Summoner Spells Back to Top

4.png : Mandatory

3.png : The standard support spell. Use it to weaken the enemy's biggest threat in fights. If you think you'll need to survive lane phase and scale or shut down certain champions, (i.e. 238.png Zed, 157.png Yasuo, 107.png Rengar) take this.

14.png : A more aggressive choice for early kill pressure or to shut down healing. (i.e. 16.png Soraka, 50.png Swain, 8.png Vladimir) If you are confident you can win lane, take this.

Masteries Back to Top

Again, more aggressive than most other guides but is more conducive to direct carrying than standard 0-18-12 masteries. Thunderlords is an option for even more pressure, but Karma's karmachakra.pngMantra karmasoulshield.png Inspire is still her strongest offering, which benefits greatly from Windspeaker's Blessing.

karmachakra.png R > karmaheavenlywave.png Q > karmasoulshield.png E > karmaspiritbond.png W

Very standard order for Karma. In some cases, you can take karmaspiritbond.png Focused Resolve at level 2 to all in if the enemy is late to lane, especially if just the support stays to leash their jungler.

Itemization

3303.png : The best support item on Karma. Her poke in lane makes this absolutely essential for gold generation.

2301.png vs 3092.png : Frost Queen's puts you back an extra 900 gold and a few other stats for 25 AP and the active slow: not worth slowing down the rest of your build for.

3174.png vs 3222.png : The early sustain from an early  3028.png chalice is huge on Karma. Only take Mikael's if the enemy team has a lock-down ultimate that needs to be cleansed immediately. (i.e. 90.png , 19.png , 22.png , etc) Athene's gives you AP and heals on your shields, making it the superior pick in most instances.

3504.png : Amazing after it was buffed in patch 6.13. Gives you a decent amount of AP for cheap and buffs your karmachakra.png Mantra karmasoulshield.png Inspire with more shielding and on-hit damage.

3020.png vs 3158.png : In most Karma builds you will end up with 45% CDR without 3158.png Boots of Lucidity, making them inefficient in the long term. If you are ahead early, go ahead and take 3020.png Sorcerer's Shoes. Otherwise, buy 3158.png first for early CDR and trade them in later once your other items get you to maximum CDR.

3190.png : Rush this when an enemy AP carry starts to take over the game. The 3105.png Aegis passive will give your whole team bonus MR and the item active will give your team even more shielding, just don't forget to use it!

3089.png : Not inherently a support item, but since Karma's shield has a 50% AP ratio, this item is absolutely amazing. Get it whenever you are ahead enough to afford it or you are carrying your team.

3050.png : A great item to further enable an ADC who is carrying your team. You can also use it on another crit-reliant teammate who is carrying you. (i.e. 23.png Tryndamere)

3135.png : A luxury last item to make those late game karmaheavenlywave.png Inner Flames pack a punch.

3157.png and 3026.png : If the enemy team likes focusing supports for some reason, pick one of these up to stay alive and remain useful.

VS

Alistar

Easy

A very easy lane to bully; poke him with autos if he ever gets in range.

VS

Annie

Easy

Play around her stun and she should be quite easy to harass. Expect the infernalguardian.png Tibbers all in at level 6.

VS

Bard

Medium

A fairly even matchup. A bit harder to harass since he can harass through minions with his bardQ.png Cosmic Binding and meeps. Punish the ADC if he leaves to pick up chimes, but be sure to ward river/tri in case he brings the jungler in with bardE.pngMagical Journey.

VS

Blitzcrank

Hard

The threat of being hooked makes it hard to poke with karmaheavenlywave.png Inner Flame, a core part of Karma's lane phase. Stay behind minions, ward the bushes in lane, and group with your team as soon as possible. Consider maxing karmasoulshield.png E first if you feel like your lane might feed.

VS

Brand

Medium

Easy if you can dodge his brandblaze.png stun, hard if you can't. Shield yourself or your ADC if he spams brandfissure.png Pillar of Flame.

VS

Braum

Easy

Braum is a melee support with few tools to all in early. Harass with karmaheavenlywave.png Inner Flame and dodge his braumQ.png Winter's Bite for an easy lane to bully.

VS

Janna

Medium

You out-damage her, but she out-peels you: a fairly even match-up.

VS

Leona

Medium

Her tankiness makes all-ins and poke less effective and her kill pressure is a threat. Harass her heavily at level 1 but show her some respect after level 2 and especially after level 6.

VS

Lulu

Medium

She can poke you through minions with luluq.png Glitterlance and lulue.png shield your harass onto her ADC. Essentially makes this matchup a farm lane, but you are more useful later in the game.

VS

Malzahar

Hard

Walking forward to zone Malzahar off the wave is near impossible with his malzaharw.png Voidlings. He has better CC post 6 which makes him difficult to manage.

VS

Morgana

Easy

If she tries to land her darkbindingmissile.png Dark Binding, shield yourself with karmasoulshield.png Inspire and respond with a karmachakra.png Mantra karmaheavenlywave.png Inner Flame. If she tries to use soulshackles.png on you, the move speed from your karmachakra.png Mantra karmasoulshield.png Inspire will help you and your team escape.

VS

Nami

Medium

You both have poke, but her sustain can be a problem in lane. Late game, you vastly outscale her but her early CC with hernamiQ.png bubbles and namiR.png Tidal Wave can allow her to all-in you.

VS

Sona

Hard

Her sustain undoes your poke while hers will bully you out of lane. She is susceptible to early all-ins though, so try to beat her to level 2 and get karmaspiritbond.png Focused Resolve for a flash or kill.

VS

Soraka

Hard

Soraka's sustain makes your poke irrelevant. Focus her down in fights to stop her from healing allies. 14.png Is a must in this match up.

VS

Thresh

Medium

A less potent 53.png Blitzcrank. Dodge his threshQ.png hooks and bully him while it's on cooldown.

Synergies Back to Top

15.png Sivir: The #1 LCS bot lane duo. onthehunt.png On the Hunt and karmachakra.png Mantra karmasoulshield.png Inspire gives your whole team a huge burst of speed for engage and disengage in late-game fights. Just survive the lane phase.

22.png Ashe: Her passive ashepassive.png slows alongside your CC and speed ups make kiting enemies a dream.

236.png Lucian: Together, your early aggression is unmatched. However, you will fall off if you don't end the game early. Take 14.png Ignite to help with early kill pressure.

222.png Jinx:  Her jinxpassive.png passive speed and your karmasoulshield.png Inspire lets her solo-carry in the very late game, even from behind. However, you might find yourself losing hard early.
