Summoner Spells Back to Top

They're finally doing something with Aatrox, his accent is annoying though.

4.png Flash / Smite 11.png

Flash and smite is the most optimal set of spells, due to Evelynn's difficulty to close gaps without using major abilities. Best used to close gaps and escapes.

14.png Ignite / Smite 11.png

Less optimal but more aggressive, use this if enemy team has weak CC and or good heals and quick sustain such as a Warwick and a Dr. Mundo. Use this to break enemy heals and to win trades and sever single target's heal to make and easier assassination.

New Runes Back to Top

Domination / Precision

Dark Harvest

Dark%20Harvest.png?width=64 Dark Harvest is a strong snowballing build based on farming early and quick bursting single targets. Evelynn's Whiplashevelynne.png Procs off of Dark Harvest's passive making your damage output far more potent mid and late game. Dark Harvest severs Evelynn's main damage early game but makes her extremely dangerous late game. Be sure that after level 6 you constantly look for ganking opportunities, try to get kills and assists, try and pick up fallen souls of a nearby Canon minion etc, try your hardest to stack Dark Harvest but don't get too greedy, take only whats open.

Contrasting with Electrocute

This is the average amount of damage dealt to champions with the selected rune.
Dark%20Harvest.png?width=32 Evelynn Full Build Dark Harvest
Stacks: 50 Overall Combo Dmg: 5641
Stacks: 100 Overall Combo Dmg: 6190
Stacks: 150 Overall Combo Dmg: 9042

Electrocute.png?width=32 Evelynn Full Build Electrocute
Overall Combo Dmg with Electrocute: 5666
Overall Combo Dmg w/o Electrocute: 5249

Sudden Impact

Sudden%20Impact.png?width=64 Sudden Impact is very powerful with Evelynn after and beyond level 6 after you gain Demon Shade evelynnpassive.png whenever you leave stealth you gain a boost of Lethality and Magic Penetration, add this bonus damage on top of  Allure's evelynnw.png Bonus magic Resist shred, you deal significantly more damage to champions with more magic resist.

Eyeball Collection

Eyeball%20Collection.png?width=64 Eyeball Collection helps Evelynn snowball harder into the late game, after level 6 focus on ganking and killing enemies, try and flank the enemy, wait patiently until they use and escape or CC and engage with Allure evelynnw.png, stay out of sight until Allure is ready to charm use Hate Spike (Initial Cast) evelynnq.png to engage, enhancing your damage with your Whiplash.

Relentless Hunter

Relentless%20Hunter.png?width=64 Relentless Hunter is a great way to become more present as the game progresses, with Demon Shade evelynnpassive.png you are very present, without the fear of normal wards catching you, you can really keep strong pressure on lanes, with Relentless Hunter you gain more out of combat movement speed, making it easier to roam and get to lanes quickly without the ability to counter it. This Rune is well combined with Boots of Mobility 3117.png Also increasing with out of combat movement speed making you very hard for the enemy team to guess where you are.

Absolute Focus

Absolute%20Focus.png?width=64  Absolute Focus works well with Evelynn as her Demon Shade helps her stay healthier and keep Absolute focus up more often, Also greatly helps as the bonus AP can greatly affect her damage and burst.

Gathering Storm

Gathering%20Storm.png?width=64 Gathering Storm obviously is the best way to go when you want to scale, it does take some time to get going but does incredibly increase general AP Scaling.

Secondary Rune options

You can switch out Sorcery for precision runes, these are good too for flat damaging instead of hard scaling.

Triumph.png?width=64 Triumph Helps Evelynn survive in fights being able to quickly replenish health after quickly bursting someone, it is best because it allows you to better survive after a fight. With Triumph and Demon Shade's evelynnpassive.pngpassive Health Regeneration, you can quickly replenish yourself and prepare on another target.

