Summoner Spells Back to Top

Standard jungle summoners, I use them every game.

11.png very important, you're a jungler remember ?
4.png can be used as escape/engage tool, use it in synergy with your ult if your Q isn't up in time.
3.png actually, not the best idea, because you already have your E to slow your targets. Anyway, versus a highly-mobile carry, or versus a god of escapes, it cans be a good idea.
14.png high risk high reward. Very useful early game, weak late game, your choice.
6.png this can works, because you'll be able to escape easily, and its cooldown is lower than flash. Anyway, still a riskier choice than Flash.

New Runes Back to Top

Masteries Back to Top

Agressive rune page, but is still enough defensive for early.

Mastery page updates here is why :

Ferocity tree :

Fury > Sorcery
For obvious reasons, you don't do AP damages, and attack speed is very good on Kindred.
Fresh Blood > Expose Weakness > Feast
Fresh Blood is the best one to do surprise ganks, and doing more damages on the first hit. Expose weaknesses can be good too, it depends on your playstyle after all. Feast is just useless if you know how to kite camps, you won't need it.
Natural talent > Vampirism
Natural talent is best for late game than Vampirism, and Kindred is good late not particularly early game. 2% lifesteal isn't enough to replace the 10 AD and 15 AP at level 18.
Battle Trance = Bounty Hunter = Double Edged Sword
Choose this mastery in the way you play : if you are hyper agressive, pick Double-edged Sword, and if you feel like luck is on your side, take Bounty Hunter. Anyway, Battle Trance is the best for long fights, where you kite as much as possible, and it's the way I personally play.

You can also put 18 in this tree and only 12 in the cunning one. I don't like playing that way, but if you like to do so, here is what you should take :

Battering blows > Piercing thoughts
AD > AP on Kindred
Fervor of Battle > Warlord's Bloodlust > Deathfire Touch
Fervor stacks with every single auto attack, every Q hit, every Wolf's bite, very good if you have a lot of attack speed. Warlord can be surprisingly good, and can heal you very fast, but not the best choice. I never tried Deathfire, and I doubt I will.

Cunning tree :

Savagery > Wanderer
Damages on jungle monsters > 3% mobility
Runic affinity > Assassin > Secret stash
Especially useful for clears, and when you get Rift Herald, can be really useful. Assassin is for the one shots champions, and you only do this kind of damages late in the game, if you are fed. Not very useful because you normally avoid 1v1 early game. Secret stash just don't.
Merciless > Meditation
For obvious reasons, Merciless is better, it helps with ganks and all, and Meditation is useless, because you don't lack mana that much, and even when you don't have, you can finish the camps easily by kiting, or you back.
Greenfather's Gift > Dangerous Game > Bandit
Greenfather's Gift is useful for ganks and clears. Just don't forget to walk in the bushes before attacking the monster/champion. Dangerous game is not very useful : if you are near death with an ignite on you and you don't know if you'll survive, just ult. Bandit is for supports.
Precision > Intelligence
Lethality > all for Kindred. Even CDR.
Thunderlord's decree > Stormraider's Surge > Windspeaker's blessing
There are two kinds of kindred ways here : Thunderlord or Stormraider. Thunderlord is my way of playing, more damages on the 3rd attack, not so high cooldown, high damages... But Stormraider is useful to finish enemies or to flee while kiting also. Windspeaker is not for you.

