Summoner Spells Back to Top

FSpells.png

4.png Flash is a very useful spell on 105.png Fizz. Without it, you are relying only on your fizze.png for engage, escape. Having flash gives you some extra safety in lane from the enemy jungler & also allows you to make riskier plays.

14.png Ignite offers extra lane pressure and I take in almost all of my 105.png games. It's also a great spell to take against self healing champions such as 8.png Vladimir or 50.png Swain14.pngIgnite working alongside your fizzw.png will give you some extra damage to burst carries down.

3.png Exhaust  can be a go-to item for playing against AD Assassins such as 238.png Zed or 91.png Talon. It's not a favourite of mine but it's definitely an option.

6.png Ghost will offer you some extra mobility, escape potential and engage. It is a great spell for chasing enemies down.

12.png Teleport can be used if you want to pressure other lanes, especially bot lane where you can one shot the enemy ADC. Just remind your bot lane to ward in the brushes.

New Runes Back to Top

FRunes.png

DOMINATION:

Electrocute.png?width=32 Electrocute:
Hitting a champion with 3 separate attacks or abilities in 3s deals bonus adaptive damage. This is a useful keystone on Fizz because he is an assassin that will naturally utilise this as he goes in for harass or a full engage. It suits his kit perfectly and I would pick it over the others in almost every situation.

Sudden%20Impact.png?width=32 Sudden Impact:
Gain a burst of Lethality and Magic Penetration after using dash, leap, blink or teleport. The slight increase in Lethality and Magic Pen is fantastic on Fizz and will certainly help you to get your job done on an all in (assassinating the enemy) or provide extra damage when you are harassing.

Eyeball%20Collection.png?width=32 Eyeball Collection:

Collect eyeballs for champion and ward takedowns. Gain permanent AD or AP, adaptive for each eyeball plus bonus upon collection completion. Fizz is an assassin and any extra bit of AP / AD is really going to help you to burst your target down. I prefer  Eyeball Collection over  Zombie Ward and  Ghost Poro because Fizz is all about assassinating. Play sensibly and ward as normal, enjoy the benefits of the extra stats granted from takedowns instead.

Ravenous%20Hunter.png?width=32 Ravenous Hunter:

Unique takedowns grant permanent healing from ability damage. Fizz can land quiet a bit of damage to a carry if he lands a full combo. The extra bit of healing can be enough to give you the last bit of health needed to escape right after a teamfight engage or tower dive.

PRECISION:

Coup%20De%20Grace.png?width=32 Coup De Grace:

Deal 10% more damage to champions who have less than 40% health. Additionally, takedowns grant an adaptive bonus of 9 Attack Damage or 15 Ability Power for 10 Seconds. Again, with Fizz you are playing an assassin. Anything that can offer you extra damage to burst down a carry is a great pick. I really like this on  Fizz, it truly is a nice bit of extra burst.

Triumph.png?width=32 Triumph:

Takedowns restore 15% of your missing health and grant an additional 25 Gold. Fantastic choice on Fizz really as it will offer you some survivability after going all in for an assassination. You quiet often need to dive deep into the back-line when playing  Fizz to take out a carry, manage to do this successfully and the extra 15% health gained for your takedown can be just what you need to make it back out alive. A low health  Fizz can always recall/reset - a dead Fizz is staring at a grey screen until he respawns.

FAbilities.png

fizz-abil.png

Your [Q] fizzq.png Urchin Strike is a great spell but you should never start with it. It is a single-targeted dash and can allow you to go through walls if you have vision on a close enough camp/enemy on the other side of it. Your  Seastone Trident will proc with your [Q] fizzq.png Urchin Strike. Don't max this ability, one point in it is enough throughout the game.

Generally I try to start with a point in [W] fizzw.png Seastone Trident. It is a good choice against melee champions but for ranged mages you may want to consider starting with fizze.png Playful / Trickster.

