Summoner Spells Back to Top

Don't think of Exhaust as a peeling or "Safe" Summoner Spell, think of it as "Control"

You can use Exhaust offensively and defensively.

Exhaust has 2 uses
  1. Reduces damage dealt from target by 40%
  2. Reduces their movement speed by 40%
Exhaust lets you bait the enemy into committing into you, this in combination with MF's E missfortunescattershot.png makes it very hard for any target without multiple dashes to stick onto you.

Flash is standard, only special things you can do with Flash on Miss Fourtune is :
  • Reposition to bounce Q missfortunericochetshot.png off a minion.
  • Slightly buffer E missfortunescattershot.png to gain some distance and damage.
  • Reposition over walls for ULT missfortunebullettime.png

New Runes Back to Top

Arcane%20Comet.png?width=64 Easy to hit a comet with E missfortunescattershot.png slow, and gets off cooldown relatively quickly with MF's mix of single target and AOE abilities.
Manaflow%20Band.png?width=64 Great for Spamming damage abilities in lane, and maintaining your mana pool during the mid game.
Celerity.png?width=64 Free movement speed and gives you extra damage for bonus movement speed missfortuneviciousstrikes.png
Scorch.png?width=64 Free Damage

cheap%2520shot1.png?width=64 Any damage you do after applying E missfortunescattershot.png slow will do true damage, making you deal True damage, physical damage, and magical damage to the same target!
Zombie%20Ward.png?width=64 Longer wards, and reward for clearing enemy wards.

Masteries Back to Top

Gives you lots of little bonus that when capitalized on give you extra small amounts of damage.

  • Sorcery 5/5 - Basically +2% damage to missfortunepassive.pngmissfortunericochetshot.pngmissfortunescattershot.pngmissfortunebullettime.png is better than +4% attack speed from Fury.
  • Fresh Blood 1/1 - This in combination with missfortunepassive.png and a bounced missfortunericochetshot.png can give you a huge first hit on the enemy.
  • Vampirism 1/5 -  Gives you some slight sustain you do mixed damage.
  • Natural Talent 4/5 - It's not impossible for you to get good amount of levels, and this gives you free Ability Power & Attack Damage.
  • Double Edged Sword 1/1 - 5% Extra Damage, but you take 2.5% damage, is a worth trade off on MF, you are rarely in range to be damage, and ALWAYS damaging the enemy, and when an enemy is close enough to damage you, you have Exhaust 3.png

  • Wanderer 5/5 - in combination with missfortuneviciousstrikes.png lets you get in position to cast abilities quicker (effectively making your ranges longer, and helps with moving around the map.
  • Secret Stash 1/1 - You start with 3 Health Pots and trade a lot, so you get extra value out of all 3, letting you potentially 1v2 lanes in terms of trading damage, also getting a slight amount of Mana is nice.
  • Merciless 5/5 - If you want to play around your ULT 100% than running Merciless over Meditation
  • Greenfather's Gift 1/1 - gives you again slightly more damage
  • Precision 5/5 - This gives you again, slightly more damage, and slight scaling.
  • Thunderlord's Decree 1/1 - Easily procs off MF's E missfortunescattershot.png

Abilities Back to Top

Skill Order

missfortunebullettime.png > missfortunescattershot.png > missfortunericochetshot.png > missfortuneviciousstrikes.png

missfortunepassive.png Passive

Applies bonus physical damage to targets not previously hit

  • Applies 2 stacks of Spelltheif's edge
  • Make sure to hit minions / pets / other champions to reset the passive on individual targets

missfortunericochetshot.png Double Up

On hit ability, 1st hit is like an enhanced auto attack, 2nd bounces and does significantly more damage
  • Bounce off minions to hit enemy champions in lane for easy poke
  • When bounces off minion, it will apply missfortunepassive.png to the minion then missfortunepassive.png to the target hit.
  • Poke with this any time the enemy bot laners is positioned behind their caster minions or moving towards you , you can Q a Melee minion
  • You can use this directly on a champion for some damage in a quick Auto Attack > missfortunericochetshot.png , but getting the bounce damage is way more impactful

missfortuneviciousstrikes.png Strut

Grants out of combat movement speed that builds up over time, and active gives you a small amount of attack speed
  • Get back to lane quickly
  • Attack speed is nice for killing wards
  • Movement speed helps avoid enemy abilities
  • Cast after you have been hit by any damaging abilities to gain movement speed to run away or chase.

