Summoner Spells Back to Top

Unlike top lane fighters or mid lane mages, bot lane marksmen are not offered versatility in summoner spell choices. 


Therefore, it is not your selection of summoner spells but your usage which will determine the result of fights. The reasons for the extreme dominance of flash and heal in the bottom lane are explained below.

  4.png ▶ Flash

This instant repositioning tool works not only as an escape mechanism but also as an outplay weapon. Even at the highest level of play, the usage of flash is often the deciding factor for why people win or lose fights. It is one of the easiest summoner spells to pick up and master. The following list contains the many situations where flash is utilized:

1. Escaping a gank/engage like Elise's 4.png + elisehumane.png or Blitzcrank's overdrive.png + rocketgrab.png
2. Dodging a damaging ability like varusq.png or caitlynpiltoverpeacemaker.png to win a duel/skirmish. 
3. Getting in range for a proper missfortunescattershot.png + missfortunebullettime.png combo.
4. Blinking out of counterattack/CC range to properly channel missfortunescattershot.png + missfortunebullettime.png combo.
5. Flashing over a wall against immobile champs/temporarily immobile champs. 

.. and so on. Your creativity is the limit.

  7.png ▶ Heal

The summoner spell heal is quite limited in it's use when compared to flash. However, just like flash, it can be used both offensively and defensively. 

90 percent of the time, a situation is going to demand a defensive use of this summoner. 

Some pointers to consider when using this summoner spell are listed below:

1. This summoner spell will not help you survive a clear disadvantage in any way. At most, two more auto attacks from the enemy adc will burn through the extra health. So instead of using heal as a combat tool, try to use it as a trick of deception. Time your heals at the last possible second to turn the the tide of the duel. In lower elo, this might also help you survive/kill opponents because they habitually retreat once they fire off the killing shot. 

2. If the enemy support has ignite, your usage of heal will have to be altered significantly to fix the reduced healing. 

▶ At any level, two ticks of the enemy support's ignite are the most you can block with heal. Due to this reason, try to time your heal before or after the ignite's expected cast time or expiration time respectively.

▶ If you plan on using it early, make sure your lane is in a position to finish the enemies off, or the enemy support will disengage and not use ignite. 

▶ If you plan on using it late, make sure you can survive the entire 5 seconds without having to use heal, for maximum effect. 

▶ In the most extreme case, where you are certain of your death, DO NOT waste heal. Rather, try to use it as a leveling field for the next 3 minutes after you respawn, when the enemy support does not have ignite. 
 
3. Be mindful of the 30 percent movement speed boost heal provides. If your support is a Blitzcrank 53.png or Leona 89.png , this spell can be used to speed them up during ally jungle ganks. 

NOTE : If you are unsure of heal's potential, do not use tip 3.

  21.png ▶ Why is barrier not effective?

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Putting it short and sweet, barrier is single target and does not offer you or your ally a movement speed boost. At bottom lane, the best case scenario for barrier is it's utilization during heal debuffs. Unfortunately, just like heal, Barrier is only capable of blocking two ticks of ignite, because it only lasts two seconds. Also, the burst protection of barrier is better used against bursty mid laners like Syndra, whereas bot lane is more about consistent, spread out damage, which favors health retention.

Sorcery

▶ Miss Fortune, as a lane bully, benefits more from ability damage than attack speed.

▶ Is still a better alternative than Fury for Miss Fortune.

Double edged sword

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

▶ Miss Fortune often deals more damage to her enemies in short trades due to love tap and double up. This makes double edged sword's 3 percent extra damage for 1.5 percent return damage worth it. 

▶ Is better than battle trance, since battle trance requires you to be in combat for 3 seconds, which is not Fortune's playstyle. Her poke is almost always hit and run.

▶ Is better than bounty hunter, because it grants you 3 percent damage increase immediately upon the start of the game. Also, there is no guarantee that you will kill 5 champions in the enemy team. If you snowball and kill both bot laners and jungler, bounty hunter is better, but I prefer consistency of damage over tactics that I know might not succeed.

Battering blows

▶ With the overall reduction of armor penetration in the game, this mastery is a must-pick. It is vastly superior to precision, which grants 6 lethality.

▶ AD carries have started building ninja tabi and guardian angel more frequently. This means that they will cross the 86 armor threshold where battering blows outshines precision easily. This mastery is also strictly better against tanks. 

▶ The only magic damage in your kit comes from your E - Make it rain. Therefore, piercing thoughts is also inferior. 

▶ Even if playing full AP miss Fortune for fun, use armor pen items like 3071.png or 3033.png with 3020.png and 3151.png to maximize both E and R damage.

Deathfire touch

▶ Miss Fortune mains have split opinions between Deathfire touch and Thunderlord's decree. According to me, Deathfire touch is superior to Thunderlord's. It does not have a cooldown, has a higher AD scaling, and despite the lack of base damage, it can be applied to every enemy with your ultimate. Also, your ultimate will constantly reapply deathfire touch, making it that much more potent. 

▶ The classic Miss Fortune poke combo is often a simple Q bounce, or a Q + AA on enemies that get too close. This will always apply deathfire touch, but not Thunderlord's decree. Thunderlord's decree is best utilized with an E cast, which is something support Miss Fortune does. 

