Summoner Spells Back to Top

Before we get started...

Hey guys and welcome to this guide. I´m Haschewaschda, an ambitious diamond player from EU West, who loves to play at midlane and with Katarina in particular. If you like pentakills, stomping enemy teams, carrying your team to victory, and evil, hot and merciless redheads just as much as I do, then continue to read. I´ve picked her up in season 3 and I am looking forward to play her in many, many more games the way I do play her right now, as a pure assassin, that kills the enemy within a blink of an eye. The last thing they shall see is a hail of daggers moving towards them and catching their grasp mid-air, but then it´ll be already too late to react. They fall one by one, only a girl is left who slowly collects the daggers, while maintaining this evil and satisfied smile on her face... sounds nice doesn´t it?....

So why should you pick Katarina out of more then 130 champs? Her playstyle is pure fun, you can make enemies mad as hell by dealing tons of damage and pentakill your way through the game. It´s so damn satisfying, sitting there in the teamfight the whole time like you are completley harmless, maybe throwing a dagger at the enemy, just to wait for the right moment to jump in and kill the enemy/clean up the teamfight within a few moments. Katarina has THE HIGHEST potential to make pentakills out of all champs due to her kit, which always makes her a threat to care about and which will remain dynamic, rapid, kind of irritating to the enemy and unique as long as this game exists.

This is my very first guide by the way and english is not my native language as well, so please bear that in mind and don´t be too harsh on me ;). So now without further ado, let´s begin.

Summoner spells

Always take 4.png. ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS!!! Repeat "I will always take flash" five times now! Done? Fine, your are ready for the next summoners.

I prefer 14.png over 12.png just for the extra damage and killing potential. Getting that reset is cruical after all. Go for 12.png instead if you have good map awareness and like to roam a lot. It´s up to you, but if you are new to Kat I recommend 14.png in the first place.

Masteries Back to Top

As an AOE hypercarry assassin you want to do as much damage as possible. Therefore you skip the resolve tree completley. Even though it might help you sustaining the lane Phase better, it´s just not worth to sacrifice damage for it. More damage means more resets and resets are what Katarina is all about.

Ferocity:

- Sorcery causes more damage and you don´t need attackspeed.

- Double edged sword again causes more damage, you can go for feast for some lane sustain though.

- Natural Talent is quite weak, but at least Katarina scales of ad and ap. On the other hand don´t need lifesteal and as most of your spells are AOE the spellvamp is reduced to 0,66 % and this is definitley even worse.

- Take bounty Hunter! This mastery was just made for Kat I swear!

Cunning:

- Go for wanderer. Savagery does not affect your farm spells Q and W.

- You don´t have mana so you waste a part of the biscuits and of the blue buff. Run the assassin mastery instead. You may take biscuits for some extra saftey vs. ignite or if you are just unexperienced with Katarina.

- Again no mana to use, meditation is useless.

- Even if the armor penetration is wasted you still want to go for precision. Magic penetraition is especially strong on Katarina, because her ap ratios are quite poor which raises the value of penetration automaticially. On the other hand you don´t need cdr that much, as you get your abilities immediately after a reset.

. Thunderlords fits to Katarina like warmogs to Mundo. The extra damage helps you to get that crucial first reset in teamfights.

You see the standard skill order above. R>Q>W>E. R for obvious reasons, Q for save harass and farming in lane, then W just for damage. The movement speed bonus is nice too. E has the lowest priority due to its poor damage scaling. The skill order heavily depends on personal preference and the match up though.

- Against certain matchups that can´t hit you for free at lvl 1, you can go for W instead of Q. This includes some melees (e.g. maybe Zed depends on dodging his Q then, Cho Gath, Diana)

- It might be even useful to max out W first sometimes. Do this, if you can outtrade your melee opponent by spamming W and dancing around him (e.g. Cho Gath, Shyvana lol). But don´t do this if you are new to Kat.

