Summoner Spells Back to Top

4.png  Flash is great at chasing down kills, dodging projectiles, surviving an ambush by the enemy jungler, and surprising the enemy when they are low health.

12.png  Teleport is extremely important. Fiora is really good at split pushing, but has trouble early on in laning phase. With Teleport, she doesn't have those problems and can make cross map plays.

14.png 3.png  Ignite and Exhaust are great to cheese with in solo queue. Ignite or Exhaust can help in some match ups such as Tryndamere, Vladimir, Pantheon, and Renekton, but Fiora loses either the ability to Flash or Teleport. (Not Recommended)

New Runes Back to Top

Grasp%20of%20the%20Undying.png?width=64Fiora wants to go take this rune if she wants to survive a tough lane that also has a jungler such as 64.png Lee Sin, 121.png Kha'Zix, 141.png Kayn, etc with strong ganks. Fiora must go 1054.png Doran's Shield 99% of the time. She will not do nearly as much damage as she'd want to, but the poking magic damage is good into tanks. Fiora can still scale and do damage with items, but surviving lane is the main goal. Her jungler should stay away from this lane, unless they are positive their damage can kill them alone. Fiora's damage is still there, but not nearly as much as.

13003d6fa9393a112.png?width=64Fiora wants to go this rune if she thinks she can get early kills and snowball, especially into squishy lanes. The difference from Grasp%20of%20the%20Undying.png?width=32Grasp of the Undying is that Fiora cannot just poke everytime it is available. She must actively use the bonus attack damage with her autos, fiorae.png Bladework, and 3077.png Tiamat active. The enemy laner will punish Fiora if she tries the poking trades with this rune. Late game she will be a monster if she got fed, but when behind, the damage is definitely still there if played properly, but not if the other team is super fed, then it will feel like no damage.

Duelist's Dance (Passive)

fiorapassive.png Duelist's Dance deals 2.5% of Fiora's opponent's maximum health in true damage when hitting vitals, and gains 4.5% per 100 Bonus AD. fiorapassive.png Duelist's Dance is a scaling passive that requires AD, but is still rather strong if Fiora is not built full damage.

fioraq.png

Lunge (Q)

fioraq.png Lunge should always be the first ability to grab and max. When Fiora uses fioraq.png Lunge, it is mainly to poke vitals, gap close, running from an ambush, or for positioning purposes. The cooldown and scaling are very important to getting the most benefit from fioraq.png Lunge. With damage increase from masteries, dragon buffs, along with sheen procs, fioraq.png Lunge will be the best way to catch an enemy off guard with pokes.

fiorariposte.png

Riposte (W)

fiorariposte.png Riposte should be the second ability to grab, but the third to max. This is Fiora's outplay tool. If Fiora fails her fiorariposte.png Riposte, she can die to her lane opponent, die to an ambush, or even lose lane all together. It is very important to save fiorariposte.png Riposte for any form of CC that may give Fiora or the enemy an upper hand in the duel. fiorariposte.png Riposte should be used for it's stun, of course, but it is not a bad idea to use it as an Attack Speed or Movement Speed slow as well. Not all champions have CC that can be reflected, and some you want to reflect a burst of damage for maximum efficiency.

fioraflurry.png

Bladework (E)

fioraflurry.png Bladework should be the third ability to grab, but the second to max. This is Fiora's auto-cancelling tool. The slow is inconsequential after laning phase, but is pretty decent early on in lane. Fiora maxes fioraflurry.png Bladework second because the increase in critical damage offers a lot of damage to Fiora's trades, and helps get kills on the enemy. The low cooldown on fioraflurry.png Bladework means Fiora can take towers faster with the auto-cancel mechanic, or get the most efficient damage onto an enemy.

fioradance.png

Grand Challenge (R)

fioradance.png Grand Challenge will naturally be grabbed at level 6, level 11, and level 16. Fiora's ultimate is pretty self explanatory, where she gains movement speed while near the target of fioradance.png Grand Challenge, and does a lot of true damage to the champion with this debuff. The healing field requires either hitting all vitals, which requires precision and discipline to achieve in less than 8 seconds, or if her target dies with at least one vital hit.

Item Specifics

Starting Items

1055.png Doran's Blade

Fiora has trouble surviving lane and having some extra health and life steal, she can beat most champions with just this item early on. With the runes that are listed in this guide, Fiora also needs some extra early laning attack damage to kill enemies.