missfortunescattershot.png Make it Rain

Inflicts Magic Damage in a small AOE Circle, and slows the enemy
  • Damages the enemy in multiple fast ticks, so you should use this to easily farm 3303.pngSpelltheif's Stacks
  • Cast to where the enemy is going, so that they stay in the damaging circle longer
  • You can only cast this so many times before your first back, make good use it
  • Long cast range and huge AOE makes this a very safe ability to use

missfortunebullettime.png Bullet Time

Does HUGE damage in a very long area
  • Applies 3071.png stacks very quickly
  • Can be cast very far away
  • Once cast, you can't move, so be sure you are in a good location to get off the most damage possible before casting
  • Cooldown isn't too bad once you get around 25% CDR, don't be afraid to wiff a couple ULTS every now and then
  • Combo with E missfortunescattershot.png slow to hit enemies that can barely move with more ticks of your ULT

Core Items

    Tons of Damage

Situational Items

 Starting Items

3303.png2009.png2009.png2009.png(+165 Health + 15 Mana Each) using all = (+495 HP & +45 Mana) 3340.png

3303.png Spelltheif's Edge, 3 Biscuits, and a ward on cooldown.

Spelltheif's Edge gives you Passive Gold Income, small amounts of Mana Regen and Ability Power, more importantly, rewards you for damaging the enemy, by applying extra magic damage and gives you gold for doing so.

When you cast MF's missfortunescattershot.png it will proc all 3 stacks of Spelltheif's Edge very quickly.

2009.png MF's trades A LOT in lane, and most the time you will be doing so 1v2 correctly or incorrectly, regardless you can take trades in which you are temporarily lower in HP than them afterwards, since you have the 3 Health Pots you will be able to wait until you are close to full HP again, and go back and trade some more, it is especially valuable to trade your Health Pots for the Enemy ADC's 1 Health Pot, since most ADCs will start 1055.png2003.png.

3340.png You only get a Trinket ward 180 Seconds (3 minutes) so you need to have a good read on the Enemy Jungler potential location.

Once you get 2049.png Sightstone, you can switch to Sweeper, holding on to 3340.png is only beneficial if you are trapped on your side of the map.

2301.png > 3009.png > 3071.png > 3142.png > 3147.png

Build path

3303.png > 3098.png > 2049.png or 3009.png > 2301.png > 3044.png > 3067.png > 3071.png > 3134.png > 3142.png >3814.png

This will be your build for pretty much every game, your main goal should be to get Black Cleaver 3071.png as quick as possible, once you get this MF's ULT missfortunebullettime.png will apply all 6 stacks reducing the enemies Armor by 30%!

Other Items

3142.png Ghostblade - Build path is really easy ( 4 LONG SWORDS ), then you get +20 Lethality which will let you get past Flat Armor since you already shred 30% Armor with Black Cleaver, and it scales with enemy levels, which is nice since you don't get many levels during the progression of the game, and more mobility options with the passive and active.

3814.png Edge of Night - Spellshield, Magic Resist, AD, Lethality, out-of-combat movement speed.

MF gets unique value out of being able to channel a spell shield before ULTing, so that it is even harder for enemies to kill you while channeling ULTmissfortunebullettime.png, and gives you more damage, duh.

3033.png Mortal Reminder - You can replace 3142.png or 3814.png if the enemy has 1 or more tanks, and lets you apply 3123.png passive while ULTing missfortunebullettime.png

3158.png Lucidity - Lets you have 3.png4.png up more often, and 10% CDR, if you build Lucidity you might waste money building CDR over 40% with other items.

3009.png Swiftness - Really good for moving around the map, and negating advantages from slows in certain matchups (201.png43.png48.png)
3020.png Sorcerers - Magic Pen will give you more damage on missfortunericochetshot.pngmissfortunescattershot.pngmissfortunebullettime.png, more importantly, if you go these, they cost more, and lose out on the bonuses of the other boots.

Other Items

  • 3123.png Executioner's Calling - If the enemy has multiple healing champions(36.png57.png9.png122.png420.png82.png76.png27.png16.png50.png48.png8.png106.png19.png)
  • 3151.png Liandry's Torment - When your gameplay comes down to casting E missfortunescattershot.png multiple times rather than playing 100% around MF's ULT missfortunebullettime.png

Matchups Back to Top

  • Alistar
  • Bard
  • Fizz
  • Karma
  • Leona
  • Malzahar
  • Soraka
  • Taric
  • Thresh
  • Warwick
  • Zyra

headbutt.pngpulverize.png makes ULTing around Alistar very hard, wait for him to use CC or be in a position in which you can't be hit by him to ULT missfortunebullettime.png

During the lane don't get close to alistar, a headbutt.pngpulverize.png combo will kill you.

