q] galioq.png. You'll be able to sustain most of it by landing your camillew.png whenever you can. You have openings to play aggressive with a camilleq.pngcamilleq.pngcamillew.png combo when the minion waves are equal and his galioq.png is on cooldown. You can even throw in a camillee.png if the enemy jungler isn't top.

Later on in the game, you'll demolish him in a sidelane. Play aggressive so he can't play the map. Keep in mind that you can camiller.png his Shield of Durand [W] galiow.png.

VS

Gangplank

Easy

Gangplank is solid in lane against you if he manages to get a lot of Parrrleys [Q] gangplankqwrapper.png and Powder Kegs [E] gangplanke.png on you. If he gangplankqwrapper.png you, you can always be in range to camillew.png him back. If you have a bit of movement speed, you will be able to catch up to him thanks to the slow and get a few auto attacks off on him. If he uses Remove Scurvy [W] gangplankw.png to cleanse the slow for some reason, you're free to camillee.png on him and smash his face in.

His gangplanke.png can be a bit tricky to avoid sometimes, but a common combo I use to answer them is by camillee.png towards Gangplank as he plants them, and killing the gangplanke.png as quickly as possible with an auto+camilleq.png. This will almost guarantee a free gangplanke.png kill unless he times a perfect gangplankw.png and blasts the gangplanke.png himself. This is a great technique you can use when you're not afraid of getting ganked and you just want to pressure him. Keep in mind that your camillee.png cooldown is quite long.

The longer the game goes, the easier this matchup becomes. In the lategame, you're going to out damage him as long as you don't get hit by too many gangplanke.png in a duel. He's also a very good target to camiller.png in teamfights.

VS

Gnar

Medium
KEY ITEMS: 3047.png
Gnar can be tough to play against if he knows what he's doing. He's one of the few champions that can poke you down and stay out of camillew.png range while doing so. He can use a well timed Hop [E] gnare.png to consistently avoid your camillee.png which is generally when he wins most of his trades. If he doesn't use this ability to dodge yours, you've got a big advantage in an all-in. Generally, the most risk-free way of playing this lane is waiting until he's in Mini form and gets in range of your camillew.png to slow him down, so you can start hitting him with autos and camilleq.png. If he jumps away, his gnare.png will be on cooldown and you're pretty much free to camillee.png. If you have 3047.png3044.png he shouldn't be able to kite you as well as he will much later in the game. If you initiate with camillee.png and he gnare.png away, you can retaliate with a camillew.png before backing off.

It can be hard to judge when to use your camiller.png. If you engage on him when he's in Mega form, saving this for when he's  transforming into mini would generally be the best option. You can also use it to predict his GNAR! [R] gnarr.png, but that's never a guarantee and offers a very high risk but a high reward.

Even though you scale better than him, when he has his core 3022.png3071.png3047.png, he will still be really annoying to play against. You always need to be the aggressor, and even just very small mistakes will put you in a very bad position. Now when your camillee.png is on a lower cooldown you can use it a lot more aggressively. It's generally a good idea to use this from fog of war so he can't react with a  gnare.png

VS

Irelia

Medium
KEY ITEMS: 3047.png
Irelia is a pretty straight forward champion which makes her easy to learn how to play against. Despite this, this matchup can be fairly difficult if she knows what she's doing. She spikes a lot earlier than you and has better numbers for the earlygame and midgame. Her ultimate is stronger 1v1 and has a much more reliable way to jump on her opponents. Pre-6 will be slightly in your favor, but you don't really want to play too aggressive unless she's bad and lets you camilleq.pngcamillee.pngcamilleq.pngcamillew.png for free. Keep in mind that she can use Bladesurge [Q]ireliagatotsu.png on to you as you channel your camillew.png, so in later levels its crucial to be patient with this ability.

The later the game gets, the stronger you'll be in this matchup. Getting a 3140.png in this matchup isn't such a bad idea, especially if the rest of the enemy team has some kind of CC. It helps against Irelia's Equilibrium Strike [E] ireliaequilibriumstrike.png in duels. Before engaging, you should usually wait until her Hiten Style [W] ireliahitenstyle.png is on cooldown. This ability is very powerful for Irelia and will make a lot of her trades favorable.

