Summoner Spells Back to Top

Always exhaust. You will most likely never need ignite but you might need heal in case your ADC prefers a different summoner to take.

Now, you can either go 12 in ferocity for the extra bit of damage, or take 12 in resolve to be a little more tanky. I prefer the damage to help burst the enemy adc/support. Though, 12 in resolve will help more if they have a more aggressive engage team comp.

There are many ways to level up skills with Janna. This is my preferred route. Get W first for the passive movespeed, when maxed early it deals a ton of damage to the enemy ADC if they don't have the right runes, and a ton of damage to squishy supports (e.g. Sona, Annie). Shield (E) second to block some damage and win trades, at the point of w maxed and starting on shield, you should be leaving lane around that time (if not, that's fine) so it should help other laners. Q, should never be priority max, as support you will be mostly using this spell for disengage and stall.

Janna's Ult, this is a bit tricky to get used to, as if used the wrong way, you could potentially knock the enemy to safety when they could have been dead. You will need to use this either as a disengage- when your team needs an escape, or to keep them alive for a few moments longer. The latter is hard to position, you will need to position yourself in the middle of your team to keep from knocking them away (unless the tank needs saving) and being able to heal your team at the same time.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Always go with coin unless you have a very aggressive ADC (and you know them), then you can go Spellthief's Edge.

Core Items

Talisman for speed boost, used for engage or disengage if needed. Rest is support things.
Helps your ADC snowball while giving some AP and Armor.
Not completely necessary, but if you aren't dying, this is a great source of AP to boost all of your spells.
Either is fine. Whatever you're comfortable with.
Can shield the team for engage, along with giving them some extra Magic Resist.

Situational Items

Free cleanse for an ally if the enemy has a bunch of CC.
Not needed at all, but if you feel that your lanes aren't being pushed enough I'd always recommend a Zz'Rot and Banner is good to go along with it.
Good replacement for Locket if they don't have much AP.

Matchups Back to Top

For the matchups, I don't really know enough about each individual matchup, but the hardest matchups in my opinion are Thresh/Blitzcrank/Morgana. Thresh and Blitz being able to be more aggressive and not really punishable from a support standpoint, but if they do go too far up, they can be killed if focused by both you and your ADC.

I didn't put this in the Matchups section because this is my thoughts and opinions... not really facts.
