Why always bring 7.png?

  1. Healing yourself / others for clutch saves and turnarounds
  2. Movement speed to dodge and engage
  3. Both viable for offensive and defensive situations

Why not bring 21.png?

Barrier sounds like a good alternative against people who can cut self healing such as 110.png55.png or 14.png and provide better protection against 238.png or 7.png. From personal however I find that the added utility from the movement speed and the ability to start clutch reversals with it by healing your teammates is much more valuable, the versatility of the movement speed for offense and defense just pushes heal to be much greater than barrier.

Example:

42.png engages on 202.png in a teamfight going all in

202.png burns 7.png and gets into a comfortable range to kite 42.png with the bonus movement speed

42.png, unable to ensure the kill is now forced to burn flash to escape as he was unable to secure the kill.

Fine Tuned to Vaporize Carries


Thunderlord's Decree!

For sure the best summoner spell on Corki, this gives him alot of power to snipe carries and trade. Thunderlord's Decree  is extremely easy to activate on enemy champions from Corki as he has many rapidly ticking damage over time abilities including carpetbomb.pngggun.png. Suprisingly you can even snipe people at long range with massive unexpected burst combining the third hit of Thunderlord's Decree and the Big One from his ultimate missilebarrage.png

Bounty Hunter???

Bounty Hunter is a great mastery for Corki thanks in due to his passive corkipassive.png The Package. Thanks to the Package and Thunderlords Decree, You will be able to influence all lanes early on and utilize the power of Bounty Hunter. With this, Corki will regularly gain a minimum of 3% increased damage to the full 5% increased damage naturally throughout the game rather than it being a struggle if you were to use it on other carries.

The 50/50 Mix

Strangely enough, all of Corki's basic attacks are split exactly down the line in doing 50% physical damage and 50% magic damage. Now this is going to sound strange but yes, the following scales into it regardless of it being split into magic damage!

Making That Package Count

Corki's Package comes up after the first 8 minutes. Don't pickup the package right away. The best way to utilize it to support your team is to save it for key moments. There are three major ways I prefer to use the package.

  1. Punishing immobile champions such as 202.png22.png111.png75.png
  2. Baron and Dragon Control
  3. Teamfight counter engage
Remember, the trick to using your package is to use it preemptively when fights are going to occur to punish your opponent and gain leads.

Example 1:

111.png top pushes against your own top lane against your 106.png top
As he gets close to your turret, 42.png  grabs the package and begins to head top immediately top and pings
halfway there, 106.png engages on nautilus ahead of time and begins to tank a losing fight as 111.png burns all his abilities to trade.

42.png comes in with The Package on 111.png and shreds him down securing your team the kill with no casualties.


Example 2:

Timing the pickup of your package early on with objectives is a fantastic way for you to secure dragons easily. I can guarantee you that  the enemy will think twice on stopping you from doing early dragons for free as the power and area of control you bring to it will be monumental.

phosphorusbomb.png Q: Phosphorus Bomb

Trading with the Phosphorus Bomb is simple, you want to use it in tandem with your basic attacks to burst with Thunderlord's Decree or it can be used easily to clear entire waves when used with your ggun.png or missilebarrage.png.

carpetbomb.png W: Valkyrie

Try not to use this ability on a whim as it costs a massive 100 mana. This is where your skill in using your other abilities to trade quickly and decisively come into play. Using your Valkyrie recklessly will quickly both burn your mana and leave you in a defensive stance in lane.


Combing with the Package

When Corki picks up the package from his corkipassive.png, his carpetbomb.png is replaced with a upgraded version which jumps to the tip of an orange highlighted circle around him where the player CANNOT STOP ONCE USED. If the player jumps with it, he is committing to it.

The trick however is that your Valkyrie does not go on cooldown when using the package! You can use this in great ways when you need to jump into an entire team by making sure the landing point is in conjunction with a wall you can immediately carpetbomb.png over upon landing.

Valkyrie Does Serious Damage


   We're talking OVER 500 DAMAGE PER SECOND LATE GAME


As you become for one with 42.png and know his numbers, you will begin to know immediately if you will win a fight even early on when both you and the enemy are at 100% hp. When you're facing immobile champions such as 202.png or 21.png you can surprise opponents by trading followed up by using your carpetbomb.png on them. This ability alone in tandem with your ggun.png will burn your opponent for hundreds of damage alone making fights won from the very beginning.

ggun.png E: Gatling Gun

AKA, the Commitment Cannon in my books, Why?