1083.png Cull

Cull offers no health, less attack damage, and no lifesteal. Fiora also has a tough time farming early on in a lot of match ups, so she doesn't benefit from this item's passive in any way.

1054.png Doran's Shield

Fiora is not very fond of items that offer no offensive stats. This item is perfect, however, into tough match ups such as 80.png Pantheon, 58.png Renekton or 17.png Teemo.

1036.png Long Sword

Fiora's best friend, the item that builds into all of Fiora's other items, is pretty amazing for her to buy. When starting this item first, you must buy 2031.png Refillable Potion as well. This is great for rushing 3071.png The Black Cleaver, 3074.png Ravenous Hydra, or 3078.png Trinity Force.

1029.png Cloth Armor

Fiora would not benefit early on from having more defensive stats. She really needs to have offensive stats in order to win lane, and this item only offers small amounts of armor.

1033.png Null-Magic Mantle

Fiora would not benefit early on from having more defensive stats. She really needs to have offensive stats in order to win lane, and this item only offers small amounts of magic resistance. Even if she lanes against a high base magic damage champion like Vladimir, this would not save her from burst, killing him before he kills her is what is important.

1001.png Boots of Speed

Fiora needs boots, but not early game. fiorapassive.png Duelist's Dance offers her enough movement speed, she just needs offensive stats to really win her lane. Fiora will eventually get boots, but not until they are absolutely necessary.

2033.png Corrupting Potion

Fiora benefits greatly from this item, simply because in most match ups she gets poked fairly hard and needs to get back to full health as fast as possible. The only downside to this item is the lack of early game threat. When the Fiora player is not comfortable and confident in her ability to lane tough match ups, this item is highly recommended to survive.

2031.png Refillable Potion

This item is much weaker than the other potion types, and upgrading this item is not gold efficient. However, if 1036.png Long Sword start is needed to rush 3071.png The Black Cleaver, 3074.png Ravenous Hydra, or 3078.png Trinity Force, they you have to start this too.

2003.png Health Potion

Fiora doesn't mind this item. It is not as strong as the other potions due to gold efficiency, but with life steal, Fiora can opt to not buy more of these easily. She can start with this item and then stop buying them pretty early.

Boots

3111.png Mercury's Treads

Fiora values tenacity to greatly reduce all the crowd control Fiora can't parry or redirect in team fights. She would typically build this into most match ups simply cause crowd control is so prevalent in all games, but it is mainly built into magic heavy enemies.

3047.png Ninja Tabi

This item can save Fiora in sticky situations when the enemy marksman is rather strong. Fiora does not typically build this item when crowd control is more prevalent, but there are situations to build it even then. If Fiora is laning against basic attack heavy enemies, it is not a bad idea to build this.

3009.png Boots of Swiftness

Fiora has built in movement speed, but sometimes she needs more than 3071.png Black Cleaver's Movement Speed passive, fioradance.png Grand Challenge's passive movement speed, or fiorapassive.png Duelist's Dance movement speed in order to catch her target. When Fiora is really fed, picking this item up can help kill squishy enemies even easier.

3158.png Ionian Boots of Lucidity

The cooldown reduction and summoner spell reduction are both great stats on their own, but typically Fiora will not build this item because the defensive boots have better value.

3006.png Berserker's Greaves

Fiora doesn't value attack speed as highly as other champions do. It is very rare that Fiora is fed enough to make these better than 3009.png Boots of Swiftness.

3117.png Boots of Mobility

Fiora went shopping for boots one day and saw these glowing boots on the shelf. She asked the shop keeper if they gave her defense to survive her foes or offense to kill them faster. The shop keeper said, "No, they are to run from them faster." Fiora laughed and walked away. She doesn't need an item that only gives extra movement speed, especially since she is in combat most of the time.

3020.png Sorcerer's Shoes

Fiora would only build this boot in her weaker state called "AP Fiora". This boot is not good for her at all. Her only source of magic damage is fiorariposte.png Riposte.

Core Offense Components

1053.png Vampiric Scepter

Fiora happens to be one of the only melee champions that has auto attacks designed perfectly to synergize with life steal. This item is really good on her early game, and the more life steal she has, the more survivability she has as well. This builds into 3074.png Ravenous Hydra, 3072.png Bloodthirster, 3812.png Death's Dance, and 3139.png Mercurial Scimitar.