- Whether you should take W or E at level 2 heavily depends on the enemy matchup. If you have to dodge cc or heavy damage skillshots like ahriseduce.pngleblancslide.png or darkbindingmissile.png take shunpo, otherwise W is better for farming.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Common start. Dorans Shield helps Kat surviving the lane Phase better
    Vs AD Champs
Against heavy skillshot based champs (e.g. Cassiopeia, Xerath, Lux)
This start is getting more and more popular. It has become my Standard build now. The

Core Items

If you are winning, this is the best way to snowball. Luden´s is expensive, yet a great item on Katarina
If you´re facing a hard time vs Zed. If there are other AD matchups that cause you soe Trouble, just build Seeker´s Armguard and Focus on other items. After some nerfs zhonyas has become a quite inefficent item
You got in Trouble vs. an ap Matchup? That´s the way to go.
Raw damage items. Take a look at the enemys Magic resist to find out which one is more cost efficent. If 3 or more enemies have 100 mr or more then you should probably take void staff.
Example of a full item Build

Situational Items

great defensive item for Katarina. It lowers your cooldowns by 4 seconds, which results in a free W and E late game. It provides time, just as Zhonyas, to let your team clean up or at least set up a kill for you too, while you are invicible.
I don´t use this item so far, because I can´t make efficent use of the active. It provides nice burst dmg though and is worth a try.
Sell your boots in super lategame and buy this instead.
I don´t like this item. The cost-risk efficency is way too low for me. Still personal preference, try it out if you haven`t yet!
Don´t Forget this when you are full build or feel the calm before the final battle. It can win games!
I don´t buy this item. Katarina doesn´t benefit a lot form the slow. However there might be some enemies where kiting would be quite effective, such as Nasus or Darius.
Interesting item. You can make some nice Plays with the active. However the other stats are quite mediocore. But this item takes it´s place on the long list of try it out/can consider you like it items.

VS

Ahri

Medium

Try to dodge her Q by running sidewards, while harassing her with your own Q. You can try to jump on her, if she used Q or W. Abuse that window, just take care of her E and the enemy jungler. Focus mainly on farming though. Her E costs a large amount of mana, if you dodge it, you automatically won the trade. To sum it up, pretty common matchup.

Post 6 wait out her ult AND her E before you ult (or cancel it very early).

VS

Akali

Medium

Akali and Katarina are quite similar to each other, still you should have a slight advantage in this matchup. Try to harass her for free with W and spam Q. Proc your Q mark and don´t let her proc hers. Congratulations you have won the lane. Abuse the fact her ult stacks need to build up.

If you both hit 6 at the same time go in! You can make full use of your ult immediately while she can´t.

VS

Anivia

Hard

A difficult one. She outscales you outdamages you, can Interrupt your ult with two skills and if you finally manage to kill her she laughs at ýou in her egg. No reset for you today. You can´t kill her post 6 if you haven´t got an advantage so far. Pre 6 you can jump on her if her q is down. Dodge her Q pre 6 is everything, after 6 just sit back and farm most of the time.

VS

Annie

Hard

Go call your jungler for a gank. Until he does, just sit under the Tower and farm. Annie outdamages you completly, don´t jump on her, unless you are sure to kill her. Her immobility is the only weakness, which makes her an easy target for ganks and creates some space for you to roam.

VS

Aurelion Sol

Medium

Don´t have a lot of experience with this guy. Just make sure you dodge his Q and Harass him with your own Q´s. EIther stay too far away from him or too close!! for his W to be useful. At Level 6 things become more complicated. Before you can use your ult you have to watch out for his Q and R. Use your mobility to follow if he ganks another lane with E. Maybe take teleport for a counter gank.

VS

Azir

Medium

This guy can be a huge lane bully. Luckily for you, he is harmless without his sand soldiers. If he uses his Q to position his soldiers for farming or harassing, abuse that and jump on him as he is left alone with zero protection. Make him use his Q and E alot, so he will run out of mana soon. Post level 6 you won´t be able to do much against him unless you have a lead already.

VS

Brand

Medium

Common matchup, dodge his skills and if he wasted his, jump on him to win the trade.

VS

Cassiopeia

Medium

Keep yourself away from your sister at all times, unless she is oom. Even if she misses Q she still hurts. Due to her immobility she is fairly easy to gank at least. Poke her with Q´s. After Level 6 don´t jump on her with your ult unless you can kill her immediatley. It´s pure luck if you face her or not while channeling your ult.

VS

Diana

Medium

So here she is the "main" Katarina counter. Due to her damage output, her following potential and her cc to stop your ult, she can be painful indeed, but that´s only AFTER level 6. Pre 6 you are way stronger, as she uses mana and a ranged skill shot which you can dodge with ease. Poke her with Q and W all the time, just save your E. Your W has more range then hers you can even try to max it first in this matchup and skill it at Level 1. Most of the time I kill a Diana pre 6 at least once and take a lead into midgame.

