Summoner Spells Back to Top

You need smite for the jungle no questions asked, and ghost is your go to summoner spell that you need for that crazy movespeed

New Runes Back to Top

Masteries Back to Top

this rune page is set up to optimize many things.

1. move speed - you are not in combat until you deal damage or have it dealt to you, so out of combat move speed is beautiful as it increases your overall ad and move speed on your charge onto your unsuspecting victim at 1000+ move speed, it also lets you get around faster, as a side note wanderer lets you get around faster as well so use bushes and river paths as much as possible.

2. jungle clear - with the reworked jungle, clear has not only become harder but vital to your success. so i have taken increased healing, hp5, cdr,  and % missing mana regen to help sustain the new jungle.

3. maintaining the momentum - after you charge someone, a lot of their health and your move speed are gone, so i have included stormraiders surge to get the move speed you need to either finish them off, or get out alive at speeds that leave you near unchaseable.

Standard leveling order for Hecarim.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

THis gives amasing sustain while you take raptors, which should be your first camp, as your q applies the talisman passive to all raptors, healing you for 30 per second in combat with these raptors.

Core Items

    order below and reasons below

Situational Items

all of these items have good niches in your early to mid game, the ad potion is the best late game option, and if you need to be tanky, righteous glory gives you 75% move speed when charging at an enemy and considerable tank stats, it should replace youmuus.

the order should be
1402.png>3009.png>3252.png>3078.png>3742.png>3142.png>3046.png

The reason is,

1402.png - while it is ap, its passive restores manna and you do have some ap scaling, although it is mainly for the 7% move speed

3009.png - these are the best boots  for you as they make slows less effective, and have the overall largest base move speed

3252.png - grabbing an early poachers dirk reduces youmuu's cost by 350g, and after it upgrades gives you +20 OoCMS

3078.png - all the stats offered by this item make you somewhat monstrous, and the final upgrade has 5% move speed to boot

3742.png - with its health and armor, you become pretty tanky, and its passive brings you up to speed with +60 move speed

3142.png3800.png - YG has a cdr, OoCMS, and lethality, while RG makes you tankier. both actives are simmilar, pick accordingly.

3046.png - damage reduction and and 5-12% move speed make this an amazing last item, more on why in the tips and tricks area.

2140.png - best elixir for this build.

Matchups Back to Top

  • Nasus
    Hard

VS

Nasus

Hard

his wither.png will put you all the way back to 110 move speed (the minimum) if you don't proc stormraiders, if he withers you, instantly charge the squishiest member of their team before running for the 75% slow resist. (always run, you cannot deal good sustained dps, while slowed so you need to wait it out.)

Tips and Tricks Back to Top

1. your passive in conjunction with the explorer mastery give you a minimum of 2.25 ad while not slowed in the river or brush, utilize this fact to take camps faster by standing in the nearest bush while fighting them.

2. late game when you have phantom dancer, and thus some decent crit chance, it is somewhat important to crit on the auto attack that you charged on, due to the fact that crits are pseudo random you can affect this somewhat by choosing to finish a camp after 2-3 non critical auto attacks, using only your q.

3. smite your champion targets before smashing them, since blue smite is movement speed steal, your passive will grant you ad equal to 1.5-3% of their move speed.

4. blast cone will launch you the opposite direction from where you are facing usually, but due to the fact that a charging hecarim attempts to knock back his opponents before damaging them, as long as your e is active when you hit it, you will jump to the other side before blowing it up, sending you in the same direction you were headed before targeting it.

5. your passive calculates its bonus ad every 0.25 seconds, make sure to sync up the damage of your e and q as closely as possible for the maximum damage.

6. nasus is the only shown matchup, but any slow over 50% screws you over, as per the tips there, attempt to proc stormraiders, then get out asap if the slow duration is greater than 3 seconds.

7. the total slow resist granted by stormraiders after you get swifties is approximately 94%, so after you get swifties, the only slow you have to worry about is a nasus slow.
