Summoner Spells Back to Top

You always want to take these two summoners. Smite is just so you can clear the jungle and since Tracker's Knife was removed, you need the flash to pull off kick combos.

New Runes Back to Top

This is a more utility-based Lee Sin build. Korean Lee Players take these runes because it allows them to get a lot more kicks off than normal. With these runes, your kick can get up to a 40 second cooldown. If you are more of an aggressive Lee Sin player that wants more kills, replace the secondary with precision and take triumph and coup de grace.

This is a typical Lee Sin ability tree. You max Q first because it is your main damage ability. You max W second for the shield and utility. If you are super fed on Lee, max E instead of W second.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

You usually want to go this for starting items because it gives you a lot more sustain in the jungle and you won't have to spend the 150 gold later on for the refillable especially since Lee Sin doesn't really need the potions that bad if you know how to play him.
Rush Skirmisher's, Boots, Tabi. If you are not doing well, don't go for the tiamat.

Core Items

If against a tank, go Stalker's Blade. Hold the Tiamat in your inventory until your last item, then you go Hydra. If you are more fed, go Ravenous instead of Titanic. Also, build is out of order... Go Warrior, Tabi, Cleaver, Dead Man's, Sterak's, Hydra. This build will cost you 16,225 gold.
Go this path if you are behind or if you need a tank really badly. Build also out of order... Go Warrior, Tabi, Cleaver, Dead Man's, Randuin's, Warmog's

Situational Items

Spirit Visage - MR/Heals on team, instead of Dead Man's Plate Randuin's Omen - Crits on enemy, instead of Sterak's Gage Mercury's Treads - MR/CC, instead of Tabi Triforce - If you are really fed, instead of Dead Man's Plate Mobility Boots - If you are really fed, instead of Tabi Yoummus - If you are really fed and want one shots, instead of Hydra.

VS

Aatrox

Medium

Early game, take your two buffs without using smite, then invade at level two and steal his buff and kill him. It will relieve a lot of pressure from Aatrox. Later on in the game, if you can keep him off yourself and your team with your kick, you will do fine.

VS

Amumu

Medium

Take two camps and don't smite and invade level 2. This will make the matchup very easy for you until late game, where it will be a matter of which champ uses their R's better.

VS

Camille

Easy

You should be able to invade after taking your first two buffs if you haven't smited the first two camps. Late game, If someone on your team gets ulted by Camille, you can kick the Camille out of her ult, negating the effect.

VS

Cho'Gath

Hard

He is extremely difficult to kill late game, so you need to gank as much as possible and counter jungle the Cho'Gath. Do everything you can to end the game before late game, or else the game will become very difficult.

VS

Diana

Easy

Take your first two camps without smite and invade level 2. Keep counter jungling and gank a lot to try and delay Diana from getting level 6. If you and your team are fed enough by the time Diana hits level 6, you should have no problem killing her.

VS

Dr. Mundo

Hard

You are basically screwed if you are against Dr. Mundo. You will lose if you try to invade. All you can do is in teamfights, try to keep him away from your team with your kick and gank early game to try and get your team fed enough to be able to deal with Mundo.

VS

Elise

Easy

You should be able to invade level 2 after taking your first two buffs. If you can side-step her cocoon, you should be able to 1v1 her easily if you are even with her.

VS

Evelynn

Easy

Invade and counter-jungle all the time. This matchup is extremely easy if you gank and get a few levels up on the Evelynn. If you invade level 2 after you first two camps, it will already make your game a lot easier.

VS

Fiddlesticks

Hard

He will fear you if ever try to Q or ward hop towards him. He will also out-damage you in late-game teamfights. All you can really do is bait out his fear and ult him away if he ults into your team.

VS

Gragas

Medium

Invade level 2. Most of the game after that, he will be very difficult to kill. Keep him off your team in late game fights and you should do fine.

VS

Graves

Hard

He will out-damage and out-farm you basically all game. You need to gank more than him and counter-gank when possible. Try to always know where he is so you can counter-gank or let your team know to be careful.

VS

Hecarim

Easy

Probably one of the easiest matchups you can get. Invade level 2 and you should find him at around 1/4 hp, which makes for a super easy kill. If you can out-gank him after that you should have a very easy job. Try to catch him out in the jungle because he is very easy to 1v1 if you have a lead.

VS

Ivern

Hard

This champion basically keeps you from farming all game. All you can really do is do your very best to take the important camps like red and blue buff and have vision in your jungle so if you see the Ivern you can collapse on him with another laner. Also try to gank a lot since your jungle will be gone most of the game.

VS

Jarvan IV

Hard

His ganks are much better than yours for the most part. Try to have vision on him as much as possible and kick him whenever he tries to ult your team. Keep him off your team in late-game teamfights and you should do okay.

