Summoner Spells Back to Top

506.png

Can I swap one of those summoners for another?

A: I advise you not to, as you'll be playing jungle, 11.png is definitely essential and as for 4.png, it allows you to make big plays with it. You can use jarvanivdemacianstandard.png+jarvanivdragonstrike.png +4.png combo. This will knock up your opponents, but no damage will be done.
In conclusion, there's no other summoner as good as those 2 for 59.png.

New Runes Back to Top

506.png
Those are the runes/masteries I'm using, I found them to be pretty good so far. Since they were recently implemented, it still needs more testing, and there might be better ways to build it.

179.png

Why Domination as main path?

179.png
A: This path will focus on the most burst damage possible during ganks, your goal is to deal the most amount of damage you can in the shortest period of time. This will allow you to grab kills faster and give your opponents less time to react.

179.png
  1.  Electrocute.png?width=64 was the choice here, when you gank a lane as 59.png, you want to deal as much damage as possible in the shortest time. Going Electrocute.png?width=32 will give that extra damage you look for in a gank. Predator.png?width=32 is seen in some junglers, but for someone with such early presence as you, you need something to enhance your damage early and Predator.png?width=32 starts the game on CD, so, it won't help you much on your early ganks, and it also scales less with AD than Electrocute.png?width=32Dark%20Harvest.png?width=32 will delay your damage as you have to stack it and that's not your goal.

  2. Sudden%20Impact.png?width=64 deals extra damage when you use your jarvanivdemacianstandard.png+jarvanivdragonstrike.png combo and hit. This will give you even more burst damage, like I explained above, this is all you're looking for early on. Taste%20of%20Blood.png?width=32 as almost no benefits for you as a jungler, I didn't even consider it. cheap%20shot1.png?width=32 will allow you to deal some extra damage after you impair their movement, but in comparison to Sudden%20Impact.png?width=32, it won't be as effective.

  3. Zombie%20Ward.png?width=64 is one of the best options, it gives you some extra vision whenever you clear an enemy ward and since the "green smite" was removed, this rune will give you the chance to keep some vision, lasting for 30 seconds from level 1-4, 36-120 seconds at levels 5-18. Eyeball%20Collection.png?width=32will give you the chance to scale a little better, giving you some extra stats whenever you destroy a ward or kill/assist a champion. Ghost%20Poro.png?width=32 isn't that useful, as a jungler you'll constantly be inside bushes, which triggers this rune, that means you'll never get a proper place for it.

  4. Relentless%20Hunter.png?width=64 is definitely the best choice here, as a jungler, you want more movement to give your team more presence, this rune is really helpful. Ingenious%20Hunter.png?width=32 is not that good for you, as you won't be building many items with active, just not good when compared to Relentless%20Hunter.png?width=32Ravenous%20Hunter.png?width=32 won't give you much benefit, the heals it gives is only worth for champions that spam abilities, which is not your case, don't take it.

179.png

Why Precision as secondary path?

179.png

  1. Triumph.png?width=64 is just great, gives you the ability to survive those hard ganks that you barely can survive, take this rune, you'll thank me later! Overheal.png?width=32 won't give you much, only when you leave fountain, you'll have a small shield, still not worth, even if you have a healer, don't take it over Triumph.png?width=32Presence%20of%20Mind.png?width=32 now gives some mana back and lowers your ultimate CD by 10% whenever you get a takedown. Won't be the best choice, but not as bad as before for Jarvan.

  2. Coup%20De%20Grace.png?width=64 is the rune that'll allow you to finish off wounded opponents, it's perfect when ganking, you'll deal more damage when your enemy is below 40%, this may guarantee just enough damage output for you to get a kill/assist. Cut%20Down.png?width=32 isn't what you're looking for, as you'll be kinda tanky, you will get close to nothing from this rune, don't take it. Last%20Stand.png?width=32 won't be that useful too, since most of the times when you gank and execute your combo, you'll be above 60% health, this rune in most case scenarios will be useless.

Passive_upd.jpg

  • This passive grants you a huge burst on your first hit, it's really powerful on your early ganks and also when you first hit jungle monsters.

    Q_upd.jpg

  • Huge damage from this ability, you should max it first as it'll be your main damage source. It also reduces your enemies armor by 10%

(Damage reduced on later levels, patch 7.24)

    W_upd.jpg

  • You should just take one point on this skill early on, this skill really grants you some extra crowd control, just enough for a few more hits to grab a kill or assist.

    E_upd.jpg

  • You should take this ability level 1, it gives you some extra attack speed early on.

  • If you use this ability followed by jarvanivdragonstrike.png,  you'll get yourself to the place where you placed jarvanivdemacianstandard.png.

    R_upd.jpg

  • Burst damage ability, it really grants you the possibility to one shot your most squishy enemies.

  • It forces your enemies to flash most of the times.

