Summoner Spells Back to Top

506.png

4.png
Flash

4.png is vital for most and Lissandra is no different, it is essential for positioning and defensive purposes. It can also be used for offensive purposes to secure kills but you have to consider whether it is worth putting your only escape on cooldown for 5 minutes in exchange for a potential kill.

  • If you are in trouble and need to Flash, try to wait until the enemy uses an ability to dodge it.
  • Try and position yourself near terrain, you can blink over for a more secure escape.
  • Never Flash directly into the enemy team for a kill, especially in the late game.
  • Always be ready to react to enemies that Flash onto you.
  • Combined with your lissandrae.png you may be able to jump over two walls.
179.png

12.png
Teleport

12.png is my standard summoner because it allows us to countergank/gank without leaving the lane and leaves room to be aggressive in the earlier levels if you have 12.png and your opponent does not. In the mid/late game you can go to heavily pushed sidelines and push them back out as you have great wave clear while having the safety of 12.png to join fights.

It is important to remember that at some stages in games 12.png is not a good enough substitute to you actually being there as the fight may already be lost in the cast time.

New Runes Back to Top

506.png
Electrocute.png?width=64

Primary (Domination)

Lissandra is capable of huge burst damage to a single target and Electrocute.png?width=32 compliments that nicely. There are not many alternatives we can take here apart from exchanging Zombie%20Ward.png?width=32 for Eyeball%20Collection.png?width=32 if you prefer additional AP over extra vision.

Secondary (Sorcery)

Because lissandrar.png has such a long CD, The%20Ultimate%20Hat.png?width=32 helps reduce that significantly. I take Celerity.png?width=32 to help with roaming and hunting enemies which stacks nicely with Relentless%20Hunter.png?width=32.
179.png
Summon%20Aerie.png?width=64Arcane%20Comet.png?width=64

Primary (Sorcery)

Having Sorcery as a primary is great for a mage such as Lissandra.

Taking Summon%20Aerie.png?width=32 or Arcane%20Comet.png?width=32 depends on how you want to play your early game. If you are going to constantly harass or are against a melee champion, Summon%20Aerie.png?width=32 and Scorch.png?width=32 is the better choice. Arcane%20Comet.png?width=32 and Gathering%20Storm.png?width=32 is the better option for a passive, farming lane.

lissandrapassive.png helps keeps your mana pool healthy so I find Manaflow%20Band.png?width=32 to be not as useful as The%20Ultimate%20Hat.png?width=32. However, if you plan to play aggressively early, then it can be a viable option.

Secondary (Domination)

Lissandra's range on both her attacks and abilities are lower compared to other mages so we take Taste%20of%20Blood.png?width=32 to help sustain through any harass in the early game. Relentless%20Hunter.png?width=32 is great because she is highly dependant on positioning and lissandrae.png is not enough to compensate for her lack of mobility.

506.png

lissandrapassive.png
Iceborn (Passive)

This allows you to sustain your mana especially during the early game. Your lissandraq.png has a very expensive mana cost of 85 at level 1 (same at all levels) so it is important to time your abilities with this passive or you will run out of mana.
179.png

lissandraq.png
Ice Shard (Q)

Ice Shard is your main source of damage and a useful harassing tool. Because the shards can pierce units and continue on, it is important to constantly zone (especially melee champions) so if you were to hit a minion it would pierce and hit your enemy as well.

The range on this is quite short so you may find yourself being zoned instead.
179.png

lissandraw.png
Ring of Frost (W)

Ring of Frost is your main defensive tool apart from lissandrar.png. It is also very useful when getting ganks or ganking yourself but it should be noted that the duration of the root is very small at just over one second. Unless you are sure you cannot die, this should always be saved to defend yourself or to kill rather than harassing or last hitting.

Remember, you can cancel channeled abilities or spells such as 12.png.
179.png

lissandrae.png
Glacial Path (E)

This is your main initiation/escape tool and is also very useful for clearing waves. Similarly to lissandraw.png, it should only be used to initiate or escape. If you are getting ganked, it is generally a good idea to cast this, run towards your enemy and lissandraw.png them before blinking. Be careful as this will not always work, especially against junglers or mid laners that have a hard crowd control ability.

Remember, this can be cast through terrain allowing you to blink past walls.
179.png

lissandrar.png
Frozen Tomb (R)

Frozen Tomb is similar to lissandraw.png as a defensive tool but it can also be used to immobilize an enemy champion. As a defensive tool, you can make yourself immune, similarly to 3157.png, and heal. This is great for when you are about to die, to zone for your team or dodge skillshots. On the other hand, as an offensive tool, you can stun an enemy champion and deal moderate damage.

The decision on whether to use it on yourself or the enemy changes from game to game.

Core Items

Look to build 3152.png for your first item, prioritizing 3145.png in your build path. For me, this item is a must have as not only does it increase your burst damage and make you tankier, but the active allows you to get in range to cast your lissandrar.png.

3285.png is an alternative starting item which will provide great stats for AP, CDR and mana, along with some extra burst damage. Build this if you think team fights will be extended.

