You would like to take this set of spells if you are vs high self-sustained champs like vlad/swain etc.Or if you think you can swnoball with that the lane and get farm/fed fast.

I usually get to use this set of spells.You can start like this: 
    -Hunter machete if you plan to share jungle with your jungler until you get enough gold for tier 1 skirmisher;
    -ruby crystal and get faster enough gold for the flame.
Either path i pick, i take the oppposite side my jungler start and take small camps(not blue/red) I get lvl and with tp , when i go to lane, i usually got lvl3/4 faster than my laner.
You can use smite for :
    -jungle invade/camp smite bonus like vision;
    -x2 smite for objectives;
    -smite on champion you will focus;
    -do as you please.

Masteries Back to Top

Why these new masteries for season 5 from the usual 9-21-0?

- More points in the offensive masteries make Hec noticeably stronger 
- Encourages a more aggressive playstyle. Practically no one knows how strong Hec's burst is.
- W has been buffed to heal more so less need of early sustain
- Lets you snowball harder


You will take thise masteries for S5 instead of 9-21-0 because:

-You will go tanky late, so , more points in offensive=much stronger 120_64.png
-Encourages such aggressive playstyle.To be directly,no one will know for sure hos strong 120_64.png`s burst is at the moment
-W provide you enough self-sustain so you dont need defense early
-You will snowball harder even from early game

Hecarim ignores unit collision and gains attack damage equal to 10 / 12.5 / 15 / 17.5 / 20 / 22.5 / 25% of his bonus movement speed.

Explanation:
This is why movement speed bonus is so good on Hecarim. Nothing is better than movement speed at late stages of the game for an initiator. Plus, he gets free bonus attack damage for it that can make him burst down any carries late game even faster. What more can you ask for?

Hecarim cleaves nearby enemies for 60/95/130/165/200 (+60% bonus Attack Damage) physical damage. (66% damage to minions and monsters)If Hecarim damages at least one enemy with this attack he gains a stack of Rampage, reducing the base cooldown of this skill by 1 second for a short duration. This effect can stack up to 2 times.

Explanation:
This is Hec's main damage skill, which is why you max it first. With full CDR, you can use it almost each second. It's an AoE skill that does physical damage and you can use it without stopping your movements, which means you can keep spamming it while chasing your target.

w.png W: Spirit of Dread
Hecarim deals 80/120/160/200/240 (+80% Ability Power) magic damage over 4 seconds to all nearby enemies. Hecarim is healed for 20% of the damage these enemies take from any source.Hecarim cannot heal more than 90/120/150/180/210 Health from minions or monsters.

Explanation:
Oh man. Why is it that people just can't seem to kill this huge pony in teamfights? It's because of this skill. You can just jump into 5 people without worrying about getting killed because you'll just regain health thanks to the damage that your teammates deal to the enemies. This skill combined with your ult is mainly what makes you godly late game. Even if you're ignited, people would be foolish to focus someone as tanky as you. The best thing about this skill is that it doesn't just heal you with only the damage done by you. It can be anyone's damage and it will still heal you.

Hecarim gains increasing Movement Speed for 4 seconds. His next attack knocks the target back dealing 40/75/110/145/180 (+50% bonus Attack Damage) to 80/150/220/290/360 (+100% bonus Attack Damage) physical damage based on how far Hecarim has traveled during Devastating Charge.

Explanation:
Great for chasing, initiating and escaping. This skill is especially good late game, which is why you max it last. There are many ways of using this skill, which are explained in detail in the tips and tricks section.

r.pngR: Onslaught of Shadows
Hecarim summons spectral riders and charges forward, dealing 150/250/350 (+100% Ability Power) magic damage to anyone they strike. Hecarim releases a shockwave when he finishes his charge, causing nearby enemies to flee from Hecarim for 1 second.Hecarim himself will only move to the targeted location. The riders will always move the full distance.

Explanation:
GODLY ULT. You can go rambo into 5 people without a care in the world with this combined with your W, as long as your team is there to do damage. One of the best initiations hands down.