Get his ADC a low as possible with missfortunescattershot.pngmissfortunericochetshot.png poke before your try to move anywhere close to them.

While ULTing missfortunebullettime.png it's very easy for bard to land his ULT bardr.png on you, but it's not that bad since it takes a while to hit you, and he has to follow up on it.

Laning phase is pretty even, don't tank meep empowered auto attacks from bard, wear him down with missfortunescattershot.png and bounce missfortunericochetshot.png

Bard has barde.png to get a jungler on you from very far away, so don't be to far pushed up unless you know where the enemy jungler is.

  • 3.png Is your only way to peel Fizz
  • missfortunescattershot.png where he is going to fizzq.png after fizze.pnging
  • Don't walk into fog of war alone, Fizz will be looking to pick you off.

  • karmasolkimshield.png shuts down MF's missfortunescattershot.png heavily
  • karmaq.png out ranges MF's missfortunericochetshot.png
  • Flash karmaspiritbind.png engage can be really strong

Can quickly move up a lane and engage onto you

Stops your ULT missfortunebullettime.png with her ULT leonasolarflare.png
Once you are CC'd you are most likely going to be bursted down by one of Leona's allies.

  • Can Build 3111.png
  • malzaharw.png can be killed with 1 auto and missfortunericochetshot.png
  • Can easily break his Passive shield with missfortunescattershot.png

Soraka is a strong laner and will sustain your damage and can also out poke you with her sorakaq.png , but come mid - late game you can catch her out from far range with missfortunescattershot.pngmissfortunebullettime.png

Gives MF a pretty free laning phase, usually giving you some small gold advantage, his heals and shields don't out sustain your missfortunescattershot.png missfortunebullettime.png

Stay out of threshe.png range and farm spell theives with missfortunescattershot.png.

Don't die during the early and mid game, and take over team fights late game with high damage ULTs

  • infiniteduress.png Unless you have 3814.png Warwick can ULT you from a really far distance away.
  • missfortunescattershot.png Drop an E in front of where Warwick is walking to, not to where he is, so that you apply a longer slow.
  • You have to CC to stop his ULT, so your only option is to 3.png

  • You kill her plants in 1 auto and Q missfortunericochetshot.png

Early Game Back to Top

Minutes 0:00 - 1:10, you should try to find an enemy and land an E missfortunescattershot.png so you get all 3 3303.png Spellthief's Stacks.
Only cast 2 E's missfortunescattershot.png Then recall so you can get the mana back ( since it's like half your mana pool)

Disturbing 1st Camp Leash

Blue Side

You will be looking to disturb the enemies Blue Buff, the easiest way for you to do this is to simply cast 1 E missfortunescattershot.png, if you try to do anything past that, it will be with Auto Attacks, and if the enemy has any CC level 1 then it's better to not push it.

Red Side

Try and disturb the enemy doing Red Buff isn't was valuable, it's better to wait in Tri Brush, and when they are coming walk out then cast E missfortunescattershot.png to slow their entrance into lane.

Watch out of Ganks, Roams, and Teleports if you die before having enough money from 3098.png Frostfang, then you lose out on a lot of gold generation during the time in the game in which you can utilize it the most.

Laning Phase - Poking Back to Top

Miss Fortune's Kit and what you are running in Runes & Masteries, gives you a lot of tools to put a hurt on the enemy while getting gold for yourself.

Farming Spelltheif's Stacks

3303.png 3098.png
  • Auto Attacks apply missfortunepassive.png passive, which gives you 2  Spelltheif's Stacks
  • missfortunescattershot.png quickly ticks and can easily get all 3 Spelltheif's Stacks
These are your easiest ways of quickly and easily get all  Spelltheif's Stacks without taking much if any damage in return, these options also let you do a good amount of damage to the enemy as well.

Managing your Mana Pool

You only have so much Mana to use before having to recall, and if you don't get a CS advantage or a Kill, then you can end up looking like a cast minion with slightly more health.

Ideally, by level 4 you will have at least 500 gold for 3098.png, a point in missfortuneviciousstrikes.png to get back to lane faster.

Mid Game Back to Top

Mid Game you can have the most impact by landing very impactful ULTs

By this time most likely a tower or 2 has gone down and changed the dynamic of the map, unless you have an ally champion near you stay on your side of the map, walking into the enemies jungle by yourself doesn't do anything, Miss Fortune doesn't have any CC to lock down a target, you only offer doing 30%-70% of a target's health.

Around 22 - 26 Minutes in you should have 3071.png which makes MF's ULT missfortunebullettime.png Shred the enemies Armor, making the ULT do more damage, and any physical damage carries on your team do more damage.