Coup De Grace / Cut Down

Coup%20De%20Grace.png?width=64 Coup De Grace is the best in most situations, when the enemy team has squishy easy to burst targets it is best to take Coup De Grace, if you use Last Caress evelynnr.png on enemies below 30% health you will deal Maximum Damage, this maximum damage is amplified by Coup De Grace's Bonus Damage on targets below 40% Health.

Cut Down

Cut%20Down.png?width=64 Cut Down is better for an enemy team with very tanky hard to take down Champions ones to take serious note on are specifically, is Galio 3.png his passive ability to absorb Magic damage he will be formidable and tanky, Cut Down will help against his tank stats.

River Queen

You can dominate the river and get great AP Bonuses there by taking..

Water Walking

Waterwalking.png?width=64 This grants you ability power and movement speed in the river, this will greatly enhance your roaming and map presence.

Celerity.png?width=64 This will be great with water walking as the water walking movement speed is converted to more AP, combining with the water walking AP you will be the River Queen!

Ability Order

Abilities to max

1st. Whiplash

(3rd Ability when Jungling)
evelynne.png  Empowered_Whiplash.pngWhiplash is the first ability to max mainly due to it's strong enhanced damage and its % Max Health Damage, It is better to max this over Hate Spike evelynnq.png because Hate spike has weak scaling and bonus damage does not scale harder than Whiplash's Damage increase, along with it's unreliability in a trade due to it's agonizingly long Cooldown. Try most often to use Whiplash when you have you Hate Spike mark on the target, as it will  then deal bonus damage.

2nd. Allure

(2nd Ability when Jungling)
evelynnw.png Allure is best to max second because it's very strong Bonus Damage to monsters, Charm Duration, Charm Magic Resist Shred, lower Cooldown. Always attempt to wait for Allure's full charge to go off to use it, once the Charm is ready proc the charm with your Hate Spike (Initial Cast) evelynnq.png and use the 3 Bonus Damage charges with at least 1 Whiplash evelynne.pngand Hate Spikes (Secondary Cast) in between.

3rd. Hate Spike

(1st Ability when Jungling)
evelynnq.png Hate spike is maxed last because of it's weaker scaling, longer Cooldown and low base damages, it is important as a passive damage source but not as your main Damage source, it is best to rely on Whiplash, constantly rush in and out of a fight, in a 1 vs 1 use Allure evelynnw.png, then use Hate Spike (Initial Cast) evelynnq.png, Whiplash evelynne.png, and then use the Bonus Movement Speed to rush out, and re-enter Demon Shade evelynnpassive.png, use the Cooldown Reset on Whiplash evelynne.png to re-engage if possible, always try to use Hate Spikes Initial Cast before using Whiplash to maximize your Damage output.

Last Caress

evelynnr.png Last Caress is Evelynn's execute ability, use this to execute, escape, or to even gap close, According to each situation Evelynn's Warp on her Ultimate helps her quickly dis-engage a fight, use this to finish and opponent and use the Warp to back off and re-enter Demon Shade to reset Whiplash and prepare to jump another target. Of course it is best to put points into this ability at any point possible.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Core Items

Choose between Echos or Skirmishers for chase or damage.
Right after smite item get a Lich Bane's bonus damage proc's on Evelynn's Whiplash making it further maximize her Whiplash Damage.
Then boots, after buying smite item or after lich bane choose between Mobi boots for Roam, Sorc Shoes for damage.
Example of what build should look like
After Lich Bane get a Void staff and a Rabadons to maximize AP and Magic Penetration
Last Item choices: Spell Binder for short bursts of damage. Mejai's for AP snowballing. Rylai's for stick and damage, or Morellonomicon for Grevous wounds.

Situational Items

    When Needing resistances.

Build Paths

Starting Items

Hunter's Talisman

1039.png Hunter's Talisman is best for Evelynn to sustain in the Jungle, her Demon Shade evelynnpassive.png offers her incredible sustain with Health Regeneration but she uses allot of mana, to help sustain I highly recommend first starting with Hunter's Talisman.