    Sunfire Cape is a must if you dont get smite path with cinderhulk.Why ? well, you are a non-ranged fighter with close-combat mode.That means you will stay a couple of seconds along with them,so you will deal additional damage and still be tanky.REMEMBER,only if you DONT have cinderhulk. Bami with Sunfire DON`T STACK !

   Randuin Omen is a must if you are vs at least 3 ranged champions (with basic attacks of course) , or if they are with no escape, so you will slow them harder.Get Frozen Mallet and they will suffer the Endless slow.
**Patch [5.16]-Got a little tanky stats nerf, but now you can fight better vs fed adc/basic dealers(yasuo,yi,etc) with high critical hit cap.

   Thornmail if they are hard ad dealers/fed adc(get it with frozen heart+randuin ).

  This item can shreed their armor down +your Q and runes can hurt them a lot.Additionaly,you get cdr and health stats.

  This item can be bought for critical strike movement speed and armor penetration.You can get those from Black Cleaver or Trinity. The fact is you can get it if you are fed and they got not enough tanky adc/apc, so  ,use active and E-Q charge , you should be able to 1-shot them.

   Malmortius should be a good item to get. Why? Well, you get mr,ad,shield at low hp,and as your HP is dropping,(you will still be a tank and if is below 25% will drop still hard) you will raise your damage, while you are tanky, WHY NOT ?

   With tp-homeguard, you can get the boost, but you wont be always able to do that, so replace boots with zephyr and you wont have problems.

In this lane, you have to zone him, and poke him while he charge passive and hp.Push him or take his passive of and zone him after that freezing the lane. 
If you let him rule the lane and be scary, he will destroy you.

Start with 2041_32.png. Always manage to get one 2044_32.png and keep the river warded in case of a gank.Push him after make a full vision of river ways and with that you make him lose cs, and make his mana bar empty with that.

In this current meta, cho is at his power spike .Stack hp and in fight you can avoid his Q and Ult like that:when he will Q, ult him ,and when he will ult you only if he missed Q and dont have silence, E him and you will stop the animation. But dont try that, just farm and peel him.

For the 3078_32.png, I suggest getting 3260_32.png then 3044_32.png. After that, get 3057_32.png before 3086_32.png.The reason why you take Sheen before Zeal is because you do not want to stay in a prolonged fight with Darius. Burst is better vs Darius to avoid him adding too many Hemorrhage stacks on you. Do this if there's a STRONG TANK (32_64.png,57_64.png,98_64.png,102_64.png) in your team,otherwise,get 1011_32.png se,geto cut his power spike missing hp from ult, then rush 3078_32.png.
Patch [5.17] hard ,very hard match-up.!

Slow=cancer.To kill him, get something that has 3751_32.png in build for dps , get 3153_32.png and 3071_32.png to shreed his armor/hp faster.That`s all about mundo.

Fiora is a problem here.She is not like a hard thing, but if you dont play very well...well, she will destroy you. If your jungler got dmg, get 3025_32.png over 3078_32.png . Then get 3143_32.png or 3110_32.png.At this point, if the score is 0/x/0 for fiora until you get iceborn, she CAN`T possibly touch you.If fight, when you see her Q`ing you, and the E active, ult/E her behind, that will decrease her damage a little.

Not playing too much vs good fizz players.But a good ad fizz, will get botrk and cinderhulk(tp-smite) and go full tank, his Q-E juke will get a little annoying. I can`t give you a good advice, just play safely and dont lose farm. You don`t need to win so hard a lane to win the game, or you will do that but lose the game ;)

If you let him do his infinite poke without a hit-back, he can beat you and even outscale in the late teamfights. Just fight while he is in mini-Gnar. Wait for him to use his Q without hit you(farm minions) then go all in with E, and you will outtrade him because he will have at least 4 seconds for you which means free dmg for you and enough sustain with W from his W x3 stacks of low attack speed early.

After she get some lifesteal,she will outsustain you.