Your fizze.png Playful / Trickster  is pretty much your bread and butter ability. It can be used for engage, escape, gap-closing and general Troll Poll antics when fighting an enemy. It might be a good idea to start with a point in fizze.png Playful / Trickster  if you are playing against a ranged champion. This ability combined with  Flash allow for some serious plays and risky combo's.

Your ultimate [R] fizzr.png Chum The Waters is a skill shot & the further the ability is cast, the larger the shark will be increasing its slow, eruption radius and knock-back distance. Be sure to max it at levels 6, 11 and 16.

Keep an eye on who your target is though as your shark can be removed by 1.png Cleanse3140.png Quicksilver Sash3222.png Mikael's Crucibleferocioushowl.png Unbreakable Willgangplankw.png Remove Scurvygarenq.png Decisive Strikeevelynnw.png Dark Frenzyhighlander.png Highlander and olafragnarok.png Ragnarok.

If an enemy has 3102.png Banshee's Veil your shark will drop to the ground instead of sticking to the target. It will still appear and deal damage around the fish after the normal decay.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

    This is my preferred start!
This is a possible start if you need the extra mobility. EG: Against a skill-shot champion like Xerath, Orianna, Nidalee etc.. Fizz is fairly mobile though, so you shouldn't really need to start boots too often.
Falling Behind? If you are falling behind quiet badly to a strong AD or AP champion early in laning, you can consider rushing an Seekers Armguard or Null-Magic Mantle if needed. You can build them into a Zhony's Hourglass or Banshee's Veil.

Core Items

I consider Hextech Protobelt-01 and Lich bane to be Fizz's core items. The active on protobelt is a great gap-closer, it's useful for clearing minion waves, the CDR is great and the HP it gives can help you to survive riskier plays.
PREFERED BUILD: This is my ideal build, I try to aim towards this build in games. More explanation regarding items below.

Situational Items

I speak more about item choices in the section below.
I speak more about item choices in the section below.
FItems.png

3027.png Rod of Ages will definitely add some sustainability but I don't think it fits on a standard 'assassin' build for  Fizz. It will certainly help you to survive enemy engages but I think the lack of damage will likely hurt you more in terms of assassinating carries.

3152.png Hextech Protobelt-01 Great item for extra engage/disengage. Excellent item to wave clear with! And don't we all just love some extra cooldown reduction!

3151.png Liandry's Torment Against a very tanky team that has stacked MR,, go for it. It will definitely help a LOT!

3135.png Void Staff Great to have the extra Magic Pen.. A must have item really, even if the enemy is not stacking MR. It will add a lot of damage to your burst.

3165.png Morellonomicon In theory, an ideal item against Swain or Vladimir ... & the 20% CDR is tempting. However, on Fizz this item will leave you lacking raw damage output and you will need several spell rotations in order to secure a kill. I'm not really a fan of it.

3285.png  Luden's Echo If you want some extra burst / roaming ability or both. It's a great item if you're ahead in game.

3089.png Rabadon's Deathcap When you just need raw ability power, this is a great item. 120AP + 35% offers you amazing burst increase. This can be a big boost of damage when you are already stacked with ability power from other items.

3157.png Zhonya's Hourglass Great active that can save you countless times. You can engage deep into the enemy backline (carries) and you won't die instantly if you use your Zhonya's. This allows you to burst a carry down and get back out with your Troll Poll to safety. It really is important that you don't just die after killing a carry.

3102.png Banshee's Veil Gives 70 AP & 45 MR and also gives you a shield against an enemy ability. Nice to have the 10% CDR too. An excellent item for when you're matched against an AP heavy team.

3001.png Abyssal Mask is decent item to get against heavy AP Teams or if the enemy team has a lot of Magic Damage. It is not an ideal item on  Fizz but will certainly offer you some more survivability.

3116.png Rylai's Crystal Scepter is not a great item to buy on Fizz. Sure, it offers some HP and AP and the utility of it's slow is pretty nice but there are definitely better items to choose.

