Summoner Spells Back to Top

You're best and really only choice for mid Ekko. Flash will enable you to not only escape, but it will also serve as a way to surprise your enemy with the return of your ekkoQ.png if timed correctly. Enabling you easily get your 3 hit proc, chunking your opponent.

Ignite is simply for the extra killing power, you are after all an assassin with this build.

Going down cunning is a must, your choice between the utility of Stormraider's Surge and the pure killing power of Thunderlords.

Take note that thatekkoE.png counts as 2 hits towards thunderlords, so landing E and then hitting with Q is a perfect way to trade early.

Almost always ekkopassive.png  will proc Stormraiders with this build, even early game.

ekkopassive.png Z-Drive Resonance: This is the bread and butter of Ekko. Most of your kill potential comes from this, and your goal should always be to use its power and utility to your full advantage. Getting this proc off on someone will allow you to trade and run to safety if being chased, or stick to a squishy target if it doesn't headshot them.

ekkoQ.pngTimewinder: This will be the main ability you use to try to proc Z-drive. Maxing it first will bring down its cooldown and allow you to harass and wave clear very easily, better than most mid champs. The fact that it hits twice if used correctly is an easy set up for a trade with E or a great time to all in and get a free 300 gold.

ekkoW.pngParallel Convergence: Its a tough ability to use correctly, but with many uses. The ability to predict or lead your opponents into this "trap" is key, the potential to stun the entire enemy team is amazing, but even if used just to slow them during chase or escape brings this ability to OP status in the right hands.

ekkoE.pngPhase Dive:Yet another ability that brings Ekko above most assassins, this short cooldown low cost double dash has the killing potential of a nuke. This can be used to followup with all of Ekko's other abilities and synergizes with 3100.png perfectly. It can be used as an pseudo auto-attack reset, and the magic damage it applies also counts towards towers.

ekkoR.pngChronobreak: This ability is simply amazing, used offensively or defensively. The visual clone that follows you around represents where this ability will take you, over time you will always know where it is and whos standing next to it. It can be used to quickly tower dive someone, grab a kill, and ult out, returning most of the health you lost during the dive. It can instead be used to turn the tide of a fight, its ratio's are off the charts and the damage that it does will tilt your opponents in team fights.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Dorans start will give you the mana regen, and health you need to trade early and safely last hit with Q if needed.

Core Items

The CDR and mana regain from Moellonomicon are mandatory. Lichbane gives you the added CDR, but more importantly the damage to chunk opponents and towers in synergy with your E. Rabbadons will be your 2nd to last item, giving you godlike kill potential.
Your choices of boots depends on how much CC the enemy team has, remember that your useless and probably dead if you're stunned or snared.

Situational Items

Needed if you're behind to an enemy AP mid, or against teams with large amounts of magic damage.
Only real option against AD assassins, and it has the added bonus of giving you a second "oh sh*t button"
100% mandatory against teams building against you specifically. Stacking Magic resist.

VS

Anivia

Easy

Pre 6, bait the stun and then all in her. easily wins all trades.

Post 6, roam or safely clear waves with your Q. She will win almost every trade.

VS

Annie

Easy

Pay attention to her stacks, once her abilities are blown shes an easy target. Keep your lane warded so you don't get baited into an all in just to be stunned and double teamed.

VS

Azir

Medium

His harass with W-Q can be tough, but once he uses his Q hes an easy target. If he uses it to harass and he isn't standing near where his soldiers moved to, jump on him. Easily killed.

VS

Diana

Medium

Her kit counters yours, pay attention to her 3 hit proc and do not underestimate her shield. Avoid her Q's with your E.

VS

Ezreal

Easy

Seeing a lot of these guys mid lately. E's cooldown is very long at early levels, bait it with E and back off, then reengage when E is off cooldown for an easy trade.

VS

Jhin

Easy

This matchup is a joke, if someone picks Jhin against you just remember, he has ZERO mobility. Your stun will be landed easily.

VS

Katarina

Easy

Avoid standing next to minions when she Q's, as long as you avoid that you'll easily win every trade.

VS

Lissandra

Hard

Can safely farm better than you, prevents your all ins just by using W and has an ult that matches yours in power. Farm safely and roam whenever possible.

VS

Lulu

Hard

Completely counters you, farm safely and avoid her Q at all costs. Make sure your jungler is ganking whenever possible.

VS

Syndra

Medium

Avoid her Q's and W's with E and you can easily trade with her. Using your ult when she uses hers negates hers completely.

VS

Twisted Fate

Medium

No mobility. Wait for him to pick a card and last hit a minion, then all in or trade. He will be roaming a lot... Punish him by taking his tower, or follow him to counter gank.

VS

Veigar

Easy

Do not let him farm, His stun is your only issue. Stay on top of him when its on cooldown.

VS

Viktor

Hard

His harass is light years beyond yours, but easily avoidable with E. If he uses Death ray, jump on him, but know he will be using his W right away, getting out of it before the stun can enable you to still trade.

VS

Xerath

Easy

Bait his Stun and you'll have no problems with all ins.

VS

Yasuo

Hard

Has mobility that far exceeds yours, do your best to farm safely and aim your abilities carefully. Do your best to avoid his knockups or you will lose lane.

VS

Zed

Hard

A good zed will not waste his W, but whenever you see him use it for harass and land nothing, thats the best time to trade. Otherwise, you need to farm as much as you can so he doesn't outscale you hard late game. Do your best to use your ult to your advantage, keep it close by moving in circles, you can then use your ult after he uses his to either negate the damage or kill him before he does enough damage to kill you.
