Summoner Spells Back to Top

The standard ADC summoner spells are that for a reason they work pretty well. Flash gives you an escape and heal can help turn a fight in your favor or save you.

New Runes Back to Top

Masteries Back to Top

Fervor works well on adcs, then you want armor pen and damage pretty much.

dravenpassive.png This makes you into one of the most volatile and potentially explosive adcs. One kill after a good amount of farming can be worth 2 kills or more of gold. So like all adcs do your best to get kills but it matters more for you. Your support stealing a kill always sucks but for draven it really sets you back. You also lose half your stacks if you die. So don't die. That's more important even than getting kills. Ideally you have a good peeling or defensive support to help with that.

dravenspinning.png This is 99% of Draven's damage. If you want to play Draven you have to learn to catch these and juggle two at a time. It's a little minigame no one else has but it basically doubles your damage output so you definitely can't ignore it. This also gives you one of the highest damage level 1's among all adcs so if you have a support whose strong at level 1 (Braum, a good alistar pulverize etc) You can do an all in at level 1. Be careful though and don't dive. Where your Q lands is guided by where you're running so you can guide it to where you want it to land so it's not random. Catching axes also gives you stacks of your passive in addition to last hitting. Make sure to do it. Also it does more damage than you're used to so use the axes to last hit or hit full health minions. If you are really good you can juggle 3 at a time (by having 1 constantly in the air) this is for people who are better draven players than i am and want to solo baron or some nonsense but it's fun to try. Max Q first and constantly have it up. Do not die for an axe though not worth.

dravenfury.png This is a nice boost to attack speed and movement speed. It's like a mini ghostblade active. Max it second as you get more attack speed and more movement speed. Use it in fights, hitting tower, whenever. It also resets when you catch an axe which is good if you have a lot of mana you can spam it in teamfights.

dravendoubleshot.png This is nice as a knockup, and a slow, and it does pretty decent damage. Max it last though as its mostly good for the disruption. It will stop channels which is great to have against certain people.

dravenrcast.png This is great. It's global, it does a ton of damage. It will turn around and come back to you when it hits an enemy champ but you can reactivate it early to send it back. If you hit someone low and don't kill them reactivate it to get it back a little early so they don't have the chance to dodge. Use this to pick off kills in other lanes, steal drags or barons, clear side lanes if you need it. Lots of uses. It works just as well at close range too so that's nice.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

    Standard start.
If you are really confident in lane you can go this. I usually get this first back depending on the amount of gold I back with. It's really a great item but you lose the health of dorans so you can't fight as well. But the stats are good and the gold is great!

Core Items

You basically already have crit from your q so you can start this for amazing sustain.
This is good for core crit. I edge is amazing damage and rapid fire gives you long range q's so it's better than any of the other options for draven.
I prefer swifties on Draven as you can then chase people down better or escape easier. Definitely works well. Attack speed boots are also good but they cost more, and I don't think it's worth it for the attack speed.
This is good for the damage, lifesteal, and most importantly as a counter to hard cc

Situational Items

Great against ap damage, plus it's armor pen.
Really good against burst. Later item though not early.
This works well as a last item for defensive stats and you will come back after the enemy focuses you down in a fight.

For Draven attack speed isn't as important as most adcs as your q doesn't scale with it, it's still in the air for just as long which is most of your damage. It's helpful but ad is better.

Synergy Back to Top

I think Draven works best with defensive supports. Braum is a good mix as he's got defensive but a great level 1 for fighting. But soraka will keep you alive to build up stacks, Janna is good for more ad and peel. Sona is good too. Those kind of supports that can keep you alive. But he can work with pretty much any support, just you have to self peel and stay safer if they can't help you.

Tips and Tricks Back to Top

With Draven build up stacks in the early game. Farm, catch axes thats your job. Go for a kill only when your jungler ganks or your support lands a good initiate. Play safe and don't die. If you fall behind you're basically worthless. If you get a little ahead the game can be over right there. You get a few kills and then use that lead to gain more towers objectives and kills. Teamfights are good for draven but hard to keep your axes going all the time. It takes some practice to keep catching them while dishing out damage.