3041.png Mejai's Soulstealer is a fun item if you are far ahead and not really in danger of dying. Perhaps leave this item to the big boys :)

3026.png Guardian Angel can be useful if you think you need some extra armour and an extra life to try escape with or secure that kill on the backline in a team fight.

VS

Akali

Medium
This really is a skill match-up. You are both Melee Assassins. She will try to [Q] you every time you go to last hit minions. I like to keep a pink ward for skirmishes with her but I rarely see others do this anymore. Use the pink ward for her shroud only when you are all-in on her (with jungler help) if possible. It is possible for you to burst each-other down.

VS

Anivia

Easy

Her long range Auto-Attack can be annoying as hell and she is likely to abuse it. You are able to [E] over her wall. She is squishy and you can punish her if she misses her [Q] as this is her hard CC. Please remember her passive and don't dive the tower having tunnel vision for the low hp kill if it's up. Your ultimate will interrupt her ultimate in a duel.

VS

Annie

Hard

Annie's immobile and very predictable and you're highly mobile and able to duke her Ultimate. She is a hard matchu-up due to her insane burst damage and stuns. If she ults you and gets her stun off, it is highly likely that you will die. Try to E out of combat and re-evaluate the fight. Farm and Roam in this lane. Remember, Annie's stuns are not consumed if her Q spell doesn't hit you, example should you use E to avoid it.

VS

Azir

Easy

Azir is a squishy, medium-ranged mage. He will use his poke to bully you off your farm and out of lane. It's possible to trade with him using your Q+W combo and either use E defensively or land on him with it as you feel is necessary. Pre 6 you may have some trouble against him but after 6 he is easy picking. You can use your E to leap over his wall.

VS

Brand

Hard

Brand is very squishy but he will do a LOT of damage to you if he manages to land his combo. It is possible to stand behind minions to block his (Q). You can use your (E) in order to leap over his ultimate and stop it from moving to other targets. Try to out-roam him pre 6 and after level 6 he should be much easier to 100-0. Try to avoid his spells as much as you can and farm/out-roam until level 6

VS

Cassiopeia

Medium

This is a skill match-up. Try your best to out-roam her and you will need to out-play her. She will use her range advantage in order to zone you off your CS and bully you out of lane. You need to avoid her skill shots (Q) and (W), this can be easier said than done but your kit certainly gives you the ability. Her (W) will stop you being able to use your (E). After level 6 you should have the ability to 100-0 her, especially with some jungler help.

VS

Diana

Hard
Nightmare match-up! She has a shield, she get really tanky and once she hits level 6 you are in for a real tough time. You will have to dodge her (Q) during trades in order to negate some of her damage. Use your mobility to your advantage and try to out-roam her and get picks around the map. Farm as much as possible but be aware, this is a TOUGH match-up!

VS

Ekko

Medium

Dodge his (Q) and you will make this lane easier for yourself. Try to poke him down a bit before you attempt an all-in. Be aware of his ultimate as he can use this to escape or simply out-trade you. You can (E) out of his (E) if you need to, or you can use your (Q) on a minion/champion either.

VS

Gragas

Medium

Don't really see him in mid-lane anymore but you need to be careful against him. Pretty much a skill match-up but don't underestimate him. You need to be careful if chasing him as he can turn on you with his body slam because of it's low cooldown. It is possible for you to use your (E) to leap over all of his abilities, use this to your advantage. He gets tanky as the game progresses so look for kills elsewhere after level 6 unless you have a clear chance of killing him.

VS

Heimerdinger

Medium

This is a lane where he will generally have you shoved up to your tower all day long with his turrets. They are pretty squishy so try to not let him get x3 of them set-up. You can try to kill them with Q+W and (E) out as needed but be aware this will cost you quiet a bit of mana! Try to farm as much as you can, look for picks and out-roam him if possible. Use your mobility to your advantage. After level 6 you should be able to all-in him but be aware, even after he is dead the turrets will continue to shoot at you.