VS

Jarvan IV

Easy
KEY ITEMS: 3078.png
Jarvan has a decent laningphase against you. It's important to not play too aggressive and keep your distance. Hitting every camillew.png is vital if you want to survive his Dragon Strike [Q] jarvanivdragonstrike.png poke. If he wastes any of his abilities, you have a window to camillee.png and chunk him. Keep in mind that his cooldowns are shorter and be prepared for him to retaliate.

He won't have much to say in a splitpush scenario. Once you have your core 3078.png and 3074.png/3748.png, you should be able to win every duel. His midgame is still fairly strong and can put out a lot of damage, so don't play aggressive if he's ahead. Be patient and look for windows when he starts falling off in the lategame. Let your team know where Jarvan is at all times since he's quite a strong roamer.

VS

Jax

Hard

While Jax isn't the strongest lane counter, he does ramp up faster than you and doesn't really slow down at any point of the game. You can retaliate really well to both of his most common trade patterns. If he uses Counterstrike [E] jaxcounterstrike.png, walks up to you and chunks you for damage, you can camillew.png back at him. If he uses Leap Strike [Q] jaxleapstrike.png to dodge this ability, you can camillee.png him for free and get a lot of damage on him. You can do this even if he uses his jaxleapstrike.png on you to avoid camillew.png. Despite the fact you're now taking damage from his jaxleapstrike.png, he'll also be taking more minion damage. In another situation where he initiates his trade with jaxleapstrike.png you need to be a bit more careful. Hitting him with autoattacks will make him use his jaxcounterstrike.png, so its important to start hitting him as fast as possible so he doesn't get his jaxleapstrike.png cooldown back up fast enough to just jump away again. After his jaxcounterstrike.png is over and you haven't take too much damage, you can trade back on him with camilleq.pngcamillee.pngcamilleq.png.

This matchup doesn't get very favorable later on. If you both have 6 items, it's very skill dependent. If you manage to dodge his jaxcounterstrike.png with camiller.png, you'll be at an advantage. If you don't, he'll have the advantage. Since your champion is more mobile and flexible in teamfights you're usually better off looking for a flank on the enemy team.

VS

Jayce

Medium
KEY ITEMS: 3047.png3078.png
Jayce has a very strong laningphase. He has more spells than you and a lot more damage. The new runes benefit him quite a lot and his only real setback are his manacosts. Laning against Jayce could deserve an entire guide on its own, but to put it simply, you can never really overextend against him or he can run at you with his hammer and bash your head in. You do have some tools to retaliate, however. Using camillew.png as he's trying to poke you will possibly neutralize the trade and make him take more damage from minions as getting out of minion range when CC'd is slower. You can use your camillee.png to poke him if he stands too close to a wall. Keep in mind that this can put you in a bad position and could give him room to trade back and chase you down with his movement speed buffs. Generally it's best to just hit as many camillew.png as possible while waiting for jungle ganks. He's really easy to gank, especially with your setup.

If you don't get too behind in the early-midgame, you should easily be able to duel him as long as you're not getting poked. He's very squishy so playing with any lack of vision he might have will give you a huge edge in duels.

VS

Kennen

Medium

KEY ITEMS: 3111.png3047.png

Definitely an annoying little yordle to lane against. His range is fairly good so he won't always be in range for camillew.png, but its important to hit him with camillew.png as often as you can to reduce his pressure. If you manage to poke him down with this you'll be fine before the first recall. If he recklessly stands too close to a wall you can initiate on to him with an camilleq.pngcamillee.pngcamilleq.pngcamillew.png combo. If he doesn't manage to kennenlightningrush.png away, in time, you can chunk him for a lot of damage. If he does manage to kennenlightningrush.png away, you've got everything on cooldown and will be taking a lot of damage. This is why its crucial to make sure you can hit this ability before using it.

If you get out of laningphase without too big of a deficit, you're pretty well off. You scale a lot better than him and as long as you play aggressively and hit your camillee.png in duels, he can't really have presence in a sidelane.

