6.png since it's buffs this is my favourite secondary summoner. 

1.png is a great option against heavy cc e.g. 127.png 33.png 117.png 

12.png is a must have for split pushing.

3.png is very effective for winning 1v1s and shutting down carries.

Keystones 

 32?cb=20151103094518 is without a doubt the best keystone mastery for 10.png

Pros:
  • Stacks extremely quickly due to kayleE.png counting as both an auto attack and a spell. Your first ranged auto will instantly grant you 3 stacks.
  • Amazing lategame and in extended fights.
  • Can apply to multiple targets; superior option for teamfights. 
Cons: 
  • Lackluster early game.
  • Stacks half as quickly in ranged form.
  • Requires constant autos to stay stacked. 

32?cb=20151103094742 is a viable keystone but not optimal for the current state of 10.png

Pros:
  • 10.png can proc this very easily due to her kayleE.pngcounting as both an auto and an ability. 
  • Provides more burst, however this season's 10.png is all about sustained dps and on-hit attack speed.
Cons: 
  • Not good in extended trades.
  • Not good in teamfights or against multiple opponents. 

Individual Mastery Comparisons

  • I really like 32?cb=20131122000839. It allows you to spam kayleW.pngwithout worrying about mana and gives you enough mana and HP sustain to not take biscuits. It is definitely not necessary though and I switch between the two often. 
  • 32?cb=20131122000021 is only effective when they are below 40% HP. It is definitely the better choice for late game DPS and teamfighting but if you spam you may find yourself running oom early and needing to pick up a second 1056.png

  • If there was ever a champion to take 32?cb=20131121235900 on it's 10.png. The stats it gives aren't great (676 gold worth of AD/AP at level 18) but it is a damage increase and 10.png makes effective use of all stats provided. 
  • 32?cb=20121215075345&format=webpis also an entirely viable option since 10.png makes excellent use of both lifesteal and spellvamp. Take it if you want some sustain.

32?cb=20151103094302 vs 32 (32×32)

  • Basically 32 (32×32) is the "consistent" option and 32?cb=20151103094302 is the late game "risky" option.
  • kayleQ.png applies a 3 second slow at all ranks. This effectively means for 3 seconds after every kayleQ.png you deal 2.5% increased damage. However % damage increases aren't very effective in the early game and scale up as time goes on.
  • Getting a 3116.png will allow you to slow on every auto. However by the time you are able to purchase one it's entirely possible that you will have already killed 2+ enemy players making 32?cb=20151103094302 do more damage. 
  • Always take  32 (32×32) on jungle  10.png because of red buff slow.

32?cb=20131122000732 vs 32 (32×32)

  • 32?cb=20131122000732 is my preferred choice because movespeed is your only form of mobility making it a very valuable stat on 10.png. Combine with your kayleW.png and 3046.png3009.png to become a speed demon.
  • 32 (32×32) is not really necessary since csing isn't too difficult early and is very easy once you get 3124.png.
  • 32 (32×32) is good for jungling and helps with early clears. 

32?cb=20131122001006 vs 32 (32×32)

  • Again this is basically personal preference. If you plan to splitpush a lot and duel enemies on your own than consider taking 32 (32×32).

32 (32×32) vs 32?cb=20131121235650 

  • 32 (32×32) is definitely the better choice here.  32 (32×32) will allow you to get more attacks off in a shorter period of time which is worth the trade off of the negligible damage increase 32?cb=20131121235650 provides later on.

Starting Items

    Pretty much always.
    Don't start with this. Situationally viable on 1st back when you just want to farm for your core items.
    Jungle Start

Core Items

    These are the two items Kayle needs every single game. Try to get a Stinger on your 1st or 2nd back. Never get Codex before Stinger.
    Swifties still viable despite nerfs. Berserker's for more damage and Swifties to kite/escape.
    Still very good. Synergy with Rylai's and on hit.
    PATCH 6.9 - Complete Skirmisher's or Stalker's and then finish Nashor's before upgrading into Bloodrazor.
    PATCH 6.9 - Better on Kayle than ever before! Great synergy with Rageblade for massive onhit damage.
    Example Build - Teamfight
    Example build - split push dualist
    Example build - ap burst

Situational Items

    Lucidity only if you lack cdr in runes. Merc Treads against lots of cc and magic damage.
    Splitpushing, dueling late game carries, kiting, and survivability. PD + Swifties makes you very fast. You can sell boots for PD at 6 items.
    I never purchase this anymore. Okay for sieging but outclassed by PD/on-hit items in all other regards.
    Active nerfed but still excellent on kayle. Hard CC into burst is one of Kayle's biggest weaknesses.
    Fun item. Active is instant so doesn't interrupt dps (unlike your Q). ultimate sustain item; awesome for dueling/soloing objectives. Wouldn't recommend getting early unless you are snowballing hard.
    Magic Resist Options
    Patch 6.9 - Cost/AP decreased, higher CD, and 10% CDR. Buying will probably overcap your CDR, synergy with Kayle is down.
    GA is very good. Banshee's situational.

A second 1056.png(Doran's Ring) is great for games that you need a little extra laning power in. If you die early to gank and don't have much gold or didn't take the 32?cb=20131122000839 mastery and are running oom than consider picking one up. 



If opponents are itemizing magic resist build AD items like 3153.png3139.png3086.png,3156.png, etc after your core. 

3153.png(Blade of the Ruined King) is a must buy vs HP stackers. 3146.png (Hextech Gunblade).

3001.png(Abyssal Scepter) is great against short range or melee APs like  131.png(Diana), 105.png(Fizz), and 245.png(Ekko).

3156.png(Maw of Malmortius) is receiving significant nerfs on patch 6.7 Maw making it far less desirable. It now lacks the attack speed that Kayle benefits from so greatly and has less MR.