The Commitment In lane, you want to use this ability to threaten committing to a fight for a kill in combination with your abilities. When activating Corki's ggun.png, you're intent should be to kill.

phosphorusbomb.png -> Basic Attack -> ggun.png -> Commit to Fighting

Punish the Commitment When an enemy commits, use your ggun.png to punish enemies as they will be forced to fight in your heavy flat armor and magic resist shred. This ability alone will progressively turn the fight heavily in your teams favor as time passes should the enemy choose to commit.

missilebarrage.png R: Missile Barrage

Prime It! When you're using Corki's Rocket and preparing for dives / team fights. Fire off rockets early if you have spares to get the Big One making you deal an extra 50% on your rocket for some serious burst. 

When leaving base with his Missile Barrage, shoot out rockets until you have the Big One to bring as your next shot allowing you to come to lane with some free extra damage.

The Bush Checker 2000: Your missile Barrage is also a fantastic way to check bushes, since they only cost 20 mana each they make a great and effective way to scout for your team while staying relatively safe.

The 4th Buy:

After your starting items 3078.png3020.png3031.png , every item built after is situational. The 4th buy in particular however is the most important as this will decide who you are able to particularly tank head on and who you will be able to snipe instantly. 

IF YOU DID NOT BUY AN AD INCREASING ITEM AS THE 4TH ITEM, THE 5TH BUY MUST BE AN AD ITEM 

Corki is a champion very reliant on using your knowledge and analysis to stay ahead of the game. While your 4th buy is a flexible pick to decide how you want to be leading the battle, in order to maintain optimal damage at every stage of the game, you must build either a 3072.png or a 3508.png

Sits back like any Caitlyn, dont get hit by the usual, trade smart and you'll take her out no problem. 


Try to carry the package to gain dragons early on and rushing the Caitlyn with it to regularly burn her 4.png and 7.png to make her vulnerable.

VS

Ezreal

Medium

Use the minions to dodge the mystic shots and try to sneak in close for a ggun.png engage. If he fails to trade with his mystic shot you will be able to get a full engage on him with your carpetbomb.png.

VS

Jhin

Medium

Do not engage the Jhin when he has 2 bullets left in his magazine. His vulnerable moments are during the 3-4 ammo count.


Following this, you can control him quite easily with raw damage alone by both trading with your abilities during prime time and burning him with your carpetbomb.png for all in engages. 

To ultimately control the Jhin, you want to save the package for whenever his 4.png is up and he is even remotely out of safety. Burn into him hard with it and make sure you aim it to push him into your team. If done right you'll bully the Jhin into another dimmension.

VS

Jinx

Hard

Jinx does just as much damage as you and can hold her own in a DPS fight against you. In lane she will most likely push hard and wither you down with the range of her rockets.


Play it smart and let your Jungle and Support help you and make the calls that will take her out.

Kalista

Hard

Play smart and be patient with your phosphorusbomb.png, the trick to hitting it is to fire it at the landing spot of her basic attack jumps the moment she begins it. 


When it comes to engaging the Kalista, you want to use your ggun.png immediately and take the Kalista head on. This will push you just over the edge to out trading her kalistaE.png

Easy

VS

Nocturne

Hard

Be very weary of his ultimate. Your carpetbomb.png will not be enough to escape his snare and his entire kit makes him glue to you. If his ultimate is up stick close to your team or make sure you can carpetbomb.png him into your team as he flies towards you.

Sivir

Easy

You do a lot more burst damage than her, try to bait out her spell shield spellshield.png if you can. Besides that however, at all stages of the game you will be able to snipe her

Tristana

Hard

Tristana is a very tough matchup as she has a kit very similar to yours and will out trade you in lasted engages due to the burst from her detonatingshot.png and bustershot.png.


In a matchup like this you have to play defensive and leave it up to your support to make the smart play. If you're drafting to to bring a 53.png along.


