Summoner Spells Back to Top

  • 3.png - Great offensive or defensive spell. I prefer that on all supports, especially against carries with built-in attack speed steroids (18_64.png21_64.png29_64.png104_64.png110_64.png119_64.png133_64.png222_64.png).

  • 14.png - Offensive spell which deals true damage and reduces all healing effects on target, I usually take it against supports with healing abilities (9_64.png12_64.png16_64.png37_64.png40_64.png44_64.png267_64.png).

  • 4.png - Usefull for engage or disengage. Pretty much mandatory for any champion with no dashes.

Masteries Back to Top

  • Ferocity: You're a support, you don't need that.
  • Resolve: Reduced damage from autoattacks, health, reduced summoner spell cooldown. Great for laning and midgame.
  • Cunning: With season 6 the cunning tree (utility) includes some neat masteries that synergise well with offensive supports like Lulu. Precision empowers her spell and autoattack poke and Thunderlord's Decree is really easy to proc due to her slows and speedups, resulting in some heavy harass.

Since Lulu is a support, her main poke ability (Q) has pretty decent base damage, so you'd always want to max it first. Also, since they changed her polymorph (W) to scale with levels and nerfed her shield (E) damage I prefer to level W second for increased polymorph duration and longer speed buff. Use E to reposition Pix for safe poke or transfer passive to your marksman.
Always level up your ultimate (R) at levels 6, 11 and 16.

Mostly, just rank up what you need depending on a situation.
Longer slows - Level Q
Longer polymorph - Level W
Bigger shield - Level E

  • Pix, Faerie Companion (Passive): Her passive is her Pix. He aids her or her allies autoattacks if she chose to reposition him with her E (shield) with 3 bolts, each dealing magic damage. Bolts can be intercepted by enemy units. If nobody is in a need of shield, always try to use E on a target with highest attack speed (usually your carry).

  • Glitterlance (Q): Her bread and butter. Glitterlance fires a magic missile from both Lulu and Pix which slows enemies for 80%. The slow decays over time, can be cast at odd angles making its diameter around 1800 units (925 in each direction) and can be further extended by repositioning Pix with her E giving Glitterlance range of 2925 units. Use this ability to poke, chase or break chase.

  • Whimsy (W): Can be cast on enemy or allied units. If cast on enemy, the target is silenced, has its base movement speed reduced by 60 and is unable to attack for the duration. On ally cast the target gains 30% movement speed for 5 seconds. Speed up your carry while the enemies are slowed so he can kite effectively or polymorph their damage dealer instead. Can also be used to break channeled abilities.

  • Help, Pix! (E): Can also be cast on both enemy or allied units. On enemy cast the target takes damage and is revealed for 5 seconds. On ally cast the target is shielded and Pix aid their attacks instead of Lulus. Use this to shield your ally or reposition Pix for safe poke with Glitterlance.

  • Wild Growth (R): Her ultimate gives a target allied champion bonus health (it is not affected by Ignites or Grievous Wounds healing reduction) and knocks up nearby enemies. The ally gains an aura for the duration that slows all nearby enemies. Useful for saving an ally or knock up when your tank initiates, allowing your team to follow up because of the slow aura.

Try to autoattack as much as possible to make the most out of your passive.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Casual start with some sustain and vision.
    Against heavy harass.

Core Items

    Full build.

Situational Items

    Against heavy AP.
    Against full AD.
  • Start: Casual start with some vision and sustain for farming lanes, doran start gives you sustain against heavy harass.
  • Core: Core is pretty much core against balanced team composition. Try getting 2049_32.png on your first back and replace 3340.png with 3351_32.png. Also, try upgrading 3303_32.png into 3092.png as soon as possible, since it doubles your gold generation and provides you with a nice mana regeneration and power boost due to its active and 3341.png into 3364.png at level 9. Grab your 1001_32.png and pieces of 3105_32.png next. Your first major items should be 3222_32.png and 3190_32.png depending on enemy team composition, might also want to finish your 2045_32.png and 3009.png first. You might prefer 3117_32.png over 3009.png if they don't have many slows or if you roam a lot. After this start building towards 3065.png or 3143.png, depending on the situation.
  • Situational: If they are full AP or their AP is fed, you might want to buy 3065_32.png over 3143_32.png or 3222_32.png if they don't have a lot of hard CC. Against full AD replace 3009.png with 3047_32.png and 3222_32.png with 3075_32.png or 3068_32.png.

I don't buy any ability power, because I think it's better to sustain myself longer and soak up as much damage for my carries, as well as disrupt enemy team as long as possible.
Also, don't forget to buy pinks early as they usually last long and are totally worth its gold.

VS

Alistar

Easy

Poke him down and don't stand close so he can't knock you both up. Don't focus him when he uses his ultimate.

VS

Annie

Medium

Annie is really hard to lane against, but I think Lulu can do fairly well against her. Don't stick close to your carry so she doesen't get off a double stun and when she stuns your carry go polymorph hers. When you reach level 6 she shouldn't be able to burst your carry and that kind of kills the purpuse of her.

VS

Blitzcrank

Easy

Just stay behind your minions and keep vision of him. Punish him hard when he misses his hook and if he hits it, polymorph his carry.

VS

Janna

Easy

Pretty much a farm fest. Her shield is just a tad weaker than your poke but your autoattack range is longer. If you interrupt her ult you can kill her at 6.

VS

Karma

Medium

They're pretty much the same but her R + Q combo really hurts. Try to outplay or wait for gank.

VS

Leona

Hard

You are weak early and she is strong. Don't get stunned and polymorph her carry when she goes in. Try to harass her as much as she is melee and you are ranged, so she can't all-in. If she misses her ultimate and you're not behind you can duel.

VS

Nami

Medium

She will outsustain you but if you harass her enough she will have to waste her mana on heals rather than stuns. Try to kill her early.

VS

Nunu

Easy

Shield his snowballs and you should be fine. Put down some harass so he will be forced to consume creeps making the lane push, and you can call for easy gank. Keep vision of him to avoid getting caught in his ultimate.

VS

Sona

Hard

She will outsustain and outpoke you with her passive. Try to poke her from distance with your E + Q combo or call your jungler for help. Don't let her stun you both.

VS

Soraka

Hard

She will outsustain you both and you can't really trade with them because her heal gives armor. Farm it up and wait for ganks.

VS

Taric

Easy

Poke him hard and don't let him get in range for his armor shred. Polymorph his carry when he stuns yours.

VS

Thresh

Medium

Stay behind creeps to avoid hooks. Polymorph his carry when he hits it and slow him when he goes for Flay. You should be pretty safe at level 6.

VS

Zilean

Easy

Bombs are annoying but you can shield them, poke him when he goes in to place them. Your slow is better early than his. Keep an eye on his ultimate.