1st Item

Chilling Smite / Skirmisher's

1402.png Chilling Smite is usually the upgrade I take, it's Movement Speed steal is very helpful in chasing and escaping. Use this right before Procing Allure's Charm evelynnw.pngwith Hate Spike's Initial Cast evelynnq.png to slow the enemy making it easier to land the Charm.

1414.png Skirmisher's is amazing for quickly taking down single target's take this when you have enemies with little or no CC or easy escapes, using Skirmisher's Bonus True Damage, This increases your damage output but weakens your chase and escape.

Early Items

2032.png Hunter's Potion is the best item to get (After buying or while building towards your Smite Item 1402.png 1414.png) Hunter's Potion helps significantly with Evelynn's Jungle sustain, It's Heal and Mana from Activating or killing any monster with 5 Hunter's Potion stacks. Use this to stay in Jungle and farm up your Dark Harvest Dark%20Harvest.png?width=32

2nd Item

Boot's of Mobility / Sorcerers Shoes / Mercury Treads

3117.png Boot's of Mobility is my most optimal boots, it helps my Map presence and roaming ability, Reduces her overall Damage and ability to burst tanks. Use these when you have squishy enemy targets.

Sorcerer Shoes

3020.png  Sorcerer Shoes helps Evelynn burst down tankier enemies and increase her damage output, but heavily weighs down on her Roaming and Map presence. Use these when your enemies are more based on tank stats rather than damage and mobility.

Mercury Treads

3111.png Mercury Treads is when you truly need help escaping enemy CC get this when the enemy has hard CC or immobilizing abilities such as Morgana's Dark Binding darkbindingmissile.png, the 3 second root is far too long to take when being targeted only get this if necessary.

Early Damage Items

3rd Item

Lich Bane

3100.png Lich Bane is very good on Evelynn because her Whiplash evelynne.png Applies on-hit affects, Lich Bane's Passive Bonus Damage is an on hit affect using Whiplash alone will count as an ability and proc Lich Bane's Bonus Damage Increasing her overall damage and Map presence with the Passive Movement Speed. It also works well because you start a gank or fight with Allure evelynnw.png, Proc the Charm with Hate Spike's Initial Cast evelynnq.png, and then Empowered Whiplash, Allure will prepare Lich Bane's Passive Bonus Damage for Evelynn's Empowered Whiplash to deal Maximum Damage.

4th Item

Void Staff

3135.png Void Staff is the large power spike for Evelynn when Allure evelynnw.png is maxed it will shred 35% of the Targets Current Magic Resist, Void staff will give 45% flat Magic Penetration. When Charm is activated on an enemy champion with Void Staff you will Penetrate 80% of the Targets Current Magic Resist, vastly increasing her damage output. This wi

5th Item

Rabadon's Deathcap

3089.png Rabadon's Deathcap heavily increases Evelynn's overall damage, This item is very prioritized but is best as the fifth complete item after Runic Echos, Boots, Lich Bane, Void Staff, - Rabadon's Deathcap.

6th Item Is optional, Find what best fits the situation.

3151.png 3041.png 3116.png 3165.png 3146.png

Secondary / Situational Items

Mejai's Soulstealer

3041.png Mejai's Soulstealer is a feast or famine item, get this when you're significantly ahead but be careful when fighting, Evelynn is weak to CC you may Need to use Last Caress evelynnr.png as an in dire situations.

Rylai's Crystal Scepter

3116.png Rylai's Crystal Scepter is a good replacement for Mejai's Soulstealer, If it's to late in the game or you are to behind to scale well with the Item, Rylai's is a strong well rounded Item helping you chase and escape better with the slows.

Important to Know

- Sacrifices overall Ability Power Scailing vs Mejai's / Rabadon's, etc.
+ Increases Health, Chase potential / Escape potential.

3165.png Morellonomicon is good when you can't scale with Mejai's, it gives allot of Cooldown Reduction, which this build does lack, gives needed Mana and gives 8 seconds of Grevious Wounds 14.png  when damaging a target below 35% health which Evelynn can quickly achieve.

