Try to kite jungle monsters.
Start with W to deal % damage to them, then Q to have a kiting tool.
Go gank with redbuff and use your jump as an additional slowing tool.
Max R>Q>E>W.
E > W earl to midgame because you need to escape more often (=lower cooldown)
W>E in lategame, because it increases the stun duration of your wallop.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

    Sustained start, i recommend this.

Core Items

Take these, it's dangerous to go alone.
2 shields, many health points, 20%cdr. A support item on a jungler? Yes, it's very useful. Share minions, get extra gold, heal teammates and shield them and / or yourself.
Items to boost your early amount of HP
These two are your best friends. Kindle a bit more than glacial. But if you need early cdr, get both.

Situational Items

Also good choices. I would prefer Randuins in most cases.
Trinity is fine for a slight damage and movement boost, I prefer to take a mallet for even more efficient kiting with an additional huge package of tankyness.
Very nice item on Gnar, even without having mana. Gives him all he needs: Armor, CDR and even more Kiting ability.

For Gnar, 2 Stats are important. First is tankyness to survive a bit (and tank in teamfights lateron) and the second stat is cooldown reduction. It improves your kiting ability with your Q (40% cdr means no cooldown if you catch it) and also helps you with the rest of your kit in both forms.