VS

Kled

Easy
KEY ITEMS: 3047.png
Kled's pretty good in lane and trades fairly well into the few earlygame strengths that you have. If he uses his Bear Trap on a Rope [Q] kledq.png you can't really reliably hit your camillew.png until after the slow has worn off. He'll easily be able to use his Jousting [E] klede.png to avoid it as he jumps you and chunks you, and the slow his kledq.png applies will make it easier for him to dodge out of your camillew.png. If Kled lets you auto attack him during his kledq.png, your camillepassive.png will block a lot of his damage output in small trades. You have windows to play aggressive when he uses his Violet Tendencies [W] kledw.png on minions. Simply camilleq.pngcamillew.pngcamilleq.png combo him and if he attempt to klede.png away you can just camillee.png him and get a lot of damage off. The key to playing against Kled is getting him just low enough so that he doesn't unmount, waiting for your cooldowns or him to use his kledw.png while mounted, shredding the little HP off of him so that he unmounts, and using your abilities that are now off cooldown to finish him off.

You need to be careful when he has his 3748.png3071.png powerspike. You'll be fine as long as you don't play aggressive. Play the scaling game and look for your own item spikes.

VS

Malphite

Medium

You won't ever be able to kill Malphite. He has a lot of answers for your aggressive play patterns and the most you can do is farm for lategame. His 2v2 is fairly good and his early skirmishes are really powerful. While you can get an early 3077.png to permapush and pressure the lane that way, trying to roam is generally not a good idea because of how good he is at matching your roams. Keeping him in lane to make sure he doesn't roam midlane and wreck havock there. If he does decide to roam, it's generally better to punish him by chipping away at his tower rather than matching his roam.

Later on in a splitpush scenario, you're pretty well off against him. If you get 3074.png you can trade with him and then heal back up to full HP. Rinse and repeat, and you got yourself full sidelane control.

VS

Maokai

Easy
KEY ITEMS: 1083.png3077.png
Maokai is one of the easier tanks to play against as Camille. Despite his above-average
laningphase, he's only going to be able to punish you hard if you play over-aggressive. Farming well and hitting your camillew.png on him should be your main priority. Very few Maokai players will be able to Bramble Smash [Q] maokaiq.png to interrupt your camillee.png so if the enemy jungler isn't nearby, you can go for some trades. Stay away from bushes to avoid any Sapling Toss [E] maokaie.png shenanigans. Get a 3077.png to pressure the lane so he can't permaroam and you'll eventually outscale him. If he shows up somewhere else on the map, go for his tower and try to take it down as fast as possible.

In the lategame, you should have a very easy time playing the sidelane. He doesn't have the damage to chunk you through the lifesteal you'll be getting from 3074.png

VS

Nasus

Easy

While Nasus isn't a very difficult matchup per-se, if you don't get a lead on him early on he will have very solid sidelane control. Playing aggressive at all times is key to dominating him in lane. Using your abilities whenever they're up and telling your jungler to spam-gank Nasus. A Nasus that's behind is very useless. Luckily, Nasus isn't a very strong champion as it is, so even if he gets ahead he'll mainly be a threat in sidelane but still be the same immobile dog in teamfights.

Unless he somehow managed to get a lead, playing sidelane against him shouldn't be too much of a problem. It's crucial do small continuous camilleq.pngcamillee.pngcamilleq.pngcamillew.png before backing out and repeating whenever off cooldown. You can even get yourself a 3140.png to cleanse his Wither [W] nasusw.png which makes all-inning him a bit easier. If he's stronger than you, just force teamfights instead.

VS

Olaf

Medium

Olaf can be quite annoying to play against. His constant barrage of Undertows [Q] olafaxethrowcast.png is very key to avoid. If you manage to dodge a lot of his olafaxethrowcast.png then this matchup isn't very tough. If you do get hit, you can always use your camillee.png to escape. If he misses his olafaxethrowcast.png and the axe is in an awkward position for him, you have a small window to punish him with a quick camillee.pngcamilleq.pngcamillew.pngcamilleq.png combo. It's also not too risky to do this whenever his Vicious Strikes [W] olaffrenziedstrikes.png is on cooldown. You're generally pretty safe from an all-in as long as you're not overextending without your camillee.png up.

If you somehow manage to get out of this laningphase without a big deficit you will be able to duel him later on in the sidelane. As long as you get your attack speed buff from camillee.png  he shouldn't be too difficult to outplay.

