Ignite lets you deal more damage for free, and have kill threat at all stages of the game.

Flash is required on most champions, Fiddlesticks is no exception, it is especially useful for engages after using ULT crowstorm.png then Flash 4.png or using Flash 4.png Q terrify.png to instantly CC a target.

Skill Order

crowstorm.png dot-pattern.pngfiddlesticksdarkwind.png dot-pattern.pngterrify.png dot-pattern.pngdrain.png

fiddlestickspassive.png Passive

Standing still or channeling abilities the moving will grant Fiddlesticks bonus movement speed for a short duration.

  • Can use this in lane to quickly move forward to throw E fiddlesticksdarkwind.png then run away.
  • Otherwise it pretty much acts on it's own when you are sitting in a bush or channeling ULT

terrify.png Terrify

On click Fear an enemy champion

  • One of the strongest CC's still in the game, all you have to do is put your mouse over an enemy champion, and press Q to CC them.
  • Use Q terrify.png then > W drain.png to get max damage from Drain.

drain.png Drain

Cast on an enemy, Fiddlesticks stands still, dealing magic damage in a short radius to the selected target, and also regens health, if the target moves far enough away the drain will cancel and the damage will stop.

  • Cast then when close enough to an enemy to get a lot of damage from it
  • When casting Drain you will stand in place, making you an easy target to CC, and people will be trying to CC you to stop the damage, so be ready to move again, or flash.
  • Use Q terrify.png to fear enemies then drain them.

On click ability,  Fiddlesticks throws a crow that bounces randomly from enemy to enemy damaging and silencing them.
  • Cast this on the minion wave so it will bounce to the enemy champions for poke damage
  • During any fight cast this for damage, or when enemies are clumped up for max damage
  • The silence on this ability is also very strong.

Fiddlesticks channels for 1.5 seconds, then blinks to a target area, and damages all enemies in a huge AOE around him for a brief duration.
  • Use this over walls to surprise enemies and start teamfights.
  • Use this in place when a fight starts for max damage.
  • Watch out for CC, if you are CC'd during the channel the ULT will be cancelled.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Core Items

Situational Items

3303.png Spelltheives Edge - Gives you gold for damaging enemies, best item for Fiddle, giving you AP and builds into the stronger 3098.png.
2003.png You start with 3 health pots, use them any time you take a big trade to sustain in lane.
3340.png Free Ward on cooldown.

Core Build

3098.png3117.png2065.png3050.png

It will be rare unless you get very Fed that you get past these couple of items.

Early Build path will look like this:

You can build boots earlier if you want, but having the base stats from 1052.png1028.png is very valuable for early 2v2s.

2065.png This item lets you and your team gain a burst of movement speed, good for engages and disengages, use it right as you ULT crowstorm.png to get on top of enemies.
3050.png Zeke's is a good 2nd item because it gives Fiddlesticks lots of Armor & Magic Resist, making you slightly tankier, and gives you more of a benefit from Fiddlestick's ULT crowstorm.png since it activates Zeke's, slowing enemies near you, and making your ADC / binded ally deal more damage to them.

Items you can build after these 2 core are :
3190.png Locket is an OK shield and more Armor & Magic Resist for Fiddle, after the nerf it's not the most efficient item.
3905.png Lots of AP, very cheap, and active slow isn't terrible useful, but it's good for checking the fog of war.
3116.png Kind of expensive, but really useful slow, and stats in AP + Health.
3165.png Really Expensive snowball magic pen, AP, Health, and healing reduction, really good to get if you are ahead.

  • Morgana
    Hard
  • Rakan
    Medium
  • Soraka
    Easy
  • Taric
    Medium
  • Thresh
    Hard

VS

Alistar

Medium
terrify.png you can fear alistar when he Ws headbutt.png you to negate his engage, but if he 4.pngpulverize.pngs then be ready to flash

VS

Blitzcrank

Hard
Not much counter play to Blitzcrank as Fiddlesticks, he simply powerfist.pngrocketgrab.png you in lane and you die.

Stand in the minion wave and avoid him.

VS

Braum

Easy
Braum is like a punching bag in lane, spam E fiddlesticksdarkwind.png every time it's off cooldown, and push the lane hard.

He doesn't have ways to block your damage so you can get away with a lot during teamfights.

VS

Karma

Medium

Karma is a skill matchup, if you get hit by her Qs karmaq.png than you lose, but if she doesn't avoid your E fiddlesticksdarkwind.png she will run out of health. You can also single her out in fights with fear. terrify.png

VS

Morgana

Hard
blackshield.png negates your damage, and CC terrify.png

It's very easy for Morgana to have lined up Binding against fiddlesticks when he ULTs or isn't moving.

