When should I take Barrier? 21.png


A: Flash+Barrier is something that we've seen being used very frequently by the pro players lately. They put this strategy to use, in order to give the ADC more tools to keep himself alive (It is more used for hyper carries eg. Kog'Maw, Jinx, Xayah, Tristana). Your support must have Heal for you to take Barrier and to take the most out of it in teamfights or trading hits in the botlane.

What about Cleanse?


A: Usually people use Cleanse when they play against supports with a  lot of cc (e.g. 89.png). In most cases, your partner will also take heal. Personally, I'm not a fan of this summoner, but the truth is that, it is very useful and can decide teamfights but your timing on using it must be on point.

Those are the runes/masteries I'm using, I found them to be pretty good so far. Since they were recently implemented, it still needs a lot of testing, and there might be better ways to build it.

Why Precision as main path?

  1. Going this path allows 42.png do deal more damage overall. At first, I was going with Domination, but after some testing, I found out Precision could benefit you much more.

  2. Fleet%20Footwork.png?width=64 I was in doubt, between Press%20the%20Attack.png?width=32 and Fleet%20Footwork.png?width=32, but I decided to go for Fleet%20Footwork.png?width=32. With the latest patch, this rune became very strong on 42.png. Your lane phase is not easy and you are very susceptible to poke, but with Fleetfootwork, you'll be able to handle it better and farm more effectively. It gives you some sustain in lane and also the extra 20% bonus movement speed after a hit allows you to poke your enemy and win trades more effectively. Lethal%20Tempo.png?width=32 wasn't considered at all, since 42.png is more of a caster, he won't benefit that much from the extra attack speed as he will benefit from Press%20the%20Attack.png?width=32 and Fleet%20Footwork.png?width=32

  3.  Overheal.png?width=64 has been the choice of the pros since the nerf on Triumph.png?width=32 earlier on patch 7.24. The combination between Overheal.png?width=32 and Fleet%20Footwork.png?width=32 makes laning phase much easier, allowing you to farm safely. As for Presence%20of%20Mind.png?width=32, I know 42.png spends a lot of mana, but I don't think that reducing your ultimate's cooldown is necessary.

Legend%20Alacrity.png?width=64 will just benefit you much more than the other 2, as it'll give you just the extra attack speed you need. Legend%20Tenacity.png?width=32 gives you extra tenacity, won't be really useful for you, and Legend%20Bloodline.png?width=32 will give you extra lifesteal, this one could be used, but I just see so much more advantage coming from Legend%20Alacrity.png?width=32.

  5. Coup%20De%20Grace.png?width=64 works so well to finish off your wounded enemies. The other options are not bad either, Cut%20Down.png?width=32 can be extremely good when you're up against a really tanky team, dealing 4-12% at 150-2000 max health difference and Last%20Stand.png?width=32 can work as a surprise factor against your enemy. But overall, I believe Coup%20De%20Grace.png?width=32 and Cut%20Down.png?width=32 are the best choices.

Why Sorcery as secondary path?

  1.  Well, after analyzing all the possible secondary paths, I found out that Sorcery is the one that'll give you the most (this is based on my playstyle).

  2. Manaflow%20Band.png?width=64 was my choice. As 42.png is a little bit mana hungry, this rune will allow to gain 25 maximum mana when you hit an enemy with an ability, upon getting 250 maximum mana, Mana Flow restores 1% of your missing mana every 5s. This will definitely save you some mana and also some more mana sustain. Nullifying%20Orb.png?width=32 can be beneficial too against heavy AP damage champions, might be kinda useful against 96.pngThe%20Ultimate%20Hat.png?width=32 won't benefit you much, your ultimate cooldown is quite low already and the CDR it'll give you, I believe you won't even feel it. Transcendence.png?width=32 isn't bad at all, 42.png has some long cooldowns and this extra 10% can be very advantageous, but, you won't take everything you can from this mastery, since you probably won't exceed the 40% CDR. Celerity.png?width=32 will give you only 5 AD when you buy boots, overall, it won't do much for you.  Celerity.png?width=32 gives you some extra damage, but nothing out of the ordinary. In conclusion, I really feel like Manaflow%20Band.png?width=32 is the one that gives you the most!

  3. Scorch.png?width=64 seems very good, since after 6, you'll use a lot missilebarrage.png for poke and this will give you some extra damage. Gathering%20Storm.png?width=32 isn't out of the cards, late game, this one is the best, if you feel like your game will be long, take this one. Waterwalking.png?width=32 wasn't considered at all, as I feel it benefits more the junglers.

  • This passive is really amazing, and now with preseason, might be even better! Now, at least on botlane, nobody has as much magic resist as before, that due to the new runes. This can benefit 42.png, allowing him to deal a little bit more damage than before on botlane. 

  • The Package, it becomes available at 8:00 and it can be very useful for you to get back in lane and kill someone or even to roam quickly to midlane and get your team ahead!

  • phosphorusbomb.png is 42.png's main damage, at least before 6. Use it to trade with your opponent in lane if you can hit > Q > hit, it'll trigger Electrocute.png?width=32 and you might win the trade.