VS

Ekko

Medium

This should be a farm lane. Stay back as he outdamages you in a straight up fight if he can proc his passive and always save your E for safety, if he uses his E to jump on you or his W sphere appears right where you stand. You can try to poke him down slowly with your targeted Q, while dodging his Q. After Level 6 always keep his clone in mind and only jump on him if you can kill him in less then 3 seconds. His ability to turn the tides during a fight is devastating.

VS

Fizz

Medium

Your advantage is your range as well as no mana costs. In return he outdamages you completly. Always save you E to avoid a straight up fight. In the optimum case you poke him with Q´s and farm with W and autoattacks, with Q sometimes as well. After Level 6 always expect his shark and save your E for that. If you want to ult him take care of his E first and don´t get fooled by him.

VS

Galio

Medium

Well, what to do against someone with 1000 Magic resist? Abuse his mana issues! You´ll never be able to kill a decent Galio on your own, it´s possible with an early gank though. Dodge his Q with your E, the mana costs are quite high and a Galio being out of mana is like an AP Zed: useless. After Level 6 he becomes way too tanky to kill him, even with a previous lead. Even if his ult is on cooldown, his W lowers the damage of your ultimate significantly. Just push him out of lane by making him run out of mana and go roam.

VS

Heimerdinger

Medium

I hate this guy. You can´t do anything vs him, if you don´t get an early lead. He will push your lane like crazy and if you jump on him his turrets kill you in 1 second. Even if you stay away he can poke you with W. That´s why you need your jungler to gank early on. He drops really fast and with your shunpo you can jump out of danger after killing him. Still he is annonying as hell.

VS

Karma

Medium

She can be an annoying lane bully, yet easy to kill as she can´t stop your ult or dash away from it. So pre 6 this lane can be tough, but once you reach Level 6, battle´s favor is on your side. Just poke her down with Q while farming and dodging her skills.

VS

Karthus

Easy

This guy is probably the weakest enemy you can face early on. No cc to stop and low damage. Go for offensive mode like there is no tomorrow, if you don´t abuse his early game weakness, he will make you pay for that later on. Just all in him at Level 6, only care for exhaust, which most Karthus Players take. Usually you should have killed him already before he reaches Level 6.

VS

Kassadin

Hard

This guy is painful, he deals more damage then you with an even cooldown, but gains a shield too. Only harass him with Q after his shield wears off. Your usual mana advantage melts in front of your eyes if you take a look on his W. After Level 6 sit back and Focus on farming if you don´t have a lead until then. If the jungler wants to gank tell him he should do it pre 6.

VS

Kayle

Hard

The reason why I put Kayle into the hard matchup section, is not only because she outdamages you completley in lane, so that you have to sit back and farm under the turret only. Her ultimate counters the whole sense of you being part of this game. Most Kayles will wait with her ult in teamfights, until you jump onto the targeted person. Your team has to take at least two enemies low enough for you to kill them.

VS

Kennen

Medium

A farm lane, as both your kill potentials are fairly limited. Stay behind your minions to avoid his Q and watch out for his empowered W autoattack. You can try to poke him low to jump on him afterwards, but always Keep in mind that he is a stun machine. Abuse it if he is out of energy. Save your E to jump away if he tries to initiate on you with his E.

VS

LeBlanc

Medium

You won´t win the lane against a good le blanc. No need to win it though, as she has a strong early game. If she doesn´t get fed she will fall off and it´ll be your time to shine. There is one trick to win the lane actually. Most Le Blancs will try to Q into W (and proc Q stack) you. Just save your E for that Moment and dodge her dash. Congratulations she just wasted her mobility skill, which is on a fairly high cooldown and wasted a lot of mana. Bad LBs won´t learn from it and try to do the same over and over again. Smart LBs will now try to bait out your E to force you to stay back an play save. Let the mind games begin. I would recommend to buy an abyssal cepter against her, no matter if you lead or are behind. Even if you lead she still does a lot of damage and you really don´t want to let her come back into the game do you?

VS

Lissandra

Medium

Abuse the fact that you outrange her. As her Q range raises if she hits a unit with it, just don´t stay in a line with her and your minions, while poking her with your own Q´s. Watch out for her burst potential with her E initiation after Level 6.

VS

Lulu

Hard

This little brat is annonying as hell. In lane she harasses quite well with her empowered autoattacks and Q. She has two ways to stop your ultimate. Therefore she still outdamages you after Level 6. Sit back, farm and wait for a gank. Try to poke her with Q from time to time and when you see that little Butterfly on you try to predict her Q and dodge it with E.

