Summoner Spells Back to Top

No reason not to go flash heal. Cleanse COULD work if you were against like a Morgana, but heal is overall a better option to take right now.

Masteries Back to Top

Deathfire touch is the keystone you should be taking. Because he is an ability based adc, the burn you get from dft can actually be seen, and is enough to net you some nice kills sometimes.

DFT works really well with your ult, and no other keystones work with him very well.

I don't usually put a point into my traps until a few levels in (7-10) sometimes not even until i'm forced too.

I prefer to rank up my q and try to bully my opponent around. You can be outscaled by other adc's, so you need to use your early game power to gain an advantage (and one way of doing this is to not put points into traps)

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

    Standard start
Build into essence as fast as you can. If the lane is really hard, cull is another option.

Core Items

Essence is good for mana so you can spam your abilities. Swifty boots help keep you safe. Rapid fire allows for better one shots, infinity edge is icing on the cake for your crit. Maw to keep you safe from mages (a big problem) and any last whisper item

Situational Items

Mortal reminder if there are lots of heals, (raka, trundle etc), guardian angel if there are assassins (or if you are super fed) merc treads work well against high cc teams (if you were vs a morgana supp) blood thirster if you want sustain over crit (replace infinity edge) and qss for more cc teams if you need a little bit more survivability. PD can work well vs assassins (reduces their dmg)

VS

Alistar

Hard

if you dont have flash its fairly easy for him to setup a kill on you. Try to create a defensive trap line, worth pairing up with a protective support.

VS

Ashe

Medium

both of you are utility adc's, whichever brings the most backup (jungler, mid, top) will most likely win. Its all about whichever one can setup a kill with their ult better.

VS

Bard

Medium

try to dodge around his stun, don't stand directly behind minions. Try not to stand to far up in the lane if he is mia, he could portal behind and kill you. (by bringing the jungler)

VS

Blitzcrank

Medium

just as long as you can dodge his rocketgrab.png you are fine. Try to keep your distance, Morgana pairs well with jhin in this situation (her shield makes it so he cant pull you out of your ult)

VS

Braum

Easy

just poke him as he goes for the targon stacks. He has no real kill pressure.

VS

Caitlyn

Medium

You might get zoned in early stages of the game, but if your first back is the same or a little bit less than hers, you start winning trades. Try to all in her so she doesnt have time to poke you down.

VS

Draven

Easy

only trade by critting and jhinq.png him. Then just back off until hes low enough that you can kill him.

VS

Ezreal

Easy

shove him under tower and pressure him while he tries to cs.

He will be forced to use his abilities to cs, or if he choses to trade he will fall behind in cs.

VS

Janna

Easy

she doesnt have kill pressure on you.

VS

Jinx

Easy

bully her early on, try to pair with an aggressive support. She will outscale you hard so you need to abuse her early on.

VS

Kalista

Medium

kalista is bad atm, however her all in is still strong and her ult can catch you out. Be cautious to make sure you arent all in'd

VS

Karma

Medium

probably the best support to pair yourself with. While playing against her make sure you have a trap line so if she tries to snare you with her karmaspiritbind.png you can protect yourself

VS

Kog'Maw

Easy

trading is easy with him, and he's very easy to catch with your ult. Careful once he is lv 6 and has sheen, his burst damage is surprisingly high

VS

Leona

Hard

be a bitch in this lane, leona's all in damage will pop you. Worthwhile bringing a janna or morgana to try to keep you safe.

VS

Lucian

Medium

lucian is quite bad atm, however, be aware of his all in potential, laning might pose a problem, i suggest an aggressive support to keep him from dashing into your face

VS

Lulu

Easy

she doesnt have kill pressure

VS

Miss Fortune

Hard

you dont have enough mobility to escape her missfortunebullettime.png reliably so you need to bring a healer/defensive support to try to save you.

Either that or bring a leona/blitz and try to kill her super fast

VS

Morgana

Hard

it can be hard to dodge her darkbindingmissile.png, and its hard to escape her soulshackles.png, need to play cautiously around her to avoid getting bound

VS

Nami

Medium

Nami can pose a serious problem in all stages of the game. Her healing negates your lane bullying, and her namir.png will cancel your jhinr.png. Most likely she will save her wave until she sees you cast your ult.

