Summoner Spells Back to Top

Today I will show you how to use Ivern as a Support Carry. For summoners spells you always take4.png and for the second summoner spell take smite11.png . Now you may ask why, and the reason is that his E AbilityivernE.png already haves a 70% slow to the opponent and acctualy his main source of damage is his Q and R, and as well his cool downs early stages are way to high, plus Smite will let us get income in case the jungler does not ward up his jungle when you roam.

His passive to do jungle camps in 3 seconds, even as a support, its just going to waste if you don't take Smite

I suggest in level 1 you take the Krugs or the Grump (better) to apply that bonus damage you have in level 1 and poke the lane with Q, as well that level 2 advantage you will get. One of the benefits of taking smite11.png with Ivern's Passive ivernpassive.png is that sweet 3 second scuttle crab and other enemy camps which will make the roams to mid better as you will gain experience and won't fall behind if it was an unsuccessful gank. To your way back you can try to steal the enemy raptors which it will cancel the enemy jungler from taking our wards away, or the blue buff if it is that we started on blue side of the map. Remember that your second priority is to deny the enemy jungler.

Masteries Back to Top

With these set of mastery page we want to play it for the mid/late game with 0/18/12 in Windspeaker's Blessing, since it will give a good shield to our allies and keep them ahead in battle. I suggest Ivern's played with a burst or poke team composition because Ivern can't take sustain champions, so don't pick if enemy haves a Soraka, Sona, Vladimir Ekko or Aatrox or the enemy have too much tanks in game. We want to poke burst and disengage as much as we can an take the opportunity in taking objectives.

We will level up Q first, since you want to be away from the enemy and it has a good range to hit the enemy. Then we take E for early trades and in level 3 the bush for the bonus damage. Then we want to take in level 4 and 5 our Q since it will deal good damage instead of E damage and possibly not hit the enemy with the passive. Then we max the E since we will drop out on power and we'll relly more the team fights. For Ivern's R we want to use it when the enemy is going too aggressive on turret or start a team fight. We want it mainly for disengage but to engage we will have Daisy already out hidden in a bush and land a Q, since Daisy will automatically launch towards to the rooted enemy and the enemy who has commited to the kill, activate an E on Daisy so it can tank attacks and apply Rylais's to make the slow better and will have to pay cost of the knock up if they go to aggresive becase they will not focus Daisy.

Core Items

Situational Items

First of we go with Relic Shield. from level 1 until level 3 you can use relic shield's passive to attack minions from close range and gain some valuable HP for those early trades. pretty much when you are level 5 or 6, you will want to sell it and go for the Eye of Oasis since it will give you early health at low cost, gold income that will be reliable since Relic Shield is going to be wasting, and also that extra fourth trinket for your roaming. Then go for the Rylai's because it will make your all in's better when you in the early stages of the game with your E and then you can apply both passives with the E. Then we go for the Locket of Iron Solari for more resistance for the team. In case of heavy AD enemy Team Composition go for the Zeke's as it will give you that extra attack damage to you and your carry as well as some armor. As third item always go for Banshees' Vail or Mickaels Crucible. Most of the time you will be on the front lines, and if Ivern get's CC, his dead. That's why it comes in handy, it will give you the extra time and second chance to use your abilities. If they have to much burst damage go for a Zhonyas.

I know you see this build is a little high in gold but with the smite11.png I assure you it is possible to earn gold along the game progresses. You will want to make that 45%CDR with Ivern so you can spam those abilities, and with Ivern's passive you can have also the blue buff which will give you the edge in when it comes to apply these shields and roots.

VS

Caitlyn

Hard

If you set up a brush she we set up a trap in it so it will not be in your favor to use it and the poke will be gone, also if you root and click on the champion caytlin will set up a trap and burst you down

VS

Ezreal

Medium

Landing a root will be hard but  after he uses his E you send out Daisy

VS

Graves

Hard

Since we want to set up bushes in top of minions but graves is has his Q it will be hard to get a position for it

VS

Janna

Medium

If we root and dash Janna will use tornados into us and the R will disengage us better than ours but in late game her power spike drops so anuse of it

Heavily relies on auto attacks

VS

Leona

Medium

If E gets us where done for because we will get perma CC but as I said if they go too agressive you van make them pay

VS

Lucian

Hard

If we try to set up brushes he can Q or W  to damage us or use R to wipe out minions and hit us

VS

Lux

Hard

If lux can land that Q it will mean trouble for us so we have to avoid skill shots pretty well also her E will reveal us if we are in bush

VS

Miss Fortune

Medium

Not sure if double up can hit you if you are on a brush but the E will damage us if we try to stay in a brush to long

VS

Morgana

Medium

Her E will negate everything but the power spike drops after the laning phase

VS

Nami

Hard

Her poke is better than ours and a skill will mean perma CC

VS

Sivir

Medium

She can negate ours valuable skillshot to her so we must sure she does not have it to in for it

Setting up Brush Plays Back to Top

For Ivern I suggest in laning when the enemy is sieging the turret you will set up a barricade of 3 bushes in front of the turret so the enemy can't make a dive into someone they cannot see you or the teammate, also, keep sending Q's so they think about twice entering and attacking. Also make 3 bushes in lane in a team fight and just keep poking them until the right Q's and send Daisy into them. When you are sieging the inhibitor, set up the three bushes in front of them and deny them the vision as well. Bushes also works as wards for the first three seconds so make a good use for it and don't face check when going into back from river to lane. Also in laning phase in the middle of the two brushes you can set a W brush and both lane brushes will be revealed for three seconds.