▶ Fervor of battle is inferior to Deathfire touch because it requires you to stay in battle. The 8 stacks of bonus AD are only gained through auto-attacking enemy champions which is not something Miss Fortune wants to do. She wants to unload heavy poke, punish mistakes hard, and snowball the game with her Q and R. Extended trades will often be lost by Miss Fortune due to the low base AD she has combined with the inability of love tap to proc on a single target multiple times. Therefore, fervor of battle is much better for champions who want to extend trades, like Xayah, Jinx or Kog'maw.

Savagery

▶ Adds 5 bonus damage to your auto attacks and spells against minions and monsters, making early game last hitting a bit easier. 

▶ Is a necessity when playing with lethality runes, because you will run to lane with at most 58 AD (Long sword + 3 pot start), which is not enough to last hit ranged minions under tower. 

▶ Adds some pushing power to your champion, since attacks deal more damage on every minion hit.

Secret stash

▶ Since you are not picking feast or vampirism, potions will be your only form of sustain. Secret stash makes them better, causing them to restore an additional 30 health and 15 mana. 

▶ Be mindful of the instant 15 mana gain. It can turn the tides of a lost fight by allowing you to cast double up or strut another time. 

NOTE: Using 3 potions immediately will not restore 45 health and 45 mana upon cast. It will restore 15 health and 15 mana only. When the first potion ends, 15 health and 15 mana will be instantly restored again at the beginning of the second potion consumption.

Meditation

▶ Miss Fortune is a caster adc. Once she runs out of mana, she does not have the presence a Kog'maw has. Therefore, managing mana is a very important part of playing Miss Fortune. 

▶ This mastery might not offer the most mana regen, but when this bonus is added to Miss Fortune's innate mana regen, it helps her reach spell cost thresholds faster. 

Note: If you are confident in your ability to manage mana without meditation, pick merciless instead.

Dangerous game

▶ Restores 5 percent of your missing health and mana when you are granted a kill or an assist. This can often help you survive the last tick of ignite. 

▶ Greenfather's gift's bonus damage is applied to minions, voiding the strategy of stepping into brush and hitting Q on a minion for an empowered bounce. 

▶ Bandit is also not optimal because as an adc, it is your duty to last hit. The only part of the mastery where you earn gold is auto attacking enemy champions, which can grant you an extra potion if used optimally.

1. Bullet time whenever possible because it increases the damage and the number of waves cast. Since the duration of the ability remains 3 seconds at level 6 and 16, it essentially states that your damage per second increases, since the number of waves and waves per second go up. 


2. Double up first because it is your most potent poking and trading tool in lane. Both Strut and Make it rain pale in comparison to this skill in lane. 

3. Strut second because it offers a massive attack speed boost necessary for taking those towers and dragons down. Since you do not have a lot of waveclear, strut also helps you boost your waveclearing ability for a measly 30 mana. Also, the 100 bonus movement speed helps you avoid getting enchantedcrystalarrow.png or rocketgrab.png mid game if you position properly and do not lose the strut bonus to minions while farming. 

4. Make it rain last because one point in the ability serves it's purpose well. It is a very underrated ability on Miss Fortune, to the point where people believe it should be removed for something better. I disagree, because it provides some soft CC, a 60 percent slow at max rank, to keep people in your ultimate's area for some extra waves of damage. This ability can also be used to break the enemy support's 3117.png or malzaharpassive.png. Against champions like Caitlyn or Jinx, casting this ability allows you to catch up on their extra range, and get ganks started.

Starting Items

    Buy these items if you think you are going to be poked at a medium time frame/interval to make best use of Doran's shield regen passive.
    Buy these items to snowball and destroy lane. A good purchase against frequent poke, bad against hard engage tanks who can burst you level 2-3 with their adc.
    The most optimal items to start with. If unsure, pick these 100 percent of the time and you won't run into any problems. The bonus AD, lifesteal and HP are versatile enough to help in any situation.

Core Items

    Ghostblade is a first purchase almost every game due to the easy build path, the bonus lethality and CDR, and also the 65 AD. Also helps provide bonus mobility to escape ganks.
    Pick one of these two, and build them after ghostblade. Pick both if snowballing extremely hard and against 5 squishy champions.
    Nerfed, but necessary. The AOE armor shred is still useful, especially if you have multiple AD champions in your game. Buy during later stages of the game.
    After the MF changes and item buffs, Infinity edge has started shining harder. Lower cost of completion and amplification of both Q and R damage make this item a must buy.

Situational Items

    My optimal 6th item that rounds out my build with 40 percent CDR, grants me more survivability, and at the same time, causes the ultimate to become an AOE life leech.
    These items can be used as a replacement for black cleaver if you are the only physical damage threat on your team. Moreover, against squishy champions that build one or two armor items, this can help.
    Unnecessary, but can help in the right situation. If planning to max E, pick boots of speed. Pick Ninja tabi against autoattackers like Jinx to make her completely useless. Mobi boots post 3 completed items for some fun normal game, never for ranked.
    Are both possible 6th items, but currently outclassed by death's dance. If you have a remaining item slot by skipping duskblade, buy one of these two.
    If you have enough gold on first back, a BF sword before you finish Youmuu's ghostblade can be nice to add some raw damage with your lethality runes. Also makes last hitting super easy.

Level 1, you can bully him all you want. 

Starting level 2, Alistar will demand respect, and you will have to give him that. Trades against him are rather difficult, but with a support like 267.png or 40.png, not impossible. 

Play alongside your support, and cover for one another. 