VS

Lux

Medium

Not the worst matchup as she can´t stop you from ulting. Do everything to dodge her stuff though. Jump on her, unleash your combo and dance around her with W to avoid her trading back.

VS

Malzahar

Medium

Again someone who outdamages you completly. His only issues are his tight manapool early on and his lack of mobility. If he uses his E on you he will run out of mana soon. If he uses it on a minion it´s your time to go in for the trade. Most Malzahars use to cast their Q behind their target, as they predict that it runs away from him. Be brave and walk towards him instead. After Level 6 you can´t do shit without a gank.

VS

Morgana

Medium

She will try to push you under the tower by casting W onto your minions, so stand apart from them. Push her minions with your W, while not taking too many autoattacks from her. Save your E to dodge her Q and after Level 6 her ultimate too. You can try to poke your way with Q´s, maybe with some W´s too, through her sustain, until she is ready to be killed. Keep in mind that she can´t stop your ult immediatley.

VS

Orianna

Medium

Her shield is annonying to deal with. Like Azir, She is nothing without her ball. If she Q you, try to dodge it with E maybe even jump on her. Wasting her mana is the key to kill her pre Level 6. After she backed once she will probably have some mana sustain and can shield all your Q. If you don´t have a lead until then, sit back and farm/go roam.

VS

Swain

Medium

You can´t do anything against him without a gank. He won´t run out of mana and will heal all your poke after Level 6. He outdamages you very hard. Save your E to dodge his Q/W and farm. With your ult debuff and ignite he is still gankable after Level 6. Without any mobility he is an easy target. Be sure to kill him very fast though, or he may turn the tides even in a 2 vs 1.

VS

Syndra

Medium

Another lane bully. Similar to Brand, dodge her skillshots, poke her with Q, if she misses her stuff you might unleash your QEW combo on her. She still reamins stronger then you in lane, unless she runs out of mana. After her first back though she will have items to get better sustain. If that´s the case and you got no lead on her yet, sit back and farm.

VS

Taliyah

Medium

I think Taliyah is still a little bit too weak, making her a favorable matchup for you. She has low kill potential and can´t stop your ult immediatley. if she uses Q for farming you might jump on her with E. At Level 6 you are definitly stronger then her, as her ult deals no damage.

VS

Talon

Medium
Talon and Katarina go quite even. However he deals a Little bit more damage, but uses mana in return Watch out for his taloncutthroat.png  talonnoxiandiplomacy.png talonrake.png combo. Trade back if you got caught off guard by it. Just stay Close to your Tower if you got no backup to avoid it. He can´t do anything against your deathlotus.png, so feel free to go in when he is about 2/3 of health and you are full at 4/5 or higher.

VS

Twisted Fate

Easy

Just dodge his Q and dont get caught by his yellow stun card (W). If he uses his W to farm, jump immediatly on him, he won´t be able to trade back. All in him with your ult after level six the same way. You maybe want to take teleport to counter gank when he uses his ultimate.

VS

Veigar

Medium

Pre level 6 this guy is really weak, you have to kill him before he becomes a threat. All in him almost every time it´s possible, he can´t trade back. After level 6 he still won´t deal a lot of damage until like level 9, beside his ultimate.

VS

Vel'Koz

Medium

Another one of these poke, skillshot reliant, lane bullies. He drops instantly once you got onto him, a gank might help out here as he is immobile. Stay close to your minions in order to avoid his Q poke.

VS

Viktor

Hard

His shield from Q makes it almost impossible to trade with him. He outdamages you completly. Just sit back, dodge his E, farm and wait for a gank. This lane is just painful.

VS

Vladimir

Medium

After his first trip back he will have too much sustain do deal with him. So you can only kill him before. An early gank could help out here. He can´t stop your ultimate, just ignore him in teamfights most of the time.

VS

Wukong

Hard

Wukong beats you in almost every way. More damage, more sustain (due to items), more tankyness, more cc. Sit back and farm. The only chance you have is to poke him down with Q from a save distance slowly, but farm at the same time. After Level 6 you have exactly zero chances against him.

VS

Xerath

Medium

Just like Vel Koz a poke, skillshot reliant champion. If he misses his skills you can jump on him. His ultimate doesn´t bother you much, as yours deal more damage.