Play the laning phase passive if you can't out play her, and look for roams quicker than she can react to them.

VS

Rakan

Medium
If you can cast fear terrify.png fast enough you can negate his engage, but if Rakan R W s rakanr.pngrakanw.png and you don't flash it you are probably dead.

Avoid his Q rakanq.png in lane and you can out poke him.

VS

Soraka

Easy

Soraka E sorakae.png can be annoying, but she is very vulnerably to the fog of war, if you gank her with your jungler she becomes very useless.

VS

Taric

Medium
Taric can be a hard matchup if you can't click fast enough to dodge his E tarice.png he will be targeting you and if you get hit by E you are probably dead.

You easily out poke him, but keep your distance.

VS

Thresh

Hard
Thresh is very tank, and had lots of CC, everything fiddlesticks doesn't like, in 2v2s avoid him, since he will likely be aiming at you, and try to single out his ADC.

Be ready to flash his hooks threshq.png when you ULT

Early Game Back to Top

Early Game is pretty simple, it usually consist of you casting E fiddlesticksdarkwind.png either directly on the enemy, or the minion wave so that it bounces to them to damage them, if you cast E fiddlesticksdarkwind.png on the enemy caster minions or the minions they are closest to, it is more likely to bounce to them.

In most matchups the enemy Support will most likely have a main damage threat or CC threat ability, that you can't really challenge, so it's best to not, until you get a gank from your jungler then you can move forward to Fear terrify.png to CC them and setup for any easy kill.

When moving forward in lane you should have a plan, or else you get bursted very quickly, unlike other supports, Fiddlesticks isn't as forgiving. When you are caught out you pretty much die. So don't do that, but when you do, flash away 4.png quickly.

First recall make sure to buy Frostfang 3098.png for more damage, & gold generation, and CDR. If you used all 3 health pots 2003.png you can also buy 2031.png.

Fighting in lane involves a lot of moving forward than back, so when moving completely forward be playing to all in, rather than just moving forward.

When you are close enough auto attack before casting E fiddlesticksdarkwind.png for max damage.
It's very hard for the enemy to punish you unless you move out of position, aka to far forward without your AD, the other way is if you are pushed up in the lane and get ganked by the enemy jungler, so watch out of these.

Mid Game Back to Top

Mid Game is when you can start making plays on Fiddlesticks, with his ULT crowstorm.png you can gank any lane from the fog of war, gaining distance for free, and having flash you can close a ton of distance and get onto enemies.

Make sure to carry Control Wards 2055.png when moving around the map, so that you can check to see if the area you are set up in is actually in the fog of war, before you ULT, if you ULT and the enemy sees you, they simply walk away from it.

3117.png Mobility boots are also so important for your Mid Game pressure, you should halt the build path of 2065.png, once the laning phase ends or you have the gold to turn boots 1001.png into mobility boots, than do it, it makes you move faster around the map, helping you gank faster, and cause more pressure.

If you have no lane to gank, than just shadow your ADC, or stay near a lane to get XP from minions, it's important to keep up with levels, since it's so easy to fall behind from excessive roaming on Fiddlesticks.

When roaming take note of your jungler's position, if you gank a lane with him rather than ganking a lane on your own, you are way more likely to have a successful gank simply because of the numbers advantage.

Late Game Back to Top

Late Game Fiddlesticks becomes more utiltiy than damage, you get to wreck a lot of havoc that other support champions can't Early - Mid Game, but late game unless you are very fed, you simply don't get the gold income to have the items to deal as much damage as an AP carry.

So when Late Game rolls around take not of the advantages on both teams, and try to use your CC terrify.pngfiddlesticksdarkwind.png on the enemy champions that are the most fed / offer the most threat, and before fights start, think about if you should be the one engaging / moving forward or peeling for your carries, because you can do both, but it's very tempting to always be looking for the engage on the enemies with ULT crowstorm.png But standing near your ADC and waiting for the enemies to dive him and simply pressing Q terrify.png on someone diving your AD has HUGE value, rather than ULTing into 5 people, doing no damage, and dying.

Pros and Cons Back to Top

Pros

  • High Damage Early Game
  • Good Mix of CC and Damage
  • ULT has tons of play making potential

Cons

  • Squishy
  • Unique and maybe hard to learn / understand
  • Not as useful as other shielding / meta supports when behind.