  • great counter for champions without escape ability.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Core Items

If your team needs damage or if you get a really good advantage early on.
If your team really needs a tank.

Situational Items

Consider those against teams with heavy CC and AP damage.
506.png

179.png

Itemization

179.png
  • I would suggest going for 1041.png+3x2003.png as your first items.

  • On your first back, you'll probably have enough money for 3715.png and maybe 1001.png.

  • Work your way into 1412.png, if your against heavy AD team, pick 3047.png, and if against tons of cc and magic damage, do not hesitate and got for 3111.png.

  • Your next goal, sometimes, even before finishing 3047.png's, you should get 3044.png and upgrade it to 3071.png as soon as possible, the extra CD reduction and damage will definitely grant you the chance to grab some kills/assists.

  • If you're winning hard and your team really needs a front line, you should go for 3143.png (this is pretty situational, you'll have to adapt considering the enemy team). If you don't really lack a tank and you're ahead, go straight for 3147.png.

  • After that, you can go full tank, grab 3193.png3083.png. Those items are more situational now, always keep in mind the enemy team. Sometimes you'll find yourself picking 3140.png right after 3147.png.
179.png
 1412.png1400.png
179.png
  • 1412.png grants you more damage, and you'll be more of a kill threat, if you feel like your team needs some damage and has enough CC I would definitely go for this one.

  • 1400.png is also good, but when comparing to the other two, I don't really see that much of a reward on getting it.

Note: There are more choices, but those are the most popular, and also the best choices available for you.

VS

Amumu

Easy

He won't counter jungle you and has less damage than you. After 6, be careful with his counterganks.

VS

Cho'Gath

Easy

He's not that hard, but he snowballs way too much, just make sure you dodge his rupture.png and beware of his feralscream.png, it'll stop you from using your abilities.

VS

Elise

Medium

She can be a real pain, if you miss your jarvanivdemacianstandard.png+jarvanivdragonstrike.png combo, you'll be dead. She has insane damage, try to countergank herif possible. Her elisehumane.png has quite long CD.

VS

Evelynn

Medium

She has insane damage and will most likely try to counter gank you, be careful with her damage. Counter ganks work best against her, try to predict her moves.

VS

Ezreal

Hard

He can invade you early on, beware of that! He's also able to dodge your jarvanivdemacianstandard.png+jarvanivdragonstrike.pngcombo with his ezrealarcaneshift.png, and that'll make you useless against him if you try to 1vs1. Don't try 1vs1 with him early on, except if he has ezrealarcaneshift.png on CD.

VS

Gragas

Medium

He'll not invade you, just beware when ganking, he has great counterganking ability and insane damage! He can also block your combo with gragase.png

VS

Hecarim

Easy

He has more sustain damage than you, but you can burst him down, don't be afraid of him, no invades will come.

VS

Ivern

Easy

He might try to start on your jungle side, make sure your teammates ward your camps. He has low damage output, you shouldn't have a problem.

VS

Kha'Zix

Medium

Huge damage! Do not fight with him alone. Whenever you fight, make sure you have minions or someone next to you. His khazixq.png does increased damage if you're isolated.

VS

Kindred

Easy

Pay attention to where his passive his on the map, it might help you predict some his moves, but be careful, it can also be a bait, you have to evaluate the situation carefully. He snowballs hard!

VS

Lee Sin

Hard

Greatest nightmare of all junglers, he's really aggressive early on and he'll definitely invade you. I would recommend starting on red buff if you're top side. Always save a ward for the bush next to your buff, so you won't get any unpleasant surprises.

VS

Maokai

Easy

No invades coming from him, but his ganks are deadly, he has insane CC. Counterganking him is the way to go! If your ally uses 4.png when he maokaiw.png, he'll get out of position and you'll probably get a 2 for 0 in your countergank.

VS

Nocturne

Easy

He's really strong early on, but he'll probably not invade you as he wants to farm and get 6 asap. Also he ha s no escape for your jarvanivcataclysm.png , only his nocturneparanoia.png, which has pretty long CD.

VS

Rammus

Medium

He's a real pain with his puncturingtaunt.png and his tankyness. Be careful with that jungler, despite the fact that he won't invade you, he's pretty strong on ganks and won't die easily!

VS

Rek'Sai

Medium

This champion will always be a threat, he has huge damage output and his escape abilities are insane. He won't invade you tho.

VS

Rengar

Medium

Avoid standing close to bushes when you find him, and you should be just fine.

VS

Sejuani

Medium

She's really tanky and does a lot of damage too, combining with her CC, she can be really deadly! She can also escape your jarvanivcataclysm.png with her sejuaniq.png. In terms of jungling, I believe you'll be just fine, she won't invade.

VS

Shaco

Hard

I believe everyone hates playing against him, he can invade you, and he also uses 14.png. He's a huge threat! Try to change your jungle route a little, if you're red side, start on your red and ask your botlane to delay a little bit as if they were helping you, this will trick him and you'll gain some time!

