Summoner Spells Back to Top

14.png

I take Ignite and Flash for 80% of my games. No matter if mid or top.

12.png

I take Teleport in about 20% of my games. Most of those games are actually midlane against champions like 112.png 61.png)

Some explanations

You need 4.png ! It is the most important spell on Fizz. Even if you say "I feel good without flash because of my E spell". That's good if you feel so, but taking flash will you make feel even better. Flash is the key to every outplay or combo with Fizz. It allows you to do the E + 4.png        4.png + Q  and simply 4.png + R to get a safe R on the enemy.

Beside that, it's not season 2 or 3 anymore, where some games might have allowed you to take another spell in trade of flash. Nowaday, all the new champions, reworks, abilities and even items did speed up the pace of the game and in particular the fights. Also, 6 season into league, players are getting more skilled. They know how to punish champions without flash. Either in laning or through the whole game. So my advice is: take flash in 100% of your games.

But why do I take 14.png in most of the games? Because I can. This is actually an "I feel more confortable with this spell" case. I already know how to trade and all in in laning phase with new fizz. Well, at least I think so. To be honest, when to take 14.png or 12.png depends on your personal playstyle and your confidence. Try both in some games until you know which one you have to take.

But if you really want to hear my way when it comes to decide between those 2 spells, I got 4 steps for you basically.

1. Am I up against a meele (in midlane)? If so, take 14.png (except 131.png, see step 2 and 3)
2. Am I up against a champion that is relatively tanky, has good early trading and a good amount of sustain (e.g. 78.png 57.png 2.png), take 12.png

3. Am I up against ranged champions that can poke you and outtrade you even if you all, in take 12.png (e.g. 112.png because he will always win trades with his Q + shield + W slow/stun, 127.png is actually "all in-able" with 14.png pre level 6, but when she has ult, it will get very hard for you to kill her, 61.png same as Viktor, she has heavy low cooldown poke and a shield that will make her win all trades).

4. Am I up against a "heavy" self heal champion, take 14.png (only examples nowadays are 8.png 266.png 114.png 5.png 23.png)

Masteries Back to Top

Not much to say hear.

Thunderlords is still the best keystone mastery for full AP Fizz, because it adds a good amount of burst.

I still like to take Precision instead of Intelligence, even though armor pen got reworked to leathality. The magic penetration is still good and I never had the feeling that 5% additional cooldown reduction helped or changed my playstyle in any kind of way.

Fresh Blood instead of Feast is possible. If you are up against a champion that forced you to take 12.png, you always want to take Feast.

Bounty Hunter buff was huge. It is by far the best choice in this tier for Fizz. Double Edged Sword is too "edgy" in lane and Battle Trance is useless in late game when you want to oneshot very fast. Pre 6.22 Double Edged Sword was good, because it allowed you to clear caster minions faster with rank 5 fizzjump.png, but the health of caster minions got a big nerf in 6.22 anyways.

This is pretty standard nowadays.

In some meele matchups in mid or top, you can try to start fizzseastonepassive.png first. But think of the enemy level 1 spell at first. For example 23.png can just E on you and crit you to death at level 1 if you don't take fizzjump.png78.png can proc her passive shield and outtrade you with her Q if you try to use fizzseastonepassive.png on her at level 1. Against a 157.png that takes Q at level 1 take your fizzjump.png to dodge & re-engage when he uses the third hit.

However, before level 6, I put 2 points into fizzseastonepassive.png for better trading and all in, because it has less cd than fizzjump.png in early levels. And it is easier/safer to last hit in pre level 6 laning phase. Don't put 3 points into fizzseastonepassive.png, because it will delay your rank 5 fizzjump.png by 1 level (level 10 instead of level 9).

Just max fizzjump.png after you put 2 points into fizzseastonepassive.png for more and faster waveclear (since caster minion health nerf in 6.22, you can clear waves really fast with rank 5 fizzjump.png very early on). It also gives you a lot of mobility and you can go on sidelanes to splitpush with rank 5 E, due to the fast wave clear.

max fizzseastonepassive.png second and fizzpiercingstrike.png last. The damage of fizzseastonepassive.png is too important now. Before 6.22 I used to max Q second, because it lowered the cooldown from 10 seconds to 6. Though, with 6.22 the fizzpiercingstrike.png cooldown was decreased to 8 seconds at level 1, which is good already.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

I have tried a lot of different starting items through the whole season, but corruption potion was always my best friend. Maybe it's just me, but it gives you everything you need for your lane, before your first base. Health/Mana sustain and a little bit of damage as well.
If you have teleport and you are up against a heavy poke lane, then this might actually work out. All you need to do is, to farm a few waves, ignore the poke (unless you are about to die) and base for a corruption potion very early on, since you can use teleport to come back to lane.
Get double dorans, one dorans, one dark seal or one dorans and one dark seal on one of your first back pre level 6. It adds sustain and damage that will help you to all in. Don't buy those items if you already know you wanna go RoA.
Rod of Ages is actually becoming a good item on new Fizz. If you decide to go for it, buy a blasting wand or a catalyst on your first back. Catalyst actually has a nice synergy with your W, because whenever you last hit a minion with W, you gain 20% of the mana cost as health due to catalyst and most of the Mana is refunded too.

Core Items

To get to 40% cdr without cdr in runes, you need this build.

Situational Items

Go this instead of Abyssal with you are ok with 30% cdr only or if enemies don't have magic damage.
Go this if enemies have a lot of heal, for example Soraka. Since you will always go for Lichbane and Hourglas, you have to swap Ionia boots with Sorcerer's Shoes to not overcap 40% cdr.
Swap to this trinket at level 9 if you want to roam a lot
Swap to this trinket at level 9 if you want to splitpush a lot.
