Summoner Spells Back to Top

-Take 4.png7.png for adc or 4.png12.png for top lane, if you decide to do so

-11.png with bloodrazor can be really strong late game, but I find it too unreliable and prefer the early kill pressure of 14.png.
-Take 3.png against assassins or if you prefer the utility

Masteries Back to Top

Machine gun lulu operates on a similar principle with 96.png, to kite around while dealing disgusting amounts of damage. Fervor makes you very strong in team fights, making you quick to melt the front line before moving on to the rest of the team.

—Lulu's lulupassive.png is weak at first, but deals tons 'o damage towards the late game, scaling with attack speed and ap items.

—Lulu has respectable base damage on her abilities, as this build lacks ap. luluq.png should be maxed first for the damage and slow, allowing you to get extra hits off while chasing.

—I max luluw.png next, as it is an extremely powerful ability with both offensive and defensive capabilities. I reserve luluw.png for extended fights, all-ins, and escaping jungle ganks: If the opponent has no hard crowd control or mobility to negate, then cast luluw.png on yourself for a burst of movement and attack speed — both excellent dueling stats. To evade a bursty combo or hard crowd control, cast luluw.png to leave your opponent helpless while you make your move.

—Max lulue.png last, and use it to either extend the range of your luluq.png or to give a handy shield to yourself or an ally.

lulur.png is one of the most underrated ultimates in the game; it can save yourself or an ally from almost any situation, or, when cast on the frontline, create a multi-player knockup that can win a team fight.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

    For chip damage w/autos
1st back- more dueling stats and sustain in lane

Core Items

    1st
2nd- Good waveclear, teamfighting stats and charging fervor
3rd- gives you an amazing amount of attack speed, durability, cdr, and movespeed
4th- Excellent transition to the late game with the powerspike gained from guinsoo's. Optional if behind or if having problems with assassins
Starting here, it is basically up to you for what you should build. I prefer nashor's most games for the extra magic damage and the 40 percent cdr with Trinity Force, but you can choose any of the situational items mentioned below.
Boots- I usually prefer defensive boot upgrades, but if you're fed Greaves give you a nice boost.
I've been testing this item recently, and I'm liking it more and more. Substitute this in the place of Triforce for a midgame power spike.

Situational Items

Take as 2nd item against lots of ap
If you're the most fed on your team
    If taking smite
Defense (only if you really need it)
    Useful against mobility-based champions

Playstyle Back to Top

In the early game, lulu can be an obnoxious bully in lane. Your autoattacks deal cumulatively more damage due to your fervor mastery, so combined with your 2 slows in  luluq.png and luluw.png you can become very sticky and get in several more autos before the opponent is out of range. However, try and save luluw.png for a near-risk-free method to escape from jungle ganks.

After your first couple of items, you can clear waves very quickly and bully your opponent to farming under tower. Once your Botrk is completed you have enough slows and lifesteal to stick to a target and auto them to death. This process is made much easier with a gank from your jungler- most people underestimate the snowball potential of a fed lulu.

Late game, you have the dueling potential to burst down basically any squishie on the enemy team. You win fights with almost any adc, except for a mechanically exceptional 67.png or 429.png. Your ultimate has so many uses at this point, to either save your teammates or set up a crippling wombo such as a yas/malph or other splash ulti.

Why mid? Back to Top

This build can work for an adc, but I can't stand duo lanes. The 1v1 potential with lulu's kit is too strong for me to justify playing adc lulu instead of the mid lane. The extra utility also helps out your team later in the game, allowing you to save allies if needed. Basically, this build allows lulu to have the best qualities of both adc and support.