Start with W for the first camp, then max Q two times, to get your first mark, it gives you more duelist power than if you had your three spells.

kindredpassive.png Mark of the Kindred

Here is Kindred's Passive. It's the core of your gameplay. You can mark people, if you kill them, you gain damage on your Q permanently, and PERCENTAGE OF ENEMY'S MAXIMUM HP DAMAGE ON YOUR AUTO-ATTACKS. This will allow you to melt almost instantly tanks, if you have enough marks. That's why in this meta Kindred is so OP. It actually also marks camps in the enemy jungle : if you last hit the main monster of the camp (Gromp/Big Krug/Big Raven/Big Wolf) you have one more mark. When you have 5 marks, it only marks enemy's buffs (Red and Blue) or Drake/Herald/Baron. But you can still mark people. By the way, mark in priority not ranged champions or low escapes ones, they are easily to kill, so easier marks.

kindredq.png Dance of arrows

Here is Kindred's Q. It's the ability you will max first, but not the ability you'll take in first (understood ?). It's your main damages with autoattacks, and procs well as an autoattack reset. It has a high cooldown, but if you launch your W, its cooldown is instantly reduced, and when you use your Q in your W the cooldown is also lowered. One technic is to launch Q first, then just after W, you gain a free Q in this way. With this ability, you can also dash over tiny walls, and kite easily. Be careful with the two shots it does, because you can be targeted by towers easily.

kindredw.png Wolf's Frenzy

Here is Kindred's W. You start with it for first clear, and you max it in second. Very useful with your Q, at some point procs perfectly with it. Can also so some damages, but be careful. You can be targeted by towers because Wolf is kinda dumb and attacks even champions while in tower range. Same applies for counter jungling : he will kill the last monster if you don't leave the circle soon enough. But while in the circle, you become an unkillable beast, they can't catch you.

kindredewrapper.png Mounting Dread

Here is Kindred's E. You get it level 4, it allows you to do better ganks (it slows people) and to do more damages upon the third hit (Hi Thunderlord) which surprises a lot. I max it lastly because Q and W are more important. When using your R, launch it on an enemy with low hp. Hit him twice, and keep the third hit for AFTER the ult, because it will do TONS OF DAMAGE on the enemy, and he'll panick sometimes. You could maybe even One shot him.

kindredr.png Lamb's Respite

Here is Kindred's R. MAX IT EVERYTIME YOU CAN. Each level up reduces the Cooldown and augment the Hp healed. This ability is why Kindred is so good in teamfights : Your role is to be behind tanks, to be as an adc and to kite them. But, you can also GO IN, and if you aren't stunned, cced or any, when near death, launch this. You can also save your carries with it, but be careful not to save the enemies. Anyway, if both of you and the enemy is low, launch it, you just have to kite them, use your E as specified before, Dash-out (or flash-out) just after the heal, keep distance from them, and you win the trade.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

    Standard start.

Core Items

When the game isn't good or bad.
When you're getting destroyed, better take wards. Don't forget to swap your trinket.
When you are winning, pick youmuu or Duskblade.

Situational Items

After Guardian Angel, pick one of those for splitpush.
Guardian Angel is a must have, but don't forget your ult.
If game is not going so well, and your team need to be more defensive, after Guardian angel take this.
Actually, any of those item works on Kindred, depending on the enemy team.

Runaan and Guardian Angel are must have, even if you are loosing take them, these are useful for teamfights, and you can splitpush easier with Runaan.

VS

Amumu

Hard

He counters you. He cans stun you, and make you unable to use your R to survive. However, in 1v1 with similar HP, you kill him pretty easily because he doesn't do TONS OF DAMAGE like you. Just be careful of him in teamfights, your R can save allies from him.

VS

Diana

Hard

This champion can one shot you if you don't have enough Hp. Be careful. Remember, if she its dianaarc.png she will have 2 dianateleport.png don't flash out on the first one, wait for the second one. Also, her dianaorbs.png can have a pretty strong shield, be careful. And, finally, her dianavortex.png can annihilate your kindredq.png. If she keeps jumping on her, try to kite her immediately, and if you are low hp, use kindredr.png and put distance. Anyway, her early is weak.

VS

Ekko

Medium

Be careful of this ekkor.png kinky ult, don't save him with your kindredr.png or he will be able to survive twice. Dodge ekkoq.png because it does a lot of damage, and only dash out after he used ekkoe.png. Don't be predictable in your movements, because of his ekkow.png. Be also careful when chasing him because, again of ekkor.png. Put distance after he dashes and all will be fine.