3077.png Tiamat

Fiora relies extremely heavily on this item and one of it's completed forms. That's not a good thing, she has really bad wave clear and leaves herself really squishy early in the game because of buying this item. It's important to have at least Tiamat built before any other item. This builds into 3074.png Ravenous Hydra and 3748.png Titanic Hydra.

1037.png Pickaxe

Fiora loves this item becaue it gives a good amount of attack damage for little gold. There's no going wrong grabbing one of these. This builds into 3074.png Ravenous Hydra, 3812.png Death's Dance, and 3139.png Mercurial Scimitar.

3133.png Caulfield's Warhammer

Fiora loves cooldown reduction and attack damage, so naturally this finds its way into her build. It's better than the previous item, but is more expensive. This builds into 3812.png Death's Dance.

3044.png Phage

Fiora adores this item because the passive synergizes with fiorapassive.png Duelist's Dance really well. There's no going wrong with some attack damage and health. This builds into 3071.png Black Cleaver and 3078.png Trinity Force.

3057.png Sheen

Fiora didn't use to buy this item because she didn't need the cooldown reduction, mana, or sheen proc; however, when she was nerfed, Fiora found this item a lot more appealing. It adds a good amount of damage to her composition. This builds into 3025.png Iceborn Gauntlet and 3078.png Trinity Force.

3101.png Stinger

The cooldown reduction and attack speed is very appealing in games where Fiora is fed, and while she doesn't need attack speed, it is not a terrible stat overall. This builds into 3078.png Trinity Force.

1038.png B. F. Sword

Fiora loves the attack damage this item provides, but due to her nerfs, she can't get this item until very late into the game. It would make her too squishy. This builds into 3072.png The Bloodthirster.

3140.png Quicksilver Sash

Fiora typically wouldn't need to buy this item if she uses fiorariposte.png Riposte effeciently. However, there are some situations where the enemy has multiple forms of crowd control on each champion, so this item will become crucial. This builds into 3139.png Mercurial Scimitar.

Core Offense Items

3074.png Ravenous Hydra

There are no questions asked that this is the best item for Fiora. In some instances, Fiora can finish this item after 3078.png Trinity Force or  3071.png Black Cleaver, but it is not common. The life steal and attack damage are crucial to Fiora, and she needs the passive to farm effectively while splitting.

3078.png Trinity Force

The item that gives the most stats shoved into one, if Fiora is against a bunch of squishies, this item feels amazing. The cooldown reduction, attack speed, and 3057.png Sheen auto are really strong.

3071.png Black Cleaver

This item provides health, attack damage, cooldown reduction, and an amazing passive that amplifies her main source of damage--physical. Although she does have a ton of true damage, Fiora does mainly physical damage.

3025.png Iceborne Gauntlet

This item can take the place of 3078.png Trinity Force when the enemy is really attack damage heavy, but is not typically necessary.

3812.png Death's Dance

This item is much easier to build into than say 3072.png The Bloodthister. Although, this item is mainly when the enemy is not attack damage heavy and when burst is more effective.

3156.png Maw of Malmortious

This item  is preferred if the enemy has a lot of magic damage, the passive shield is really good into them. The passive when in effect also gives life steal which is really good. The attack damage also makes this item a lot more appealing as well.

3142.png Youmuu's Ghostblade

The lethality is alright, and can be a great snowball item, but as far as third items go, this is a pretty poor item spike.

3026.png Guardian's Angel

Fiora is meant to do as much damage as possible in team fights, and if the enemy focuses her, she can focus on doing damage and her team can do damage while she is waiting to come back in for the clean up. This item is pretty pointless if the enemy has a magic damage burst champion, since it is instantly useless if she dies and loses a lot of value.

3072.png The Bloodthirster

The life steal and attack damage is really crucial to Fiora, due to 3074.png Ravenous Hydra being core, but it is typically a fourth to last item to be extra damage and powerful shield.

3139.png Mercurial Scimitar

The cost for this item and 3072.png The Bloodthirster are very similar, so it is all dependent on how much crowd control and focus the enemy has on Fiora.

Alternate Offense Items

3814.png Edge of Night

Fiora might buy this item if she needs MR and intends on diving onto a reactive mage, someone like 85.png Kennen. However, the nature of this item doesn't really suit a skirmisher like Fiora and is not recommended.