Do not get discouraged if he flash headbutt.png + pulverize.png's you for a kill. Train your own reaction time to avoid it with your own flash. Other than that, work with your jungler to get an advantage pre 6. 

Mid and late game, play around your vision, and it will be very easy. While his ferocioushowl.png makes him invincible, your ultimate will still devastate the rest of his team. 

TIP: Once Alistar finishes 3117.png, you can use your E to disable them when you feel like he's coming to engage on you. 

VS

Annie

Easy

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png


Her spell damage and auto range have been gutted. 

You outrange her immensely with your missfortunescattershot.png + missfortunebullettime.png combo. 

Despite moltenshield.png, she melts easily. 

The indicator on her passive beneath her hp bar pretty much kills her as a support. 

Mid game and late game, her team will clump up once she engages with 4.png + infernalguardian.png. Your bullet time will devastate the enemies and kill tibbers at the same time once this happens. Just try not to get caught in the initial AOE. 

VS

Ashe

Easy

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png


Your poke is superior to hers, since you will outtrade her with missfortunericochetshot.png + AA. 

3814.png completely nulls any opportunity for an ultimate interrupt by enchantedcrystalarrow.png.

If she uses her ultimate and fails to kill you, you will destroy her for the next 100 seconds. 

Keep in mind that her forte is extended trades, and yours is hit and run. You counter one another's playstyles, and you have the edge. 

DO NOT let her stack her rangers focus and trade with her, unless you are sure you will kill her with the HP difference. 

VS

Bard

Medium

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png


His Q + AA trade is better than yours. 

You cannot be aggressive on his ADC if he disappears because he can port his jungler in with barde.png

Only after you see him appear on the minimap with his jungler can you kill the enemy adc, but by that point, they are safe, and Bard has already acquired a kill on your mid laner. 

He is much easier to deal with when he's on blue side, an absolute terror when he's on red side. 

His R also cancels yours, and he provides long range engage with it. 

Your best bet is to destroy this guy in lane, 2 v 2, by making Q bounces through minions. He is squishy, so if your support has hard engage, you will kill him early. 

The only reason this matchup is not listed as hard is because once you start snowballing against him, he will melt as easily as knife through butter. 

VS

Blitzcrank

Hard

Recommended start: 1055.png + 2003.png


A good blitzcrank will null your ability to snowball the lane. He will sit in the side bush, often zoning you from CS. He doesn't need to rocketgrab.png immediately. He can just activate overdrive and powerfist.png you into the air. 

This guy also interrupts your ultimate instantly with his staticfield.png active. In late game teamfights, a mindful blitzcrank will just flash staticfield.png to ruin your day. For the same reason, 3814.png is an absolute necessity against this metallic fiend. 

Once you do get snowballing, you will absolutely destroy him, but that status of being fed is hard to achieve when he's the support. 

TIP: Use missfortunescattershot.png if he starts overdrive.png to you and RUN away! Do not stop or he will flash powerfist.png you. Let your support poke this guy. If you burn your 4.png without him using his, it will become a difficult lane.

Brand

Medium

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png


He is squishy and melts fast, but his brande.png will halt your strut, and his passive will disallow you from reactivating the movement speed bonus with W. Your best bet is to dodge his brandw.png while farming. 

If he hits your minion wave with brandw.png, move away or he can brande.png the minions and then brandq.png you for a stun. 

Once you start snowballing, he will die often. Before level 3, he has no way to proc his passive. Before level 6, he has no way to proc his passive if he misses one of his ability. 

VS

Braum

Medium

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png


His passive has a delay. Do not use your ultimate if he has it on you and you are being attacked. 

braume.png can be drawn out after the items you purchase during first back. Once he uses it, you are free to ult for the next 15 seconds. 

His 4.png + braumrwrapper.png engage is relatively slow and can be spotted. If you train your 4.png and dodge the combo, you are at an advantage. 

Jungle ganks will be difficult to pull off with this guy guarding his adc. 

TIP: Take first tower and rotate back and forth between mid and a warded bottom lane. 

VS

Caitlyn

Hard

Recommended: 1054.png + 2 2003.png


This lane is impossible to snowball. She will poke you for every CS, while standing at the northern side of the bot lane minions. 

Her traps are annoying, but can be dealt with, even those behind turrets. Learn to sacrifice CS and not be greedy. 

Without jungle help, this lane will slowly strangle you till you are a non-factor in the game. Even some easy supports will become medium or high difficulty when paired up with Caitlyn. 

Worst part, you cannot use the missfortunericochetshot.png + AA trade on her at any point in the game without using missfortunescattershot.png, and even then, she will just caitlynentrapment.png you into a headshot and caitlynpiltoverpeacemaker.png

TIP: Gain your advantage through mid game teamfights. 

VS

Corki

Easy

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png


You don't need to be afraid of him at any point in the game. Trade primarily with missfortunericochetshot.png bounces and secondarily with missfortunericochetshot.png + AA. 

His carpetbomb.png costs 100 mana and has a high cooldown, so if you can make him use it, you can zone him off the wave. 

Take care of his passive package. It has to be given the importance of a Rumble equalizer. You will completely melt if you fight while standing in it. Try to avoid that time window, unless going for an objective. 

VS

Draven

Medium

Recommended start: 1036.png + 32003.png


Despite his dravenspinning.png, your missfortunericochetshot.png + AA will trade evenly, as long as you time it with his last hits. 

Your primary poking tool in this matchup is again missfortunericochetshot.png bounce off minions. 