VS

Karma

Medium

Rarely seen in mid lane but her range and high early damage makes her a challenge for you to lane against. Pre level 6 is going to be a tough enough game for Fizz. Try to avoid letting her harass you for free. She has a shield, heal and gets tanky. If you can bait out her spells it can be worth trading with her. She will be difficult to 100-0 even after level 6. Concentrate on farming as much as you can and look for picks / roam elsewhere for kills.

VS

Karthus

Easy

Man this champion is just annoying but you should have no problem against him. You are mobile enough to dodge his (Q). He has no escape and you can leap over his wall with your (E). He is squishy and easy for you to all in. You can dodge his ultimate if you time your (E) correctly and use it just as his ult is about to pop off. Late game he can do a lot of damage to your entire team with his ultimate. Be sure to type in chat to your team when he hits level 6 to let them know he has utli ready.

VS

Kassadin

Medium
Laning against Kassadin should be reasonably OK due to him being a melee champion. Should they be decent at playing the champion or are a OTP, then you might be in for some trouble. Try to farm as much as you can during laning phase. His (Q) is annoying as it offers him a shield. After 6 he becomes kill-able for you. If you fall behind though, this will be difficult. He will want to roam so be sure to either follow him or else be the one leading the roam.

VS

Katarina

Medium

This is a skill match-up but you need to be carelful of taking loads of free harass from her (Q). If she walks up to last-hit a minion you can possibly trade her. If you are really not confidnet you can consider taking exhaust and use it on her when she ulti's you, I personally wouldn't bother though. You can use your troll-poll (E) when she ulti's you, then use the rest of your combo to kill her. Zhonya can be a nice item to pick up early too, especially if the top-laner / jungler are AD champs.

VS

Kayle

Hard

This is a skill match-up but she is a right pain to deal with. Make sure you do not take too much free harass early game as she packs quiet a punch. You can bait out her ultimate and then pop your shark onto her as it's about 50% through in order for it to be garunteed damage. Call for jungler help in this match-up. Farm as much as possible, roam and look for picks.

VS

Kennen

Medium

It's not very likely you will be matched against Kennen in midlane but that being said he is really annoying to lane against. Be sure to stay behind your creeps and try your best not to let him get marks on you. You might end up having to farm under tower in this match-up but you can possibly trade with him once his abilities are on cooldown. There's not much you can do against him until level 6. Take care of him having Zhonya as he can bait you easily with it and his Ultimate.

VS

LeBlanc

Hard

This is a skill match-up and you might struggle early in laning phase. She has a lot of burst damage, even early in laning and she can root you too. This lane becomes a lot easier after level 6 so keep your head down, try your best to farm and try not to die to ganks or solo in lane. After 6 you should either try to kill her and if this is not possible, call for jungler help. Don't forget to roam and look for picks elsewhere.

VS

Lissandra

Hard

She is very squishy and it's possible for you to dodge her skill shots but this is still far from an easy match-up. A decent Lissandra can troll you quiet a bit with her (E) and you will both be able to burst eachother down. Be careful of her (E) as she can get you with it and lock you down as her jungler arrives. In skirmishes and team-fights her ultimate is a nightmare for you as it will instantly lock you down but take care as she can aslo use it on herself. Try not to stay behind minions to avoid taking splash damage from her (Q).

VS

Lux

Easy

Lux has a massive range advantage over you but she is squishy and has no real escape. If she plays aggressively and keeps pushing into you, call for a gank from your jungler. Hopefully they will listen and be in a position to help you secure a kill. After level 6 be sure not to get caught off-guard without your (E) because her (E) will slow you, which will make it easier for her to (Q) + (R) you. If she takes Barrier, it can be difficult to 100-0 her. Avoid her skill shots in-lane and kill her after level 6. Farm as much as you can and try to roam whenever possible.

VS

Malzahar

Hard

He will push the lane extremely hard which is going to make it very difficult for you to roam. His passive is a problem for you so you need to remove it from him. His voidlings along with the rest of his kit and ultimate will make for an easy kill for him on you. Call for jungler help and try to punish him for any mistakes he makes. Take Teleport for this lane and remind your bot lane to keep a deep ward for you. Cleanse could be an option either, depending on your confidence. Mid game is usually where the problem lies for me against this champion.

