Summoner Spells Back to Top

11.png: Need it in order to jungle.

6.png: Gets you more distance than flash would and you don't need Flash 4.png on Hecarim because of his ultimate which gives him the "instant" mobility that he needs to do well. Flash 4.png is simply overkill on Hecarim 120_64.png. Ghost 6.png also gives you bonus AD whenever you use it, because of his passive.

4.png: Use this to learn the champion if you don't feel confident with Ghost 6.png.

Masteries Back to Top

This is the best masteries I come up with for Hecarim so far here in the pre-season, but I think they are pretty solid.

The reason I don't pick Meditation even though I mentioned that I run out of mana real quick is because Merciless is too good, and not getting that over meditation in overly foolish in my opinion.

One shot people.

Get as most damage as possible every single game up until you hit diamond, then you have to be a bit more aware of what you build.

THE ORDER YOU WANT TO BUY YOUR DEFENSIVE ITEMS IN:

versus ad: 3742.png -> 3110.png -> omen versus crit/ thornmail versus consistant non crit dmg/sunfire if u need armor but want a bit more dmg (hehe)

versus ap: 3156.png (maw VERY STRONG this season due to armor pen) -> spirit for ego MR and locket if no one else gets it.

VS

Amumu

Medium

As for Amumu being an AP version of Hecarim it's hard to define which one is gonna do a better job.

Early on 2v2's and 3v3's in my opinion depends on which one engages first and who gets the first kill should win in most situations.

You are both the kind of jungler that wants to fight in late-game so I don't see you doing any sort of 1v1. If it so happens, I think it depends on which champion have red-buff and have the highest level.

He will do more damage than you and have a higher potential to pick-up tour team-mates really fast as for where you as Hecarim like fights that goes on for a longer period of time rather than just picking people off. It's hard to singlehandly burst down people and put your opponents in to dum situations compared to how easy it can be as Amumu.

My advice is to play it teamfights defensivly and avoid getting close to your team-mates for the sake of him not getting a perfect ultimate down to your carries. You can even try to push him away from your team as Hecarims engage isn't insane super late-game since slows can potentially crush your engage.

You biggest advantage in this match-up is that you have an easier time gangking pre level 6.

VS

Dr. Mundo

Easy
You are generally more useful.

VS

Elise

Medium

She have great 1v1 potential in this match-up.

You will usually win 2v2 duals against her unless you are the one getting engaged on or your partner get's bursted down.

She can dodge your ultimate and weaken your engage with her Repel.

Try to dodge her stun. Many Elise players makes that mistake of casting their stun way to early, which gives you a great chance of dodging her stun since you are after all Hecarim, so you do have great movementspeed, better use it!

You farm faster than Elise mid-game, unless you are massivly behind. It's important to use that, always be an officiant jungler. You are the one scaling better in to the late-game here!

VS

Evelynn

Medium

Not as hard as she used to be, but she usually tries to gangk you ar your buff lv 2

VS

Fiddlesticks

Medium

Really annoying champion.

This is the champion you would want to buy Banshee's 3102_32.png against, because of his fear.

You have 1v1 potential, but be carefull to get baited, Fiddlesticks can be a tought one in 2v2 duels.

Remember to buy a lot of wards to help your team keeping up with vision, since it's extremely important against a Fiddlesticks!

VS

Jarvan IV

Easy

Jarvans strength in this match-up is his better duel potential early on. Remember his E + Q combo ain't as hard to dodge as it used to be, if he misses the combo, you basicly won the duel.

Be aware of counterjungling and ealy invades. Make sure that you intrance to your red buff (if on red side) is warded so you won't get level 2 gangked.

My advice in this match-up would be to play the jungle standard. You don't need to play like a bitch in this match-up. It's not a farm to win match-up either. Not only will your laners start crying about how bad you are for not gangking, but you will potentially also give a tier 5 garbage jungler (J4) a win, which would be really sad.
Note that I'm joking here, J4 is not tier 5 garbage, but I personally don't like him.
So you can potentially outduel 2v2 and 3v3 fights around level 4 and 5 where you get your damage spike.

You can jump over his ultimate with your E if you are close to a target.

You should do more in teamfights, simply because Hecarim's stats and abilities scales way better than Jarvans. I personally see Jarvan as a tiny better version of Lee Sin 64_64.png late-game, which isn't that great.

VS

Lee Sin

Medium

Not that hard to dual as he used to, but he can still be very rough if he gets a solid lead onn you.

Watch out for the lv2 gangk on your buff!

VS

Nocturne

Medium

Nocturne is a champion that works well against all champions. He does a bit more than you early on.

You proc is double attack-speed from his spellshield easily with your Q which can sometimes be a disadvantage.
Nocturne have great countergangk potential, watch out when you're diving.
Stay near your team when he ults and protect your carries, since he can get to them very easily with his ultimate.

VS

Nunu

Hard

Annoying champion, will try to steal ur stuff and is a pain to deal with, but if you get through early in good shape it should be an easy win.

VS

Rek'Sai

Easy

Very easy opponent, you can dual him when you are level 4. You outdmg him, you have almost as much mobility as he has, he can consistantly jump over walls where u can't which is his only advantage.

VS

Sejuani

Medium

Sejuani is not that different from Hecarim. Sejuani got a little more CC where as Hecarim got more mobility and utility.

Her slows can really mess with you so watch out.

Don't expect to have any 1v1 duals ever.

Teamfights and duals are very even in my opinion. Skill depended.

VS

Shyvana

Medium

Shyvana have a bigger potential to be stronger mid/early-late-game.

The only real advantage Hecarim have in this match-up is that Hecarim have better gang potential because of his Charge (E).

As Hecarim I recommend you try to farm up as much as possible and avoid doing countergangks, since you need to engage any fight in order to win it 2v2 and 3v3 with the mindset of burst one of the opponents down really fast.

Unless the Shyvana is really weak for some reason you should avoid any 1v1 in any part of the game. There is no way you're going to win a 1v1 with both of you being 100% HP.

As soon as you hit 4 to 6 items you should start being more useful than Shyvana in teamfights.

VS

Vi

Hard

As always, it depends on if it's a good or bad Vi.

Against a good Vi that just never misses her Q's you be watch out. She can almost build whatever and will still be able to take you down because of a better dual kid.

The only real advantage you got in this match-up is that you can tank more in teamfights and you do AOE damage.

VS

Zac

Medium

In season 6 he actually become a real threat, invredibly hard to kill, if you get a solid lead you can easily snowball, but his knock-ups can be extremely annoying for skirmishes and teamfights.