3157.png is great with your lissandrar.png providing you with 5 seconds of stasis in a fight which is great for a mage who will eventually be in the front lines.
179.png

Situational Items

If you are having a good game, 3089.png is a great item to boost your overall DPS but I recommend 3135.png first, especially if the enemy is building MR.

3165.png is essential if you need Grievous Wounds but if do not need it immediately, you can build 3916.png instead for the extra Magic Penetration. For long drawn out fights, 3151.png is a great item against tanky lineups and also works well as almost all of your abilities have some sort of crowd control effect.

3907.png is great if you want to burst one champion, potentially adding 100 AP to your combo.

In some cases, you will need to build defensively to counteract assassins such as 84.png or 55.png. In this case, 3001.png is a great purchase as not only does it give you extra defense but also extra offense thanks to its passive. Against crowd control heavy teams or long range magical damage, 3111.png will help mitigate both.

Combos Back to Top

506.png

Unlike other champions, Lissandra does not have a specific combo to rely on because her lissandrar.png can be used on herself or the enemy. It also depends on the enemy composition and what items they have.

Standard Pre 6 Initiation: lissandrae.png --> lissandraw.png --> lissandraq.png

Pre 6 Initiation w/ Flash: 4.png --> lissandraw.png --> lissandraq.png --> lissandrae.png

Ultimate Combo: lissandrae.png --> lissandraw.png --> lissandraq.png --> lissandrar.png  --> lissandraq.png

Ultimate Combo w/ Protobelt: lissandrae.png --> 3152.png --> lissandraw.png --> lissandraq.png --> lissandrar.png  --> lissandraq.png

Ultimate Combo w/ Flash: 4.png --> lissandraw.png --> lissandraq.png --> lissandrar.png --> lissandraq.png --> lissandrae.png

Defensive Combo: lissandrae.png --> 3152.png --> lissandraw.png --> lissandraq.png --> lissandrar.png (Self) --> lissandraq.png --> 3157.png (Optional) --> lissandraq.png --> lissandraw.png

If the enemy has 1.png or items that can remove your crowd control use lissandrar.png first and then follow with lissandraw.png because the cast time is instant.

Early Game Back to Top

506.png

The early game is heavily dependant on the range of your opponent.

If you are against a melee champion, continously pressure with lissandraq.png and your basic attacks. Remember, it is important to utilize lissandrapassive.png. While not every lissandraq.png has to be with lissandrapassive.png, a majority will. While it is going to be very tempting to use lissandraw.png as a harassing tool you need to hold it because once you use it they will be free to jump on you.

Ranged champions can vary but in most cases results in a farming lane. Use your lissandraq.png to control the waves and to assist with last hitting. If you are getting zoned or potentially might be, you can expend your mana pool harassing and pushing waves into their turret, recall and then 12.png back to lane.

Once you hit level 6, you gain a huge power spike and you should look to use lissandrar.png whenever possible. It is vital to check at the start of the game whether anyone on the enemy team has taken 1.png. If you have taken Electrocute.png?width=32 it is important to remember that 1.png does not reduce the damage they take, so it is important to lead with your lissandrar.png and if they 1.png immediately follow with lissandraw.png.

In most cases, you will use lissandrae.png to engage but sometimes they will position themselves at a far enough distance that you cannot. If you can kill them by landing your abilities, consider using 4.png. Remember to lead with lissandraw.png as the cast time is instant. This can be used throughout the game.

Mid Game Back to Top

506.png

This is where you can begin to roam and pressure other lanes or stay and pressure your own lane if 12.png is available. I heavily advise against roaming if your lissandrar.png is down as it is such an important tool for controlling team fights.

If you chose Electrocute.png?width=32, you can also look to hunt the enemy jungler if they are not a tank. I also recommend levelling lissandraw.png over lissandrae.png second. To assist with this, place wards near the Raptor camp to scout their movement.

If you are behind wait for the enemy to push into your turret and use your abilities to clear the waves. If they freeze instead you either need to request assistance or not show yourself in the lane to bait them into pushing.

In fights, choosing the right time to go in is key to surviving and winning the fight. Remember, your enemies can see the path of lissandrae.png so it is important not to lead with it as they can just run or crowd control you as soon as you blink. Your priority target should be whoever you can assassinate with your team or even by yourself.

Late Game Back to Top

506.png

Similarly to 1.png, you have to be on the constant lookout for 3140.png and 3222.png. If you consistently get your crowd control dispelled, you should instead prioritize getting the maximum impact out of your area of effect damage and slow. One of the best ways to do this is to engage with your lissandrae.png and immediately lissandrar.png yourself. In some cases, you can use your other abilities before lissandrar.png but you risk dying before you can cast it.

Similarly to the mid game, fights will depend on finding that right time to engage. If you cannot find an oppurtunity then just use lissandraq.png and be patient. Never try to force an engagement out of nowhere because at this stage of the game the enemy should have the necessary to deal with your crowd control and damage.

With that being said, depending on how far ahead you are, you may still be able to OHKO a majority of the enemy team. While getting takedowns are important, you can also use that advantage to zone the enemy away from objectives such as Dragon or Baron.