VS

Morgana

Medium

You will need to dodge her (Q), if you keep eating them up then you will end up putting yourself behind and suffer in the long run. Ideally, you should try to punish her every time she misses her (Q) and it's on CD. If you cannot kill her then just farm as much as possible. Don't engage on her with your (E), use it to finish her off or dis-engage if needed. If she ults you, you can (Q) to a minion then (E) to try to escape the stun. She should be easy pickings for Fizz, especially after level 6. If she builds MR she can be a little difficult to burst down.

VS

Nidalee

Medium

You are unlikely to be facing a Nidalee in mindlane but stranger things have happened. Avoid her traps and dodge her (Q) and she should not pose too much of a threat to you. Don't underestimate her damage though if you should get hit my the before mentioned. Shouldn't be too difficult a lane if you play sensibly.

VS

Orianna

Medium

Orianna will zone and bully you off your farm all lane long with her ball. Her shield makes her surprisingly tanky and couple this with the fact that most of them take barrier means your in for a difficult time when you try to burst her down. This is a dificult lane in the sense that it's hard for you to farm safely and even after level 6 you will likely find it difficult to 100-0 her. You can try to bait out her ulti by using (Q)+(W) and then using (E) to leap back to safety if she ulti's herself. She has no real escape so call for jungler help and don't forget to roam for kills whenever possible and look for picks on the map.

VS

Ryze

Medium

Laning phase should be ok against Ryze but you will need to kill him ASAP in order to get enough of an advantage to kill him a little bit later. He gets very tanky and you will likely struggle to bring him from 100-0 unless he is very far behind. He will outscale you a LOT so be sure to identify the time where you cannot trade with him anymore and go pick up some kills elsewhere on the map.

VS

Swain

Medium
Swain has it easy against you for the first 6 levels. He has loads of sustain and will be building tanky. As he gets tanky as the game progresses you may have to look for kills elsewhere unless your jungler helps you out or you are pretty far ahead. Farm as much as you can and punish him for any mistake he makes. Freeze the lane near your turret if needed. After level 6 you can possibly win trades against him. His (E) can damage you while you're on your troll-pole.

VS

Syndra

Hard

This lane is a NIGHTMARE pre level 6. She massively outranges you so try your best to avoid her skill-shots and therefore giving her tonnes of free harass. She can still hit you hard even under your tower. Farm as much as you safely can and you can try to abuse her cooldowns [especially her (E)] should she miss a spell on you. Try to keep your (E) to use in order to avoid her ultimate, but be sure to time it after the balls are moving to ensure it consume it's cooldown. After level 6 this lane become a lot easier as you can now burst her down, especially with some jungler help.

VS

Taliyah

Hard

Taliyah out-ranges you quiet a bit and if she manages to land a combo on you, it'll hurt a lot. Play safe and dodge her skills until level 6. Early laning phase will be difficult but once you get your ultimate up she should be no problem for you to 100-0. You can try to take advantage of her if she misses her (W)+(E), use your (Q)+(W)+AA and then (E) to escape to safety.

VS

Talon

Medium

Start with cloth armour and health potions and rush Seekers Armguard if under preasure. Farm as much as you can and try your best to dodge his (W), if you do this you can likely harass him with your (Q)+(W)+(E). He will look to roam a lot so be sure to either follow him or be ahead of him and roam yourself. If you don't follow him, he will likely get fed from your teammates which in turn will result in him getting more fed from you.

VS

Twisted Fate

Easy

He is squishy but may be able to poke you quiet a bit in the early levels. Either wait for him to pick a card (other than yellow) before trying to trade with him or use your (E) to dodge it. Don't get caught without your (E) to try disengage from a poor engage. He will want to roam to other lanes with his ulti so be sure to do your part also. You need to look for picks and roam throughout laning phase. After level 6 you should have no problem 100-0 him but be careful and aware of his jungler.

