Summoner Spells Back to Top

Jayce I think can be taken top, mid, or even adc. It depends on what you like and what your team needs. The summoner spells you take depend on the lane you're in and your preference.

Deathfire scales well with ad and adds extra damage to your q. The other option would be thunderlords as your w can get the stacks off quick. Thunderlords is also better vs squishies as the flat pen is better than the percent.

jaycepassive.png This passive gives you a little movement speed boost each time you change form. Also note that the above skill order is wrong. You don't ever level your ult as it just gets an automatic boost. You max q into w into e but get e at level 2. 

jayceQ.png This is your main damage spell. In ranged form which you should be in most of the time its a skillshot that does damage. Combined with your e it does tons of extra damage and has extra range. In melee form it lets you go in and does a pretty good amount of damage. Max first always. 

jayceW.png In ranged you get 3 attacks that do varrying amounts of damage but all at max attack speed. This is good for pushing towers, or when you attack people. Max this second as the damage goes up from 70% all the way to 110%. In melee form it does aoe damage so just push it if you're near people. It is also very low mana cost so you can use this while walking back to lane to get tear stacks. In melee form you also get mana back from your autoattacks. So if you are ever farming alone in lane switch to melee so you get some free mana back. 

jayceE.png In ranged this spell is for boosting your q. Put this down and fire a q through it. It can go through it at any angle as long as it touches the e. It also boosts allies movement speed so it's good for them to go in or to escape with it. It has a long cooldown which is annoying but still very helpful. In melee it is a knockback. It does pretty good damage too but don't count on it to kill someone unless they are really low. This is good for ganks or to stop people from going in on you. 

jayceR.png You have two weapons ranged and melee. When you cast it to go to ranged your first autoattack lowers the enemies defense by a percentage so that's a good time to hit them and then follow up with a q. When you go to melee you get a flat amount of armor and mr and your first autoattack deals bonus flat damage. This is important to manage when you switch forms. Most of the time you stay in ranged for safety but when you switch forms all of your spells have separate cooldowns so you can q in and deal another round of spell damage.

Starting Items

    This gives you good sustain.
    This is good for more damage, and a start on your build and some sustain. Go pots if you want more early sustain and refillable if you want it throughout the game. Note if you get a refillable or corrupting switch off the bisquits mastery and go for assassin.

Core Items

    Get this asap. Then start the stacking immediately. Make sure to cast spells often to get it to stack. Your w costs the least mana for stacking purposes. Many jayce builds now get rid of this item but I still like it for the extra spammability even though it slows down the rest of your build some
    Upgrade to this when it works with how much you back with. But make sure to get it when you have 600 stacks or so on tear so you can get Muramana that's really good with your w.
    Go cooldown boost most games but if you hit the cdr cap then swap for switfites or merc treads or whatever is best that game.
    All good for armor pen. Try to get all of these items as armor pen is your best friend as jayce.

Situational Items

    All of these can be good in the right context. Any tank item can fill out a final build.
    This item is really good as a last item. Gives you some tankiness and brings you back to life when you get bursted down what more could you want??

Tips and Tricks Back to Top

Play safe early as you'll probably run out of mana. But once you get a few items your empowered q will start to really hurt. Use this before teamfights to widdle down their team so they have to either recall in which case you push or fight at half health and win the fight. You do have 2 full rounds of spells which is really nice to keep unloading damage. Make sure to focus squishies and the backline. His q takes some practice like any skillshot but it does impressive damage when you land it.
