Summoner Spells Back to Top

The best summoners to take for Fiora are Teleport and Flash 12.png4.png.

14.png4.png or 3.png4.png gives you an easier chance to snowball early on. Most of the time you should bring Teleport 12.png because it benefits you in the long run. Teleport also lets you go back into your lane faster so that you don't miss out on XP, lets you gank bot in case the enemy team pushes into their tower, and gives presence later in the game. You can split push on one side and be able to join a team fight on the other side, just make sure to tell your team to place a ward down.

When Fiora first came out, people tried Exhaust/Teleport 3.png12.png, which makes sense since Fiora doesn't need Flash to jump over walls. I would, however, not suggest replacing your Flash/Ghost with an aggressive spell like Exhaust or Ignite as it leaves you vulnerable. Champions like Fizz or Hecarim are able to take spells like these because they can easily escape with Fizz's E or Hecarim's E. With Fiora, your Q isn't going to be enough to be considered an escape.

As of Patch 6.10, 6.png Ghost's cooldown and movement speed were both buffed. You can definitely use this for Fiora as it lets you stick to your target and make it easier to proc Vitals. In the jungle, you can dash over walls with Fiora's Q instead of having to Flash. The downside to taking Ghost over Flash is that you are not able to instantly initiate a fight or dodge an ability instantly.

Masteries Back to Top

As of Patch 6.8, for Fiora I like to take 18-0-12 with the Keystone Mastery being Fervor of Battle.

Ferocity Tree

Fiora auto attacks more than her abilities. Therefore, attack speed from Fury is a lot better than the ability damage from Sorcery.

Double Edged Sword is a nice additive to your output damage. Feast is better if you need more sustain in your lane.

Vampirism > Natural Talent for Fiora. Self explanatory.

Bounty Hunter is really good since you just need to kill 3 different enemies for it to be better then Oppressor, which you can easily accomplish on Fiora. Oppressor only activates when you use Fiora's E which has a long cooldown, which makes Bounty Hunter even better.

Battering Blows should be taken for the armor penetration.

Fervor of Battle is great for a champion like Fiora who will auto attack many times throughout a game. Getting stacks is also very easy to get on Fiora.

Cunning Tree

Normally, I don't take points into the Cunning section. Bandit/Dangerous Game aren't as good as the 15% summoner spell CD reduction from Insight in the Resolve Tree.

Resolve Tree

Recovery is better than Unyielding since you shouldn't be building Fiora as a tank.

Explorer > Tough Skin because the extra movement speed is more useful than the (small) damage reduction.

Runic Armor is better in general compared to Veteran's Scars for Fiora. It gives you a slight boost in your healing.

Insight is a great mastery to take nowadays. Since the nerf of Teleport's CD and the Distortion enchantment for boots being removed, having any sort of summoner spell CD reduction gives you an advantage over the enemy team. Stacking this alongside a Boots of Lucidity will reduce the base CD from 300 seconds to 225 seconds (Insight alone reduces the CD to 255 seconds) which gives a good advantage over someone that didn't take the mastery.

Explanation of Keystone Masteries

This is comparing the rest of the Keystone Masteries to Fervor of Battle, which is the preferred Keystone Mastery for Fiora.

Grasp of the Undying is nice to take for its healing, since she has no innate sustain. This helps you stay in a better state when you transition out of the laning phase if you're up against someone that can harasses you.

Warlord's Bloodlust is not as good as Grasp. Grasp of the Undying gives more HP back to you earlier in the game. You'll heal better later in the game but by then you could purchase a Death's Dance or a Bloodthirster and be fine with that.

Deathfire Touch is not as good as Fervor of Battle. Simply put, Fervor does a lot more damage on Fiora than DT.

Stormraider's Surge is not very good on Fiora. The mastery is best for those that go in on someone, burst them down, and have no reliable escape such as Rengar or Talon. You'd also be missing out on damage from Fervor.

Thunderlord's Decree isn't good. Since it only activates every 15 seconds every time you use it, you are losing out on damage from Fervor. The damage from TD isn't much either because you don't have any AP.

Getting Grasp of the Undying may be better than Fervor in some situations.