  • carpetbomb.png allows you to escape from your enemies or to chase them and get the kill. When you have corkipassive.png, use carpetbomb.png to zone your enemies, it'll deal an extreme amount of damage and it'll also apply a painful slow that will win you the teamfights if you can position it well. Also, carpetbomb.png becomes available again if you used with corkipassive.png

  • Most people you'll play against will underestimate this ability, especially in lane. ggun.png will boost your damage so much by reducing their armor and magic resist, your support will also deal more damage because of that. Long trades might be to your advantage if ggun.png is on.

  • When you unlock this ability, it'll be your main source of damage. That due to your build path. Since we go for 3057.png first, spamming this ability will allow you to take out the most out of this item. Use missilebarrage.png to poke your enemy before engaging on them.

Starting Items

    Generally, Corki is not very strong in lane, depending of course on who you play against, and on your support also, but in general he's a weak laner pre 6. If playing against Caitlyn definitely go for Doran's shield.
    If you can get this on your first back, you're on a good path already and trading blows will be much easier.

Core Items

    This is the one item that is a MUST on Corki, always rush it!
    Second item really depends on your preference and on the game itself. Usually if I'm far ahead I go straight for Infinity Edge, if not I build Shiv or Canon.
    Your final build should look similar to this.

Situational Items

    Get QSS if they have heavy CC.
    If they rely mostly on magic damage, this can be the perfect 3rd item.

When do I take 1054.png?

A: I stated above that 42.png isn't particularly a strong laner pre 6. Your goal should be to farm and no die before 6. If you can keep up on the farm and return with a 3057.png to lane, I believe you'll start winning trades and outscaliing the other carry. If you play with aggressive supports, I would prefer to go with 1055.png and try an early kill, but 42.png is not as good as other champions on that.

I'm ahead, what now?

A: If you're ahead of your enemies, I would definitely get 3078.png  first (that should always happen even if behind) and instantly rush 3031.png. Your damage output will be so much that your enemies will disappear in a blink of an eye. If you're not doing so good, just go for 3094.png or 3087.png, that way you'll not get too behind since they're kinda cheap, allowing you to keep up the damage.

Why 3020.png and not 3006.png?

A: 42.png is a caster carry and also due to his passive, most of his damage is magic. Buying 3020.png will increase your damage output more than 3006.png.

This isn't an usual support anymore, but if you find one, just try to push the lane early on and get ahead on levels. Beware whenever she has the stun ready. And at level 6, respect her damage even if you're ahead, she can destroy you easily. Keep your finger on 4.png, if you're fast enough, you can avoid her infernalguardian.png  and she won't be as much of a threat anymore.

You should be fine against her, try to farm, if your support is aggressive try to go for a kill early on. Don't trade for too long, she'll outdamage you pre 6. With the new runes, she's a real threat, Cheap%20Shot.png?width=32 boosts her damage so much, be careful trading early. In genreal, you should be fine farming. If they have a poke support also, take 1054.png.

Bard

Medium

He might be quite hard, his damage early on his an absurd and you'll probably get poked here. Don't underestimate him, if your lane can't outdamage theirs, go for 1054.png.

Blitzcrank

Medium

Well, this champion will always be a pain, if you can dodge his rocketgrab.png he's harmless, if he runs to you without rocketgrab.png just use carpetbomb.png. If you're pushing, don't overdo it hitting the turret, he can grab you and get you under his turret.

Medium

I find it quite hard to dodge his brandw.png early on without boots, if you hit level 2 first you can go all in on him. Supports like 89.png can destroy him early on. If you have a passive lane, and you know that you'll play under your turret, go for 1054.png.

Easy

Dangerous champion, but if you can keep a distance from him, you'll be fine. Stay behind your cs to avoid his braumq.png. Beware of his minions position as he can jump to them using braumw.png.

Caitlyn

Hard

She's very difficult to play against in lane, she'll poke you every time you try to hit a minion. The key is keeping up the farm and not dying early on. If you reach 6 and have 3057.png, you'll outscale her. Just a very hard lane phase.

Draven

Hard

He outdamages you, don't even try to trade with him, you just can't. Your support can try to poke and you can try to land a phosphorusbomb.png, but no auto attack, otherwise he'll do more damage. Take 1054.png to help your sustain and to keep up the farm.

Ezreal

Medium

Boring to play against, with the new runes he's a pain. Try to stay behind your minions to avoid his ezrealmysticshot.png, every time he fails it, you can try to hit him, but beware, he has low cooldowns.

Medium

Annoying champion, his fiddlesticksdarkwind.png early game is a pain. You probably won't have enough damage to finish him off early, unless your support plays very aggressive and plays with 14.png. Make sure you buy 3140.png.

Janna

Easy
Janna is one of the best supports in this game. Trick is to avoid any trades whenever she shields her ADC. If she wastes shield don't be afraid and damage them. They'll lack sustain and you'll be likely to win those trades, and consequently the lane. If you have an aggressive support go for a level 2 kill on her.

Jhin

Medium

He has a lot of damage, but his weakness is, whenever he reloads, you can try to go on him and deal the most damage you can. If you can lane safely till 6 you'll outscale him.