VS

Vayne

Medium

Besides her vaynecondemn.png there really isn't much to be worrying about. Be a bit cautious during the lategame due to her stealth from her vayneinquisition.png. You're better at combusting her however the break from the stealth can get you good if you're sloppy.

Zed

Easy

Use your carpetbomb.png to dodge his abilities after the ultimate and buy a 3140.png and hey'll be pretty useless against you

Pros:

  • Heavy burst
  • Super flashy carry! (seriously, try the firecracker skin its A W E S O M E)
  • Fun variety with the package
  • Does alot of AP damage
  • Versitile in item choices
  • Works great to balance AD heavy teams
  • Nonstop explosive shooting action!
  • BASICALLY AN AC130 GUNSHIP BUT IN LEAGUE OF LEGENDS.

  • escape ability is a fairly slow maneuver ability, hard to use for clutch scenarios during team fights
  • Item build is stacked with expensive items

Early Game Back to Top

Beware the Level 2 Cheese

Focus on being smart with your trades. If the enemy plays overly agressive at the start and pushes for a level 2 cheese, sit at the tower and farm to equalize.

Once Stabilized

Once you've stabilized, mainly utilize the three combos in lane to gain a lead.

Basic Attack ---> phosphorusbomb.png ---> Basic Attack 

phosphorusbomb.png ---> Basic Attack ---> ggun.png

Whenever you feel as if the enemy is going to commit to a fight, use your ggun.png right away as its flat armor and magic resist shred will give you the edge as the fight continues on.

Level 6

Once you reach level 6, give your ultimate a few seconds to stack up some rockets and then BE SUPER AGRESSIVE WITH YOUR TRADES. Now you can trade as you can combo your rockets into your abilities for long range poke.

Be Aggressive With The Package

Using Corki's strong mid game, use the package from his passive corkipassive.png and start contesting for easy dragons and towers. Grouping and aggressively gaining objectives is extremely important as Corki does not scale as well into the late game. 


The 4th Buy

When it comes to your 4th buy, the trick here is to identify the most dangerous person on the team and to build this item in direct response to them. 

Example:

7.png  Leblanc, bring an 3001.png to both tank and deal heavy return damage to her or a 3072.png to return damage and sustain.

67.png Vayne, bring a heavy damage item such as 3508.png , 3087.png , 3072.png to threaten her with serious burst damage.

Your Package Can Decide The ENTIRE GAME.

At this stage of the game and having 5-6 items, you need to be very keen on using the package. Preferably try to force a baron play with your team and use the package to damage them. Remember, at this time your package will be hitting for 500+ magic damage per second. Using this ability to follow up a good engage by your team can decimate enemies in a flash. 


What to Watchout For:

Shredding down tanks will be time consuming so be sure to not be caught by ones such as 33.png39.png245.png122.png.
Due to the nature of their kit and yours, kiting them will most likely not be an option however you can also shatter their frontline by using The Package but THIS IS NOT THE BEST WAY TO USE IT.


Damage Trading:

At this stage in the game, you will have the ability to completely burst carries to nothing however, they will also have the same ability so be careful in your decisions when trading. Its best to batter them down with your strong and easy poke before committing.

89.png Leona- Leona is by far the #1 support for Corki because of their massive damage synergy.This is because Leona not only is able to hold down enemies for not just Corki's burst damage, but also for his carpetbomb.png Valkyrie, Package and ggun.png Minigun to take heavy effect. But also because Corki's ggun.png deals damage in rapid small numbers which will instantly activate 89.png Leona's leonapassive.png the moment it lands on enemy targets.

26.png Zilean - He's got damage, he's got a stun, what makes him #2 in my books for 42.png is that he can preemptively use his chronoshift.png Ultimate on 42.png when he has his corkipassive.png Package allowing him to bring in the insane amount of damage straight into the enemy team with zero consequence as your team will follow up and is practically guaranteed to get kills.

53.png Blitzcrank - He's got damage, he's got a hardcore initiate, and in the time he finishes his punch and burst in tandem with your burst. The enemy is dead! But wait... there's something really fun you can do with him late game! If you decide to go full YOLO and use corkipassive.png The Package into the enemy team. Blitz can grab someone from the knock back into the flames, perform his usual combo and that person is guaranteed to melt into nothingness.
