Summoner Spells Back to Top

I'm not going to provide a huge blob of text of why these summoner spells are the most optimal for 202.png

Most attack damage carries will use this and nothing else in the meta has shifted from heal yet.

New Runes Back to Top

Masteries Back to Top

I'll go over why each mastery is chosen right below here

Sorcery

Most marksman use fury as they can maximize the usage of it , since taking increased ability damage on marksman isn't very useful as most of them rely on their auto attacks.

Jhin is an exception, since his abilities do a lot of damage due to many reasons but a short list includes his bouncing grenades which has increasing damage with each bounce, his ultimate with the increasing damage on the shots based on missing health, and his traps doing insane damage if successfully used on the enemies.

Feast

Jhin isn't a marksman who'll be focused on killing the enemy as he is more reliant on items early game and in order to get past his relatively abusable laning , he requires extra sustain compared to Double Edged Sword

Vampirism

Although Jhin gets more damage through natural talent, the extra sustain is nice because he is on the few marksman whose attack damage thresholds are far beyond the normal carry's attack damage.  The math adds up when he has 300 AD mid-game and lifestealing from dorans plus this mastery (sometimes even the cull on hit lifesteal).

Oppressor

Like I mentioned previously, Jhin isn't a "want to kill" type of champion (though lore says otherwise) he can abuse this mastery better early game as most of his supports he can be paired with can easily help set up his W (Deadly Flourish) for an easy snare.

Battering Blows

One of Jhin's most used builds start off with armor penetration ; and more armor penetration = more damage obviously. His kit can abuse the build due to the fourth auto guaranteeing a critical hit.

Deathfire Touch

Jhin is unlike most marksman , like i have mentioned multiple times. He can abuse this due to high ad caps and the usage of his abilities.

Savagery

This helps the trash marksman player to farm minions under their turret and not miss the first cannon minion in the third wave.

Secret Stash

Who doesn't love biscuits?! Instant health on activation; only affected by ignite and grievous wounds obviously. And makes the duration of potions increased; this APPLIES ON REFILLABLE POTION :)

Merciless

Pls... Do you really need mana regen?

Dangerous Game

Theorycrafting tinfoil hats on! Gold from harass or the save from ignites. Choose one!

Ugh I don't feel like going over the skills and what they do but whatever... I'll provide some helpful tricks too

Jhin Abilities

jhinpassive.png This is his passive called Whisper

There's a ton to this passive but the main niche of this is his reload system of four bullets.

His last shot is a guaranteed critical shot and also does % missing health.

Also firing his last shot also secures a buff called "Every Moment Matters" which TLDR

Jhin's Critical strike icon critical strikes grant him 10% (+ 4% per 10% bonus attack speed) bonus movement speed for 2 seconds, but his total critical damage is reduced by 25%.(Don't hunt me down no plagiarism it's from lol wiki.)

A ton of theorycrafted builds due to the passive, I'll show a call video of this right below...

jhinQ.pngThis is his Q called Dancing Grenade

which basically lets him throw a grenade and bounces four times. With each bounce , if it kills a target it'll increase the damage and do tons of damage

You can harass in lane through bouncing it from the minions to the enemy champions. You can do this from the caster minions in the backline. This applies deathfire touch ayyyy lmao.

Also considered a projectile for windwall and braum's shield

jhinW.pngThis is his W called Deadly Flourish

Er-mah-gawd izza laser.
Enemy champions hit by Jhin's auto attacks, stepped on his traps , or hit by his allies are marked with a debuff called "Caught Out"

It fires a line area of effect skillshot (considered a projectile) and hits everyone unless its a champion as when the first champion hits it stops and doesn't go past the champion.

If they are "Caught Out" and hit by Deadly Flourish they will be rooted and grants Jhin his passive of extra movement speed from his passive.

IF YOU ARE EVER CAUGHT OUT LIKE THE BAD MARKSMAN YOU ARE, AN EASY COMBO IS PLACE THE TRAP, KITE AROUND IT AND FIRE THE W to ROOT THEM.

jhinE.pngThis is his E called Captive Audience

Basically places a trap. It can explode when stepped on after a small delay and applies a mark of "Caught Out"

This thing does crazy damage if the enemies are stupid enough to stay in the explosion radius.

Cool tricks include stacking a bunch of these traps and root them in place using the W debuff and BOOOM!

jhinR.pngThis is R called Curtain Call

He calls upon his legendary curtain and gets help from a bunch of shadow cloned Jhin

Nah just kidding. His ultimate allows him to sit still and fire four shots in which they all do increasingly more based on missing health.

The last shot fired is a guaranteed critical hit which does major damage due to it critically striking.

Anyone with "Caught Out" debuff will be revealed in his ultimate when you cast it in its area.

You can either use his ultimate to start a fight or finish someone.

Point Distribution Overview

Start Q for some easy harass through the jumping grenades.

Max Q because it is his highest damage ability with a guaranteed way of landing.

Max W second due to his E being hard to fully utilize to maximum damage.

His E isn't a main damaging ability but rather an easy way to apply his W debuff and root people

Items to start with

Optimal start out for marksman is usually 1055.png
2003.pngTHIS IS NOT OPTIONAL TAKE IT FOR THE SUSTAIN AND TO KEEP TRACK OF HOW WELL YOU TRADED

Core

Currently the Jhin build is to rush 3142.png3147.png
Reason for this is because Jhin isn't completely a madman who is completely autoattack based due to his passive jhinpassive.png. Armor penetration is better compared to going a critical based build due to Jhin already having a critical shot built in.

3086.png item for the 3rd item is great for adding a bit of crit and extra passives from the upgraded ones.

3094.png Is great due to having a cheap long ranged auto; If you are lucky enough to have it charged for his fourth shot become rapidly fire charged then yay!

1001.png Choices are mostly limited to the three above. They depend on the situation of the game and what the enemy team composition is.

Situational

Obviously always build accordingly versus the enemy composition. I'm going to be lazy and head to matchups

  • Blitzcrank

  • Corki
    Easy

VS

Alistar

Medium

Playing against an Alistar , you would / should never be in his range for his combo unless he decides to Flash and perform one his combos on you.

Be wary of his crowd control and you should be fine.

In lane find opportunities on apply the root on supports always.

VS

Annie

Easy

Since the Annie rework, she has been nerfed a bit in her range and it makes her really obvious to see if she wants to Q you.

Apple the root and you will have an easy time trading

VS

Ashe

Medium

The only problem in this match-up is her ultimateasheR.png. Make sure you keep track of its cooldown and don't get hit by her asheW.png volley. Keeps trades to a minimum when her focus is up.

VS

Bard

Hard

A hard matchup due to his high base damage and his stun.

Avoid standing behind a wall , near your allies when running, or being too close to your own minions when farming.

When he is out lane either he is collecting his boosted chimes or calling for jungler and ganking through his portal.

VS

Blitzcrank

Easy

This matchup is based on your positioning and how well the enemy blitzcrank knows how to play blitzcrank. Depending on how well blitz can pressure you and your support.

VS

Corki

Easy

Easy matchup, since Jhin outdamages and outharasses Corki.

Corki currently as of 6.19 is rarely played so don't worry too much yet.
