Summoner Spells Back to Top

4.png  -  Always take this spell. its In my opinion the most broken spell in the game and a must take for Mordekaiser on top lane as you can use it offensively effectively and of course its great for escaping ganks.

180.png

12.png- I usually take Teleport as one of my main summoner spells on top lane because its great for keeping pressure on lanes and gaining a lot of cs but please try to avoid using teleport as a way of ganking as mordekaiser has no way to follow up with it. you might get lucky if the enemy isnt paying attention but most of the time it will be a wasted effort, the best use of teleport is by using it to pressure lanes and gaining high cs to get a strong mid game lead which is when Mordekaiser is best but make sure to keep it for drakes when there is an oppurtunity to take a drake as it will give you a massive lead in team gold and objective pressure when you use the drake to push down two turrets on Mid lane.

Masteries Back to Top

This is the best page setup for Mordekaiser in Season 7 as of right now.

Stormraiders Surge is in my opinion the best mastery page to have, the only time you will be using DFT morde is for vs ranged champs or panth/jax where stormraiders build just isnt good into
179.png

Natural Talent > Vamparism - Honestly morde doesn't need spell vamp anymore as his w heal and Hextech Gunblade give him all the sustain he needs so that extra damage scaling into mid/late game helps out morde a lot more than the extra sustain as its just not necessary with my build.
179.png

I take double edged sword on Mordekaiser because he is a burst mage so its best to take that extra 5% damage straight at the start to give that extra power during mid/early phase - Stormraiders Only
179.png

DFT Build is only used vs certain matchups where you simply cant use the stormraiders setup. the only times when you will need to use this on top is vs jayce, Panth and Jax as you will not be using your q as primary damage like Stormraiders but instead a W > E focused build 179.png

This is how i will usually level my abilities on Mordekaiser.

Focus w gives you more sustain, lots of aoe damage and a huge heal and extra damage when you re-activate it just make sure you use the W on a creep that has full hp otherwise the w will completely end. - always max W on DFT and Stormraiders
180.png

I start E at level 1 because it helps farm from a distance as honestly mordekaiser at level 1-2 is terrible and you should never try to trade at this level or push as you will definitely get yourself killed so this helps you get those last hits from a distance and keeps you from pushing your lane too far as an early gank from the enemy jungler will burst your flash or kill you.
the reason its the last ability to level up is because its base damage isnt that great honestly its main purpose is for shield management and sustain the main damage outputs of the kit are the ult, q and w

180.png
I max Q second because its his strongest ability, you need the w sustain during the bad early game and for pressuring the enemy then when the mid game hits thats when you start racking up the kills with the high output damage from Q. - Stormraiders
180.png
I max E second on DFT because you simply dont have the movespeed to use q properly vs the matchups you will most likely be against so instead it will be a focus on pressuring your lane with w as much as you can and harassing with E when you can the constant pressuring will make the ranged champs struggle to harass you especially with the constant shielding and healing from W. - Deathfires Touch

180.png

If you feel like you dont need to worry about getting pressured or out damaged in the early game. this is usually vs tanks or other bad early game champs then start W as you can push the wave forcing them to lose cs and putting them in a bad spot for ganks as the more minions near you means the more potential damage as a stacked wave of minions in the early game can really shred the enemy when they dont expect it.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

first back vs squishies or easy matchups - stormraiders
    first back - Deathfires
If its an incredibly easy matchup then take this
good first back vs riven, Fiora and yasuo
almost always start with this as it helps a lot with early ganks and harass
first back vs an ad champ. if they have good early game sustain buy bramble instead of arm seekers
    first back vs ap champs.

Core Items

    StormRaiders Setup
    Deathfires Setup
    Full build example - Stormraiders
    Full build example - Deathfirestouch
good core vs high mobility champs
    More tanky Stormraiders setup
are you vs a tank? then this will be your core setup as they will most likely rush hp and mr so you will need this to shred them in the mid and early game

Situational Items

for when you are stomping the enemy team this will end the game quickly
this item is a lot better than protobelt now after the nerf. the active gives out a lot of damage and is a great sustain item for when you are dying quickly in fights
perfect when you are struggling vs a strong ap comp. it gives cd for better shield management/mr/ hp for your passive and better healing for your w and r
I have been taking this a lot recently because of the adc heavy meta. it gives a lot of armor and the grievous wounds will make it a lot easier to burst down champs trying to out sustain your damage
If you have a really heavy ap team and the enemy has rushed mr really quickly then consider buying this second or third so you dont struggle in the mid game
I usually always take this as its great life saver as Mordekaiser has no escapes but only take it if you feel you need a life saver
pretty good vs squishy ap champs as you can block out one of their attacks and gives you some extra damage for popping them. I rarely take this these days but you might still prefer it!
If you are struggling to land E's on your opponent as DFT morde then consider taking this item to close that gap as E is one of DFT mordes main damage abilities and cant afford not being able to use it.
If you feel you are getting focused and burst down too fast then buy this! its tenacity will reduce a lot of heavy CC and give you a huge shield to stop you from getting deleted instantly
Recently I have been taking abysmal mask as my primary defence for ap because of the extra damage buff it gives with the hp that mordekaiser simpy needs during the mid game and late game. it gives a lot of sustain and damage that mordekaiser needs