3053.png Sterak's Gage

An item like 3156.png Maw of Malmortious is a better item for burst from magic damage, and offers attack damage--the passives don't stack anymore.

Alternate Defense Items

3065.png Spirit Visage

The passive on this item is really good since it has synergy with fiorapassive.png Duelist's Dance, fioradance.png Grand Challenge, and 3074.png Ravenous Hydra. Although, Fiora is much better off building 3025.png Iceborn Gauntlet for how strong it is compared to the other items.

3742.png Deadman's Cape

Fiora typically doesn't build any defense item that gives her no offensive stats. The movement speed increase is pretty amazing for Fiora though, and a tankier Fiora could survive some lanes if the Fiora is having trouble such as 80.png Pantheon.

3068.png Sunfire Cape

Fiora typically doesn't build any defense item that gives her no offensive stats. This is one of the few that she can consider that offers some offense, although it is not as efficient. The magic damage aura is not amazing for Fiora, but a tankier Fiora could survive some lanes if the Fiora is having trouble such as 80.png Pantheon.

3143.png Randuin's Omen

At most this item might be built into someone like 23.png Tryndamere or if the enemy marksman has built a lot of critical strike chance and is really fed.

3075.png Thornmail

Honestly, this item is a wild card. It can be good into some marksman, but other times not that useful. The grievous wounds is not terrible, but Fiora will rarely build this.

Invalid Offense Items

3748.png Titanic Hydra

Fiora once upon a time built this instead of 3074.png Ravenous Hydra because it was extremely overpowered. Now it is not recommended in any situation.

3147.png Duskblade of Draktharr

The problem is that the items that this builds out of are not cost efficient at any point when they finish into this item. The passive is not very good for Fiora because fiorapassive.png Duelist's Dance is the main source of her burst, and Fiora loses out on any of the other survivability items there are to get that burst onto enemies.

3153.png Blade of the Ruined King

The passive and active do not make up for the fact that this item provides a lot of attack speed and very little attack damage. She does a lot of true damage the more attack damage she has based on max health of the enemy, so the passive on this item is weaker than fiorapassive.png Duelist's Dance.

3022.png Frozen Mallet

The health, attack damage, and passive are really appealing, but other items do this item more effectively, such as 3025.png Iceborn Gauntlet.

3036.png Lord Dominik's Regards 3033.png Mortal Reminder

This item is a much weaker version of 3071.png Black Cleaver for someone like Fiora. The passive is not worth the raw stats at any point.

3124.png Guinsoo's Rageblade

Fiora would not benefit from this item because it provides very little attack damage, and she doesn't benefit from the ability power, attack speed, or passive. The cost of this item is way too high to be good for Fiora.

3004.png Manamune

Fiora doesn't experience a lot of situations where she runs out of mana when properly using abilities. This item is too expensive for very little attack damage. In order for this to be any good, Fiora would need to build a 3070.png Tear of the Goddess early on, but that means she does less damage and overall is weaker at every stage in the game.

3031.png Infinity Edge 3508.png Essence Reaver 3087.png Statikk Shiv 3046.png Phantom Dancer

fioraflurry.png Bladework's passive makes the first auto dealt by fioraflurry.png Bladework fixed. Although the second auto can be amplified, this item is not cost effective for Fiora, and she gets her wave clear from 3074.png Ravenous Hydra.

3091.png Wit's End

The only ability that would benefit from the magic resistance shred would be fiorariposte.png Riposte. This item is not cost effective for Fiora.

Invalid Defense Items

3110.png Frozen Heart

Fiora should not consider this item simply because 3025.png Iceborn Gauntlet provides similar stats to this item, but with offense added onto the item with the 3057.png Sheen passive. 3025.png Iceborn Gauntlet costs 100g less and gives Fiora extra damage. There's no point to build this item instead.

3512.png Zz'Rot Portal 3056.png Ohmwrecker 3083.png Warmog's Armor 3800.png Righteous Glory

Fiora should not consider these items because of how efficient 3026.png Guardian's Angel is in comparison. It costs less gold and provides similar stats with a much better passive. The damage that the voidlings do is based on maximum health, and Fiora does not build health.