Going 12-0-18 and grabbing the Grasp of the Undying keystone mastery gives you a lot of sustain in your lane. This should be used if you are new to Fiora or if you are against a champion that has a lot of harass in the laning phase such as Pantheon or Kennen.

fiorapassive.png Duelist's Dance, Fiora's passive. Whenever you're near your opponents, a small arc (called a Vital) will randomly appear on one of their sides (4 possible sides with there being up, down, left, or right). Hitting the arc will deal bonus true damage (based off the enemy's max HP), grant you bonus movement speed , and heal you. Hitting a Vital will spawn a new one. Vitals last for 15 seconds and appear 1.5 seconds to identify a new one.

fioraq.png Lunge, Fiora's Q. Activating this will dash you towards the mouse's direction, hitting a nearby enemy. Lunge also applies on-hit effects and can proc Duelist's Dance.

Q is prioritized first to Vitals, then enemies that would die by Lunge, followed by the nearest enemy, prioritizing champions.

Hitting an enemy with Lunge will reduce the cooldown by 60%. The base cooldown is 16 seconds at Level 1, so use the Q wisely if you miss a target.

fiorariposte.png Riposte, Fiora's W. Activating this will make you invulnerable to all hostile CC effects (such as slow, taunt, stun, etc.) and non-turret damage for the next 0.75 seconds. After the duration, Fiora deals damage to all enemies in a line.

The first enemy champion has their movement and attack speed slowed by 50% for the next 1.5 seconds. If Fiora blocked at least one immobilizing effect (snare, stun, suspension, etc.), Riposte will stun the target instead.

Don't use W to block just autoattacks, since there are usually better ways to block damage (unless you're going against someone that has a ton of Attack Speed, such as a fed Master Yi). Remember, the ability blocks damage for only 0.75 seconds, which is usually just one autoattack.

Due to the recent nerfs to Riposte, it is better to max this over Bladework because the cooldown at level 1 is too much even if you brought CDR runes. Reducing the cooldown on Riposte is a lot better than losing out on damage from leveling up Bladework.

fioraflurry.png Bladework, Fiora's E. Activating this will give you 50% bonus attack speed for the next two autoattacks. The first autoattack is guaranteed to slow the enemy for 1 second, while the second autoattack is guaranteed to critically strike for bonus critical damage (the critical damage increases as you level up the ability).

Bladework also resets Fiora's autoattacks, keep this in mind when you are comboing your abilities.

fiorapassive.png Grand Challenge, Fiora's ultimate. Passively, the ultimate will give bonus movement speed to Duelist's Dance. Activating the ability will highlight all 4 Vitals on an enemy for the next 8 seconds. Duelist's Dance does not identify new Vitals on the target while this is in effect.

If you hit at least one Vital before the target dies, a large circle is created where all allies are healed for the next 2 seconds, with 1 second being extended for each extra Vital that you hit (for a maximum of 5 seconds). If you hit all 4 Vitals even without the target dying, the circle is still created (for 5 seconds). The circle does not appear if you did not hit any of the Vitals.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

This is a normal start if you're wanting to stay in lane for a longer amount of time.
Doran's Blade helps if you're going to go aggressive. If you cannot proc Fiora's passive for the sustain, get Long Sword + 3 potions.
Good if you have to play passively.
Corrupting Potion/Trinket is a normal setup. This is like old Crystalline Flask, where buying it would be cost efficient compared to buying a lot of Health Potions.

Core Items

This is a normal build, but it will change game to game
Combine with ravenous for extra sustain. build this later in the game
very good item to take. also cheap
good against crit and atk spd users
build if you're against ap users
    don't forget your MR items
ravenous > titanic as of patch 6.5
Don't forget to buy one of these boots
good if the other armor items don't work

Situational Items

The go-to item if you're super fed or for clutch team fights. Useful if the enemy's trying to focus you
If you're up against heavy CC enemies.
build instead of Black Cleaver if the enemy has no or few tanks AND you are ahead
best to take towards the end of a game when you have a lot of HP
    good for dueling

Starting Items

1036.png2003.png2003.png2003.png3340.png - Long Sword and x3 Health Potions is a good start against most enemies. Half damage/half sustain, this is a safe route since Long Sword can be built into other items such as Tiamat or Hexdrinker.

1055.png2003.png3340.png - Doran's Blade and x1 Health Potion is good if you want to go aggressive. If you don't have the advantage early on, this is one of the worst routes to go.
[Start this if you want to do a Level 1 Gromp, because this will give you the HP to finish it off.] <-- Leaving this here to remember when doing a jungle camp was in the meta.

