Summoner Spells Back to Top

4.png Flash :

Well, this summoner's spell is kinda useful as a Lane Yi, it give's you an escape, wich is very important since Yi doesn't own one. You can pick up some kills by flashing onto an opponent and finishing him off with autos or a Q. Moreover, It's a very good tool to dodge spells or to juke.

14.png Ignite :

You want to snowball ? then go for ignite.. Indeed, not only as Yi, Ignite is a powerful tool to snowball a lane and win your game by dominance. It's the best option that you can pick if you want to climb in elo. Moreover, additionally to ignite, Yi's early is one of the BEST of the game, this combo is just very strong because your opponent won't see you coming, and you will pick up first blood easily usually,  which makes Lane yi very strong, even more if you begin with a firstblood.

12.png Teleport :

Another option, to take if you feel bad in your matchup or not sure if you will be able to snowball. This spell is a bit weaker in my opinion. But still, Yi is a very good splitpusher, if you like to splitpush, then teleport would work well. You can, moreover roam effectively to pick up so kills early, or tp somewhere to make a 1v2 fight becoming a 2v2 fight and take adventages.

Masteries Back to Top

18 Points in Ferocity :

-Fury : Attack speed is better over 5% additional damage on your Q, and you take trades easier.
-Feast : This one is very important to have a better sustain, and to recover from a recent trade quickly. you can abuse of it to take an advantage on your opponent.
-Vampirism : Doran blade plus 2% of lifesteal: 5%, which is pretty good at lvl 1, you'll get a good sustain with that one. Moreover your Q deals good damage on minions, Qing with 2% spellvamp will heal you for ~20hp early game which is good to know.
-Bounty Hunter : well oppressor is pretty useless on yi, who doesn't have any cc's, it's better in my opinion to get a point in Bounty Hunter, Yi usually kills at least once every body in the enemy team ,so yeah.
-Battering Blows : Pourcentage Penetration is very important to slice Tanks lategame .

-Fervor of Battle : Pretty good keystone on yi, because you're an Auto attack based champion, you're masteryipassive.png procs twice this one aswell !

12 Points in Cunning :

You have to put points in that column only for the Dangerous game mastery ( most op mastery for yi )
-Wanderer : the move speed offered by this mastery is pretty decent, very useful if you want to roam, and makes you walking back to your lane faster .
- Secret stash : To get once again a better sustain. good agasint poke matchups.
-Merciless: well, It's a very important mastery, because most the tricks that I will show you later are based on the damage that you deal on a low enemy.

-Dangerous game : MOST IMPORTANT ONE, it synergies just so well with your resets: You get a kill, you heal yourself and get some mana back, your can use your spells once again (with your R passive) and go for another kill, etc.

LVL 1

level up your Qalphastrike.png to take early trades, keep in mind that you have insane damage, a good trade can make a lane won.

 LVL 2
You level up your Ewujustyle.png if ahead, your Wmeditate.png if low (low enough to not be able to touch your farm).

Why leveling up E and then W ?

You have to deal damage as a midlaner, leveling up your Ewujustyle.png will grant you additional Ad and Pure damage.
leveling up your Wmeditate.png is useless since you usually use it as "an auto reseter" (look for the Meditate auto reset trick section if you don't get what it is), it will only give you more tankiness while under "meditation", and reduce the cooldown of it.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Best starter = give you sustain and damage to take advantage in lane.
Safer starter, if you feel that your match up is hard, go for this.

Core Items

Go for Bork then Ghostblade, works very well with yi = you get attack speed, lifesteal, armor penetration, perfect to slice your opponents
    Damage
you need at least one of those to be viable in teamfights
    Alternative build : (crit yi)

Situational Items

With Master yi , always take the Blade of The Ruined King and the Youmuu's ghostblade, it's an awesome items combo that makes yi realy damagefull and good for chasing / trade 1v1.

Boots :
Go for berserkers most of the time
Go for tabies in an Ad matchup (like zed or yasuo)
Go for mercuries if you're facing a team with a lot of cc's.

Tanky items :
For me, banshee and randuin are the most usefull items to make yi more viable in teamfight,
we know that yi is weak against crowd control, banshee is great to counter that.

Who am I ? Back to Top

Hi Im gojisunsin, actually ranked D2 in euw

A yi  and gragas main,

Im actually ranked 3rd yi euw and 15th world and known by the most of yi players
Im the only one in high diamond to play those champs in midlane, Im in fact called midlane "Hipster".

I started to main Master yi a the beginning of the season 3, so that makes a while ! Don't think then that I copied Faker, in fact It's him who copied me lol. the fact that he playing yi mid twice at tournaments shows that this pick is pretty strong against squishy or cc less teams.

If you could visit my channel and support me, it would be uber niice <3