Important to Know

- Sacrifices overall Ability Power Scailing vs Mejai's / Rabadon's, etc.
+ Increases Cooldown Reduction, Mana, Grevious Wounds.

Hextech Gunblade

3146.png Hextech Gunblade as with the other Situational Items are well replacments for Mejai's if you don't think you're ahead enough or simply want different effects, it's sometimes better to take the situational items over the recommended I've given, Hextech Gunblade helps by giving +80 Ability Power, Healing off 15% Damage Dealt (33% effective to AOE) And of course Slowing Target for 40% and additionally dealing 175 - 253 (+30% of Ability Power) In Magic Damage to Target. Take this option if you want to maximize single target damage.

Important to Know

+ 40 Attack Damage, 80 Ability power, 40% slow
& 175 - 253 (+30% of Ability Power) in Magic Damage,
Healing off 15% Damage Dealt (33% effective to AOE Spells) for
ex. Last Caress evelynnr.png, Secondary Hate Spikes evelynnq.png

Dead Man's Plate

3742.png Dead Man's Plate is a serious situational item but definatley isn't a bad choice, the movement speed passive helps with roam and Out of Combat Movement Speed. +425 Health, +60 Armor, The Bonus Damage on Dead Man's procs with Evelynn's Whiplash evelynne.png Increasing It's flat damage but the sacrifice of Ability Power reduces it's % Max Health Damage

Important to Know

- Whiplash's % Max Health Damage, Overall Damage / Ability Power.
+ +425 Health, + 60 Armor, Momentum Passive.

Spirit Visage

3065.png Spirit Visage is an item to protect you from high ability power enemies, and to increase Demon Shade's evelynnpassive.png Passive Healing, Also offering +450 Health, +55 Magic Resist, 100% Health Regeneration, 10% Cooldown Reduction, +30% Increased all Healing Received.

Important to Know

- Overall Damage / Ability Power
+ +450 Health, +55 Magic Resist, 100% Health Regeneration,
10% Cooldown Reduction,
Increases all healing received
by 30%

Items I don't recommend

3151.png  I don't recommend Liandry's anymore due to its stat change, it no longer gives magic pen but instead gives 2% more damage each second in combat maxing at 10%. The reason why this doesn't work entirely well with Evelynn is later game you're only going to be in combat for like 1 second so it won't do much for you.

  • Amumu
  • Ivern
  • Jax
  • Kayn
  • Kha'Zix
  • Master Yi
  • Shaco
  • Tryndamere
  • Vayne
  • Zac

32.png Against Amumu

Amumu will be difficult due to his fair balance of damage and tank stats, try your best to keep away from him early game and farm up in your jungle be sure to ward up your jungle, also you may consider getting Zombie Ward Zombie%20Ward.png?width=32 for extra vision in your jungle, be sure to ward your jungle entrances with either Control wards 2055.png or Farsight Alteration 3363.png wards. Invade his blue whenever possible hince he's so reliant on Mana.

Just... Just kill him...

24.png Against Jax

Jax's E, jaxcounterstrike.png Counter Strike Blocks Evelynn's Whiplash evelynne.png, Evelynn's Damage relies on her Landing her Whiplash, with him being able to block it makes him a difficult enemy to face alone, throw your W, Allure evelynnw.png on him when he STARTS Counter strike The charm will be ready before the CC is over then engage with Q, applying the Bonus Damage, Charm, Magic Resist Shred, then Whiplash.

141.png   Against Kayn

Kayn has a relatively weak early game, but don't underestimate his damage output, I would recommend not starting anything early game unless he is low health and you're sure you can kill him. I recommend Farming early game, and wait until mid to late game, you vastly out scale him. But do be careful for his Shadow Assassin form, even though you harshly outscale him, he still does have an impressive power spike, if you get the jump on him with a Charm and a Q E Combo you should get him but be mindful if you don't deal enough damage at first, re enter Demon Shade and stalk him, Engage again once you have the E reset and W is ready.