1029.png2003.png2003.png2003.png2003.png3340.png - Cloth Armor and x4 Health Potions is good if you're against someone with early AD harass such as Pantheon.

2033.png3340.png - Corrupting Potion is the new Crystalline Flask; buying it with be cost efficient compared to buying a lot of Health Potions. Fiora has no innate sustain, so this should be a start to use very often. Good against another enemy that has sustain.

Items

Ionian Boots of Lucidity 3158.png help add a bit more CDR to your abilities and reduce some time on your summoner spells. This is generally good although you should not consider buying it if you're going to get items that already add up to 30% CDR (this is excluding the 10% CDR from the runes).

Mercury Treads 3111.png give a small amount of magic resistance, but its main point is the tenacity. Tenacity allows you to get out of CC slightly quicker so you can continue moving around. Best against hard CC opponents.

Boots of Swiftness 3009.png are good for moving around faster than other boots and help reduce slowing effects. If the enemy team has a lot of slows,

Ninja Tabis 3047.png are best against an AD opponent who you're going to duel a lot. Riven, Irelia, and Tryndamere are some prime examples. They will reduce a lot of their auto attacks and their abilities.

You should complete your boots after purchasing your second or third item.

As of Patch 6.5, the changes to Ravenous Hydra 3074.png make it more viable than Titanic Hydra 3748.png. Before, Ravenous scaled better later in the game compared to Titanic Hydra. However, due to the recent damage nerfs to Titanic, Ravenous therefore scales a lot faster. The HP and damage gained from Titanic is not as good as the damage and lifesteal given from Ravenous. Titanic is better in situations where you are super behind and can't last long with the sustain from Ravenous. Black Cleaver 3071.png or Dead Man's Plate 3742.png can be a nice follow up item.

Tiamat 3077.png gives an AoE passive which lets you push your lane so you can roam. Don't get this item if you want to freeze your lane.

Buy a Vision Ward 2043.png. It's 75G and has the possibility of being up for a very long time if you place it correctly.

Black Cleaver 3071.png is the bruiser's Last Whisper 3035.png. It gives HP and AD, both stats that heavily benefit someone like Fiora. Black Cleaver also gives a great passive that let you chase down your enemy every time you proc Q.

As of Patch 6.11, you can start building Black Cleaver as a first item due to its price. You lose out on the AoE passive from Tiamat and sustain from Ravenous Hydra (this lets you freeze your lane however) but you gain some HP, a movement speed passive, and an armor reduction passive altogether.

Youmuu's Ghostblade 3142.png  is nice to get if you're going to split push. When you split push, that's when you know you can 1v1 an enemy while your allies siege another objective. Youmuu's helps you win your 1v1 a lot easier.

Trinity Force 3078.png is nice to buy when the enemy team has very few tanks and you're ahead. The reason being is that it's very expensive to purchase, about 600 gold more than a Black Cleaver. It also doesn't provide the armor shred that BC gives.

Bloodthirster 3072.png is best for its healing abilites. Death's Dance 3812.png is better to take if you think that you don't need all the excessive sustain from Bloodthirster.

Sterak's Gage's 3053.png shield scales off maximum HP. Early on the shield and the bonus AD won't give you as much and thus not very efficient to purchase. Even at level 18, the base AD that it gives for Fiora is only 29 (58 when Sterak's Fury activates). This item is best to purchase as a 5th or 6th item.

Spirit Visage 3065.png is one of the better MR items to take. The item gives a passive sustain bonus that can stack alongside a Ravenous Hydra and other life steal items so you can survive better in teamfights. I prefer taking SV over Banshee's Veil 3102.png most of the time because of their passives. Banshee's Veil is better to take against an enemy who is bursty or has a long range CC that can catch you out (Morgana and Lux are some examples).

Maw of Malmortius 3156.png works great against an AP top and mid laner. You can build Hexdrinker 3155.png early on to help you win a fight and build it into Maw later on. Maw grants both AD, MR, a better shield than Hexdrinker, and some more sustain.

Frozen Mallet 3022.png sounds weird to build because not many people ever buy it. I have not tried it yet but it seems like a great item to take for Fiora as it lets you stick to your target better than Black Cleaver or Youmuu's Ghostblade. It does not grant as much damage, however, which means this should be bought later in the game.