VS

Veigar

Easy

Very squishy champion and you should have no problem bursting him down after level 6. You can use your troll poll (E) to leap over his stun but be careful as you may need it to disengage if help arrives for him. Annoyingly, he will be able to one-shot a carry on your team (including you) late-game regardless of what you do to him in laning phase :( . You are able to (E) his ulti and other spell if you time it correctly, with practice this will become easier. Kill him as much as you can, look for picks and help other lanes to win.

VS

Vel'Koz

Medium

He out-ranges you a LOT and hits hard. Try to not get hit by his combo's. This is a difficult lane pre 6 but if you don't eat up his combo's all the time you will put yourself in a great position to punish him once you have your ultimate. This lane is really going to rely on how decent you are at avoiding his skill shots and knock up. He has 4 skill shots which makes your mobility very difficult for him to deal with. When he ulti's you, you can (E) or (Q) to him and then walk behind him if need be. After level 6 this lane gets easier.

VS

Viktor

Medium

Viktor can be a tricky to deal with in lane since he is a strong laner with lots of damage, fast waveclear, and zone control with his (E) and (W). There's room for outplay since he has skill-shots. Play safe and farm during the first two levels. Once you hit level 3, you can consider an all-in since you have more damaging at this point than him. After level 6 you should be able to all-in him with your ultimate and combo assuming he hasn't taken a defensive spell such as barrier. He lacks mobility so call for some jungler help.

VS

Vladimir

Medium

Vladimir is a nuisance champion to play against, I really dislike him. Ignite is a decent summoner spell to take against him as it will reduce his ability to sustain in fights. His early game is very weak but this does not mean he cant harass you much and sustain himself. If he plays passive you will never be able to kill him and overextending will likely get you ganked. By the time you get stronger and able to deal with him he will have some items himself which will likely begin with MR. Look for kills and picks in other lanes and the jungle as he will be next to impossible to kill without jungler help and CC.

VS

Xerath

Medium

If you can dodge his skill shots you will make this lane a whole lot easier than it'll be if you keep eating them up. This is easier said than done and it's quiet annoying how far back he can farm from. Do your best not do die and get to level 6, once you have your ultimate ready to go he is an easy champion to 100-0. He can keep this lane shoved hard though so you might end up farming under your tower.

VS

Zed

Medium

Zed is not the most difficult matchup but he certainly is a potent champion. Don't underestimate his poke and damage in the early levels. You should try to save your (E) for when he ulti's you as he cannot attack you on your troll-poll. Rush 'Seekers Armguard' and finish it off into a Zhonya quickly if need be. You both have the potential to out-play eachother. Use your mobility to dodge his skill shots.

VS

Ziggs

Medium

If you don't take much damage from him before level 3 you can try for an all-in then, however I tend to try to play safe until level 6. He has a massive range advantage over you and will take full advantage of this. Try your best not to die in this lane early as it will put you at a serious disadvantage against him. He will end up pushing hard so farm under tower as best as you can. As long as you haven't fallen massively behind once you hit level 6 the lane swings to your favour. If you step on his mines you're gonna get slowed as well as take damage and this is going to make it much easier for him to land AA and abilities on you. Try to save your (E) for dodging his ulti if possible.

VS

Zilean

Medium

Be aware and cautious of his level 2 - it hurts a LOT more than one would expect. He's difficult to lane against and pretty much all you can do for the first few levels is farm. It's possible to try to trade with him once you are level 3 and his abilities have been dodged and are on cooldown. You could possibly start with boots and potions to give you some extra movement speed to avoid his bombs, this however will lower your ability to trade favourably with him. After level 6 he is still an issue due to his ultimate but you should be able to burst him down fairly quickly.

About Me

179.png
Hey guys, my in-game name is FalleN3. I'm from Ireland and have been playing League of Legends for some years now. I'm a mid lane & Annie Main but I do enjoy playing champions such as Fizz, Akali & Orianna, among others too.

