Summoner Spells Back to Top

4.png (Flash) Is a must on Jinx as she is an immobile adc who relies on flash to get herself out of bad situations
7.png (Heal) Is the standard spell in bot because it provides that crucial heal and a little speed up which can save your life if you time it right. But can also simply be used to grant you and your support some hp to stay in lane. Remember that you can use heal simply for the heal.
21.png (Barrier) is an option to take but keep in mind that it doesnt provide a speed boost like heal
  1. Your support has a heal
  2. You're against a support that can burst (1.png is an example)
1.png (Cleanse) Is what you take if the enemy has 2 or more hard engages (Annie mid, or a Sej jungle for example) but be warned that cleanse will not work on knockups/knockbacks so it will do essentially nothing versus a Nautilus or a VI.

New Runes Back to Top

With the new runes there are many options to take on Jinx, this page is a page made for players new to Jinx or the ADC role in general

127.jpg
Lethal Tempo: Great for Jinx because of the attack speed on her Q and because of her Rockets
Triumph: Grants you bonus gold and some % missing HP on a Takedown (Kill or assist on Champions)
Legend: Alacrity: Gives you bonus attack speed over time by killing Minions, Monsters, and Champions
Cut Down: Bonus damage against champions with higher health, Great to deal with tanks later in the game
179.png
We take the Resolve Tree after for bonus resistances
Iron skin gives you bonus armor for surviving the lane phase
Second wind restores a bit of health overtime when you get damaged

jinxpassive.png(Get excited!): You gain a massive burst of move speed upon killing a structure (tower/inhib) or an enemy champion(or upon getting the assist within 3 seconds of damaging them), you also gain a stacking 15% attack speed buff upon triggering the passive

Useful for fleeing after you get a tower but also great at chasing other enemies after getting a kill. Remember that this is the reason your a great clean up champion. If you get 1 kill you can almost always catch up to other fleeing enemies to kill them too.

QjinxQ.png(Switcheroo!): Pow pow is a large attack speed buff that requires 3 hits to fully ramp up granting upwards of 70% attack speed. While Fishbones is a AOE rocket launcher that deals 110% damage in an aoe around your target, can crit on every target, and grants you bonus range. Fishbones will also grant -15% attack speed while it's active

Pow pow is great at close ranged DPS and taking objectives like turrets or baron, while Fishbones is the best at poking in lane and clearing waves of creeps instantly. With the current meta featuring shorter games Jinx is even better mid game as she has attack speed just from her q instead of needing to build an item for it. Your rockets are also stronger with the Rapid fire cannon item.

WjinxW.png(Zap!): Long ranged skillshot that slows and scales massively with AD but has low base damage.

Great at poking any fleeing enemies and is also good at saving you in conjunction with jinxE.pngas it applies a large slow and deals a good amount of damage with a large AD scaling. Even better now that lots of games are made early as it deals a lot of damage early, and can be used to snowball hard.

EjinxE.png(Flame chompers!): Snare that is throwable in a line that takes a few seconds to arm and deals magic damage upon being stepped on, or after a couple seconds

Useful at saving your butt when you get ganked but remember that they take time to arm be able to snare enemies

RjinxR.png(Super mega death rocket!): Global ranged execute that deals physical damage based on how low the target is and how far it's traveled (max damage is at zap's max range)

Very great at sneaking kills off of low health enemies that are backing in the "safety" of the turret. Also great for simply sending it into the middle of that teamfight happening at rift herald to get some damage down and maybe a kill.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

    Best starting items for ADC

Core Items

Item #1 is generally Hurricane although you can go IE as Item #1 if you want. Boots as Item #2
Generally you'll want to go with IE first after hurricane but you can go with BT first instead. Get these both as your item #3 and #4
Getting a second zeal item as item #5 is absolutely recommended

Situational Items

Generally you should buy 1 defensive item (normally bought last but don't be afraid to buy it earlier)
Getting Mortal Reminder is good against enemies who have self healing (like mundo) Lord Dominik's Regards is good against enemies who are stacking lots of health and armor, Both items only penetrate bonus armor (armor from items or runes )

VS

Ashe

Medium

A skill matchup that could go either way. Just watch for the ashe ult which stuns you, and be aware that her W does apply a very big slow now

VS

Blitzcrank

Easy

Dodge the rocketgrab.png (hook) and he really doesn't have much else that can really hurt you except for a flash powerfist.png (knockup) into a rocketgrab.png

VS

Braum

Hard

One of the most annoying supports to face. Try to dodge his braumQ.png as much as possible and get your support to ward against ganks. Farm up and try to out scale the enemy adc as Braum can apply a lot of early damage and annoyance to stop you from scaling.

VS

Caitlyn

Medium

As of preseason just work on not getting caught in the traps and you should be able to win

VS

Draven

Medium

If you can keep him down and kill-less then you should win lane through more damage and DPS but if he gets a lead then just try to not feed

VS

Ezreal

Easy

Dodge skill shots. Land W. Auto. Repeat till he's dead or pushed out of lane

VS

Graves

Medium

Graves deals an intense amount of damage with his Q and R and his autos. He has a high amount of burst as well so be careful around him. But be aware that his autos now act like a shotgun so you will almost always out-range him unless he dashes in. But if he does that simply throw your E behind him and auto away

VS

Janna

Medium

Annoying to face but just avoid trading while her eyeofthestorm.png shield is on the enemy adc and you might win

VS

Jinx

Medium

Mirror matchup. This lane depends purely on your skill vs theirs as Jinx, as ADC and on the supports.