Sunfire Cape 3068.png is another items that sounds weird to build for someone like Fiora. It does appear very good since Fiora will generally be next to her target. Once again, I have yet to build this but like Frozen Mallet, it seems like a great item to take for Fiora. Randuin's Omen 3143.png is better to take if you need more damage reduction from the enemy or if they have a Yasuo and/or an ADC that is building crit. Dead Man's Plate 3742.png is better to take if you need the extra movement speed from its passive and to catch someone out of position.

Frozen Heart 3110.png is good to take especially if you're going to be in the middle of a team fight. If you have mana issues the consider buying this item or an Iceborn Gauntlet 3025.png. Randuin's Omen stacks with FH multiplicatively for a total of 27.75% attack speed reduction. If you build this with Black Cleaver, remember that you've already hit the 40% CDR cap so you're going to lose some gold efficiency.

Iceborn Gauntlet 3025.png can be bought instead of Frozen Heart but it does not provide much damage, especially after its nerf in Patch 6.8. This should be bought if you have mana problems, need armor, and have other armor items in order to increase IG's slow radius.

Item Builds

These are some example item builds just to show what a build may look like in your game. Boots should be bought after completing one or two other items. Note that most of these builds add up to 30% CDR to match the 10% CDR gained from the runes. Some may go over and will have less gold efficiency.

Remember that your games will vary. This means your items builds will also vary.

3074.png3071.png3111.png3742.png3065.png3026.png - A normal set up
3074.png3071.png3009.png3143.png3065.png3053.png - Another normal set up
3071.png3074.png3047.png3065.png3742.png3156.png - If you're against someone like Riven and want to build BC early on. This also explains getting Ninja Tabi's.
3074.png3156.png3111.png3065.png3071.png3143.png - If you're against an AP laner and AP mid laner or jungler. The Randuin's Omen is bought to reduce some damage from the enemy ADC.
3074.png3158.png3142.png3143.png3072.png3065.png - Useful when wanting to split push
3074.png3071.png3009.png3143.png3142.png3065.png - Another normal set up
3748.png3143.png3111.png3065.png3071.png3072.png - This is a build that is an example if you're extremely behind. You shouldn't even be getting the Hydra item first since the only defensive stat it gives is 400 HP. If you're this behind, get resistance first and then offensive items later. If you go for something like a Ravenous Hydra, you'll be very squishy and be useless in teamfights if the enemy decides to focus you
3074.png3071.png3009.png3068.png3022.png3026.png - Test build, please ignore
3074.png3111.png3742.png3065.png3078.png3072.png - This build uses the Trinity Force
3074.png3110.png3047.png3143.png3025.png3072.png - Hella armor against AD enemy comp
3074.png3071.png3009.png3022.png3143.png3142.png - "How to Stick to your Target 101"
3074.png3071.png3111.png3156.png3033.png3072.png - This is good against massive sustain champions like Cho'Gath, Vladimir, Swain, and Dr. Mundo. Getting Executioner's Calling early on is a given and Mortal Reminder can be finish later on

3100.png3089.png3023.png3027.png3020.png3040.png - Don't go AP Fiora as the only AP scaling Fiora has is her W, which has a VERY long cooldown.

VS

Aatrox

Easy

Block Aatrox's knockup aatroxQ.png with your W fiorariposte.png and you'll be winning the lane easy peasy. Be aware of his ultimate aatroxR.png, which can kill you if you aren't prepared for it.

Grabbing Ignite 14.png is extremely beneficial if your jungler does not come to help. Otherwise, stick with Teleport. If the enemy Aatrox brings Ignite, try to get an advantage early on or you won't be able to 1v1 later.

VS

Akali

Easy

Fiora can Q fioraq.png Akali even when she is invisible inside her shroud akalismokebomb.png. Use this to your advantage. Block her ultimate with your W fiorariposte.png to negate damage.

VS

Anivia

Hard

A good Anivia player will make this matchup extremely difficult. You can block her stun flashfrost.png with your Riposte fiorariposte.png, but the harass from her Frostbite frostbite.png can be a bit too much.

Post-6, you won't be able to 1v1 her unless you want to take in a lot of damage. Grab a lot of lifesteal and magic resistance if you want to counter this.

