Pretty Standard Stuff. 


I take Flash 4.png most of the games just because it's offensive and defensive utility is too good to be passed upon. 
Ghost 6.png is also viable ever since the buffs S6. It helps compensating for the Movement Speed nerfs on Highlander early on.

18/12 is definitevly the best setup for Yi. You need the extra damage from Feror since in most games you won't be able to build more than 3 offensive items.

Starting Items

    Machete because of 35% Attack Speed. Reffilable Potion is my prefered choice since it gives you comeback room if you get invaded early on and have to forfeit gold.

Core Items

    The 3 items I build everygame. Runes plus razor and Blade give you a good amount of Attack Speed to proc those On-Hits and get Alpha resets quicker. Maw starts the transition into tankiness by giving you decent amount of MR aswell as a 300+(100% of MR) magic shield. Along with the Lifeline passive giving you 10% Lifesteal and Spellvamp when the shield gets proced until out of combat.
    The only 3 boots that are viable.

Situational Items

    Heavily depends on the damage output of the enemy team.

Itemization


Boots

Take 3006.png if You can allow yourself to have more damage and Mercs or Tabis aren't viable vs the enemy team. 
Take 3047.png if the enemy team has at least 2 champions heavily reliant on hard hitting AD auto attacks. Or if the enemy team happens to be full AD.
Take 3111.png if the enemy team has at least 2 champions capable of keeping you grounded with long lasting (more than 1sec) crowd control. Or if the enemy team happens to be full AP.

Survival

Take 3742.png if the enemy AD dealers aren't reliant on dealing critical strikes (92.png64.png) and you are in need of more burst. 
Take 3143.png if the enemy AD dealers are heavily reliant on dealing critical strikes (222.png157.png).
Take 3065.png if the enemy team doesn't have crippling crowd control and you're therefore able to continously auto attack and utilize the healing passive.
Take 3102.png if the enemy team has crippling crowd control capable of locking you down into a oneshot.

Take 3053.png only if you've build or are planning on building two HP + Res items from the Survival Section.

Take 3026.png if you're the main threat on your team and the enemy team has dedicated their lifes on shutting you down. For example, they're saving ability cooldowns of cc ultimates or summoner spells just to counter you, since your team isn't strong enough to force them.

It's a pretty offensive build considering my guide but not even close to how offensive some Yi mains tend to build (and play with success) him.

General Information

- Yi needs items and therefore gold to be effective, farm up!
- Always put Alpha Strike on pure smartcast, no indicator! Speed is of the essence with alpha strike and the time it takes you to release your Q button can be your death.
- Don't always alpha as soon as it comes of cd. It's is your most important spell in terms of dodging cc and should be mainly used to gap close after an enemy flashed or to dodge predictable damage bursts aswell as cc. 
- Try to predict when enemies are planning to burst you and quickly activate meditate.png to reset your auto attack and negate some of the burst. 
- Alpha Strike can be used to lose turret aggro when tower diving. It's is generally a good idea to iniate the tower dive with Yi if the enemy can't cc lock you for too long or burst you down with the help of tower damage.

Jungling

- You don't need to be an exceptional jungler to jungle Yi but you need to have the basics down such as
:being aware of where the enemy jungler is
:being aware of when the enemy team is planning on invading you
:being aware of enemy rotations so you can quickly take and unguarded objective or assist your team in defending one.
- The Jungle Route is pretty simple: Start botside always for the best and leash and then do the camps on your starting side followed by scuttle to heal up again. Then head over to your opposite jungle site and clear that. You should be backing with 950g and then buying 3715.png and 1001.png.
From then on do this over and over again while looking for counter gank opportunities till you reach lvl 6 ( should be before or with your second Blue/Red buff(wherever you started). 

Lvl 6 you can slowly start making calculated plays. Usually it's a good idea to focus around botside since a dead enemy botlane will allow you to invade the enemy jungle for more gold aswell as doing the drakes for free stats.
It is very important that you keep farming, especially when fallen behind. YI NEEDS GOLD!!!