VS

Yasuo

Medium
Play VERY passive until Level 4, he is a powerhouse early on. If you manage to dodge his third yasuoQ.png with your shadowstep.png and jump onto him, you will most likely win the trade. But make sure that is shield is not up. Remember that he can only cancel your deathlotus.png with yasuoQ.png, but can block your damage with yasuoW.png.

VS

Zed

Medium

He has lower cooldowns and deals more damage then you (if he hits his spells). He can Kind of dodge  your ultimate with his and does not even use mana. GG? Nonessential, but this matchup is definetly in his favour. Dodge his Q while harrasing with your own. Your W has slightly more range then his E. Also he runs out of energy if he uses his spells without hitting you too often. Abuse these circumstances. Always buy Zhonyas first.

VS

Ziggs

Medium

Just like Xerath/Vel Koz, another one of those annonying poke mages, where dodging is the key to win. He is easier though, because his main skill to keep you away and to stop your ultimate (W), has a very high cooldown, once he used it. You can jump all in him, he drops immediately.

VS

Zilean

Medium

In lane this guy shouldn´t be able to do much. You can all in him if he throws out one bomb for farming, because he can´t stun you anymore. If he lands a bomb on you, use your E for the damage reduction. His ult will be a pain later on in the game.

VS

Zyra

Medium

Another poke champ, who prvoides a little bit more damage than the other ones, but therefore is even weaker to your all-ins, as she can´t stop you from ulting immediately. With an early gank this lane can be won pretty fast.

When to pick Katarina Back to Top

In lower elo (lets say up to Platinum 3), it doesn´t matter that much if the enemy has a lot of natural counters for your kit to prevent resets. The whole "counter" logic doesn´t affect the game a lot, because people don´t really know how to abuse the strengths of their champions over other champions to the fullest potential. It´s more a matter of how good can you play your own champ. In high elo though, everyone can play their champ at least  at decent level, the differences are nearly invalid and the counter logic comes into play. The higher the elo, the more value specific  "counters" have.

However, even if you are at bronze elo it´s still kind of important how much the initial position in champion selection is in your favor, so you can measure whether you should pick Katarina or not:

- It´s always helpful to pick Katarina later on in the champion selection. Ask especially your jungler or your botlane for a trade. Again, blind first picks are not very dangerous in lower elo (even if some teammates already flame you in champion selection for the blind firstpick Katarina), but can mess up your game in champion selection already at high elo.

- Try to get a balanced team. Guess why no one plays a team of full ADC´s or full tanks, they would just perform horrible.

- Therefore let´s take a look at Katarinas strengths and weaknesses: Katarina offers raw magic burst damage, but is squishy (at least the way me and most people play her), has no CC and no sustain. Also in order to be effective she has to get kills/assists, a huge source of her damage comes from her ultimate if the enemy manages to Interrupt it or stop you from getting kills and assist in general, your chances to win a teamfight fall dramaticially. This leads to the conclusion, that Katarina is a strong pick if:

- Your team lacks magic damage or damage in general

- Your team offers a lot of cc

- Your team is at least halfway tanky

- The enemy team has little cc

- The enemy team is squishy

-The enemy team doesn´t include champions that can peel/save someone effectively

Don´t worry if you don´t fulfill all of those points, feel free to pick Katarina just keep it in mind and make your own experiences with her.

Finally here are some things to watch out for:

3.png and the item 3026.png, unfortunately you can´t predict this in champion selection.

- As for enemy champions there are Anivia, Kayle, Kindred, Zilean, Blitzcrank, Janna, Zac, Aatrox, Lulu, Soraka, Tryndamere, maybe a few more

Gameplay Back to Top

Let´s talk a little bit about the gameplay with Katarina in general.

First off, the game actually starts in champion select, not in the game itself! Don´t be one of those guys who just firstpicks his champ and then goes afk on the toilet, while your teammates want to discuss about an invasion. You can still do this in the loading Screen. Also, the game is also on the run at 0:00 in game, not when the voice says: "minions have spawned." Being afk there might result in a first blood for the enemy just because of the 5 vs 4 invaison of the enemy, which can already set the course for the game. Now when you have survived this first step without any issues it´s time for laning phase.