Get a Hexdrinker ASAP. Build QSS later on if you can't use your W properly.

VS

Annie

Easy

Very easy. Block her stun anniepassive.png with your W fiorariposte.png.

VS

Azir

Easy

Another fairly easy match up. Azir has no sustain and will need to recall in order to keep up with your sustain and damage. Try to build Hexdrinker 3155.png as well since he can get bursty later on.

VS

Brand

Medium

The harass from Brand can be a little bit too much. Make sure to get a Hexdrinker 3155.png early on and block his stun brandblaze.png with your Riposte fiorariposte.png.

VS

Cassiopeia

Easy

Her damage is not that good early on compared to Fiora's. Harass her in lane and you'll be fine. Make sure to use your Riposte fiorariposte.png against Cassiopeia's ultimate cassiopeiapetrifyinggaze.png.

VS

Cho'Gath

Medium

Cho'Gath's sustain beats Fiora's, but damage-wise, Fiora beats Cho'Gath. Try to stun him when he knocks you up rupture.png and get some good damage in.

If you can correctly predict Cho'Gath's ultimate feast.png and block it with your W fiorariposte.png, then you'll be good to go.

VS

Darius

Medium

The trick to this lane is to play passively under your tower. From there, you can safely trade. If Darius wants to dive you, he'll get tower aggroed very early due to his passive dariuspassive.png, therefore taking in a lot more damage. Getting early sustain is very helpful in this matchup.

Riposte his W dariusnoxiantacticsonh.png instead of his pull. You block the additional damage from his W and can chase him or run away from him a lot easier since you blocked the slow as well. Stunning his E dariusaxegrabcone.png is possible, but it is definitely harder to pull off than blocking his pull.

VS

Dr. Mundo

Easy

Teleport 12.png and Ignite 14.png work pretty well in this lane. He'll be able to harass you with his Q infectedcleavermissilecast.png which slows you, meaning getting in those autoattacks will be a lot harder.

VS

Fiora

Medium

When going against another Fiora, BE AGGRESSIVE. The more aggressive Fiora player will win lane, and a kill can mean the difference between losing and winning a lane.

Use your Riposte fiorariposte.png to block the enemy Fiora's Q fioraq.png or Bladework's fioraflurry.png critical damage (second autoattack).

VS

Gangplank

Easy

Dodge his barrels and you should be fine. You could also negate his passive gangplankpassive.png or his barrels raisemorale.png with your W fiorariposte.png, which saves you out on a good chunk of HP.

VS

Garen

Medium

A smart Garen can bait out your W when he goes in to Q garenslash3.png you, then proceed to use his E garenbladestorm.png and outtrade you. After 6, Garen can also silence you before he ults, preventing you from using your Riposte.

If he builds straight armor, it'll be a little bit tougher than usual to kill him. Make sure to proc your vitals as much as you can, and keep using your Q to prevent Garen from activating his passive.

VS

Gnar

Easy

Very easy, especially when he goes into his Mega Gnar form. Gnar players will tend to go onto you when they've turned into Mega Gnar and immediately stun. Parry the stun with your Riposte fiorariposte.png and you will be able to deal a good amount of damage in the 1.5 seconds.

Make sure to dodge Gnar's Q gnarQ.png, which is his only form of harassing safely. If Mini Gnar gets into his auto attack range to you, use that to your advantage and go aggressive because he is very squishy. Block his third passive on his W with your Riposte.

VS

Hecarim

Medium

Hecarim's Q hecarimrapidslash.png is very annoying to most, if not all, melee champions, including Fiora. Get sustain against him or you will have a very hard time.

Try to stun him when he tries to knock you back with his E hecarimramp.png or tries to use his ultimate hecarimult.png onto you.

VS

Heimerdinger

Medium

He will push to your lane very quickly. Trading against him will be easy, but before you get your Tiamat 3077.png, you're going to have a difficult time against Heimerdinger.

Don't forget to block his stun ch1concussiongrenade.png with your Riposte fiorariposte.png.

VS

Irelia

Easy

Very easy matchup for Fiora. Predict Irelia's stun ireliaequilibriumstrike.png with your Riposte fiorariposte.png and you'll be good to go.

Building some health items such as an early Phage 3044.png (after other core items) can help you stay alive after a 1v1.