VS

Ornn

Medium
KEY ITEMS: 1083.png3077.png
Ornn is a tough cookie to crumble due to his high amounts of damage early on. It's going to be difficult to get a big advantage over him in the early game as he's going to win most of the trades he initiate. He can poke you with his 3 spell combo ornnq.pngornnw.pngornne.png if you're not careful. Hit him with camillew.png whenever you can and just farm up for your spikes with 1083.png3077.png. Keep him on a sidelane so he doesn't destroy your team in early skirmishes.

You'll eventually outscale hhim in a sidelane and he won't have any ways to hold you if consistently trade with him and heal up back to full thanks to 3074.png.

VS

Pantheon

Hard

Pantheon is a disgusting champion to play against, and Camille has very little she can retaliate with. Your camillew.png is a decent way to regain some of the health you're going to be losing from the constant barrage of Spear Shots [Q] pantheonq.png, but it's far from enough to survive laningphase. You can nullify his passive pantheonpassive.png by autoattack resetting and making him vulnerable against your empowered camilleq.png. If he's taking a lot of minion aggro you can camillee.png him for some harass. Generally this is all you can do. Expect to be behind in CS. He's obviously very bad lategame so your best bet is just playing safe and hoping he doesn't destroy your team with roams.

VS

Poppy

Medium

Poppy's a pretty unique matchup. She's got a good amount of poke in lane with her Hammer Shock [Q] poppyq.png but you also have a lot of tools to retaliate. It's vital to hit every camillew.png so you don't get chunked out. Since she has limited range harass, you can poke her down with empowered camilleq.png when she gets close to take a CS or something. You need to be very patient with your camillee.png as her Steadfast Presence [W] poppyw.png blocks it. Unless she's too close to a wall and won't have enough time to react, hold on to this ability. Keep in mind that you share the same base cooldown on poppyw.png and camillee.png.

Poppy is one of the best tanks in the game at holding Camille in a splitpush. Best way to approach a sidelane against her is building a big wave and killing the tower as she tries to waveclear. While you can duel her in a 1v1, she's got so many tools to escape from you there's not much of a point. So unless she heavily misplays, you're better off just killing towers.

VS

Renekton

Easy

Renekton will have a pretty strong laningphase against you. He'll slowly chunk you down and force you to back. While he has fairly low killpotential on you, you have very low kill potential on him.

Your early levels are decent against him. You should try punish his mistakes levels 1-3 as this is the only time you can really play aggressive until you get your core. Getting a small health lead early on can be enough to survive the entire laningphase and outscale him. After 6, you need to be careful about using camillee.png too aggressively. Using this will give you no outs or escapes to survive an all-in from Renekton. Only use this aggressively if you're close to your tower.

If you managed to get out of laningphase without falling too far behind, you're going to be very well off. Once you get your 3078.png and 3074.png/3748.png, you should be starting to take control of the sidelane.

VS

Riven

Medium
KEY ITEMS: 3047.png
This is a very skill dependent matchup that can snowball out of control. Riven mostly relies on all-inning you after you waste your abilities, whereas you generally want to slowly wither her down before finishing her off. She has the advantage of having a strong ultimate for dueling and her lack of a resource bar gives her more time to stay in lane. Since her ultimate is stronger for pure 1v1, your strongest levels in this matchup will be level 5, 10 and 15.
You don't have the luxury of having reliable source of sustain through camillew.png as she has many ways to dash away from this ability. If she recklessly wastes all her dashes to trade with you, you can retaliate with a camilleq.pngcamillee.pngcamilleq.pngcamillew.png combo. Don't waste your camillee.png after she hits 6 though. She can easily just 100-0 you if you're too far up without any ways to escape. Let your jungler know how easy it is to gank her, thanks to your camiller.png, and how hard you can snowball.

Riven is a strong lategame duelist as well. Due to her massive amounts of mobility, once you're in a fight, you're committed and can't really escape. It all comes down to timing your camiller.png and dodging her Ki Burst [W] rivenmartyr.png, Broken Wings [Q] riventricleave.png or Wind Slash [R]rivenfengshuiengine.png with it.

