Masteries Back to Top

6111.png Although much of Ezreal's kit is based off of ability damage, you are still an adc and you will find that auto attacks actually make up a more significant portion of your damage. This is not a decisive mastery option and taking sorcery isn't necessarily bad on Ezreal. In the jungle, attack speed is essential for clearing.

6122.png Great for adding a bit of sustain when clearing camps.

6134.png 6131.pngEzreal has both ad and ap scalings on his abilities so this mastery grants more bonuses than it would to other champions. Some players will put 1 point into Vampirism and 4 points into Natural Talent to squeeze in a bit of healing. The extra point in Vampirism will improve your jungle survivability.

6141.png Great for snowballing and it feels good to have a higher damage cap. However, Double Edged Sword and Battle Trance are both viable options for Ezreal. Bounty Hunter is taken on most junglers as you will be participating in kills all around the map when you gank.

6151.png You deal more physical damage than magic.

6162.png Fervor is a MUST for adc Ezreal. Warlords and Thunderlords are garbage.

6312.png Obviously pick this one.

6321.png Standard for all junglers who invest in this mastery tree.

6331.png Although Ezreal can have mana issues even with Tear of the Goddess, I take Merciless because I don't want to give up damage.

6341.png Can be proced often in the jungle.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Core Items

Situational Items

1041.pngHunter's Machete for starting items because you are auto-attack based.

On your first back, you should aim to buy 3070.pngTear of the Goddess. Ezreal should be stacking his tear as soon as possible and at all times when possible. It is common practice to use abilities while walking to lane to simply stack tear whenever its cooldown allows. With the blue buff, Ezreal should be able to farm his tear constantly without punishment of mana issues. If you cannot afford a tear on your first back, you can purchase a
1036.pngLongsword, 1001.pngBoots of Speed, or 3715.pngSkirmisher's Sabre. Buying just 1027.pngSapphire Crystal is practically useless as it doesn't give combat stats.

Do not purchase 3057.pngSheen too soon as you will lose efficiency in the jungle.

On adc Ezreal, I like to purchase 3153.pngBlade of the Ruined King as my first damage item. However, on jungle Ezreal you will be more effective by stacking ad. Once you have purchased tear, you should look to complete your jungle item into 1412.pngEnchantment: Warrior, then finish 3004.pngManamune, then 3078.pngTriforce, then 3153.pngBlade of the Ruined King. Some disagree that BoRK should be built later, but on Jungle Ezreal, leaning on raw ad provides more effective burst.

Tier 2 boots should be purchased after you have sufficient damage. Buying tier 2 boots is a defensive investment when it could be invested into more damage. If your build is well rounded, tier 2 boots can then be purchased. Typically when playing jungle Ezreal, you reach damage checkpoints much more easily than adc Ezreal and I often find myself purchasing tier 2 boots much earlier than when playing adc.

Do not build other items until your core build is completed. The core build is viable for all match ups and team comps. Situational items are built accordingly to your enemy's team comp.

Iceborn Gauntlet can be built over Triforce, but it is heavily situational. I dislike building Iceborn Gauntlet because you lose a lot of damage that potentially could have been gained from Triforce. Iceborn Gauntlet should be built if you are behind and the enemy is heavily ad and your team can keep up in damage.

General Back to Top

Ezreal jungle is a very unique type of jungler, but viable option. Essentially, Ezreal jungle should be played as a snowbally hypercarry who is basically gonna dish out insane amounts of damage. Ezreal jungle games should be decided early and ended as soon as possible.

Jungle Path: Blue or Red --> Wolves --> Blue or Red --> Gank or Scuttle Crab --> Gank/Roam.

Choose the starting camp on the side that your bot lane is on. Typically they will give a better leash and you can rotate through your camps to gank top. Typically this is bad for your bot lane if they want to push the wave in early or do some early game shenanigans, but this is the most optimal path for ganking top early as often top lane will be the easiest lane to gank. This is just general advice for most match ups, but if you find ganking bot lane to be a more optimal early gank, then you can start top side and rotate through bot jungle instead.

Ezreal's ability to deal with camps is very strong due to his ezrealmysticshot.pngQ and his ezrealpassive.pngPassive giving Ezreal a fast clear speed. Ezreal's range also enables him to kite camps much better than other junglers. Kiting jungle creeps can reduce your damage taken in the jungle.

You should be looking for ganks on any jungler, but Ezreal jungle should be ganking very frequently much in the way that a Lee Sin or Nidalee would constantly be looking for ganks. This is because these champions have a relatively strong early game and often can obtain kills easily with their strong early game damage.

Of course there's reasons why Ezreal jungle isn't seeing professional play as there are several weaknesses to Ezreal jungle. Ezreal can fall behind very easily if you mess up and die or simply can't find optimal ganks. Ezreal has a hard time clearing Raptors and Krugs can take a very long time without sufficient damage. Once you have some damage going from your items you can clear these camps with ease, but early game they should be avoided unless you can't find a good gank. Ezreal's early game damage is also heavily dependent on the red buff as his ranged attacks allow him to apply the red buff easily thus making his ganks very strong. However, if you gank without red buff, Ezreal will have a harder time locking down his target and lose damage.