VS

Jax

Medium

He is very hard to kill because of his counter-strike. Keep him off your team and try to cc him and he should not be much of a threat. Try to end the game in the early game or he will have much more presence in the late game than you do.

VS

Kai'Sa

Medium

Kill her whenever you can in the early game. Invade level 2 and do your best to out-gank her and you will do fine. Don't let her get fed or she will destroy you late game. Try to end out the game in early or mid game.

VS

Kayn

Easy

This is my personal favorite matchup. Invade level 2 and you will almost always be guaranteed a kill. Counter-jungle the Kayn and get vision of him so you can delay his transformation. If he takes shadow assassin, kick him away from your team if he goes in. If he goes Darkin, don't let your team get cc'ed.

VS

Kha'Zix

Hard

He will out-damage you most of the game. If you get a good leash, you can invade him level 2 since his first clear is very bad. For most of the game after that, he will out-damage you. Have vision on him so he doesn't gank and have your team stick together so he can't isolate any targets.

VS

Kindred

Medium

You should be able to invade level 2 and kill her. Pay attention to the map so you can take the marked camps away from her. Have a laner rotate so you can fight her in the jungle and maybe pick up some easy kills. Late game, you can kick her or one of her teammates our of the Kindred ultimate and pick up a free kill.

VS

Lee Sin

Medium

You would only really be getting this in ARAM or Blind Pick Games. All you can really do is keep him from getting a good kick on your team and outskill him as much as you can. If he is the better Lee Sin, you will obviously lose.

VS

Maokai

Hard

You should not be able to kill him in any stage of the game. Gank whenever possible and when it comes to late game teamfights, bait out his W then kick him away.

VS

Master Yi

Medium

Invade level 2 and you might be able to kill him if you got a good leash. In the fights with Yi, bait out his Q then kick him. Try cc him as much as possible and if he gets fed and he Q's you, get under turret before the duration runs out.

VS

Nidalee

Medium

Invade level 2 and you should find her at relatively low health. After that, you can invade and counter-jungle from time to time. Whoever has more successful ganks in the early game wins. If you can dodge her spears in the 1v1 you will almost always win.

VS

Nocturne

Hard

He will always out-gank you and have more presence overall around the map than you do. Invade level 2. Gank lots before Nocturne has level 6 and have vision around the map to know where he is. When he has his R, predict where he will use his ult and try to counter-gank.

VS

Nunu

Hard

I'm sorry for your loss. All you can really do is kick the Nunu out of his R channel. You cannot invade level 2 and he will be too tanky to kill all game. He farms faster than you and also probably has time to invade and steal a few camps along the way. He has equal or better ganks than you because of the perma-slow and movement speed buff he has with his W. You also cannot contest larger objectives like Rift Herald, Dragon, and Baron because of his Feast.

VS

Olaf

Medium

You might be able to invade at certain points in the game. Try to have vision of Olaf at all times. In later fights, because of how tanky he is, you will most likely not kill him. All you can really do is try kite him out while he is ulting and kick him away when his ult runs out.

Combos Back to Top

Most basic combo - Q --> Q --> R --> F, basic Insec if you just want to gank. Really hard to mess up. Use the Flash to redirect your kick, whether it be to hit another enemy or to hit them to your team.

Basic Combo v2 - Q --> Q --> Ward --> W --> R, use if Flash is down or if you are more confident in your skills, use ward hop to change the direction of the kick.

In and Out - Q --> Ward --> W --> R --> F --> Q, use if you are not confident in escaping and if you are pretty confident in your Lee skills.

In and Out v2 - Q --> F --> Ward --> W --> R --> Q, same this as first "In and Out". Much more risky because if you miss the Q you will have wasted the Flash.

Driveby Insec - Need two targets, Q the further target --> Ward in front of first target --> W --> Q before your W animation ends --> R while mid-Q. Probably the most difficult Lee Sin combo, only reason you would use it is if you are EXTREMELY confident in your Lee Sin skills and mainly for style points.

Q-->Smite, Q and smite a minion in between you and your target, gives your enemy a false sense of your security

Jungle Pathing Back to Top

Normal Path - Red Buff --> Wolves --> Blue Buff --> Gromp --> Back or Gank

Invade Matchup if enemy starts Red - Blue Buff --> Red Buff --> Enemy Blue Buff --> Gank
Invade Mathcup if enemy starts Blue - Red Buff --> Blue Buff --> Enemy Red Buff --> Gank
Weak Enemy Laner Early - Red Buff --> Gank --> Wolves --> Blue Buff --> Gromp
Full Clear - Blue Buff --> Gromp --> Wolves --> Raptors --> Raptors --> Red Buff --> Krugs