Get over trinity and rush one of iceborn/frozen heart. If is a long early  frozen farm ,get frozen heart first, if not, get iceborn. After this, get tabs and randuin.
You can`t win vs her, you can`t dive her. You can a little win early  and get a little farm lead, but dont overextend. Push her, then roam and get advantage against her. That`s all about hecarim vs irelia.

Get armor, you can fight and get sustained vs him, get armor and if he ult ignite, get out with ult, if he dive you, ult upside and E him in tower.

You have to win early, if he want to go E-Q you, prepare E and W in the same time he jump on you, you will outtrade him later. And you will shreed him ult later.

Tons of poke... just let him knock you back , then E on him and outtrade him. Don`t engage first, or he will hammer you away then cannon attack you from high range and win the trade.

Armor,just go armor, and when you see he is going to W you, W and go like a helicopter, try to get aa-Q-aa first, to pop-up his shield.

I main croke too, the croke is a bad evil croke... you have to get iceborn,tabs and tons of armor... and still can`t outtrade him, just sustain yourself and stay alive.Later,get Black Cleaver to shreed him.

When you want to engage, charge E, and DON`T hit it, use ult in all of them, then go W and E the adc in front of your team .

When you want to fight, every trade you do, but a little longer one, use W , and you will win it.
When you deal dmg, use this little combo:aa-Q-aa one after one, is working very well.
Always use ult to surprise them, that`s the best way to ult.
Use E to stop vital actions from enemy to your team.

- Very good and fast escaping with E and ult
- Higly power spike from movement speed

- Good sustain in lane with W and flask
- Strong early, mid and late game if played corectly

Cons:
- Requires knowledge of playing top lane
- Requires a high level of judgement for teamfights
- Requires the attitude of a BOSS because you decide when to make plays happen
- Weak early game if you aren`t careful
- Can be mana hungry if you spam W too often

Things you have/dont`t have to do with Hecarim Back to Top

Do
- Engage in a 1 on 1 with your Q's passive at maxed stack,do this at the limit range of Q to avoid kiting
- Get your E skill second if you feel like you're going to get ganked early
- Use your Q to farm
- Use your combo from aa-Q-aa to deal faster dmg ( 2 points in attack speed masteries)
- Use 6.png before engaging in a fight for that extra attack damage boost from your passive
- Use 12.png to boost the damage from E(charging)-Q(before E land)-E(landing hit) to 1-shot the adc
- Push your lane and roam if you can't kill your lane opponent
- Activate W on minions to gain back health
- Activate W when the enemy launch the strongest attack/skill
- Tell your jungler to come when your Ult is up for a free kill
- Stay on top of your AD carry to protect him
- Ping everytime you want to engage,and look at your team`s stats, dont expect to follow you if they have 0 mana or half hp vs full
- Ult to disrupt the enemy's positioning

Don't
- Go alone in a teamfight, even if you're fed
- Spam your skills early game and be out of mana
- Play aggressively when your E and your Ult is down
- Hide behind your team in a teamfight
- Hesitate when there's a chance
- Be aggressive at lvl 1-4 if you don`t master 120_64.png
- Be too Superman

Late 120_64.png  must know 2 things: chase or protect. 
These are essential for late game. You have to judge if it`s more important to chase after their carries than protecting your team. Hecarim can do those things like a boss. Remember that Hecarim`s kit is made to jump on anyone in a teamfight, no matter where they`re trying to run to. You have either your ult or your E as a gap closer. On the other hand, even with all those cool moves that let you go straight to their carries and kill them, you have to remember that most of the damage from your team will come from your AD carry. The longer your AD carry stays alive in a teamfight, the better.

Making the right decision between chasing and protecting will most likely decide the fate of the teamfight. As always, be commanding and tell your team when you`re going to engage. As 120_64.png, you are the one who decides when to make plays.

Patch [5.13]

-GG WP ponny, you got a "buff" ^_^. In this patch, slows won`t stack, only the biggest one will pe applied,so, your passive won`t hurt too much in a fight with slow casters.
-With this, now you can get , even if dmg is lower, the skirmisher with smite on top. You will rush camps faster and get whole hp back around lvl 8+

-Few items got buffed for better tanky stats.