VS

Rumble

Easy

Rumble can actually bully you a lot in the early game. He doesn't have a resource, he has higher damage than you in trades, and he will continuously be able to push you in. Camille's earlygame playstyle of slowly withering down your opponent in small dabs gets countered pretty hard by his ability to Scrap Shield [W] rumbleshield.png your only form of ranged harass camillew.png and simultaneously use his Flamespitter [Q] rumbleflamethrower.png to chunk you. If you do somehow manage to get him low, he is fairly easy to all-in as long as you're healthy. Tell your jungler to gank him as he's extremely easy to punish 2v1. You can snowball really hard against him.

Rumble is not a strong splitpusher. He's easy to duel as long as you don't get poked beforehand. The longer the game goes, the stronger you'll be in a splitpush scenario. if you keep pressuring his tower he can't really leave the sidelane.

VS

Shen

Medium
KEY ITEMS: 3077.png
Shen is a pretty good pick against Camille. All of Shen's abilities are very reactive, which plays into Camille's extremely telegraphed trading patterns and engages. Your passive camillepassive.png doesn't do anything in this matchup die to Shen's mixed damage and your low early game melee damage is no match for his. Your best bet early on is to keep your distance and use camillew.png on him after he's traded with you. I generally wouldn't recommend using this as harassment in the early game as its your only way of sustaining (and thereby neutralizing the trade). You don't really need to win lane against Shen as you'll be able to pressure him a lot better later on due to scaling which is why saving your camillew.png for sustain is more important than harassing him.

This concept applies to your camilleq.png as well. You rarely want to initiate a trade early on against Shen because of his high numbers and close combat damage. If he manages to Shadow Dash [E] shene.png you so that you can't recast your camilleq.png, you'll miss out on a lot of damage. He can also use shene.png for both your camillew.png and your camillee.png which is why Shen can punish Camille's telegraphed play patterns so well. He will also be able to use Spirit's Refuge [W] shenw.png to block your camilleq.png and Stand United [R] shenr.png on whoever you decide to camiller.png in teamfights. Getting an early 3077.png will give you a decent ability to pressure the lane and will make it harder for Shen to pressure the map.

Despite all this, he's not very threatening come lategame. His cooldowns are long and his chasing potential is poor which gives him no kill potential in a duel against you. If he managed to get a lead off of map plays in the early-to-midgame then he will be powerful, but as long as you don't give him anything to chew on he'll eventually starve. By that, I mean that you outscale him. Eventually.

VS

Singed

Easy

KEY ITEMS: 1083.png

Arguably the most boring champion in the game to play against. He's going to afk push until the cows go home and there's not much you can do about it. He's honestly not much of a threat unless you try to duel him. Buy a 1083.png and lasthit under tower. Your primary goal is to farm up and get your items as quickly as possible. His base numbers are too high for you to deal with early on. Keep river warded so his pathing is visible. Once you get your 3078.png and 3074.png/3748.png core, he'll stand no chance in a sidelane duel. Singed is also one of the few tanks that happen to be a good camiller.png target in teamfights to limit his mobility.

VS

Sion

Easy

Sion is quite strong in lane. However, his trading patterns aren't too big of an issue for you. His Decimating Smash [Q] sionq.png is extremely telegraphed and your camillee.png can easily be used to either dodge this ability or interrupt it. He's always going to be in range for your camillew.png which makes for easy sustain. Your camillew.png is also a great way to chunk his Soul Furnace [W] sionw.png so saving camillew.png for it isn't such a bad idea. Keep in mind that Sion loves roaming thanks to his Unstoppable Onslaught [R] sionr.png. If you get an early 3077.png you can make it harder for him to find openings to roam.

While laningphase won't always be easy against him, his mid-lategame dueling is abysmal. Pressure him and force him on a sidelane so he can't pressure your team.

VS

Trundle

Easy

Trundle is a pretty strong duelist early on. He has good numbers and very good sustain in lane. But unless you somehow get a really bad trade on him, he pretty much has no way of killing you. Using your camillew.png as often as you can and using your empowered camilleq.png to chunk him down is a pretty good way to approach the lane. Its generally best to save your camillee.png in this matchup since he can get some good damage off on you if you get caught by a well-placed Pillar of Ice [E] trundlecircle.png

Like most matchups, you will outscale him quite hard. He is by no means a bad duelist later on, but after a couple of items you should start winning the sidelane. Either way it doesn't matter too much as his teamfighting isn't that strong in the first place anyway. If you see an opening, making plays with your team is always an option.