VS

Jarvan IV

Easy

Block his knockup jarvanivdragonstrike.png with your Riposte fiorariposte.png. Other than that, you outdamage him. Very easy lane.

You can also try to block the damage from his ultimate jarvanivcataclysm.png, if you can correctly predict it.

VS

Jax

Medium

Pre-6, you can block his stun jaxcounterstrike.png and win a trade. Post-6, however, and he can outdamage you with his autoattacks. Keep this in mind when you have this matchup.

A good Jax will wait for you to use Riposte early on and stun you later. Jax is only able to block for 2 seconds and stun after the first second has passed. Your W lasts 0.75 seconds, so Jax will have only 0.25 seconds to stun you if you timed your Riposte properly.

Some Jax players will always stun early, others will wait until the very end, and some will do both. Timing your W is really important in this matchup, which is why I upgraded the difficulty from easy to medium.

VS

Jayce

Medium

A good Jayce player will kite back from you so that you can't use your Q fioraq.png on him. Try to stun him with Riposte when he knocks you back with his E jayceE.png.

If a Jayce goes aggressive and switches to his melee form, duel him then. If he goes to his range form, wait until he has used his Q so that you don't take the hit.

VS

Karma

Medium

Her poke can be annoying, and she can easily kite you. Pretty hard matchup if you're against a person who knows good Karma, but very easy if they are a bad Karma player.

VS

Karthus

Easy

Decently easy matchup. His wall wallofpain.png can make it easy for him to kite you, but other than that, it should be simple to just Q fioraq.png in and win trades.

VS

Kassadin

Easy

Kassadin's very easy since he is an AP melee. You'll be able to win trades better than him.

VS

Kayle

Easy

Blocking Kayle's Q kayleQ.png will negate her slow and will let you pull off more autoattacks. You can still activate your ultimate fioradance.png when Kayle uses hers kayleR.png, but your damage will not go through. You can still heal and gain movement speed from hitting the Vitals.

VS

Kennen

Hard

Kennen has very good harass against you. Even if you block his passive's stun kennenpassive.png, the harass can get overwhelming. Build Hexdrinker 3155.png, dodge his abilities, and try to punish him whenever he goes in to CS.

Kennen is arguably one of the hardest counters to Fiora. Parrying his passive is very difficult and even then you wouldn't be able to do much. Stunning with your Riposte will also not do much because his range and mobility lets him escape very easily.

This match-up will almost always be guaranteed to go in Kennen's favor unless he is not aggressive and is scared of you.

VS

Lissandra

Easy

Her Q lissandraQ.png has a shorter range than other forms of harass. Abuse this by going in with your own Q fioraq.png and dodge her snare lissandraW.png with your Riposte fiorariposte.png.

VS

Lulu

Medium

Lulu can burst you in a short amount of time, but it uses up a lot of mana. Survive through her harass, time your Riposte fiorariposte.png against her polymorph luluw.png, and you're going to be able to make it through this lane.

VS

Malphite

Hard

Early on, you will be able to outdamage Malphite. Make sure your hit your Vitals and try to get an early kill. After level 6 however, he will be able to easily kill you with the assistance of the enemy jungler. Keep this in mind.

Malphite is a hard counter to most AD melee champions. Proc your Vitals and get lots of lifesteal.

If you can't manage to win lane against him, get some kills from team fights or gank another lane.

VS

Maokai

Easy

Time your Riposte fiorariposte.png against his snare maokaiunstablegrowth.png. He has good sustain, so you may have trouble early on.

VS

Nasus

Easy

Early on, you should aim to block his Wither wither.png and try to be aggressive, or freeze under your tower so you can deny farm from him.

Later in the game, you'll have a hard time if you're not fed. You may need to parry his Q siphoningstrikenew.png as well.

VS

Nidalee

Easy

Very easy matchup. Dodge her spears and play aggressive. If she lands a spear on you, make sure to parry her Cougar Form's W and Q damage.

VS

Olaf

Medium

Olaf can be tricky when he's at low HP. Watch out for any surprise burst damage from a Q+E combo olafaxethrowcast.pngolafrecklessstrike.png or when he uses W olaffrenziedstrikes.png at low HP. Get lifesteal to counter this.