He will destroy you in extended trades if he's even. If you get the lead however, you should have no problem killing him multiple times in lane. 

If he uses dravendoubleshot.png on you, he will run to you and auto attack you. Use your own missfortunescattershot.png between him and the optimal kiting range to discourage him. 

With only one tool to interrupt your ultimate, 3814.png works great against this guy. 

VS

Ezreal

Medium

Recommended start: 1036.png + 32003.png


Most Ezreal players usually go 3070.png. Around this point, you will finish your 3134.png. The lane will heavily swing into your favor unless you make map reading mistakes. 

If he builds 3025.png, he will be difficult to kill, but at the same time, you will outshine him heavily in teamfights. 

Take first tower and then focus objectives on the map. Finish the game as quickly as possible without fooling around. It can be difficult to pin down a good Ezreal player once he gets to critical items. 

VS

Janna

Easy

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png


The threat in a Janna lane does not come from the support. Instead, it doubles up on the adc. Most players, therefore, try to kill the adc in an all in, ignoring Janna. This playstyle is where Janna excels. 

Try to make trades through missfortunericochetshot.png bounces. Your mana costs are lower than hers, so if you manage to draw shields, you will win. The bonus AD from her shield will also dissipate once it is broken. Try to see if the Janna player has the reactions to shield their ADC from a Q bounce. 

At any point in the game, be careful of 4.png + reapthewhirlwind.png. It is near instant and will ruin your  missfortunebullettime.png plans. 

Usually, your bullet time will cut through monsoon's healing easily, so you null a part of Janna's kit. Other than that, if you start to snowball this lane, there is very little the enemy adc can do. 

TIP: At an extremely high level of play, Janna players will cast howlinggale.png in the general direction of threat before channeling reapthewhirlwind.png. Midway through the ult, it will go off. Make sure you keep an eye out for such sneaky interrupts. 

VS

Jhin

Easy

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png


This lane is mostly won due to how bad the itemization choices for Jhin are in this meta. The reload mechanic does not help him either. 

You will snowball this lane extremely hard unless their jungle camps you. You outdamage him in every way unless he gets 3 kills on his jhinq.png and it then bounces onto you. All of his damage is easy to avoid. 

If he is backing up, try to be wary of the fact that he can cast jhinr.png to aid a jungle gank outside counterattack range. 

Late game, you will melt his team and him. 

VS

Jinx

Easy

Recommended start: 1036.png + 32003.png


This maniacal girl is probably the easiest matchup for Miss Fortune. Even with the bonus range jinxq.png provides, you can consistently outtrade her. Her itemization choices do not allow for any bonus health. 

If she stops to cast jinxw.png and you dodge it, you are in attack range with missfortunescattershot.png slow. 

She has no way to dodge missfortunescattershot.png + missfortunebullettime.png other than flash. 

DO NOT allow her to snowball. 3031.png + 3085.png is where she gains the necessary waveclear and damage to stay safe in teamfights. 

If she gets going, she can feel unfair to play against, but that will happen in less than 5 percent of the games without jungle assistance provided you are playing Miss Fortune correctly. 


VS

Kalista

Hard

Recommended start: 1036.png + 32003.png


NOTE: Post 6, DO NOT waste your combo on their support before she casts ultimate. If you do so, she will just pull them in with kalistarx.png, and once your ultimate ends, you will get knocked up and die. 

This champion likes to stick to their targets with hops. If you even try to missfortunericochetshot.png + AA her and she attacks you back, she will latch onto you like a leech. She will get as many auto attacks off as possible, before using kalistaexpungewrapper.png for maximum damage. Your support will be forced to cast some disengage, and if she dodges it with her hop, you are in for some trouble. 

Due to this, you must only focus on killing minions and using missfortunericochetshot.png bounces. There will be scarce opportunities to kill her with missfortunericochetshot.png + missfortunescattershot.png + missfortunebullettime.png combo in lane.

Let your support work their magic, and don't flame your jungle because you will need them this game. 

429.png + 223.png is one of the worst matchups you can face. You can't kill or poke either of them.

VS

Karma

Hard

Recommended start: 1054.png + 2 2003.png


Avoid the first karmamantra.png + karmaq.png when walking to lane. 

karmaq.png deals AOE damage. Remember you can get hit by it even when standing behind minions. 

With the dorans shield start, try to avoid every other Q to get the most regen out of your passive. 

Late game, if Karma uses karmamantra.png + karmasolkimshield.png and her team runs into yours, you win with missfortunescattershot.png + missfortunebullettime.png

Contrarily, if you use missfortunescattershot.png + missfortunebullettime.png and Karma speeds her team out of it with karmamantra.png + karmasolkimshield.png and 3190.png, you lose the fight. 

TIP: Try to get advantages in lane, and then translate them to objectives. Focus towers. They win you the game, not CS, not kills. 

VS

Kennen

Medium

Recommended start: 1036.png + 32003.png


Poke with missfortunericochetshot.png bounces while standing behind your own minions to avoid his kennenshurikenhurlmissile1.png. Try to zone him off CS instead of killing him. 

Remember that his ultimate deals a devastating amount of damage now that Riot has removed the lightning bolt cap. Moreover, it stuns you so you can't cast missfortunebullettime.png

During mid game and late game, if he engages onto your team, his own team will try to follow up. This is when you land missfortunescattershot.png + missfortunebullettime.png

Make sure not to be trapped inside the dragon/baron pit unless you have 4.png.