VS

Elise

Medium

This champ counters a bit kindred, because even when you dash out, she cans dash on you. Let her dash, then flash/dash out, put distance, dodge her elisehumane.png and you will have an advantage because she doesn't have any real ult for fights.

VS

Evelynn

Hard

A pain in the ass. Can one shot you from nowhere, be sure to watch your minimap even closely than usual. Dash out as much as possible, or try to 1v1 her, it depends. Be sure not to forget you ult.

VS

Fiddlesticks

Medium

Not really hard matchup, your damages outscales his, but don't be greedy : he got a silence fiddlesticksdarkwind.png, a zone ult crowstorm.png, a fear terrify.png, and a surprisingly good drain drain.png.

VS

Hecarim

Hard

Well, he's a pain the ass. Don't chase him, never. Be aware of his hecarimult.png which terrifies you and does damages. His hecarimramp.png replaces you too, does damages. His hecarimrapidslash.png can kill you in notime if you stay close to him.

VS

Ivern

Easy

Passive jungler, useless early game, try to counter jungle him hard, or let him live you'll be better late game. Be aware of ivernr.png which slows you, of his ivernq.png which stuns you and allow them to dash to you. Still not so hard.

VS

Jarvan IV

Hard

His jarvanivcataclysm.png will destroy you. DASH OUT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Don't try to 1v1 him because he dashes to you, can lock you down, and does tons of damage. Don't try to kite him a long time because of this jarvanivdemacianstandard.png.

VS

Jax

Hard

His jaxcounterstrike.png counters you so hard. When hejaxleapstrike.png (jumps on you) dash out as soon as possible, because he will stun you and kill you without any possibility to ult.

VS

Kayle

Hard

Well, be aware of her judicatorintervention.png which saves her, of her judicatordivineblessing.png which heals and accelerates, and of her judicatorreckoning.png which slows you. With her judicatorrighteousfury.png if she plays good, she cans knocks you down hard, so try to kite her when she doesn't have it (very rare).

VS

Kha'Zix

Hard

One shooting beast, can dash on you easily, try not to be predictable, and launch your kindredr.png when he tries to one shot you.

VS

Lee Sin

Hard

He counters you. LAUNCH YOUR kindredr.png AFTER HIS blindmonkrkick.png OR HE WILL KICK YOU OUT OF YOUR ULT AND YOU WILL DIE. He got strong escapes too blindmonkwone.png, and good dashes blindmonkqone.png, slows blindmonkeone.png... Your nightmare if he counters jungle you and if he plays good. Dash out when he dashes on you.

VS

Malphite

Easy

Dodge his ufslash.png with your kindredq.png, and if he still hits you, kindredr.png ult if he has teammates with him. Otherwise, easy matchup, you melt tanks remember, and he is bad early/mid game.

VS

Nidalee

Easy

The meta is obviously not for her, dodge her javelintoss.png with your kindredq.png, kite her as much as possible because she cans dash on you, but easy matchup still.

VS

Nocturne

Hard

Hard matchup : he cans 1v1 you if he moves fast enough and if he has good attack speed. Remember his nocturneparanoia.png, because he cans turns a 1v1 into a 1v2. His nocturneshroudofdarkness.png cans also counter you.

VS

Rengar

Easy

He will try to one shot you, but he can't anymore, and you'll kite him, far from the bushes. Still, be careful about his ult rengarr.png

VS

Sejuani

Medium

Supposed to counter you, just don't group with your teammates while teamfighting because of her sejuaniglacialprisonstart.png, and then ult on them to save them. You melt tanks, so you melt Sejuani. You even beat her in 1v1.

VS

Tryndamere

Hard

KITE HIM AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. Use your dash after he uses his tryndameree.png to go on you. Remember his undyingrage.png.