I stream Monday to Thursday at 6pm GMT+1 until 9pm GMT+1. It's highly unlikely that you will learn anything by watching me on Twitch but I do offer a chilled and relaxed stream.

Fizz is an extremely fun champion to play. He is a melee ranged assassin with a very high skill cap. The potential to outplay your opponents is absolutely limitless but it will take you a lot of time and knowledge to achieve this consistently.

He has a lot of damage even in the early game and enemies often don't realise his trading potential pre level 6. His ultimate is a skill-shot shark that deals more damage the further distance from the enemy it has been cast.

Fizz excels after level 6 and is a formidable sight for any enemy bot lane once he roams to it. In team-fights he has the ability to get right into the backline carries for an assassination.

I think his biggest weakness is that he is a snowbally champion and can be difficult to come back if you fall behind. I find that as games go on in length, your potential goes down and down, therefore it's best to end as early as possible. You also are very squishy, just as all assassins are.

Fizz's Troll Poll is his bread and butter, there is so much fun to be had with this but you need to use it wisely.

Laning phase can be difficult if against ranged mages but once you get to level 6, almost every champion in mid-lane should be fair game for you.

He is being banned a LOT in ranked games lately so be sure to have some other champions in your pool that you can play with.

I hope you enjoy reading this guide and can perhaps learn a little bit of something from it.

How To Play Back to Top

Levels 1-6 can vary slightly depending on who you are up against. Farming is of the utmost importance with any champion in early game so be sure to concentrate as much as you can on getting your Creep Score (CS) up. You will need to learn how to farm under tower as Fizz as this can make a big difference to your game.

At level 1, I tend to take fizzw.png Seastone Trident in as many match-ups as I can, but if enemy is going to bully me a lot, like 134.png Syndra101.png Xerath etc... I may pick fizze.png Playful / Trickster as my first ability. I think it really depends on my confidence in a particular game but fizze.png Playful / Trickster is definitely the safer start.

105.png Fizz is very squishy so when last hitting with him you will want to stay close to the back of your minion wave until their creeps get low. At this point you will want to move towards the low hp enemy creeps and last hit them. Now you want to move back again. You need to try not give a ranged champion lots of free harass on you. If the enemy happens to hit you with an ability or an Auto-Attack at level 1, they will aggro your minions and therefore take some damage. As long as you have minions, the odd AA (I don't mean let them trash you around) as you farm should be of no harm.

At level 2, I take  fizze.png Playful / Trickster unless I have taken it as my first ability. IMO 105.png Fizz gets a decent power spike at level 2 but a much safer spike at level 3. I tend to wait until level 3 before I try to trade with an enemy, assuming I can do so. Some games they just have too much pressure on a  Fizz so it's best to play it safe. In the early laning phase it can be a good idea to only use your  fizze.png Playful / Trickster as a means of disengage, this is definitely a safer option, especially if you've not taken flash. If you are guaranteed a kill with your  fizze.png Playful / Trickster though, by all means go for it.

Try to farm until level 6 but keep an eye on your jungler and other things around the map so you can try to help him in a 1v1 with the enemy jungler etc.. Be sure to keep warded and try to get to level 6 without giving away free kills to the enemy. Farm, Farm, Farm...

Level 6 is a big power spike for 105.png Fizz . You can either call for jungler gank in mid lane, roam to another lane that is being pushed or try to all in your enemy laner by yourself. Remember that your ulti will do more damage the further you are from the enemy when you cast it. Be sure to observe what summoner spells they have though as  Cleanse or  Barrier etc.. can really ruin your all-ins!

As with any champion, farming is still a crucial part of levels 6-9. The math makes it (give or take) that 19 CS = 300g (1 Kill) so you need to be aware that for every 19 CS you fall behind the enemy it is the same as falling behind by 1 Kill in terms of gold. On the flip side, every 19 CS you are ahead of the enemy, you are more or less 1 Kill up on them.

