Summoner Spells Back to Top

4.png Flash, of course, is a must have on almost every champion

14.png Ignite is for lane dominance, and that's a key aspect of kled. You have to keep fighting and fighting and fighting and establish your dominance. Ignite is very good for level 2 all-ins.

12.pngI only take this against... maybe one champion: Heimer. That's because I know I can't win that lane. If you think you can't win a lane no matter what and are just going to be stuck under turret, then take this over ignite.

Masteries Back to Top

Quick rundown on why I use the masteries that I do:

I prefer fury for obvious reasons. I try to trade whenever my w is up, so I'll take freshblood over the others. lane dominance is key.

Extra damage in lane because if I need lifesteal then I'm behind and have already failed. Double edged sword because Kled excels in quick trades, and that gives you the maximum damage boost in lane.

Battering blows for obvious reasons. Fervor is key on kled because of how fast he stacks it. Very strong.

I take 12 in resolve because getting knocked off your mount early in a lot of matchups will lose you the lane right there. Need the extra health and magic resist and protection against basics. Fearless is very important because it helps in short trades quite a bit, which is where kled excels.

I've seen people take thunderlord's (don't do that) and Courage as well. Courage is actually pretty viable, but it doesn't support kled's playstyle of lane dominance nearly as much as fervor, so I suggest not taking it.

Always max q first. Useful for cs'ing, poking, engaging, and everything else. W max second for CD and damage. E last. Pretty simple. I can't think of a situation where there's any other order to this.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

This is my standard start. I prefer it over doran because it gives me a lot more sustain. Again, getting knocked off your mount early is pretty much a lost lane.
I thought I'd throw this up here because it's a very viable start, but if the enemy is smart and can get you low with poking or superior trading and you don't have extra pots, you'll need to back.
This should be your goal on your first back in most matchups.
I take this over caulfield in lanes against juggernaut or lanes I'm not doing well in.
First back buy if ahead of a squishy opponent or losing badly.
Invalidate most ap champions with this item. I suggest completing the other core items first.

Core Items

Core offense items. they're just too good on kled to deviate from.
I prefer ninja tabi, but merc treads are great.

Situational Items

These are all great defense items to buy on kled. Usually I get 2 of them.
Now, I'll probably get shunned by other diver players for this, but I love getting this item as my last item if I'm ahead of everyone. Lethality and spellshield come in handy and amp up the kled damage even more.

With kled, my offense items never really vary. There's never a bad time to get those 3 core items. 80% of the time I get 2 situational defense items, but occasionally go for a very damage-heavy build. The more you can go ham, the more success you'll have with this champion.