VS

Shyvana

Hard

She came out really strong with the new runes, she clears the jungle really fast, there's a chance of her invading you too! Don't fight her on 1vs1, she outdamages you! She might try to get dragon really early, keep it warded!

VS

Udyr

Hard

Similar to 102.png, he came out really strong with the new runes. He has a really fast jungle clear and will most likely try to secure the objectives for the team early on, try to keep vision on dragon. Don't fight him on a 1vs1.

VS

Warwick

Hard

Really solid jungler, strong clear, good CC and sustain, do not fight him! Try to keep vision for your team and counter gank him o just get ahead of him and try to destroy their laners before he does!

Playstyle Back to Top

506.png

179.png

Early Game
179.png

  • Start Blue if on top side, with the help of your botlane it becomes much easier to jungle. If you play against a jungler that will certainly invade e.g. (64.png35.png), start on red. Same logic applies if you start on bottom side

  • Make sure you save 11.png if you have your botlane's help.

  • You're very strong early, you should get level 3 and try to find a chance to gank or counter. If your laners are all pushing, you can stand in a bush for a few seconds, hoping for a gank from the enemy jungler.

  • Pay attention on where your enemy jungler started, it can give you hints on what he's going to do.

Early Jungle Path jpg.jpg

179.png

Mid Game
179.png

  • This is where you shine the most, try to set up ganks where your enemies have no summoners, that'll make things easier for you.

  • Keep dragon control, set up ganks around botlane in order to get dragon after, especially if it's Infernal Dragon! You shouldn't care that much about Wind Dragon, but if you have the chance still take it.

  • If your botlane has taken the first turret and they swapped with top, make sure you follow them and make a 3 man play. This will allow you to not only get their turret, but also Herald.

    179.png

    Late Game
    179.png

  • This is where you lose a little if you don't have a good team combination.

  • You probably won't be able to one shot the squishy targets anymore, depends on how the game went for you and which build path you took.

  • Try to always keep vision on Baron.

  • Make sure you stick with your team in order to make some plays.

LoLEUW_ petRoXD.jpg

Player's Mentality Back to Top

506.png

Pro Mindset

The most successful players all have one thing in common, either they win or lose, they always think "what could have I done better?". This is the key for you to become closer to the greatest players, it's not about how many games you play in a day, it's about what you learn from each of them.

179.png

Tiltproof

The easiest thing to do when you are losing a game is to blame your team, even if you're right, that won't give any help on winning the game. If you really want to get into the next level, try to keep cool and boost our teammates morale.

179.png

Winning Attitude

Everyone is fed in the other team, your team is far behind and the easiest thing to do here is surrender. You might argue that it'll save you a lot of time and playing would be a waste. Yes, you're right, but some of those games you'll actually win, and you'll learn much more from hard games than from easy games that finish at 15min. Just keep focus and don't stop believing. Everyone throws, even the pros.

179.png

Think about this:

If you're one of those players stuck in Silver, you feel like you deserve much more, but you are just unlucky and can't climb, it feels like a curse that Riot put on you. I will tell you straight away there's no such thing, and yes, sometimes we can be very unlucky, but it doesn't last. If you're stuck there, you might've been doing something wrong, the proof is that people boost accounts and they know exactly what to do in order to carry a game and climb quickly. If you find yourself in that situation, I suggest watching some of your own replays, maybe your mechanics are good but it only takes a few mistakes for you to not be able to carry your team. Start thinking, what could have you done better? The other team is silver too, if you're much better you should be able to outplay them in every way possible.

Special: How to get in The Zone Back to Top

506.png

179.png
What is being "In The Zone"?

179.png
  • It's a state of mind where you become extremely focused and hyper productive!

  • Being in the zone is being completely immersed in what you're doing. Losing the sense of time is very common while in this state of mind.

  • You'll be able to predict your opponents movements and see them almost like in slow motion!

    179.png

    How to enter "The Zone".
    179.png

  • Think about what you're doing and your role.

  • Get rid of distractions. (Close the door if open. Being on a conversation will most likely stop you from entering this state as you'll get distracted easily).

  • You need a deep understanding on what you're doing. (Once again, know your role and your opponent as well).
  • Create a balance between challenge and skill. Big challenges require huge skill. Taking a step bigger than your leg will only get you demotivated. (Yes, this one is for boosted accounts.)

  • Be patient, it might take some time to achieve and master this state of mind.

  • Now that you know about it, you just made it easier.

    Flow.jpg

    Flow_balance.jpg
Source: Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, "The Flow" (1990), p. 74.

  • As you may notice, balance is key. Even if your skill level is low, a small challenge for some people can be a true one for you!

(I do not own this video.)

  • Use headphones.

  • Those sounds will help you achieve a focused state of mind.