VS

Vi

Medium

Pure skill matchup. She cans kil you easily if she hits her viq.png and if she vir.png on you, but otherwise, if you dodge her Q and if you ult at the right time, you kill her easily.

VS

Wukong

Hard
monkeykingspintowin.png fucks you hard. Ult when he dashes on you, and dash after he dashes on you.

VS

Zac

Easy

His passive is countered by your kindredq.png and you melt tanks.

What this build is Back to Top

Well, this build is actually for low elo players like me (Bronze/Silver, eventualy Gold) because it works really well, and when you are fed, the enemies don't know what to do.

Even when you aren't fed, with this build, you still do crazy amounts of damages.
Try it at Higher elo, but I can't guarantee it'll be the best.

Who am I ? Back to Top

Casual main Kindred. I have 75% win rate with Kindred for now, and I'm climbing because of them.

Discovered Kindred three months ago, watched a lot of videos, pros, and other guides, and managed to do pretty nicely on him since it's not so hard.

Tips Back to Top

This section will be updated often, but I don't always have time sorry.

Start blue buff with kindred, smite if you want, he does less damage than Red, and is slower. Then, go on gromp, then on wolves. Your first mark appears at 2.30, don't forget to watch, because after the wolves you should go straight to it. Your early marks are very important, you can be fed by having a negative KDA but a lot of marks.
DON'T FORGET TO MARK THE ENEMY JUNGLER AT THE BEGINNING
Mark in priority champions which have no escape/hits you directly, because it's easier to kill them.
You can also do mindgames, by marking toplane but suddenly ganking midlane.
Don't forget that your mark is put 8 seconds after you clicked on the icon.
In YoloQueue, use your ult to save yourself in priority, don't try to flash ult to save an ally, at low elo they generally don't know how to use it properly. When the ult finishes, and if an enemy is in it, dash out just after the heal to put some distance between him and you, you'll be able to kill or survive easily if you aren't close to the enemies at the end of the ultimate.

WIP

Why is this build special ? Back to Top

Well, this build turns Kindred into BEASTS. Let me explain :

When you play Kindred the first time, you normally (if you are a beginner) take jungle and adc items, with adc masteries. But, the problem is that : okay, it works. But, with this build, you are not a normal adc just wandering in the jungle : you are a distance 'assassin' which can survive with the ult long enought to deal TONS OF DAMAGE (thanks Phreak), and can even be able to survive in teamfights while destroying the enemy team.

First clear Back to Top

This first clear could seem pretty weird to a lot of you, but I do it, and it works so whatever.

I always start blue. kite him, ask laners to tank it a bit, and Smite it when it hits 390 hp to get health back. If you didn't lost any hp, or not that much, don't smite it.
I then go to Gromp, which i NEVER EVER smite, because it does practically no damage, it's just long to kill. Then, after, we go to wolves, and you smite the big one at the end if you didn't smite blue buff. Otherwise, just clear it.
With this build, you should be scoping to finish the first jungle's part by 2:25-2:35/40, your first mark appears at 2:30 remember ?
If it's the river frog, no wonder the side it is on, go on it. Try to avoid being seen still, and ward around because some junglers are cruel enough to steal it, or to kill you when you try to get mark. If it is near mid, tell your midlaner you're going there, ward to see if the jungler comes or not, and ALWAYS preserve your smite for marks/baron/drake, these are the monsters you ABSOLUTELY SHOULD SMITE, because anyone can steal them from you.
If you got gangbanged at your first mark, well no luck, farm as much as possible in your jungle, if you can't see the enemy jungler and if you don't know at all where he cans be, DO NOT go for marks, even the safest if these are in his jungle. Try to get marks by assisting or kill people, but play safe if your early is fucked up, and FARM.

For first clear, you can ask for a strong leash too, in order to save your smite for your first mark. (I do this most of the time)
Ask your teammates to ward your red at 1.30, just in case you're getting invaded.