This should be a pretty easy matchup as long as you never allow him to get in melee range of you. You should always have more movespeed than him. I recommend early 1001.png and 3009.png

Really easy lane. Shove her into turret to deny cs while killing any tentacles that spawn. Remember to keep your lane warded when pushing. 

If she ever lands a illaoiW.png on you just go aggressive (assuming she's not under turret, in a huge minion wave, etc). She simply cannot afford to take your dps so you should almost never become a vessel. If she ever goes aggressive on you pop kayleQ.png and kayleW.png kite back and she will be forced to run. If she ever all-ins you use your kayleR.png to nullify her illaoiR.png damage. 

Standard runes and masteries. I take Meditation for ability spam early game.

Tank Malphite is a free farm lane and he has no kill pressure on you but be careful because AP Malph can whittle you down into oneshot range. ufslash.png also sets up ganks easily. Don't let him get close enough to landslide.png you because it will essentially make you useless for the next 3 seconds.

You can bully him quite hard in the very early stages of the game. However with the recent buffs 57.png has seen he can put out a very large amount of damage while still being super tanky. Be very wary of fighting him after he starts getting some item components. However after you have your 3115.png 3124.png and possibly 3111.png you should be able to 1v1 him with relative ease. Also consider a 3140.png if he is a threat.

Another weak early game tank. Just don't get near walls and beware of ganks and you will be fine.

Skill matchup. You can harass freely early but be very careful you don't let her get on top of you. Use your kayleQ.png when she tries to engage on you and run away to create some distance before hitting her back. Your kayleR.png has a shorter cooldown than her rivenfengshuiengine.png early game. 


Try to ult her windslash, however don't hold your ult for too long because she may simply kill you during her stun or knockup. Getting a qss 3rd item is probably a good idea. Try to always match or trump her boots because if she can get on you quickly she can kill you. Be careful if she builds some MR like a 3156.png

Don't die before like level 3 and you should be fine. 


Disengage when he drops the shenfeint.png and beware of his shenshadowdash.png, it can set up ganks well. 

This should pretty much be a free farm and harass lane.

When he zedR.png level 6-10 delay your kayleR.png by 1 second if possible to avoid the pop. 
At rank 2 kayleR.png lasts 2.5s and zedR.png lasts 3s. At rank 3 they both have a 3s duration.

3124.png Big Changes to Kayle's Items and the Meta 1419.png

The midseason has brought with it drastic changes, many of which affect 10.png directly. 10.png is a highly item reliant champion so any changes to the items she uses can shift her place in the meta dramatically. 




3124.png Guinsoo's Rageblade - Still god tier, just different. Think of new Rageblade as an "on-hit Deathcap" meaning its power increases for each on-hit effect you have. 

3091.png Wit's End - Excellent item. Gives both defensive and offensive stats and a ton of single target DPS on top of being cheap. Good choice for 2nd item against AP laners.


3086.png Zeal Items

  • 3085.png Runaan's Hurricane - Synergy decreased. With Rageblade losing its splash damage effect Runaan's no longer transforms Kayle into the AOE death machine it once did.

  • 3046.png Phantom Dancer - Still top tier on Kayle. Better than Runaan's in most scenarios now.

  • 3094.png Rapidfire Cannon - Meh.

3116.png Rylai's Crystal Scepter - Still good. Can get this second item now.



3153.png Blade of the Ruined King - Still good.

DPS, utility, flexibility, Kayle can do it!

This is great for Kayle due to her being one of the best pushers in the game. 

General 
  • Extremely good splitpushing, dueling, and waveclearing.
  • Kills structures very quickly with an attack speed focused build.
Damage
  • Some of the highest lategame DPS in the game (aoe and single target).
  • Hybrid damage makes her difficult to itemize against.
Utility
  • Invulnerability for you or your allies with her ultimate.
  • A heal and movespeed buff for you or your allies.
  • A permaslow on autos with 3116.png

Kayle and the Meta Back to Top

So how does Kayle fit into the current meta? 

10.png is growing in popularity in solo queue, probably because people are starting to realize just how strong she is. 10.png is a great pick into a lot of meta tank top laners and her kayleR.png is an invaluable tool when facing assassins mid.  According to champion.gg  Kayle has consistently been placed within the top two highest winrate top laners for a while now and overall she is placed within the top 10 highest winrate champions. While winrate certainly doesn't always give an accurate indication of a champion's power level, 10.png is definitely pretty strong right now.


Below is an estimation of Kayle's strength across every role.

Keep in mind that this is only my opinion (though backed up with some experience and numbers).


Top Lane 10.png - 9/10

These days many of the meta top laners are relatively immobile melee tanks. Champions like 78.png111.png54.png57.png and 48.png are very common. Matchups like these are great due your ability to kite and waveclear as well as because of your kaylepassive.png which shreds through tank stats.
Strengths
  • Good into melee tanks.
  • Great splitpusher with 12.png
  • Top can be an "island" allowing you to farm up to your core items. 
Weaknesses
  • Vulnerable to ganks; being in a long lane makes pushing up risky due to weak mobility. 
  • Has some really tough matchups that tend show up often top lane 114.png133.png80.png

Mid Lane 10.png 8/10

  • A good pick against meta assassins that can get denied hard by kayleR.png
  • Kayle can struggle with escaping ganks, something that is made easier by a short lane. 

Jungle 10.png - 7/10

Patch 6.9 has been both good and bad for Kayle Jungle. 1419.png+3124.png makes your lategame absurd but falling behind early is even more painful than it was before due to the cost increase to Rageblade. 



Support 10.png - 3/10

ADC 10.png - 2/10