Fiora - The Grand Duelist Back to Top

Fiora-rework-e1444386900945.png

The most feared duelist in all Valoran, Fiora is as renowned for her brusque manner and cunning mind as she is for the speed of her bluesteel rapier. Born to House Laurent in the Kingdom of Demacia, Fiora took control of the family from her father in the wake of a scandal that nearly destroyed them. House Laurent's reputation was sundered, but Fiora bends her every effort to restore her family's honor and return them to their rightful place among the great and good of Demacia.

Pros

  • Very fun champion that can make flashy plays
  • Carries very hard and can snowball easily
  • One of the strongest split pushers
  • Has an extremely strong late game
  • Amazing mobility and can escape ganks

Cons

  • Fairly weak laning phase
  • Really bad into poke champions
  • Can fall behind really easily
  • Really hard to team fight with her
  • Requires fast timing and good ping to get the most benefit

Laning Back to Top

Start Items

1055.png 2003.png

This the optimal start because of the health, attack damage, and life steal.

1036.png 2031.png

I've been starting this a lot more recently to rush 3077.png Tiamat or 3044.png Phage.

First Back

> 500g 1036.png 1028.png 2003.png

< 900g 1053.png 1037.png

< 1250g 3077.png 3044.png

When backing for an item, all of these are good to buy on the first back. Typically, 1053.png Vamp Scepter take priority over the others, unless 3077.png Tiamat is needed to wave clear a proxy champion like 27.png Singed or to remove passive's such as 157.png Yasuo, 86.png Garen, or 54.png Malphite.

Losing Lane

Fiora wants to play extremely passive when losing lane and focus on farming. If the enemy has poke, she is not going to have a fun time laning. She should let the enemy get the first tower and get her jungler to gank if they push any further. As long as she manages to farm up for at least a 3074.png Ravenous Hydra, she can get back into the game with 12.png Teleport plays.

Winning Lane

Even though Fiora can win lane and dominate, that does not merit the freedom to do whatever she wants. When Fiora gets ahead, she needs to keep her lead by zoning the enemy from creeps, warding all access points to be ganked from, and only diving if the enemy is low on health. She can easily lose her lead and give the lane and/or game back to the enemy by getting cocky.

Fiora loves poking melee champions without ranged abilities. She does a lot of damage to squishy champions like 92.png Riven or 39.png Irelia, so if she pokes them down, then all in on them, even if she misses the fiorariposte.png Riposte--Fiora can kill them pretty quickly. However, it is easy for them to get the upperhand in a straight 100-100 duel if misplayed.

Important Tricks Back to Top

It is imperative to hit all vitals of Fiora's fiorar.png Grand Challenge as fast as possible, otherwise the true damage and heal will not occur, and it is easy to lose duels.

About Me Back to Top

jzVbwRU

My name is Sean Sacred. I started playing League of Legends near the end of 2014, when Aatrox just came out, and placed Silver 2 my first time playing ranked in Season 4. I climbed to Platinum in Season 5, taking about 2500 games total. In the first week and a half of Season 6, I climbed from Silver 3 placement to Platinum with just Fiora. As of March 25, 2017, I am official Diamond for the first time in my League career. I have reached 1 million mastery points with Fiora. I wanted to strictly play Fiora in Solo Q only, but during my Diamond promotions I was forced to play Camille to avoid losing them.

I had to move states and no longer could play League consistently from April to July, and by then, I had decayed to Platinum and was welcomed to a meta that didn't favor Fiora, nerfs, bramble, and being rusty. I hope to get back to Diamond next season when I hopefully get better internet again.

I am a Moderator of /r/FioraMains if you ever want to visit the Sub-Reddit to have discussions with other Fiora players. I've been a Fiora Main ever since she was reworked. Before Fiora was reworked, I played a couple games on her and never really grasped how she worked. I was part of the group of people that thought Blade Waltz was an unhealthy ultimate, and her split pushing was unmatched, impossible to beat even. I couldn't really get into old Fiora, but once she was reworked and I tried her; I realized I really liked her repertoire and wanted to get to know her more.

The best part about Fiora for me is the outplay potential. Although I have a lot to improve mechanics-wise, game knowledge, how not to tilt, etc... I believe that no matter how good or bad any of us may be on Fiora in some of our games, we can all get a satisfying outplay at some point and really feel the connection with Fiora on a cellular level.