Level 1-3: This is Katarinas weakest phase during the game. Don´t just walk up to throw a Q into the enemies face, unless he needs time to farm, as you will lose almost any straight up trade.  Farming and not getting poked at the same time is your main goal. Let your Q´s bounce smart to get several last hits with one dagger. Remember that your dagger will bounce to the closest target that isn´t marked already. If you are a little bit more experienced you might also try to push the minions with Q and W and lot while taking some harass in return, to deny the enemy some farm, as he has to farm under the tower, unless the enemy has too strong waveclear (e.g. Malzahar). In some rare cases, or if you got teleport, a quick gank might help you and your team out too.

Level 4-5: Katarina becomes sagnificantly stronger now. If you are able to dodge skillshots of your opponents and use the cooldown windows and mana issues you can kill them. Use your Q now for poking way more often.  Still don´t forget to farm and always play safe, if you feel uncomfortable about the matchup or the enemy jungler. Feel free to play aggressive, as you should be able to escape every gank with a ward shunpo. It´s a free Flash after all. Just make sure you keep at least one ward from the yellow trinket for that case. Play a little bit more passive too when your shunpo is on cooldown. Only jump on the enemy when you know that the enemy jungler can´t be just sitting in the next bush, waiting for a gank. Don´t give him the oppourtuinity. Also watch out for a potential minion disadvantage. You don´t want to lose a trade because enemy winions are stronger then your skills.

Level 6: When you get your ult, always think about the ways the enemy can stop it. If there is no way you can mostly jump on them (again if you know the enemy jungler is not around) if they can´t outdamage you (e.g. wait until Brand´s Q is on cooldown, although smart Brands won´t use it, because they know exactly that they can´t stop your ult once their only form of hard cc is on cooldown).

Level 7-13

It´s midgame time! Group up with your teammates and go for objectives. Remember even if your Job is to kill People, dont just randomly camp or chase for somebody. If you kill someone, you only do it to have an advantage when it comes to take objectives. It´s really important that you get this mindset. A lot of people at lower elo just don´t seem to get this and they randomly farm top without teleport when an infernal dragon is about to spawn. During teamfights wait until the enemy´s cc is down and/or you are sure to get a kill in order to beomce a reset. Go for the highest priority target. Probably the most important parts about Katarina are the positiong and especially the timing during teamfights. Knowing when to jump in and what to do after the first reset (to decide whether anohter enemy is low enough to take him out or just jump back to safety) in a confusing situation seperates the good Katarinas from the bad ones.

Level 14-18

In late game Katarina is not a powerhouse anymore, unless you are fed from the progression of the game before. Go for the highest priority target again (which will most likely be the ADC at this point). If you kill him and die in return, it´s perfectly fine, you´ve done your job. The more you´re behind the more risk you have to take though. This applies for midgame aswell.

Toplane Tankarina !?! Back to Top

Spamming spells, while being nearly invulnerable to the enemy. They try to flee but no one is actually able to do so, as you blink behind them every 3 seconds. Sounds like fun doesn´t it? It does!

Tanky and 40% cooldown reduction Katarina at the toplane? New meta incoming!! Seriously this is not a troll idea. Just go for tanky masteries like 12/0/18 with grasp of the undiying and tanky runes. Keep magic peneration stuff though. Start with dorans shield or Cloth armor, depending on the enemy. Your skill order will be R>W>E>Q now most of the time. If you absolutley need the range to farm safely skill Q first. Go for 3068.png, 3001.png, 3083.png3078.png and 3047.png or 3111.png, as well as 3742.png, 3065.png3053.png3748.png and... wait too many items already. Anyway, just make sure to get the 40% cdr and tanky items that might include some dmg as well (e.g. abyssal, Titanic Hydra, sunfire cape), to make an unstoppable sustained damage tank who can spam not only his skills for damage but is also extremly mobile with a 3-4!! second Flash. Thats a Kassadin ultimate without using mana, you just need a target to jump on. This means you can even run teleport and ignite/exhaust for summoners, as you have a REALLY low cd flash anyway. Without your ap Katarina burst damage you don´t Need Flash for the element of surprise anymore. You are able to initiate fights with that build and it is extremly fun to play by any means. Try it out in a normal game at least!

Final Notes Back to Top

And that´s it. I hope you enjoyed to read the guide and that it could help you out. Maybe I have even convinced you to pick up Katarina as your new main champ ;). Feel free to rate this guide and leave a comment below in the commentary section. Ask me questions if you like too, I love questions. I am looking forward to upload some videos and some images too, to show you even better how to play against certain matchups and use different combos.

Anyway thank you for reading and have nice day!