VS

Kog'Maw

Easy

Recommended start: 1036.png + 32003.png


Wait for his kogmawbioarcanebarrage.png to expire before trading. Almost all of his damage is spread out. It won't ever surprise you like Lucian's. 

He can very easily disable missfortuneviciousstrikes.png with kogmawvoidooze.png for jungle ganks. The same ability works for when you try to chase him down. 

He is a better Jinx in lane, but that's about it. He is immobile and lacks CC to interrupt your missfortunebullettime.png. There is no way you should not be able to kill him as long as you make one sided trades with missfortunericochetshot.png bounces. 

Mid and late game, his team will gather around him to protect him. This is where you strike with your missfortunescattershot.png + missfortunebullettime.png.


VS

Leona

Medium

Recommended start: 1054.png + 2 2003.png


Good Leona players will start leonazenithblade.png. This makes trading against her very difficult starting level 1. If she starts Q, punish her. 

Use missfortunericochetshot.png + AA when she goes in for relic last hits early game when she and her ADC lack the damage to finish you off. 

Level 3 is where she truly starts to shine. Her threat is lower than that of a Blitzcrank or an Alistar, but it's still present. 

During jungle ganks, she can easily flash leonashieldofdaybreak.png + leonasolarflare.png to lock you down and prevent your chances of escape. If she does this, do not get disheartened, since you have no way of escaping that except staying out of flash range. 

Try to trade ultimate cooldowns with her. If she uses leonasolarflare.png and you almost die, go back to base and threaten your missfortunebullettime.png with your support while hers is down. 

If she uses her combo on your support, wreck their adc since they will most likely try to finish off your support. 

Mid and late game, proper usage of 3814.png will null chances of counterattack. Moreover, if she engages on your mid laner with her combo, you can devastate her and her entire team. She does not have the suvivability of an Alistar. 

VS

Lucian

Hard

Recommended start: 1036.png + 32003.png. Experiment with 1054.png+ 2 2003.png.


Both Lucian and Miss Fortune poke the same way, using Q through a minion. However, Miss Fortune's poke is more dangerous than his. 

The reason this matchup is listed as 'Hard' is because once he finishes Botrk, he can dash forth and use it's active on you to start a fight. His W works wonders for this as well. 

The worst part about Lucian is that with every auto attack, he gets 16 percent of your current health as damage due to his passive and 3153.png. In a general rotation where he attacks you thrice with his passive, this is 48 percent of current health in damage. Also, in this particular lane, he has the initiative, because he has the dash. 

Mid-game, both of you spike hard, but his mobility-heavy style of gameplay is what Miss Fortune is weak to. To win against Lucian, destroy this guy in lane before he buys his 1053.png. If you have  201.png or 53.png as a support, play super passive when they're out to ward. 

Lastly, freezing and zoning work wonders against this guy. These tactics are way better than mindless pushing early game, and if he stays, he is vulnerable to jungle ganks. 

TIP: If you feel like you regularly lack sustain against Lucian, try building a 1053.png before resuming your usual build path. 


VS

Lulu

Medium

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png


Lulu can be annoying because she has a lot of shields, but shields are temporary and do not restore HP. Poking around her cooldowns will be key in this matchup. 

Remember that if Lulu speeds her ally up, she cannot Polymorph you. Also remember that if she uses Pix to shield her ally, she cannot use it to damage you. Since both of her skills have different uses based on whether she targets an ally or an enemy, you can choose whether to back off or trade heavily after watching the usage. 

A single auto-attack from her will proc Thunderlord's decree, granted her pix bolts hit. 

Usually, she will be paired up with a Kog'maw or Jinx or Ashe. If she is, you win the lane because you can out-trade them even through shields. When paired up with Lucian or Draven, this becomes a difficult lane to go against. 

If you get snowballing, you can easily devastate her entire team, even if she shields them. Sometimes, you will kill their carries through 3190.pnglulue.png and lulur.png, but that's a rare occurrence. 

VS

Lux

Easy

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png


She is squishy and has no mobility. Her early game damage is extremely low unless she auto attacks you after a spell. Her shield is mediocre and can't even block 1/4th the damage of your missfortunericochetshot.png. Also, since she is heavily reliant on AP accumulation, she will become irrelevant while you scale up to god-tier. The only thing you have to be careful about is being picked off by her luxlightbinding.png with jungle ganks. 

Also, if she gets Mejais, kill her regularly so she doesn't reach 25 stacks. 

VS

Malzahar

Easy

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png or 1054.png + 2 2003.png.


A good Malzahar will max malzaharq.png against Miss Fortune. If he maxes malzaharw.png, just attack his minions and they will instantly die due to love tap. 

His passive is often dispelled by your missfortunescattershot.png. The best part is him still taking damage and being slowed after the passive wears off. 

For ganks, he will often 4.png + malzaharr.png you. If he is foolish enough to cast abilities after using his flash for more damage, just flash away. Regardless, if you die against his flash ult trick, do not get disheartened. It is a combo with very low counter-play, and buying a QSS will be sub-optimal. 

Instead, go the same route of buying 3814.png and devastate teamfights with well placed ultimates. Supports like 90.png fall off late game unless you walk in position for them to suppress you. 