VS

Tryndamere

Medium
KEY ITEMS: 3047.png3078.png
Tryndamere is pretty interesting. He has insanely good dueling power and a pretty good laningphase. He scales like a monster in the sidelane and is a champion that can completely take over a game if he gets the time to do so. On the flipside, if he somehow gets behind early on, he'll pretty much be useless for most of the game. And his teamfighting is awful no matter how ahead or behind he is.

Tryndamere can't play defensively. His only strength is his aggression, which gives some of your abilities a lot of value. If he brainlessly uses Spinning Slash [E] tryndameree.png on to you in lane, you can hit him with a couple of camilleq.png and autoattacks, with a camillee.pngcamillew.png to close out the trade. He cant pursue due to the slow from camillew.png and will at least neutralize the trade. Keep in mind this will eat your manabar if this trade is repeated multiple times and wont be valuable if he manages to sustain it back up with Bloodlust [Q] tryndamereq.png. If he does opt to play aggressively, you need to punish his every mistake or he'll just eventually outsustain you. Poke him down with empowered camilleq.png whenever you can and save your camillee.png for his aggressive plays. His undyingrage.png is a lot stronger than yours in duels so be careful after he hits level 6. Its a good idea to tell your jungler to gank him so you get him behind. Your camiller.png is fantastic at securing kills and setting up ganks.

VS

Urgot

Easy
KET ITEMS: 3078.png3047.png
Despite being a ranged bully machine, he's not really that threatening to you. Your kit works really well against him and will nearly neutralize the earlygame, as long as you don't take too much free damage. He will always be in range of your camillew.png which gives you a lot of the sustain you need against his poke. If he gets too close to you, your camillew.png slow will enable you to get a couple of quick camilleq.png trades off as well. Your passive camillepassive.png stops Urgot from getting a good trade on you. Keep in mind that your cooldowns are fairly high so be careful while they're down.

He's not a big sidelane threat as long as you're not too far behind in gold. Play aggressive and don't let him kite you in duels.

VS

Yasuo

Easy

KEY ITEMS: 3047.png3078.png

Yasuo has a very strong early game against you, but as long as you don't play over aggressive, you'll be able to completely destroy him in a sidelane later on. Don't let him get a big advantage over you in lane. If he hits you, hit back. Using camillew.png and camillee.png in lane can be difficult against him due to his great mobility. Let him push you in so he's less of a threat. He's a champion that's very wave control dependent and freezing the lane will give him less options to play aggressively. It's extremely key to use camiller.png to avoid his empowered Steel Tempest [Q] yasuoqw.png as getting hit by the tornado is the only real way he's ever going to get close to outdueling you later on. Yasuo is also an extremely good camiller.png target in teamfights.

Tips and Tricks Back to Top

Earlygame:
  • Camille is not strong nor weak in the earlygame. You take time to ramp up. While you don't hardcounter anyone in lane, you have the tools to survive most matchups and outscale them.
  • Refrain from using your camillee.png in lane unless: you know where the enemy jungler is, you're safetly near your tower or if you can get a very good trade in.
  • A solid combo in lane is: camilleq.png a minion (use it on the opponent if he's in range), camillee.png towards your opponent, stun him and use a quick auto+camilleq.png, and then retreat with a camillew.png so he can't hit you back.
Teamfighting:
  • In teamfights, you don't always want to be using camiller.png against the enemy carry. Sometimes it's better to use it on their diver (ex 39.png27.png) to protect your carries.
  • Use your 4.png during the camillee.png recast animation to extend the range of it. This trick is extremely vital and powerful so practice it in sandbox mode.
  • Camille is extremely good at punishing poor positioning, especially through fog of war. Buy pinks and try to keep track of where the enemy team has vision so you can plan out your flanks.
Dueling:
  • You can use your camillew.png to kite other melee champions while waiting for other cooldowns.
  • Practice your camilleq.png timing in either normal games or in sandbox mode before going into ranked as it's going going to be your main source of damage both in the early game and in the lategame.
  • Don't use your camillew.png in melee to melee fights while your camilleq.png is up as it will decrease your overall damage output.