The Kayn matchup is changed to medium when against Josh.

121.png Against Kha'Zix

Kha'Zix is very dangerous in all stages of the game in a fight fist to cuff against him, Avoid him at all costs, He will very likey win trades due to his Unseen Threat khazixpassive.png, and the Bonus Damage on his Q Taste Their Fear khazixq.png, although mid to late game if you get the jump on him, and Land a charm on him, you should be able to kill him before he can blink! But make sure you stay in Demon Shade, if he sees you Kha'Zix is an infinitely stronger Dueler.

Master Yi

This matchup is better for you in the late game, don't try to fight him before level 6. You scale so much harder than he does, so wait until late game, don't let him catch you out or you won't have good chances of living.

35.png Against Shaco

Shaco will mostly be annoying not really dangerous, but don't really attempt to fight him early but if you must fight him try to keep thought of a way to escape if it turns sour, ward your Jungle entrances with either Farsight Alterations 3363.png, Zombie Wards Zombie%20Ward.png?width=32, or Control wards 2055.png

Even though it's unlikely he will be jungle but playing against him can be difficult, if you want to kill him see if you can get a buddy to engage as safely as possible and try to get his ult, after 2.5 seconds in his R you throw your charm on him and fallow up with a Q E R combo.

If you're alone get behind him, throw a charm and your best bet is to throw your full combo as fast as possible to kill him, Only do this if you are ahead and know you can kill him! Trynd is dangerous to fight.

Wait for her to use her tumble as it's easy to miss her when she dashes, Get behind her charm and kill her really fast as her condemn can really ruin your combo.

He's a tank so just farm and avoid him until you get a Void staff. At that point once you land the charm just combo his ass.

Play Style

Movement 6.png

As Evelynn always abuse Demon Shade, make your enemies think you're always think where you are not, early game, Pre-6 wait and farm in jungle, only go for ganks early if they are pushed up and if the laner you're ganking offers CC or high damage. As stated before, be Insidious and flank to gank. As I like to say, once you turn Level six, make League of Legends an online Horror Survival Game for the enemy team, don't give them time to breath, but do be carefull and don't under-estimate your enemies or yourself, stay confident, but not cocky.

Pathing In Depth

When Jungling with Evelynn I would suggest starting blue buff, Evelynn relies souly on Mana, without it she won't do anything. Start blue for early Mana Regeneration, try your best to kite the buff and try not to use smite, rememberDemon Shade gives incredible Health Regeneration helping you sustain if you drop low health, usually use Smite as a last resort or to clear more quickly.
As soon as you kill Blue Sentinel put your point into Allure (W)evelynnw.png  and start the charm, once ready start it with a Hate Spike evelynnq.png And spam Q on it naturally, of course kite it as much as possible, smiting Gromp will most Likely be needed. Once Gromp has been taken go to Blue side River Scuttle, Use Allure and Hate Spikes.

Next will be Wolves, once wolves are taken you will reach Level 3 put your next point into Whiplash (E)

Then go to Raptors, Charming the Crimson Raptor, Use Q on the large Raptor, procing the charm, back up line up the small Raptors ahead of the large Raptor then use Empowered Whiplash on the large Raptor, afterwards continue using Hate Spike, Try to land Hate Spikes Initial cast on the large Raptor as to deal more damage to it.

Next will be red side Rift Scuttler, use the same ways to kill the red side Scuttle than you did the blue side, start with W then proc the charm with Q, Spam Q at that point.

After that, Take the Red buff, take this by Charming, Procing charm with Q, the Whiplash, Q before you Whiplash to maximize its Damage.

After Red Take Krugs, focus the large Krug, after you finish the Krugs back and you should have enough gold to buy 1001.png2032.png, and the Chilling Smite Enchantment / Challenger Smite Enchantment.

Et Voila! Thanks for viewing my Evelynn Guide! I had lots of fun making it and will have more updating it! Please comment or join my Discord server, I'd love to play or teach anyone anything else about Evelynn.