VS

Maokai

Easy

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png


The most important thing to remember when playing against Maokai is to take a different path when heading to lane after a leash. If you don't, he can easily strike off 60 percent of your HP with his sapling collection. Place your first ward in the side bush as you come to lane, and be prepared to dodge any saplings that run at you. 

Other than that, there is not much you need to take care of. With missfortuneviciousstrikes.png activated, if you check brushes with missfortunescattershot.png, you can bait his saplings and outrun them. Similarly, in lane, you can bait saplings and run through your minions to make them explode on the creeps instead. 

If he ever uses his maokaiq.png, he has no other CC to stop your ultimate. If he engages onto your support, make sure to return the favor by trading with your missfortunericochetshot.png

TIP: Do not purchase 3147.png unless snowballing hard. Maokai can easily and consistently gain vision in brushes. 

VS

Morgana

Easy

Recommended start: 1054.png + 2 2003.png.  


With 1054.png, if you step off her tormentedsoil.png fast, it will end up healing you instead. It also grants you the additional tankiness of surviving an early game darkbindingmissile.png

Almost all of your damage is physical so her blackshield.png is useless against you. Still, it might be useful against your support, so think actively before committing to trades. Your support's CC might become unreliable with her presence. 

Remember that if you kill her, soulshackles.png disappear. This is important if she flash ults you and is at a low enough hp to be burst down. In teamfights, try to move back and split up so she cannot stun more than one target. If she has 3157.png as her first item, she has already lost her value as a support. 

Mid and late-game, you should not get caught by random darkbindingmissile.png.  The only situation where you can get trapped by them is where they are sieging and you need to last hit. Do not foolishly walk into brushes without checking them with your missfortunescattershot.png. Even then, they might have the brush warded, and could be hiding on the side to CC/Surprise you. 

Note: darkbindingmissile.png does not stop missfortunebullettime.png

VS

Nami

Easy

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png or 1054.png + 2 2003.png.


Nami's cooldowns are decently long, and she is squishy. She can erase her ADC's mistakes by using her namiw.png heal. The only downside to this is that it often needs to be maxed for effectiveness, and it costs a lot more mana with each rank. 

Her namir.png can interrupt your missfortunebullettime.png, even from a long range. 3814.png easily solves this problem, making you immune to the knockup if you don't get hit by any skill beforehand. 

In lane, if you have an engage support, you can easily 100-0 her with missfortunericochetshot.png + missfortunescattershot.png + missfortunebullettime.png. While she provides displacement and buffs to her adc, they are weaker in magnitude than 117.png's. 

VS

Nautilus

Medium

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png


This titan is an absolute CC machine that you need to be wary of. If he catches you with his nautilusanchordrag.png, a skillshot near impossible to miss, you will take a lot of damage from the opposing duo. The simple solution to this is to stand behind your wave. Also, when you are surfacing from your wave, you need to be careful because you are in alignment of his Q. Perfecting this skill will help you dodge nautilusanchordrag.png and rocketgrab.png.

His nautilussplashzone.png and passive are unable to stop the channeling of your missfortunebullettime.png. Also, 3814.png can be purchased to counter his nautilusgrandline.png. Sometimes, you can even channel the item while his R is chasing you, and block the spell when it reaches. 

Mid game, he performs the role of a front-line tank, but he's not as potent as he would be if he went top lane. You can still melt him relatively easily as a support, and he cannot perform the same courageous initiations that he can as a top laner. 

Still, handle this guy with caution, for if his tankiness reaches the threshold where he can take damage from your ultimate without caring, he will become unbearable.

TIP: He will try to use nautilusgrandline.png as an initiation tool, with nautilusanchordrag.png when you get knocked up. Timing your 4.png properly can help you escape this because you know what to expect. 

VS

Rakan

Medium

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png


Rakan has some annoying combos, but he's easier to deal with than Xayah. The delay on his rakanw.png makes it easy to dodge, while the short range on rakanq.png means he must overextend to land it. If he walks up boldly and dashes back to his ADC, make sure you send them a little present missfortunericochetshot.png

Mid and late game, his rakanr.png can stop your ult rather well. He can use it in multiple ways too. He can use it to hard engage with rakanw.png, charming all enemies and knocking them up. He can use it to stop you from ulting for four seconds, by not running around but not close enough for you to get charmed. 

With Xayah, he becomes a hard matchup. The bonus range on his E might not look much, but it matters a huge deal. Xayah's W also grants him bonus attack speed and the second hit, which makes matters worse. 

Still, with 3814.png, if he ever uses rakanw.png on your teammates, that means you are immune to his rakanr.png CC. 

VS

Sivir

Easy

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png.


She will push waves constantly with her sivirw.png, but you can zone her off the wave easily. Remember that her sivirq.png is almost as potent as yours if she maxes it and you take damage from both ends. Both of her damaging abilities deal reduced damage through minions. 

sivire.png does not block your E or R. It only has the capacity to block missfortunericochetshot.png

If she uses her sivirr.png, the enemy team will often try to run into yours. This is where a fully channeled bullet time can wreak havoc onto the enemies. In high elo, the enemies will split up and take positions after this skill is used, but more often than not, you will get chances for an optimal ultimate. This skill provides no slow immunity so your E works wonders. 

VS

Sona

Easy

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png.


She is super squishy and gets blown up by your missfortunericochetshot.png + AA. Her heal is sub-par, and if she maxes it, she has no poke. If she rushes in to attack you with her passive on, she will take damage from your Q, which will often be much more potent than her auto attack. If you devastate her early game, there is not much a Sona can do in the later stages of the game. 