VS

Pantheon

Hard

Arguably one of the best early game harassers in the game, and one of the more difficult matchups for Fiora. Even a decent Pantheon player can win against a good Fiora player. Build Cloth Armor to reduce some damage from his Q pantheon_throw.png. His passive pantheonpassive.png blocks Fiora's Lunge fioraq.png and can be annoying. This lets him easily win any early trades.

You can ask the jungler to come help you. Pantheon has no escapes other than his summoner spells which makes him very easy to gank if overextended.

If you can't time your Riposte fiorariposte.png correctly against his stun pantheon_leapbash.png, you will certainly have a difficult time in this lane.

After laning phase, he scales less and you will be able to kill him easier then.

VS

Poppy

Easy
She's pretty easy to trade against. Poppy blocks a lot of damage with her passive poppypassive.png, but her kit is pretty simple and is easy to work around. If she attempts to knock you into a wall with her E poppyheroiccharge.png, try to parry it.

VS

Renekton

Hard

This is very easy to say that it will be difficult for Fiora to win in this matchup. Parry his stun renektonpreexecute.png and try to come back from that. His Q's renektoncleave.png sustain can be a bit annoying in lane.

VS

Riven

Medium

A good Riven player > A good Fiora player

Riven can instantly use her W rivenmartyr.png to give you little to no reaction time to use your Riposte fiorariposte.png. Riven can then use her third Q  riventricleave.png to knock you up, giving her a successful trade. This is assuming that you're playing against a smart Riven player.

Parrying Riven's W correctly can get you a very winnable trade. Try to poke her with your Q fioraq.png, and don't let her bait your Riposte.

Overall, this is more of a skill matchup. It will be a very close laning phase for either player. Play it safe so you don't snowball her.

VS

Rumble

Easy

Decently easy matchup. Build some form of sustain and a Hexdrinker 3155.png to counter him.

VS

Ryze

Medium

Be aware of Ryze's passive ryzepassive.png. Post-6, Ryze can very easily win a 1v1. Build a Hexdrinker 3155.png!

Stay behind minions to block his Q overload.png damage. Correctly parrying his snare runeprison.png can snag you an easy kill.

VS

Shen

Hard
Shen can trade better with his Q shenvorpalstar.png auto attacks and the shield that he can create with his W shenfeint.png. If he plays aggressive, try to poke with your Q and hit his vitals.

Parry his taunt shenshadowdash.png.

VS

Teemo

Medium

Teemo can easily kite you and outdamage you early on.

Parry his blind blindingdart.png. Your Level 5-6 will be stronger than his, try to use this to your advantage.

VS

Tryndamere

Hard

Fiora is hard-countered by autoattack champions such as Tryndamere 23.png. Your Riposte fiorariposte.png can only block damage for 0.75 seconds, which is not enough for champions like Tryndamere.

If the enemy Tryndamere brings Ignite 14.png, be careful for any Level 2 all-ins. This lane is very annoying if he even pulls off one critical strike on you. Get some early jungler help in order to keep up with the lane.

VS

Wukong

Medium

You can Lunge fioraq.png onto Wukong even if he's invisible (given that your in range for it to hit).

Correctly parrying Wukong's ultimate monkeykingspintowin.png will negate the knockup and get you a good advantage.

Early on, Wukong can pull off a surprising amount of damage. Don't underestimate a Wukong with Ignite at Level 1, because he can chunk your HP quickly.

VS

Yasuo

Easy

Pretty easy to parry Yasuo's Q yasuoQ.png knockup. You may have to react faster if he pulls off a Q+E yasuoQ.pngyasuoE.png combo. Try to go aggressive when he doesn't have stacks for his Q knockup.

Why should you play Fiora, and when should you? Back to Top

Fiora is an AD bruiser much like Riven and Irelia. She can hard carry if played right and output a lot of damage while taking little damage. The passive lets her whittle down tanks easily. Her role in a teamfight should be to go for the enemy ADC or mainly whoever should be killed first. Fiora can chase enemies with her Q and slow them down with her E, making escapes away from Fiora difficult.

Before her rework, Fiora was one of those easy to carry champions that could snowball out of control. Now, she's about the same level with Riven/Irelia where you can carry the game if played correctly.

Fiora is played best when another person is able to carry the game alongside you. There should also be a Tank on your team, which will most likely be the Support or Jungler. If there isn't a Tank then your team composition is very squishy and you won't last team fights very long unless you get ahead in the early game.