Jinx

Easy

She's annoying with jinxq.png, but you should be able to farm. Be careful with her jinxe.png. If playing with an aggressive support, you can try to go all in on her.

Kalista

Hard

Very hard to play against, she'll try to kill you early on and she outdamages you. Don't try long trades, you'll lose all of them. Play safe, farm and try something after 6.

Karma

Medium

She has a lot of poke, try playing behind your minions and be careful with your position, she can engage on you with her ggun.png and your carpetbomb.png doesn't have enough range to get away from it, it'll help though. Just don't underestimate her and farm.

Don't try long trades with him, he'll do more damage than you. Your best shot is trying to burst him. He struggles against very aggressive supports! 89.png is very good against him, she allows you to hit your phosphorusbomb.png and lock him up enough time for him to die.

89.png is a chain CC champion, try to dodge her leonazenithblade.png and you should be fine pre 6. Punish her whenever she misses leonazenithblade.png. After 6, be careful with her leonasolarflare.png, it has extremely long range.

Annoying champion, she deals a lot of damage and her namiw.png. Your ability to dodge her namiq.png will decide your trades! She's very squishy and an easy target if your support is aggressive.

Whenever he uses rakanw.png, you can use yours too and you'll be fine. Later on, you might want to get a 3140.png.

She can push your lane very hard and make you stay under your turret, but she won't be much of a threat.

A lot of damage, good sustain, this champion is a pain in the ass. Hard to win trades against her. I recommend going with 1054.png

Whenever you him coming with tarice.png, try to dodge even if you have to use carpetbomb.png. If you can do that, you'll be able to farm without a problem.

Getting hit by threshq.png is almost a death sentence. Try to play behind your minions, don't be afraid to lose a minion or 2 if that'll keep you in position.

She can be very hard to play against, if she jumps on you with tristanae.png on you, you'll have a hard time. Don't underestimate her, whenever you see her trying to tristanaw.png, you  have enough time to use your carpetbomb.png. If she fails tristanaw.png you can turn on her.

Don't let him stack his venom on you, it deals a lot of damage. I don't like trading with him. When you get 3057.png try to burst him with your support.

  • 40.png is one of the best support in this game, she has excellent protection skills and she's always welcome on a team. You're a kind of hyper carry, 40.png will keep you alive on those hard teamfights. Your lane phase can be quite hard though. Go for 1054.png, and as long as you're able to farm, you should outscale most of your opponents.

  • 25.png is definitely one of my favorites, she's aggressive and passive at the same time. She adds a lot of kill threat to your lane with her darkbindingmissile.png, and she can also keep you safe with blackshield.png.

Don't forget that, at the end of the day, your enemies combo will also matter a lot and what I called  'God Tier' can get completely outplayed by them. 

e.g. It'll be very hard for you to play with a 37.png against a 53.png. In this case, 25.png would be a much better choice. Tiers can be deceiving! Always try to adapt based on your opponents.

Pro Mindset

The most successful players all have one thing in common, either they win or lose, they always think "what could have I done better?". This is the key for you to become closer to the greatest players, it's not about how many games you play in a day, it's about what you learn from each of them.

Tiltproof

The easiest thing to do when you are losing a game is to blame your team, even if you're right, that won't give any help on winning the game. If you really want to get into the next level, try to keep cool and boost our teammates morale.

Winning Attitude

Everyone is fed in the other team, your team is far behind and the easiest thing to do here is surrender. You might argue that it'll save you a lot of time and playing would be a waste. Yes, you're right, but some of those games you'll actually win, and you'll learn much more from hard games than from easy games that finish at 15min. Just keep focus and don't stop believing. Everyone throws, even the pros.

Think about this:

If you're one of those players stuck in Silver, you feel like you deserve much more, but you are just unlucky and can't climb, it feels like a curse that Riot put on you. I will tell you straight away there's no such thing, and yes, sometimes we can be very unlucky, but it doesn't last. If you're stuck there, you might've been doing something wrong, the proof is that people boost accounts and they know exactly what to do in order to carry a game and climb quickly. If you find yourself in that situation, I suggest watching some of your own replays, maybe your mechanics are good but it only takes a few mistakes for you to not be able to carry your team. Start thinking, what could have you done better? The other team is silver too, if you're much better you should be able to outplay them in every way possible.

What is being "In The Zone"?

  • It's a state of mind where you become extremely focused and hyper productive!

  • Being in the zone is being completely immersed in what you're doing. Losing the sense of time is very common while in this state of mind.

  • You'll be able to predict your opponents movements and see them almost like in slow motion!

    How to enter "The Zone".

  • Think about what you're doing and your role.

  • Get rid of distractions. (Close the door if open. Being on a conversation will most likely stop you from entering this state as you'll get distracted easily).

  • You need a deep understanding on what you're doing. (Once again, know your role and your opponent as well).
  • Create a balance between challenge and skill. Big challenges require huge skill. Taking a step bigger than your leg will only get you demotivated. (Yes, this one is for boosted accounts.)

  • Be patient, it might take some time to achieve and master this state of mind.

  • Now that you know about it, you just made it easier.