Mid-game, beware of 4.png + sonar.png. If some members of your team get caught within it, it grants you an opportunity to missfortunescattershot.png + missfortunebullettime.png the funneling enemies for massive damage. 

Lastly, set up vision traps for her. You and your support/jungler can easily kill her or blow her 4.png if she tries to ward. 

VS

Soraka

Hard

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png


As far as I know, this lane is impossible to snowball. Her sorakaw.png completely erases your missfortunericochetshot.png poke, and it's priced at a similar mana cost. Even if you dodge her sorakaq.png repeatedly, your support might get hit by it, which will cause her to restore HP lost in healing. 

The only way to punish this lane is to attack the Soraka player, but they often stay back and only walk up to poke with sorakaq.png

If you are channeling missfortunebullettime.png, Soraka can walk up and cast sorakae.png. This skill will immediately ruin your plans, and also halt your missfortuneviciousstrikes.png

Still, all is not lost. If Soraka ever uses sorakae.png greedily on your support, you have an opportunity to combo. Mid and late game teamfights are the same, where she will have trouble reaching you without flash. 

TIP: An early  3123.png may help against this champion greatly. 

VS

Tahm Kench

Hard

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png or 1054.png + 2 2003.png.


This thick skinned river king is almost impossible to kill once he learns tahmkenche.png. If you poke him, he heals up a portion of it. If you try to burst him, he activates it and walks off to recall within the safety of his turret. Worse is the fact that he can provide better protection to his AD carry due to tahmkenchw.png. A reactive Tahm kench won't let you kill his adc without jungle or maybe even top assistance. 

tahmkenchq.png is not as potent in lane, but if you get hit by it, Tahm Kench might start auto attacking you to 3 stacks and tahmkenchw.png you. This deals massive damage even to tanks, and you should avoid this at all costs, unless you are 100 percent sure you can emerge from his belly and win the duel/fight. 

Mid game is when Tahm Kench becomes a roaming monster. A good Tahm Kench will use tahmkenchnewr.png to turn even fights unfair. If you are outside your turret alone, farming in peace, beware of this guy porting in their top laner to you and killing you off with base damages. Sometimes, even a turret might not offer adequate protection due to tahmkenche.png

The only good thing about playing against him is the fact that he has no immediate CC to interrupt your ultimate. You are free to channel it as you want in a teamfight. 

If he goes off to ward, or uses tahmkenchw.png foolishly on a minion, you will have a chance to poke him. 

TIP: Poke him when he tries to auto attack the melee minions for 3302.png. Also remember that he cannot devour his allies if they are casting channeled spells. 

VS

Taric

Medium

VS

Thresh

Medium

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png


Against Thresh, focus on primarily missfortunericochetshot.png bounces. The threat of a threshq.png in lane is relatively low, but his threshe.png is very potent. Even if he wastes his hook, do not walk up to auto attack him unless he is out of position and your support can help. He will simply threshe.png you back and cast threshrpenta.png to slow you down. This gives his ADC enough time to work on your health-bar. 

If this guy rushes 3117.png first, remember that you can use your E to disable them and slow him. He will also try to roam if he makes that purchase, leaving his ADC vulnerable more often than not. His threshw.png can get his ally out, and also bring his jungler in for a gank, so be wary of this ability's usage. It has a decently high cooldown. 

If he uses 4.png, respond with yours. Be generally mindful of your positioning when using it, so your flash doesn't get predicted. 

In both mid game and late game, Thresh players will look to use their CC peeling off your tanks or starting fights, which means you will get opportunities to get an uninterrupted missfortunebullettime.png off. 

TIP: Thresh does not gain armor/level. All of his armor is considered bonus armor. This makes 3033.png and 3036.png extremely effective against him. 


VS

Tristana

Medium

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png


Tristana naturally pushes lane due to her tristanae.png passive. Similarly, the passive makes it difficult for her to last hits under turret early game. The explosion of a ranged minion makes all other minions die from a single turret shot.

Just like Ashe, Tristana wants to stay in the fight until she gets her tristanae.png fully charged. Your trading patterns are completely different from her, and you have the upper hand in trades consisting of missfortunericochetshot.png bounces or missfortunericochetshot.png + AA. Unlike Ashe, however, Tristana has mobility tools to start fighting with you. The closer she is to you, the harder it is to channel a good ultimate. 

Mid-game, with her purchase of 3047.png, she can aggressively jump in and demolish you with her tristanae.png + tristanaq.png + tristanar.png combo. Be mindful of this fact, and stay close to your support if in unwarded areas. 

Late game, she will become an absolute monster. Exploit her and end the game before it reaches that point, through superior objective control. 

TIP: Buying your own 3047.png helps greatly. 

VS

Trundle

Medium

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png


Trundle will start 3302.png 99 percent of the time. Use your poke combos on him when he comes up to last hit. This lane should be fairly easy till his jungler comes to gank. Then, he will use his trundlecircle.png to halt your strut and knock you up. Depending on your position, this can draw a 4.png from you. 

He will never get as tanky in lane, even after he learns trundlepain.png. This is primarily due to supports being super squishy. The bonus armor and healing can be cut through with the help of 3033.png. Regardless, if he chooses not to trundlecircle.png in lane, you cannot cast your ultimate, unless you are sure 1 or 2 waves will kill him. 