However, now that you most likely have an item and your ultimate is available the time has come to get some kills. If possible, you can try to get some kills from your enemy mid laner and put them behind. If you don't think you have enough burst to do it alone yet, or if they have the likes of  21.png Barrier or  Heal available you can call for jungler help. Perhaps your jungler has CC and this can really help you to secure a kill.

Your other option is to roam, preferably to bot lane where you are more likely to be able to burst down the enemy ADC. Don't ignore a Top Lane gank altogether though but use your common sense at any given moment when you are going to roam and deciding which lane you should go to. Is your top laner low on HP and looks like the enemy might dive him, perhaps it might be a good idea for you to go and 'clean up' the kills. The same goes for bot lane. Are the enemies low on HP and you can make a tower-dive play? Be aware of the enemy jungler though and take note if the enemy mid-laner roams after you.

You have the ability to dive towers due to your  fizze.png Playful / Trickster and 4.png Flash so you should use and abuse this as much as you can. You can tank the tower to begin the dive and when you see the need to, use   Playful / Trickster to swap aggro to a teammate.

So to summarise levels 6-9 and into mid game: Farm as much as you can and roam as much as you can and be sure to place wards!

3.png

Ok, so it's mid game. You should by now at least have your core items. If you are behind, you need to keep farming as a priority and consider picking up a defensive item. If you are ahead or even you should continue to farm as much as possible but concentrate on trying to secure kills with your team-mates.

At this point in the game other players will begin to roam and group up for ambushes, ganks or to secure and objective (Towers, Dragon, Rift Herald etc..) Large scale Team-fights and smaller skirmishes will begin to occur. Victory or Loss of these fights at this stage can sway the outcome of the game. Don't underestimate how important the objectives are, in the end this is how we win the game & it won't matter how many kills you have when a nexus falls.

You will want to keep vision on the map and try your best not to get caught alone, therefore potentially giving away free kills/objectives.

In the skirmishes and team-fights you will want to focus the 'HIGHEST' priority carry on the enemy team: AP Carry or AD Carry. It's likely that they will have a least some amount of peel so keep an eye out for them to be out of position or otherwise engaged.

Try to keep your CS up... Remember roughly every 19 CS is the same in gold as 1 kill.

4.png

Fizz's kit excels very well at quick 'in-and-out' assassinations. In a team-fight you will want to assassinate one of the enemy squishy carries, preferably the one with the highest priority (biggest threat potential to your team).

As Fizz, it is possible for you to initiate a fight or you can wait for the fight to break out before you go in. It is also possible for you to flank the enemy, an example would be if all players are mid lane and you engage on a carry from behind or over a wall etc..

Sometimes the enemy team comp will include champions like  117.png Lulu , 10.png Kayle , 223.png Tahm Kench etc... or something like 90.png Malzahar and this will likely make assassinating a carry impossible in a team-fight. If this happens, you will need to hope your team can blow the enemies CC and peel, hope for picks or simply just focus on whoever your team goes on.

What does Freezing your lane mean?
A frozen lane is basically a lane where the creeps site for battle does not move.

Why would I want a frozen lane?
You want to set up easy ganks for your jungler.
You do not want to push out too far from your tower, therefore keeping safer from ganks.
You do not want the enemy to have an easier time farming under their tower.

Where is the best place to freeze a lane?
Ideally you will want to freeze your lane close to your tower but not at the point where the enemy minions are being attacked by it.

How can I freeze a lane?
You need to make it where the enemy minions will always beat your minions. You will only last hit minions at the very last possible second. Once all of your minions die, you will need to tank the enemy wave near your tower until your new wave of minions arrive. You can draw them towards river and then back to the lane.

Now that the enemy minions have the numbers advantage, continue to only last-hit them at the very last second.

My enemy has frozen the lane, how can I unfreeze it?
Push harder! Ward both river brushes and push as much as you can. Ideally you will have knowledge of where the enemy jungler is (or at least have flash) at the time you are pushing because you will be overextended and susceptible to being ganked.
