• This is what makes Garen, Garen. Ultimate clear wave, insane AoE damage to win trades by keeping just enough range to not let the enemy AA. Always max this, even in a ranged match-up. I've seen people max Q; It's not worth it. You need to clear waves with E to survive lane. Standard combo for trading is auto>Q>E, spin until they back off (or follow if you think you can get a lot of extra damage, but beware of ganks). Clear the wave with this when they back, or keep them at their tower to draw jungle pressure from elsewhere (escaping ganks with Garen is very easy, so it's not a problem). Use it in team-fights to deal a lot of damage.

  

(Demacian Justice)

• The finishing move. In laning phase, if you can / and leave them at roughly 20~30% hp (depending on who you're fighting) you can and it will finish them off. In team-fights, your goal is to execute anyone who is low, but don't just randomly. If you can choose between the ADC and the tank, the AD most of the time. However, remember this scales with missing health. Therefore, tanks will take WAY more damage from your ult than a squishy target. If you think it's worth it, you can use this to make their front-line disappear and go on to kill the back-line.

Do not underestimate dive potential. It's absolutely insane. You can dive people with half HP if you're 80% hp and still come out alive easily.

2. For the most part you will take this Because it gives you tenacity for anyone that hard cc's you. Plus gives a bit of MR.
3. Another Great item on Garen. Gets you beefy with HP & Armor while giving you increased movement speed which he needs.
4. With this, You get more HP as a tank but now you have 2 HP items along with Gage which gives you more Basic Dmg the more HP you get. This also provides a momentary shield when you get low on HP.
5. Let's be honest, this is another one of those items that is great on Garen. It proc's with his E and as you SPIN TO WIN, it allows you to armor pen. the crap out of champs.
6. I've only recently been using this item and I'm glad i did. This allows you to wave push a lane and take towers with ease. You can even leave this in another lane so it gets pushed and be with the team. Can you say 2 places at once!?

• If you don't want swap it out with . Thornmail is also an effective item that great to use.
• If you're team is VS a Full AD team or has an AD top w/ AD jung, swap out for as it will help you for early to mid game.
• Pick up instead of if it's a AP Top w/ AP jungle.