VS

Kalista

Medium

You have a slow and a root. Use them to clip her jumping, then try to out dps her with Pow-Pow. Be careful about how many spears she lands in you because of her Rend which deals more damages based on how many spears she has in targets.

VS

Kog'Maw

Medium

Pure glass cannon, while he can deal immense damage with his w he can't take immense damage.  Get in it's face and DPS him down but remember his kogmawpassive.png(passive) allows him to chase after death and deal some true damage, still true after his rework-revert

VS

Lux

Hard

Dodging all of her poke is crucial as lux can deal an immense amount of burst after level 6 thanks to her ult having a high scaling. Play passive and always keep moving.

VS

Quinn

Hard

Quinn is kinda the counter to ADC's right now as with her Q she can apply a vision range reduction making you unable to do anything for 2 seconds while she's free to attack you. She also has massive map mobility with her R and high damage with her E and passive. Play it safe and don't try to dive her ever.

VS

Sivir

Medium

If she gets a lead it's gonna be a rough time for you due to her monstrous wave clear so then just focus on farming and hope for a gank.

If you get a lead then try to keep her off the farm and keep warding as she can get a lead back with her high waveclear.

VS

Sona

Medium

While Sona is super annoying focus on poking them and if she goes in don't be afraid to flash out if you think she's gonna ult, other than that just try to poke her

VS

Thresh

Medium

While Thresh has a high amount of cc and the ability to catch you off guard with his Q. But if you're able to avoid his hook and flay you should be able to out damage him

VS

Tristana

Medium

This lane can go either way as you have poke and all in and Trist has waveclear and all in, so try to use your poke as much as possible and avoid the supports engage, as Trist can deal a lot of damage very suddenly.

Pros and Cons Back to Top

14.pngPros:

  1. Scales amazingly into late game
  2. One of the strongest hypercarries in the game
  3. Has some of the best wave-clear in the game
  4. Can AOE crit with rockets
  5. Global range execute leads to global pressure
  6. Very fun to play
  7. Has hard cc (chain chompers)
  8. Only takes 1 item to start rolling unlike other adc's who need a damage and attack speed item

3.pngCons:

  1. Is kinda weak early game
  2. Has no mobility except for passive
  3. Takes kills to start snowballing
  4. Squishy like all other adc's
  5. Not the best at laning early on due to high mana costs
  6. Takes time to learn positing

HOW TO: Laning phase (0-20 min) Back to Top

MAIN THEME: Be aggressive. Be relentless. Show them who's boss.
DETAILS: Work on getting poke down with W, cs as effectively as you can, and follow up on plays.
HOW TO: Establish play-style. Punish them for every mistake. Communicate and analyze.
CHALLENGE TO COMPLETE: Have both damage and attack speed item done before mid game.

The very moment you get to lane, start analyzing your enemy ADC. What is their play-style more likely to be: aggressive, or passive? Are they overconfident with their positioning? Do they prioritize harassing you, or last hitting? Are the ADC and non-ADC in tune or is one going in while the other is way back. Take mental notes of these things, and abuse them.
If they are always aggressive ensure that the jungler and your mid knows, be communicative with your team.
Have your support know if you want to play it slow and farm heavy, or if you wanna just go balls-to-the-walls aggressive. Communication is key.

FLAMING IS NOT COMMUNICATION. FLAMING INCREASES YOUR CHANCES OF LOSING BY UP TO 60%

HOW TO: Mid game (20-35 min) Back to Top

MAIN THEME: Ramp up the pace. Become a terrifying threat. Be aggressive.
HOW TO: Constantly punish those who would challenge your skills. Get dragons and get your items finished before getting your team to force fights
DETAILS: Utilize Jinx's Q ability to her max by forcing fights.
Be the rock your team needs with DPS and objective taking.

CHALLENGE TO COMPLETE: Take 3 objectives, 2 dragons, and win 3-4 team fights during this time.

During this time you'll be able to outfight the enemy ADC thanks to passive Q attack speed granting you anywhere from 90-110% attack speed at 3 stacks, meaning that you will almost always out DPS enemy ADC's. Utilize this advantage to its fullest by getting your team to force team fights and protect you while you deal tons of damage.
Remember that communication is key, even more so now in the time of team fights, so stay positive and try to become the backbone of your team. Call the fights as you see them and focus down whoever stands in the way of victory (or destruction)!

FLAMING IS NOT COMMUNICATION. FLAMING INCREASES YOUR CHANCES OF LOSING BY UP TO 60%

HOW TO: Late game (35 min on) Back to Top

MAIN THEME: Push to win. Secure baron or the Elder dragon. Win team fights to win the game
HOW TO: Take turrets, Be aggressive allow your team to start fights and then kill them before getting the objectives that will lead to your win
DETAILS: Become the backbone of your team, communicate the objectives you should take, if you should split push or teamfight, and who to focus/protect on your team. Remember that while you are the ADC sometimes its best to focus on protecting the fed people on your team (Like a fed Lux or w/e)
CHALLENGE TO COMPLETE: Win the game.

At this point in the game you should have nearly a full build leading to a great turret demolishing champion or simply a teamfight winner. Work on ensuring you don't get caught out in a unwarded jungle or pushing a lane solo because this late into the game even if you're 0/7 you can still absolutely Wreck a teamfight simply due to being Jinx.

Remember that Communication and a positive attitude are key to winning now more than ever, keep the comms positive or simply don't speak.