VS

Sivir

Easy

you out trade her easily. It might be hard to hit her with your jhinr.png because of her sivirr.png so its worthwhile to bring a support that can provide assistance (anyone with mild or heavy cc)

VS

Sona

Medium

She will heal your lane damage, and poke you when you try to cs. Not to mention you're an easy target for her sonar.png

However she is super squishy, and can be popped quite easily. She can make it hard to hit her allies with your jhinr.png  because of her movement speed.

VS

Soraka

Easy

going to be a passive lane, i suggest calling a jungler or midlaner down if you want to kill them. Soraka is almost impossible to kill (even if you get her low she can ult)

VS

Tahm Kench

Hard

Although he isn't really a support anymore, he is extremely sticky. Once he gets on top of you, you're going to need someone else to peel him. I suggest bringing a Janna to keep you safe.

Not to mention in early levels he can 1v1 you

VS

Taric

Medium

just as long as you keep your distance to avoid being dazzled you will be fine. He is easy to bully around in lane.

Set up a trap line so if he ults and tries to dive you they will slow him and his allies and it will give you time to escape.

VS

Thresh

Hard

He has extreme kill pressure on you. Worth bringing a Morgana to avoid hooks

Mostly this depends on the skill level of the Thresh, but he is a formidable opponent in lane. Watch out.

VS

Tristana

Medium

You trade decently with her, however, once she is lv 6 be very careful. If she gets max stacks on her tristanae.png and jumps on top of you the damage will be enough to put you in execution range of her tristanar.png

Late game she outscales you so try to bully her around

VS

Twitch

Hard

He will be looking to assassinate you all throughout the game. I suggest sticking with someone (even if you are going bot to farm bring someone along) his bust damage is high and you will be unable to escape or return enough damage to win the duel

VS

Varus

Medium

Try to catch him out with your jhinr.png and get jungle assistance before he catches you out with varusr.png  and brings his own jungle assistance.

Varus vs Jhin is all about utility.

VS

Vayne

Medium

Bully her early on. She will outscale you so you need an advantage. Try to bring someone with you to farm, and dont walk through the jungle on your own. She is the best ADC at dueling, and will kill you without a challenge.

VS

Zyra

Medium

She is like a secondary mage, so its worth bringing a defensive support. You can poop her relatively easily but need to be careful of her turn around damage.

Her plants also block your jhinr.png which is super dumb (and kind of troll)

Supports for Jhin? Back to Top

S Tier:

Karma: Her q poke combined with your own early game damage is enough to put heavy pressure on the enemy botlane, and can often secure you kills. Her shield speed up is a good way for to run up and get your fourth shot off in lane (safely).

Nami: Can be aggressive or defensive depending on the lane. Has good early game damage, and her ult can be used to peel people off of you. Not to mention if you fourth shot someone with her tide callers blessing (e) its a disgusting amount of damage.

Janna: Always a wonderful support, Janna's shield allows you to walk up and trade freely. Not to mention the AD that it adds helps you trade better. Janna is also the best support for peeling and keeping you safe.

A Tier:

Thresh: His lantern can help you position and get you out of trouble. And he provides enough pressure to allow you to safely farm. Not to mention Thresh enables you to get kills throughout the lane and push an advantage.

Morgana: Her bind, plus your w, allows for 4.5 seconds of cc. This is enough time to completely destroy someone. Her shield is effective at keeping you safe from ganks (which will happen a lot) and her ult can help peel for you or be aggressive if you are pushing your lead.

Sona: Adds a lot of pressure in the lane, has lots of good damage. More aggressive then defensive, and can't peel for you very well. Shes a worse version of Nami.

B Tier:

Bard: Although most bards lack the experience to play him proficiently, his stun allows you to get good trades in. Bard has high early game damage, and can snowball a lane quite effectively (especially since most bring ignite into a lane) His portal also gives you a good change of escaping certain situations.

Soraka: She will keep you alive as long as anyone could. She doesnt provide many offensive tools, but a Soraka can be good in a poke lane (cait, karma etc)