So play in the neutral part of the map, and wait for a fight to start so that you can hit as many enemies as possible with missfortunescattershot.png & missfortunebullettime.png

When your ULT is down, don't try to force anything, be patient or you will lose. It is that simple, the Miss Fortune player that simply takes no action when your ULT is down takes discipline, get wards on your side of the jungle and
  • Walk with your Jungler
  • Sit in a lane
  • Wait near ward to catch enemy on your side of the map
  • Try to farm 3303.png Spellthief's Stacks safely with E missfortunescattershot.png

Late Game Back to Top

Late game things happen very quickly
  • You need to be really on top of fights, 3.png Exhaust needs to be on point, missfortunebullettime.png ULTs need to be cast in positions in which it won't be canceled or have you die while casting.
  • Before you walk into any bush use missfortunescattershot.png to get vision in it.
  • Be positioned behind your team, you don't and shouldn't be the one in front trying to start anything, Miss Fortune is not like other support champions that have CC to start fights,
  • You can catch out enemies carries from over walls, slow them with a well-placed E missfortunescattershot.png , then cast ULT missfortunebullettime.png towards the direction they are walking to.

Team Fighting Back to Top

Team Fights are Miss Fortune's edge over all other supports because she can single handedly chunk the ENTIRE enemy team with a well placed missfortunescattershot.pngmissfortunebullettime.png the later the game goes the more AD Items you get, and the ULT becomes more and more devastating

To get an effective ULT off thought takes 3 seconds of channel without interruption or with your Miss Fortune dying, which is quite the task to pull off properly during a fight, it's best to wait for the fight to go on for a little bit, making sure you are tracking the important enemy abilities that are a threat to you, and once they are used / you can't be hit by them during the ULT, then you should cast missfortunebullettime.png

It's also important to note that the direction of the ULT can not change once cast, and in most fights, the clump of champions will move, so you need to cast it to where they are going to.

Pros and Cons Back to Top

  • Ability to carry Team Fights with a well placed ULT
  • Provides really good damage during the laning phase
  • Can easily farm Spelltheif's stacks with missfortunescattershot.png

  • No CC
  • Requires the player to play smarter
  • Can only build offensive items no (3107.png3190.pngetc)

Warding Back to Top

Warding with the 3340.png Warding Trinket

At the start of every game, your only options for warding before you get 2049.png Sightstone, is to use the 3340.png Warding Trinket.

The 3340.png Warding Trinket only gives you a 60 Second ward, that gives you a very small range of vision compared to a 2049.pngSightstone's Vison Ward.

The best way to make use of the Warding Trinket during the early laning phase, is to place it before the enemy jungler shows up, this will change every game depending on the enemy jungler, generally here are some good spots to trinket

Trinkets Outlined in Blue are for when you are on Blue Side
Trinkets Outlined in Red, hey you guessed it, are for when you are on Red Side.
Trinkets Outlined with both, work well on either side.

If you have full control over a lane, placing a trinket in the bot lane bushes isn't terrible as long as you play around the possibility of Gank timing windows properly.

3340.png / 3341.png
Once you get Sightstone, you generally want to switch to Sweeper, but you can make use of the trinket wards in a very extended laning phase, but after say 20 minutes, you will most likely NEED to switch to sweeper or you will be walking through enemy wards the entire game.

So when you get Sightstone the ENTIRE game changes. There are ways you SHOULD use, and ways you CAN use it.

Where to place a Sightstone Ward, has a LOT of  factors that go into why or when you should place a ward, hopefully, this makes it simpler:

When To place a Ward

  • If you know the enemy is likely to come from an area in 1-2 minutes.
  • If the enemy has the ability to jump over walls, ward over the wall they would come from ex (9.png64.png)
  • So you can spot enemy champions moving from one lane to another in the fog of war.

When not to place a ward

  • You are near a bush and there isn't a ward in it
  • When you are in a lane and afraid that someone is in that bush you are going to ward
  • When you already have vision of the target you are try to ward against

Mid - Late Game Warding

  1. Do you have advantage and 2-3 champions with you > get a ward in their jungle
  2. Is the game even / you have no ally champions to assist with deep warding > Ward river / entrances to your jungle
  3. Are you behind / multiple towers have fallen > Ward your Jungle.

Here are all easy Warding spots.

Mid - Late game, you shouldn't be going on solo missions into the enemies side of the jungle to get a useless deep ward, only to find 5 champions and a gray screen. Anytime you want to get a ward on the enemies side of the map, ping your laners / jungler to assist you with walking into the enemy jungle, who knows you might find a solo member of the enemy team instead and be able to pick up an easy kill.