Mid to late game, he will often try to use his pillar to engage onto your team. It blocks his own team as well, since it's impassable terrain. Make sure not to get caught in the initial burst, and you will get an opportunity to cast a good ult when they group up. 

VS

Varus

Easy

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png.


Be mindful of the two stances you can take against Varus. You can stand at the side of your wave, making him choose between you or the wave with his varusq.png, or you can stand behind your minions, where even if you get hit, the damage is greatly reduced. 

varuspassive.png grants him bonus attack speed upon killing a minion. This fades away if you distract him from the duty for 5 seconds. If he tries to freeze his wave, there will be windows where he doesn't have this passive. 

varusw.png makes his abilities do extra damage. So make sure you don't stick around for too long. As always missfortunericochetshot.png + AA is your friend. 

Post level 6, mid game, and late game, this guy will try to make picks using varusr.png. Remember that even if you are affected by it, or in range of being affected by it, it doesn't stop the channeling or cast of your ultimate. If you have to sacrifice a bit of health to get a better ult off, do it. 

NOTE: Do not use 7.png while standing on varuse.png.


VS

Vayne

Easy

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png


Unless you mess up, this lane will be an absolute destruction of the Vayne player's mental fortitude. The fact that Vayne does not have any surprises in her kit strengthens your highs even more. You are free to zone her as much as you want, because she has no farming ability like caitlynpiltoverpeacemaker.png or ezrealmysticshot.png

Both of your attack ranges are the same, and missfortunericochetshot.png + AA is much better than vaynetumble.png + AA. If she uses vaynecondemn.png too much, she runs the risk of going OOM, at which point you will just bully her. 

The only situation where you need to be careful of her is where you are too far from tower, even in gold, and she has her ultimate up. But if you play this lane properly, that will happen once in a hundred games. 

TIP: An 3814.png purchase will mean death for her CC, because the only ability she can use  on you is vaynecondemn.png

VS

Vel'Koz

Medium

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png.


Vel'koz's velkozq.png might take some getting used to, but it's not impossible to dodge.  velkozw.png is ineffective for support Vel'koz, unless he uses it in conjunction with velkoze.png to proc passive. 

Laning against him is difficult due to the fact that he often gets incredible brush control due to his poke. He can also just walk up and pressure you for every CS you take with his E. He doesn't even need to use it. Good Vel'koz players will use W to get your passive off, and then hit you with E + W again. 1001.png work wonders against him for the same reason. 

Remember that once he gets a single passive stack on you, he can start channeling his ultimate and reach maximum damage potential. Even then, your missfortunescattershot.png + missfortunebullettime.png combo is much deadlier. 

In mid/late game teamfights, he should not be able to do much due to the fact that his E is so short range. Make sure to not face-check unwarded brushes. Fight around objectives and get a lead on his ADC. 

VS

Xayah

Hard

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png or 1054.png + 2 2003.png.


While her xayahq.png is easy to dodge, her passive feathers zone off a good portion of the lane. This zone is also often the best area to get missfortunericochetshot.png bounces off. Your poke on her gets highly diminished due to this simple reason. 

She can push a wave much faster than you can, with xayahw.png and auto attacks. Expect to get shoved in repeatedly. During dives, she can provide as much damage as she needs to before turning untargetable with xayahr.png and finishing you off with xayahe.png.

Her  xayahr.png also prevents proper usage of your ultimate, and since she can trade without it, she can save it for your missfortunebullettime.png or a jungle gank. 

Instead of making your own plays, try to capitalize on the Xayah's mistakes. Instead of forcing yourself to take poke from her, find opportunities to trade favorably. Snowball this particular lane through objective control and mid game teamfights, where Xayah is weakest. Once she starts to finish 3-4 items, she will become unbearable. 

VS

Ziggs

Easy

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png.


Ziggs wants to reach his items so he can destroy your turrets quickly with 3100.png + ziggspassive.png and ziggsw.png. He is weak to you because of your extremely strong physical damage poke. AD carries like 222.png might find him troublesome because they rely on auto attacks, but you don't. You're an AD caster, a version of him that does the job of supplying physical damage way better. 

His ziggse.png stays around for a long time, and his ziggsq.png is AOE, so distance yourself from your minions a fair bit. If you start zoning him, he will simply farm with ziggse.png + ziggsq.png from outside counter-attack range. Your job is to destroy him before he gets to the mana threshold that allows him to do that. 

TIP: Duskblade of Draktharr helps you outtrade him even harder. Similarly, if his mid laner is AP too, you can tell your support to build 3060.png

VS

Zyra

Easy

Recommended start: 1036.png + 3 2003.png


If she spawns a plant between you and her, you can missfortunericochetshot.png the plant for guaranteed poke. Train your reaction times to avoid a 4.png + zyrae.png cast, since that's how fights are forced by Zyra. 

In lane, Zyra is squishy and your poke will melt her. Once you finish your 3142.png, you can kill her before her ult charges. Even if she zyrar.png in response to your missfortunebullettime.png, it takes 1.5 seconds to charge, which consists of enough waves to destroy her. 

In teamfights, use your missfortunescattershot.png + missfortunebullettime.png combo in response to the enemy Zyra's initiation on your tanks. This will either discourage their team from following up, or make them overcommit to get to you. Moreover, you destroy all the plants in the region, granting your team the ability to continue fighting. 

NOTE: Do not start channeling your ultimate after zyrar.png has been cast, while standing in the field.
